King Falcon I assassinated

Falcania

Up until 50 years ago, the island of Falcania was a war-torn realm of terror and destruction. The Terri people had ruled Falcania as a colony of their native homeland Terra and the native Falcanian people were oppressed heavily. Falcania, a small island in the Sub Pacific border, was not of enough strategic advantage to be of any interest to anyone else. The Falcanians were subject to racism, degradation and many were killed. However the Falcanian Militia, led by the courageous Commander Falcon, which had been engaged in battle with the Terri secret police for years, finally prevailed in a monumental battle. Falcon's coronation ensued and King Falcon I brought order to Falcania for the first time in many years. He has reigned ever since.

That reign came to an end today, when an unknown assassin today shot King Falcon I as he celebrated his Silver Jubilee in Mathdon, capital of Falcania. A 5.56mm bullet was removed from his neck. He was buried, by request, at the foot of the Falcanian Holocaust memorial. His son, HRH Cmmr Falcon II, has handed over command of the army to his second-in-command, the new Cmmr Michael Hack, notably remembered for rescuing Jankian astronauts. King Falcon II had his coronation this afternoon.

It is believed that the assassination of King Falcon I was just the start of revenge by the Terri, who were driven back to Terra 50 years ago. The Terri are dangerous, barbaric people, but Falcania are not prepared to wage war on them as they are not sure whether or not they are responsible for the death of King Falcon I. However, Cmmr Hack raised the national security level up to 2.

Troops won't be required until we unmask the culprits.

Mathdon police found a 5.56mm sniper rifle 30m from the scene of the assassination today. They bore the fingerprints of James Mackal, son of the notorious General Tom Mackal, leader of the old Terri Secret Police, and who famously carried a grudge against the King. It would appear that the Terri are indeed the culprits.

James Mackal sent King Falcon II a message today. After being screened for bombs and viruses, it read as follows.

From: King Mackal I
To: Cmmr Falcon II
The rumours are true. Yes, I killed your father, the false king of Falcania. As my father is dead, the rightful throne of Falcania belongs to me, not you. Therefore I prosecute you of treason. As I write this, my soldiers are approaching the Falcanian coast near Mathdon. They are armed with XM-8 assault rifles and have been ordered not to fire until they have given you one chance to come out and let them arrest you without any attempts to resist. As soon as you attempt to resist arrest in any form at all, they will open fire. You have 48 hours. Goodbye, Commander.

As an Imperial nation we the Holy Realm of the Austrogoths and the Dukedom of Navia do not recognize the new Emperor of Falcania...we demand the nearest blood relative of the former Emperor be installed as King...But we will not break off relations with your nation.

Hail!

I will send troops if the supporters of the former Emperor wish it. I can have 144,000 men in-theater by the end of the week.

It would appear the Terri are intent on overunning Falcania on their own. The Emperor's Children, as they call themselves, want revenge on the man who overthrew their corrupt and unlawful throne.
