[Planets I]The second wave: United Cultures attacks Green Sun
United Cultures
12-01-2005, 00:39
At the embarrising loss of a carrier at the Asteroid fields, United Cultures immediately went to work on rebuilding their navy. The upped it to 4 cruiser, two battleships, and two carriers, much larger than Green Sun's navy, but it drained their military budget, but they knew that this time they would not fail. Failure this time meant much worse consequences since UC was now an ally of the Galctic Empire.
Admiral Hen'raldo Jah'ahlee studied the rocky space terrain.
"Destroy all the asteroids that aren't ours. I don't care in they're Albinoism or Oni Cordiat. They will not get in our way again."
"Roger!"
He laughed as most of the front half of the asteroid field was destroyed. Bodies and ship parts floated everywhere.
"Collect all you can. We may need these parts."
"Yessir."
Drones flew out and gathered everything they could and then returned to their respective ships. The ships advanced as their weapons cooled down, then opened fire again.
"Tell whoever is in charge of these asteroids that belong to us to get them in our own orbit for mining. If they float freely in space like this, they'll be perfect targets."
"Calling..."
"We now have a strait line to our enemy's homeworld! All forces advance! I want their president's head on a Plasma Sword!"

"Sir, reports have told us that United Cultures just cleared a direct route to our solar systems. What will we do? They seem to be much bigger than last time.
"Oh, hell, yeah, that's a lot of ships. Oh, hell. Allah help us...Now I'm getting a headache. Contact Oni Cordiat and see if they'll help us out. We have a much smaller fleet than that, but perhaps we'll use the same tricks as last time. Did they say anything about my head?" Earnest Equanant asked.
"Yes. They want it on a Plasma sword."
"That gives me an idea. But first get me the hell outta here. Mobilize our fleet to defend our planets. I don't want them getting to Red Homes. Do whatever you can to stop them. And get the biggest asteroid you can find."
"M'lord, intelligence reports cofirm our suspicions. We fear war is about to break out between Green Sun and the United Cultures. UC is unquestionably the agressor here, but it's possible they're reacting to a former injustice on the part of Green Sun after a previous war," the Defense Minister concluded his report.
"Yes, and Hitler was reacting to past injustices against Germany. That doesn't justify his actions. Alert President Equanant that we are sympathetic to his cause, but make it clear we will not take sides. Perhaps we should send a cruiser, just to observe."
"Of course, Sire."

Official Dispatch to Combatant Parties
In the interest of peace, and in order to help uphold the Laws of War, the Kingdom of Malkyer has sent two battlecruisers, the Haleon and the Sonora to the Green Sun system to act as observers in this conflict. Malkyer will remain neutral in this conflict, and we expect you to treat our vessels as neutral territory.
Signed,
Henry Nagara,
Minister of Defense
Secret Telegram to President Earnest Equanant
Based on the information available to us, my nation's leaders are for the most part sympathetic to your plight. However, we will stay neutral unless provoked. I can assure you, though, that we pray for a swift end to this war. We will be watching. It is possible I may be able to provide you with covert aid, but such things should not be discussed over such unsecure channels. I look forward to a reply from you.
Signed,
Henry Nagara,
Minister of Defense

To: Malkyer's president
Thank you. United Cultures opposed our Trade Empire program, so they reacted by trying to beat us into topping it. It ended in a draw, but we captured one of their carries and used their Plasma Shield tech. Evidently, their pride is everything so they're attacking us again now they're bearing a navy twice our size.
ONI Concordiat

The ONI Concordiat wil be willing to assist Green Sun. We are already mobilized from our conflict with Melcon, and we are already sending a task-force to intercept the Enemy.
The Bolo's sensors detected the inbound enemy craft, and the explosion of a large number of the asteroids. Electronic relays closed, turrets swiveled, and reactors increased their output as the Bolo took aim. Computer-honed calculations and firing solutions found the Enemy. WHAM-WHAM! The Bolo fired both of its 90 mT/second Hellrail cannon, and the 200cm 6mT/second Hellbore Directed Nuclear Cannons on its upper hull. The sensors indicated a positive hit, but with what weapons and the effect were both unknown.
The Concordiat fleet streamed into real space, powering down their RIFT engines. Naval-Hellbores and Naval-Hellrails as well as railguns and point-defense cannons powered up, taking aim at the Enemy. There was a SNAP as the battlescreen systems popped on, the capacitors ready to absorb any inbound energy blast. The fleet aimed...ever so carefully...

Admiral Hen'Raldo was disgusted. They were dragging their allies into this fight. No matter, their puny weapons did little. Oni Cordiat's nuclear arsenal was shot away by the Plasma Turrets on the Battleships while the others were fizzled out by the Plasma shields.
"Oni Cordiat, an old friend. It seems you've joined with Green Sun here. If they weren't so busy the Empire would crush you like they should have, you and the rest of us. Turn back now and we'll spare Green Sun's goverment. But we can't say the same for their people..."

IC from the Admiral John-Lee to Admiral Hen'Raldo
"You have to get that thing outta your ass, I can't see your head because of it. Oh, wait, that IS your head in your ass!"
All the Green Sun ships fired their laser cannons. They knew that UC hadn't improved their Plasma shields. Wasn't too much to improve on. He laughed as the giant red beams headed towards the collection of species' ships.

OCC: the Hellbore and Hellrail rounds are pure energy; so point-defense cannon can't do much.
The Bolo let out a mechanical chuckle as the Enemy shot at his Hellbore bolts with point-defense cannon. The Hellrails, however, splashed over the enemy's shields, doing little. The Bolo was confused. It's Hellrails were the heaviest weapon in the Concordiat's arsenal next to a Hellbore, and they don't hurt the enemy ships. There was only one thing to do. The Bolo flicked its contragrav generators twice, and floated off of the asteroid directly towards the United Cultures ship.
The Concordiat Fleet opened fire, the much larger Naval cannon firing bolts of pure energy at over 300 mT/second, with the equivalent power of a 300-megaton nuclear bomb concentrated into a point less than 60 centimeters across. The railguns also fired, firing solid slugs of duralloy at a considerable fraction of lightspeed. The shipborne fighters also swooped from the launch bays, ten-centimeter Hellbores chattering. The ships' battlescreens POPPED again, as the Dual-Ply magnetic shielding came on behind the battlescreen's wall.

"Fire up the Aft engines! Dodge those beams!"
"Aye-Aye sir!"
"Ready the MAC cannons! Aim and fire!"
Green Sun
15-01-2005, 02:34
"FIRE IT NOW!"
The TEOO-invented orbital cannons opened fire on the United Cultures ships. However, they were highly experimental with the Laser Cannons, and they couldn't take it. As soon as the cannons fired, they exploded into pieces.
Gaian Ascendancy

*Mere moments before...*
---------
*The Entrara Dimension...
...at the end of all things..*
"How long..." ..it wasn't a question.
All over, what remained of the crew of the Eternal Destiny was trying as hard as they could to comply. So were the remaining ships of the Fleet..
..unfortuantely, they weren't alone in doing so..
After a strong shock impacts the side of the vessel. "Report!!!"
"The enemy is one parsec away and closing. They've already engaged their leap torpedoes!!"
"Great.."
--
The six largest vessels of the Diamond Facet Fleet, the Illiad, Odessey, Eternus, Soltana, Jewelvana, and finally the Flag itself, the Eternal Destiny gorged with as much of the once immense Ascendancy, was fighting against time, and worse an immense fleet well overmatching them by 5000 to 1.
Even for these vessels, the average of 500km each in size wasn't going to be enough.
For days, the fleet, after sealing away the last of this 'assets' until another time came, was now engaged in constant Fold Jumping as they ran for their very existence. Their adversary had already caught them twice, causing two other such vessels, the Goddess, and Immanus to fall as they subcumbed to kamakaze attacks by four ramming attacks by the enemy.
Not even they could stand up to 200 km vessels of such dark hate.
Now it was a race against time. Either they finally finished repairs on the Dimension Drive, and tunnel themselves away from the coffin of their former realm..
..or they die.
--
..and then a larger shock SLAMS into the Destiny, causing the Holo-Center to short out for a second, causing several of the walkways to vanish. Several crewmembers start to fall, but then the backups catch on.
..the sight is mercifully not mentioned here.
The excellency however yells over the 'noise'. "I SAY AGAIN, HOW LONG!?!"
Another heavy shock, as the torpedoes are starting to conrease in intensity.
":: One more D-M1-4 Junction Sire!!! ::"
The Excellency grips his control holo-board. "Still too long."
A large, avian soul strides up, sporting a bad head wound though his feathered crown. "~ I fear for the others if they do not hurry. ~"
The Excellency sighs. "They've been 'at' it for a week. We can only push dimensional physics so far in this manner.
One mass Fold to save what's left of us. We 'have' to get everyone in one Jump. We've lost too much to get this far."
Ackronus, the avian Lord nods, knowing to be reminded for the hundredth time is pointless. It 'was' his plan after all.
The Excellency's plan was to use it to mass transport the whole or the remainder, to another dimension. After several Ages of a losing war, Trillions slaughtered, they knew what was at stake.
A chance to rebuild from the ashes.
Their enemy however was in as much a hurry to stop them. The torpedoes began to be joined by advance vessels of the Dark Emperor Fleet.
The shear-shields began to glow from the buckling they took. As the first enemy vessel appeared however, the minefield spread began to rip enemy vessels apart. Some of the debri slammed into the shields, also taking a toll.
No fighter screens were sent out though. There was no intent on making a stand. It was all about escape. The Excellency could only watch, no tactics would help here.
Only a miracle of speed.
As such.. ":: Links MADE!! Charging for the Fold now!!! ::"
The Excellency held his breath. "Hurry..
..I can feel him coming now."
--
In His zealouzy to finish the task of Genocide, the Emperor Mulhorandii had pushed his fleet beyond all reason. His hatred of the Gaian Way was so terrible, that the dimension about Him was all but gone.
No Galaxies, no Systems..
..not even grains of matter. The Genocide that had lasted for so long was finally at an end. And then.. to the next Genocide..
..without the Gaians, there was no breakwater for His Goal.
No guardians to stop him. No one...
..so much that He ordered his Flagship to leap ahead of the Dark fleet itself and even if needed, he'd slam His own vessel into his mortal enemy's.
All he said that day, in fact at that moment in of inside a whole standard week.
"{{{~ Take his Heart. ~}}}"
------
As the Dark Genocide hyper-Folded at full risk of a cascade explosion, the Gaian Fleet was moments away from its awaited fold.
The tension turned unto a fragment of time.
Everything was wordless.
The Dark ships kept leaping through, just as the charging stage reached apex. The mines finally failed, and local gaian defenses took out the first ships that got too close.
Then the Leap Locks sealed..
Then the Jewelvana took a hit to its Zero-Core.. the explosion blinded everything in it's instant solar fusion effect..
..only the shields saved the rest of the Fleet.
Then the curses of the Excellency was squelched by the awaited words..
":: Leap ready!! ::"
Just then, before the Excellency could react, the sight horrid entered his vision..
..as the Dark Genocide appeared.
The Excellency clenched his mind.
..but then.. "...too late bastard..
.....RANDOM DIMENSIONAL LEAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Suddenly, as the bulk of the Second wave of the enemy emerged, and as the Dark Genocide screamed in to ram the Eternal destiny, a shimmering field encapsulates the Gaian Fleet..
..mere seconds of eternity later, the Dark enemy watched helplessly as the Gaian Fleet 'finally' lept.
At that, the Gaian Ascendancy was over, its last safely away to another dimensional reality.
..the Dark Emperor could only howl at his lost prey.
..the howling wouldn't end for an eternity.
..and the Entara Dimension was gone...
====
*The present dimension...
...present age.*
Moments later, the fleet rips into the midst of the battle, both viewports on both sides filled with shorn sheets of war-blasted white!!!
The Soltana takes a good lick upon the starboard superstructure, and the Illiad the port same, but both are miniscule compared to the gashes upon the vessels already....
Seeing anew source of battle... "What the bloody hell?!" The Excellency roars out!!!
Green Sun
15-01-2005, 06:39
"What the hell? WHo are they?" Admiral John-Lee asked.
"They're unknown sir. Not even from foreign galaxies."
"Well, who cares. Fire over them, just not through."
Gaian Ascendancy
15-01-2005, 06:50
"Who are they!?" The Excellency yells a bit higher on tone, already stressed the heck all out!!
Lord Ackronus barks his own orders... "~ Move out of close range NOW!!! ~"
With the last of their current drive power, the five vessels manage to break off and gain distance from the unexpected battle.
They only manage a port side turn each, barely in formation before, almost a cascade reaction, their individual power-cores dump out, overstressed by the Fold.
The Excellency meanwhile calls out. "I want minimum needed defensive screens for the technology level out there.
We already lost enough today.."
The Facet Fleet is now at 10 kilometers distant, still looming over the field of battle, but not wanting much part in it.
Green Sun
15-01-2005, 06:57
"Hail them."
"Hailing..."
United Cultures
15-01-2005, 06:58
"Who are they?"
"We don't know."
"Well, fire over them, not through them."
"Aye-Aye."
"Oh, and one more thing."
"What?"
"Hail them."
"Hailing..."
Gaian Ascendancy
15-01-2005, 07:04
Just as the Excellency was wiping his brow in annoyance at the situation..
":: We're recieving hails from two sources nearby.. ::"
Ackronus and the Excellency look at each other.
"While they're still firing at each other?" ..both quip in simult. The Excellency then looks at the ships still firing at each other, the muilti-colored trails lancing at each other.
..somehow he's... bemused.
"Um.. well... open a comm-portal I suppose..." ..and so doing, the Comm-Center Admin does as ordered... ":: Comm open... ::"
Green Sun
15-01-2005, 07:08
"Greetings, I'm Admiral John-Lee. We're in a bit of a hotspot right now, so it would be a good idea to stay out of the way unless you attack them. You seem to be pretty wounded. Contact Uziel Fastrin on Green Sun if you're a rogue faction looking for a home. If you already have a claim, please state your buissness in Green Sun space."
Collapsia
15-01-2005, 07:41
The jumpship ARC Scattering (as the best translation of its name and class from Collapsian went) appeared in Green Sun space, in the nearest system to Collapsian space, although on the edge of the system, about 10 AUs from the center.
The Scattering was an old Collapsian jumpship, unlike the newer, bigger Imperium-class models being constructed in every system now. It was two clicks long, and slated to be sold off to a private museum as soon as the Imperium ships entered service. Nonetheless, it would have to do, as it was the only jump-capable ship Collapsia had.
A small drone ship attached to its body detached, and flew insystem. The Scattering idled, its small crew keeping the fusion reactor running at capacity, to complete their mission as fast as possible, and return home.
The drone began transmission "Collapsia cannot offer any help in your current war at this time. However, we can sell you personnel weapons, and even manufacture ships for you, or sell you some of our Collapsian ships. In ship-based weapons, we can sell you large numbers of 1-megaton fusion missiles. We can, of course, make bigger, or MIRVed missiles. Whatever you need, Collapsia can sell you."
Green Sun
15-01-2005, 07:48
"We're not intersted in buying right now. We like to use our own resorces first them importing. Any excess we sell. This is not a safe place right now. Please leave."
Gaian Ascendancy
15-01-2005, 07:52
The Excellency was about to speak when the Scattering's transmission was recieved..
..he only made a... "..uh... kay.." ..comment to himself..
Finally he announced himself as well.
"This is the Gaian Ascendancy, Diamond Facet Fleet Warship Eternal Destiny. I am Lord Excellency Aleaic Saloam Kerensky.
Please excuse our.. um.. enterance, as we had just.. departed a... *his voice turning dour* ...grevious matter.
..we, unfortuantely, understand your stance, and will not interfere.. for now..
..We shall depart your space as soon as repairs are effected enough for travel. We however will allow our assets of a neutral sorte for the purpose of negotiations if such is 'ever' wanted.
At the moment, we have.. our.. *slightly breaking voice again..* ..own... tendings to sort out.
Please excuse our intrusion."
Aleaic turns inside is trying 'very' hard to keep up a front... it's crumbling fast however.

The com window closed.
"Sir, we've just gotten word. Our goverment has ordered us to stand down. UC has agreed to do the same."
"What? We have them right were we want them, between Oni and our own fleet!"
"Sorry, sir."
"Alright. All ships, stand down."
He watched as all the other ships and fighters turned back. Plasma and dents were inflicted from the MAC cannons and the plasma weaponry used against them.
"I see we're going to call this one a draw, too, UC. But we'll get you. Someday," he said when he hailed them.
United Cultures
15-01-2005, 08:00
"I can say the same to you. It seems Green Sun is intersted in aiding the Empire. We cannot attack an ally," the admiral responded. The ships turned away and went home to repair their ship's major injuries.
Collapsia
15-01-2005, 08:15
The Drone Ship, having transmitted, lay mostly inert. Upon recieving the response, it replied "Aknowledged. No reply to Collapsia necessary."
Meanwhile, the jumpship headed to where profit could be found, in the United Cultures system closes to Collapsian space. However, as soon as they entered, they heard the buzz of communications regarding the new peace.
They had nothing left to do but recharge their engines and jump back to Collapsia, to report a mission failure.

Aleaic is looking down when Ackronus reports.. "~ Sire... out there.. ~"
The Excellency looks up and sees the combatants falling back.
Aleaic smiles.. "It's a good sign."
Meanwhile, med-tech Knights are moving all about, 'reviving' the stricken crewmwmbers that fell 'victim' to the shipwide power crash. Already several crewmembers that were 'decapitated' by the holo-walkways are revived, though they still have a 'ways' to go..
..as does the rest of the shattered Ascendancy.
Aleaic asks.. "How bout Intracel and the Union? How did they fare?"
Lord Ackronus looks at a holo-Padd with scrutiny. "~ Of the 100 million we managed to save, about 87% of the cryo-chambers were apparently damaged. ~" Aleaic winces badly... "Dammit..."
Ackronus then lists their assets.. "~ Five Ascendancy Class vessels. One thousand docked fleet groups, of which half are below half-strength, which a reorg will be needed. Two Fleet Motherdocks, but depleted of energy.
About... twenty-seven Grand Knight Armies still aboard, though they're almost shells quite bluntly.
Um.. one thousand million Starfighters and Mobile-suits, about which 'all' need substantial repair. Added the citizens in cryo-sleep..
..beyond that, we managed to save five 'Systems' in dimensional storage. But where to.. ~"
"No..."
Ackronus jerks his feathered head. "~ But sire! We need a base to... ~"
Aleaic 'erupts out of his seat! "I SAID NO!! We will not bring that which vanquished us so... so... easily...
...a.............. a thousand Eon war need not be dumped on these souls. They have their own problems, and we have ours..
..besides, we are intruders upon this dimension. Without proper permission of the local civilizations for anything of the kind to place our Systems, would be a grave dishonor."
Ackronus tries to press. "~ Milord... without a place to operate from... sire, we don't have the resources to support the cryo-stasis indefinitely.
I'm still suprised we even survived... ~"
Aleaic is stone... "So am I.... but still, we must adhere to the Code. We will not act otherwise...
..it's all we have to hold onto now....."
Ackronus nods... morbidly..
Aleaic then stuns much with his next words..
"My friend, please...
....wipe the Core Memory of the Entrara Dimension please..."
Ackronus suddenly renews his objections!! "~ Milord!!?!!? ~"
Aleaic though ROARS back! "DO AS I COMMAND!! We will NOT allow such data to be used by any, and all allies of the Darkness to trace our jump here! If I could, I would expunge our existence of this dimension to one where this is no dimension! As is, we have no home now, and such is only a danger to 'this' dimension!
...NOW OBEY. NO QUESTION................. please.
..it's nothing, but a bad memory now anyway."
Those about the two cringe from the Excellency's 'rare' anger directed at his own subjects. Still Ackronus can see the pain in Aleaic's eyes as he finishes. In fact, the logic is dammed cold.
There was nothing to go back to anyway.
The Avian Lord nods again in dejection. "~ Aye... milord.. ~" ..and turns towards the Dimensia-Controllers for the unwanted task.
Aleaic meanwhile slumps back into his seat. For the first time in days, an allowed and 'terrible' drowsiness starts to affect him.
..nevermind the comm-port was never closed..... =oo=;;;

"Sounds like you're having many problems. We advice that you attend the conferance about peace between Green Sun and United Cultures. If you do I believe we can bring up a solution taht will benifit the three of us," the admiral told them, "And try and get your fleet together. HIVE, from what we've heard, is not the friendliest faction in the galaxy. You are welcome to repair at United Culture's docks. I'm sure GReen Sun will make a smiliar offer."

Aleaic suddenly snapped his eyes open.
"Did... did that.."
Ackronus looks over towards the Comm-Section. "~ Oppsie.. ~"
Aleaic turns a 'beet' color. He then speaks into the comm again.
"*hiccup-giggle* Sorry about.. that.. uh, the facilities aren't required.
The peace conference however 'is' acceptable. We shall attend while repairs are effected for our fleet. Thank you.."
Aleaic then looks down with bemused embarrassment. "Uheheh.. heh.... uh.. heh.."

The Gaian Fleet ends up on station keeping at the edge of the current System. They then begin enacting the hull regeneration system, starting the long process of sealing the damage, some in areas among the vessels, 6 - 8 kilometers wide, deep, all the above.
