PRESIDENT'S OFFICE - PRESIDENTIAL BUILDING COMPLEX
Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Federal Republic of Canada
President Anthony R. Wittrock sorted out the papers on his desk as he readies himself for his State Address to national and international viewers of this broadcast.
The Press Secretary, Lisa Schaap talked to the camera man about taping the broadcast as she looked over at the President, "Are you ready, Mister President?"
"Ready, when the camera man is, Miss Schaap. By the way, hows your boyfriend doing?"
Schaap blushed lightly, "I do not have a boyfriend, Mister President."
"I thought you did?" The President raised an eyebrow, "Did you break up with him?"
Schaap shook her head, "Mister President. My personal life at the moment does not concern you. What concerns you right now is addressing the majority who re-elected you as President."
"Alright, Miss Schaap. Let's get things rolling, I hate to waste these good people from CBC's time, I am sure they have to go tape the Canucks game tonight."
The camera man smiled, "I'm a Victoria Knight's fan, Mister President."
The President laughed, "Good for you. Now let's get this thing rolling."
The Press Secretary stood behind where a small tv was to watch him to see if he looked photogenic for the cameras, "Looking good, Mister President."
"Thank you, Lisa."
"On the hair in... four, three, two," she gives the President the gentle point towards him to start.
"Good afternoon to my fellow Canadians who are listening to my Presidential State Address to the Nation at this time. Right now, I would like to thank the Canadian voters who turned out to vote this federal election, those who have voted for me, to Senator Hurtig who did a good job in the weeks of campaigning and debates, and finally to our Service men and women who are here in our nation, or serving abroad.
"There are a few things, I would like to address to you as President. After the recent terrorist attacks, my Administration will be creating a new government agency to learn of terrorist attacks against our nation and people world wide. This speaks out over the nuclear attack of our former Capital of Calgary. The bombing of a cargo ship filled with chemicals that killed thousands of people in Downtown Vancouver. The bombing of the CFNS Richmond. And the attack of on one of our embassies. This agency will be apart of both, the Canadian National Intelligence Agency and the Canadian National Security Taskforce.
"We will increase our financial aid to nations that are in great need. We'll dispatch our national guard to nations that are striked by disaster.
"We will be creating a forum of citizens of our nations to bring suggestions to our Congress and Senate, and to this Administration. Because we believe it is of great importance that our nation practices democracy.
"Following this will be another statement made by one of members of the Administration or myself. Have a good day."
