[Earth III] Marshall Islands to be converted to military use

After laying claims to the Marshall Islands (http://eed.llnl.gov/mi/images/map.gif) Thrashia has sent one of its Space Fleets to establish the Troops and machinery needed for the set up of a military outpost on Earth III.

Factories and shipyards are already being constructed for the production of ships and other military equipment. Some 1,200,000 clone troops are being sectioned off as garrison for the islands under General Manfred Model, newly appointed commander.

The main base is located on Kwajalein, where areas are being cleared for the purpose of an airbase. The island of Namu has been appointed as the Naval base and shipyard's location. The island of Ailinglapalap has been picked as the main base of communications, it being where reports go out and in to Planet Thrashia. Each Island has a certain amount of infantry stationed there.

The Ratak Island Chain, inside of the Marshall's, has been converted to AA camps and training facilities, as well as all the islands not picked for a major base in the Ralik Chain. (Confirm yourself of this by looking at the map link) The Air Defense system which was so recently constructed on Thrashia is now being constructed here in these islands.

Admiral Alabar has also outfitted some 700 Swift-class fighters from his fleets to be fitted for in-atmosphere use. Using small nuclear engines. Their pilots have been stationed along with the garrison.

OOC: Since some of the nations of Earth III are modern tech I will build some modern tech ships, fighters, and weapons in case using FT weapons and ships is seemingly unfair.

OOC: I just noticed that no one had any presence in the Marshall Island chain and since Parlim, one of my allies of sorts, had by this time already established himself in Hawaii I thought to emulate the idea. I intend just to use it as a base of operations for the interests of my country in Earth III.

30- 105mm Grand Cannon Harbor Cannons

- The 105mm Grand Cannon is a powerful new gun emplacement. In batteries of two, inside concrete firing bunkers, they have been placed strageticly all over the Marshall Island Chain. With a range of 3 miles, they have been able to overlap. Although powerful they have a slow rate of fire, 1 round every two minutes; to allow the barrels to cool. Crewed by 10 clone troopers the Grand Cannon is a terrible foe to face, able to sink most major battleships.


200- Phalanx AA Turbo Laser Cannon

- The Phalanx is most basicly a ground copy of the laser cannons present on Thrashia's space fleet. But because of its fast rate of fire, 45 laser bolts per minute, the Phalanx was created. Radar guided, the Phalanx has a range of 25 miles and if used extensively must be re-charged by its dihydrogen batteries. 3 Clone troopers are needed to man it.


250- Arch Angel AA Missile System

- The Arch Angel is the newest in Thrashian Missile technology. With a range of 30 miles it is able to cover most of the 40+ miles of radar capabilities. Heat seeking as well as computer guided the Arch Angel is a most deadly weapon. It is crewed by two Clone troopers. Because of it has only four missiles ready and primed for use small depots exist near by each where large amounts of the ArchAngel missile is stored. The warhead of the missile is equal to the power of a Cruise Missile.


400- 75mm Heavy Machine Gun Turrents

- The 75mm MG turrent is one of the heaviest defensive armements against a enemy landing. Scattered about in the best defensive postioned the turrent is only in a sense the periscope of a sub. Underneath each is a small compound where the three Clone troopers who man it stay, as well as where massive amounts of munitions is stored. The gun is capable of a firing rate of 400 rounds per minute, if at this height its barrels must be exchanged every 20 minutes, but most Clone troopers are under orders to keep their fire rate under 200 rounds a minute, so the barrels need only be changed every hour.
