Press communiqué from the Ministry of Trade
Baltic Karelia has adjusted the price of Nickel. In our mining area at the Kola Peninsula we have very large natural resources of i.e. Nickel. We produce about 15% of the worlds nickel demand alone here in Baltic Karelia.
Over 60% of the worlds total primary nickel production is used to make stainless steel. The second most important requirement for nickel is in the production of high-nickel alloys, used in high-temperature and very corrosive environments, particularly in the chemical, nuclear and aerospace industries.
The new price for Nickel is 50% higher that before the adjustment. This adjustment is due to a larger demand.
Baltic Karelia hopes that our allied neighbors of Gintonpar will follow and adjust their price to the same level. Their production is almost as big as ours.
The world's second largest producer of nickel is Australia, and on third place you'll find Canada (the worlds largest producer is RL Russia).
Other raw materials mined in our Kola-area may follow this price adjustment later.
