Approximately eight hundred miles south of the most southerly tip of the Free Republic lay the once powerful nation of Phyrric, in what was once the region of Antiquities. The Free Republic and the nation of Phyrric had always been very close, even the strain of a Phyrric nuclear device killing thousands of Vaadians had only temporarily diminished the good will between the peoples of the two great nations. The Phyrrus had apologized, explained and the Free Republic resumed their relation with the only foreign nation in the Free Republic that actually had a double digit approval rating.

Turmoil swept through Haven, and then through Antiquities. The nation of Phyrric was no more, The Phyrrus was gone. Once powerful cities such as Corcyra and Rome were left to virtually fend for themselves, becoming city states. The turmoil did not even affect the coast of Phyrric, the Naval Guard of the Free Republic stepped in instantly to secure what had been left unguarded and trade continued as always. The peoples of Phyrric were not alarmed. The Naval Guard had defeated the uprising of the tyrant Antiachus and returned rule to Phyrric, seeing Naval Guard ships was a great comfort.

The days moved by swiftly and the various Phyrric factions came together in Corcyra and along with their old friends in the Free Republic forged a new plan for national unity. National elections, a new state, unity and prosperity. On this day in January the Velite Guard were arriving, armed with their most fearsome weapons, state of the art satellite linked voting machines.

General Demetrius, one of the heroes of Corcyra and now Corcyra's elected Governor stood at the docks watching the giant Velite Atlas transport dock, it was winter, in this mediterranean type region it meant cooler winds, rains and rougher waters , but it was not unbearable. The Atlas could easily berth in Corcyra, the Battlesip Alexander had been bigger than this transport and Corcyra was one of the few places an Atlas could dock comfortably.

General Demetrius smiled as Velite General Yash Ihsan made his way down the gangway , they saluted and General Demetrius gave General Ihsan a pat on the shoulder.

"How are you today Yash? " he paused looking over the Atlas and waved to his men to help the Vaadians off load. " Not exactly calm seas I see?"

Yash nodded " Well Julius, I never liked sailing much and the rolling didn't help, glad to be on firm ground. You and the other Governors have the roadmap that was agreed to by you, Governor Aeacides , Governor Flavius and Sir Alec?"

General Demetrius nodded "Yes, elections here will coincide with elections of the Free Republic. On the ballot will be all three Governors and a plebiscite on whether to request entrance into the Free Republic, if the plebiscite on both Vaadian and Phyrrican ballots are yes, then we become the newest Republic of the Free Republic and the elections winner becomes Governor of the Republic of Phyrrus, if either of the plebiscites is no, then the elections winner is the new President of the Free Republic of Phyrrus."

Yash nodded as he and Julius walked to the waiting cars "Yes, either way it will be a great day for Phyrrus and the people, to have their voices heard nationally and to choose their own path."

Julius Demetrius nodded and smiled "All Power to the People."

Yash nodded "All Power to the People. "

They moved into the cars as the Velite Guard and the Phyrrican home forces off loaded the Atlas , there were preparations to made for elections in February.

OOC: I had a score to settle with him, I had a war with him, and though I won he did kill thousands of my citizens and soildiers. However I wiped out one of his allies entire population (356 million) without nukes, and I killed a hell of a lot of his troops. Still, i still want revenge.

<<OOC: You're giving a homage to Phyrric? I always felt that he was something of a stubborn prick who didn't listen to anyone, refused real diplomacy, was incredibly sure of himself and... oh... gotcha.

In Phyrric there was a lively public debate as to whether or not to join the Free Republic. The Three Governors of Phyrrus, General Demetrius , Governor of Corcyra and it's territory, General Aeacides, Governor of Rome and it's territory and lasty Governor Flavius, Governor of Sicilia, were split as well. Both Demetrius and Flavius favored annexation, but General Aeacides was set against it.

All three set their forces to work for the current task, setting up for elections. All three candidates wanted a mandate of popular support to assert their power over the other two, but Flavius and Aceacides were at a disadvantage, Demetrius controlled the most populous sections of the nation and was well liked due to his social policies that tended to look after everyone, and not just his political cronies, Vaadian support ws also firmly behind Demetrius.

The elections would, to say the least, prove very interesting.

OOC: I suppose you could meddle in elections to get some form of revenge? Maybe assassinate someone, or something? I try not to stand between a man and his revenge.

Things in Phrrhyus were moving along quite quickly. In just about every locality the Velite Guard were totally unhindered in setting up satellite linked voting computers and training local poll workers how to use them and local police to over see their operation.

The rivals General Demetrius and Governor Flavius were at least united in their call for yes vote to join the Free Republic of Ilek-Vaad, they were campaigning , in essence to be the Republican Council's chief administrator in Phyrrhus. Most people had decided that annexation was ultimately inevitable and did not have any real issues with it.

The noted exception was General Aeacides, he was busy preparing a robust campaign to deafeat annexation and his rivals , as well as return Phyrrhus to it's former glory, his speeches were full of nationalist rhetoric and pining for the days of empire.

His planners were busy, rallying the people and even rallying their military components, as they were.

General Aeacides had his supporters and they would not go down without a fight.
