NationStates Jolt Archive

This 'Earth' is set in the year 1974. Thus, all nations will go by their names at the time, rather than their modern name (i.e., Zaire instead of Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rhodesia instead of Zimbabwe, South West Africa instead of Namibia, etc.). Instead of 'Vietnam,' there will be two separate ones, North (communist) and South (anticommunist). There are a few simple rules to follow:

1.Nations are given on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you show up late and say, "Ooh, I want !" when someone else has already claimed it, SOL. Even if you are an ally, there are no exceptions to this.

2.You do not have to RP your nation acquiring these country (or countries), though it is strongly recommended that you do so.

3.Do not make unrealistic claims (i.e., a nation with a population of 5 million saying, "Ooh, I want the U.S.S.R.!").

4.If you are a godmoder/modder, n00b, etc., your requests will more often than not be denied.

5.If you have additional questions, [i]please TG me and do not post them in this thread. I don't want the thread cluttered with questions.

6.If you are already on another Earth, you do not have to move to this one. If you already own a certain country on a different Earth, you can have it on this one as well, provided it has not been claimed.

7.Five countries is the max, unless you claim the U.S. or the U.S.S.R., in which case you can have that country and two of its (small) allies (i.e., no "I want the U.S., Great Britain, and West Germany). You cannot claim the U.S. and the U.S.S.R.

8.You can, of course, invade another nation's territory to try to claim their land.

9.All RPs on this Earth must take place between 1974-1994. However, modern-tech weapons/vehicles/etc. are allowed.

To help any RP's I do involving CWE remain (somewhat) realistic, does anyone know what type of military equipment would be found in a Western/American style army at this time?

OOC: I know that there would be F-4 Phantom Jets, M60 tanks, M16A1 rifles, M14 rifles, Colt Commando rifles, probably Grease Guns for SMG's and Huey helicopters......

I know Russsia had the MIGS right??

OOC:Yeah, basicly anything used in Vietnam is still in service, and some of the newer stuff (F14s, F111s, ect.) were just starting to enter service. (well, F111s were used in Vietnam towards the end, but in limited numbers, and I'm not positive about the F14.) Since the Carter administration didn't get elected in CWE, you'll be seeing stuff coming out earlier due to more funds, and stuff he cancelled IRL ( e:the supersonic B1)

Panama played a huge role in helping the Sandinistas take power in Nicaragua. Perhaps we could do an RP of that sometime.

I am quite sure no one has claimed it, and yes it is a country that frankly had a lot of sway in during this period...I claim The Vatican.
