Outside Tenochitilan,
The Premier's Estate
The Premier looked down into the open engine compartment of his muscle car. Above him, a dull light emitted from a lamp. He stuck his hand into the compartment, reaching for the dipstick for the transmission fluid. He had been so busy with government affairs as of recent, it had been ages since he was last able to do something he wanted to do - fix his car.
He pulled out the dipstick - transmission fluid was a little low, but in the normal range, still, it could be higher. He grabbed a bottle of transmission fluid and put in a couple of ounces.
His girlfriend, Angelica walked in. She got his attention and said "Quetzalcoatl, you have been asked to report to congress immediately."
Quetzalcoatl turned to her and said, "Do those men get any sleep?"
She then said, "Well, the request comes straight from the DCP Caucus, signed by Jorge Arroyo."
Quetzalcoatl sighed, "When does my party not need me. Alright, I guess I'll have to go then." He looked down; his jeans and his t-shirt were smeared with motor oil and grease. He then said, "I guess I'll have to clean up first."
As he began to walk towards the door to the bathroom, she asked, "So, what was wrong with the car?"
He said, "Ahh, the distributor cap and wires had to be replaced. I also checked the fluids, it should work now."
20 minutes later, he got out of the shower, put on clean business attire and walked back towards the car. He then said to Angelica, "Hey, I'll see you later. I'll probably be back in a couple of hours." He then kissed her and got into his car and turned it on - success, the motor started.
Quickly, Quetzalcoatl drove to the Grand Union Chambers in the heart of the city. It only took him 15 minutes, but he was very curious about what his party's caucus wanted to say. Usually, the Soviet Congress had nothing to do with the Premier. There was no animosity; it was simply a tradition.
Once the Premier got to the building, he got out and looked around. It was quiet and rainy. Quetzalcoatl walked into the Chambers and walked into the Caucus's chambers on the basement floor. Inside were several prominent figures of the ANL government.
"Greetings, Quetzalcoatl", said Jorge Arroyo, the Congress Majority leader. "We have requested your presence because we want to go through sweeping changes."
Another Congressman spoke, "For far too long, the ANL has been an centrist nation. We barely resemble the beliefs we started out with. We want this to change."
Jorge Arroyo began to speak again, "Premier, the DCP has the majority of the congress 3-1. We have to power to transform he government without resistance in Congress. All we ask is for your authority, as Chief-of-Party, is your permission to re-establish ourselves as the shinning light for socialism."
Premier Quetzalcoatl was too tired of this moderate government. He said, "Alright, let's talk."
For hours, the Caucus talked over plans, courses of action and goals. Finally, 5 hours later, they agreed to set their plan into action.
A satisfied Jorge Arroyo said to the Caucus "By the end of today, the economy will be completely transformed."
The all cheered and began to leave. Quetzalcoatl walked up to Jorge Arroyo and said, "Will the other two Caucuses know of this meeting?"
Jorge Arroyo said, "They will know we have met, but all things said and planned are secret."
The Premier nodded and made his way back to his car, then headed towards home.
Finally, around 5 AM, he got back home. He pulled into the driveway and was let in by the two JWI troops at the gate. He drove on, parked in the garage and went inside the house. Angelica was asleep on the couch, TV on. She woke up when she heard him.
"Uhh. Oh, Quetzalcoatl, you're back. How was your meeting?"
Tired, but pleasant, Quetzalcoatl said, "I'm fine. The meeting went very well. Today, Angelica, major things will begin to happen."
