Hello this is John Sanders of Nationstates News Network. Tonight's top story takes us to Leafanistan. A literal "Father knows best state" where it is ruled by an eccentric dictator who calls himself High Father. Today with much fanfare High Father announced old Belgian made FN FAL rifles currently used by its standing army of 400,000 are being replaced. A few months ago Leafanistan announced intentions and bidders stepped up. Among the favorites were the:
Swiss with their SIG 550

Italians with their Beretta AR 70/90

And Americans with their M16

High Father shocked all the powers at hand when a Russian delegate arrived and High Father proudly announced to much fanfare that the AK-104 is to replace the aging FN FAL rifles.

Neighboring countries become skittish and increase their troops along the borders. However High Father assured the people that this is not an act of war nor a prelude to war but mearly a modernization of a defensive army. A delegate from a neighboring country who wanted his anomitiy replied bluntly: Bull****.
In a related story Leafanistan's state owned 'Duran Technologies' has sent out plane tickets to investors possibly to show off their latest development. Sources claim its a new heavy tank with a powerful cannon. That is all for now, now onto Samantha with the weather. Samantha?
