Excerpt Report Log: 1-7-2005 NS+7 - 1735 Hrs PST Local

From: Star Colonel - 303rd Evangelon Striker Cluster

Duty actions of the day: With your graces Advisor Kamiki.

At 0300 Hrs MST local, elements of the 303rd/A of the 303rd Cluster began active measures to bring forces into the new colony, in support of the treaty that took effect at 0001 PST local.

The first OmniMech to pass the previous Washington state line demarcation was Star Captain Harad's Timber Wolf. As expected, the only resistance we recieved was the heavy snow as we moved into Spokane heading west. The rest of the Cluster waited for 303rd/A to give the code (approproately) white signal that no hostilities had been encountered.

At 0345 Hrs PST local; 0445 in Boise, sich a signal was recieved. The rest of the 303rd Cluster, as well as the 2003rd White Angel Guards Cluster began phase two.

In essence however, the only active resistance we recieved, was from the weather, with a reported six inches of snow along most of the trek to Point Sapphire about 17 klicks east of Seattle. The prime 'agitiator' in respects was melting of snow into the leg actuators and Endo-structure. The worst affected was Point Commander Sinclair's Turkana, when some of the melted snow caused a freeze up.

It took us about twice as long therefore to move troops in, an issue I wish to address at the after-action debriefing.

Both Clusters moved along the I-90 cooridor. Spaced out at 5 mile intervals in 2x2 on both sides of said highway route.

All indications from limited transmissions from elements of the 42nd Goddess Archon Wing that shadowed our approach as best they could, indicated, as we found out, the storm front ran up to Point Sapphire. Apparently the sky clingers had a decent amount of trouble from the weather as well.

Someone needs to tell the Climatizer technicians to lay off the sauce they are sewing the sky with.

As for local populace contact, other than the ocassional brave commerce driver, the highway was pretty barren. Most of the contact we encountered was after we arrived at Point Sapphire, 1323 PST local, and were greeted by a few curious onlookers. A representative delegate that managed to brave the storm also was there to help guide us to Point Gamma, where Fort Lewis is located. Arrival there was at 1452 PST local.

Currently, Caste technicians that arrived after we secured the site, are determining what upgrades of immediate need the potential base needs. By tomorrow, we should know if this Fort will be suitable as a Mech base.

I advise that Dropship supplies use gamma-infrared sensors to approach, as the weather will only improve by 35% by local forcast. (Hopefully we can change that soon, 'if' the Science Caste does their jobs right.)

When the weather improves, we will begin scouting for communication generation points. In the meantime, we should take the oppritunity to discuss our immediate needs with the local goverment.

To be candid however, we should address the weather issue quickly, as already there's worry of starvation in some regions due to impassibility conditions. I will ask for volunteers to help clear cirtical areas, as this will help us understand the terrain as well.

At that, I conclude this report, with all due fatuge.
