"... no terrorist organizations have taken credit for the bombing as of this time."
The old anchorman fixes the pile of papers on his desk, and then continues on. A picture of a handsome, smiling middle-aged man with slicked-back dark brown hair floats over the anchor's shoulder. This is the current president of Nowhere Place.
"In other news, the Democratic Republic of Nowhere Place opened up itself up again to the international community after months of political turmoil. In the first international statement from the country in more than four months, Nowhere Placean President Mark Dulane extended his hand in friendship toward the other nations of the world. Here is a portion of his international address."
*Photage of the address*
"Nowhere Place has found itself in a very tricky situation since our last president, Artemis Clark, was assasinated just before leaving office. Much that we worked to achieve with the other nations of the world has been reduced to dust during the confusion. Many countries withdrew their officials. Embassies were closed down. We were absent from the United Nations. We, in turn, closed ourselves off from the rest of the world almost entirely.
We therefore find ourselves, at this moment, almost totally alone in the world. We are behind the events of the rest of the world. We need to once again establish who we are in the scheme of things.
It is in the utmost of sincerity, then, that I extend Nowhere Place's hand of friendship out to all who will take it. We mean no harm; we only wish to be a part of the international community again."
(In OOC terms: Heya all! I'm back! I recognize a few people, so I'm not totally lost, at least. I'm glad this place is still thriving. :D )
