The banquet laid out in front of the Shah, the Satraps, and the nobles of Parthia was immense. Hundreds of dishes were laid out on tables creaking from the weight of the gold plates. Rice and chicken seasoned heavily with saffron were passed out in massive quantities with kebabs of beef and lamb and dishes originating from foreign nations. Great bowls of beluga caviar were sitting on every table only to be consumed quickly and replaced with more. Wine flowed from bottles into golden glasses only to be drunk by a tipsy noble. The Shah was clearly pleased with the work of the palace chamberlain and his careful planning. Unfortunatley, he had no idea that his food taster was not working that day... he had been kidnapped by part of the conspiracy mounted against the Shah. Inside the kitchen, one of the last members of Tudeh, Parthia's illegal socialist party, was putting arsenic into the wine goblet of the Shah before bringing it to him. The Shah was delighted with more wine and guzzled the entire goblet within a second. Suddenly, his stomach began to wrench and then, quickly as it had went down, the Shah vomited up the entire contents of his stomach. The quickly sobered Shah snatched the waiter's neck in his powerful grip before the Immortals came to beat the offender unconcious before dragging him away into the palace dungeon for later interrogation. The goblet was taken away for testing on what was in it before they came up with the answer, Arsenic. Apparently, the would be assasin had added too much into the goblet, expecting only a small sip rather than the total removal of the wine. That large quantity caused vomiting while a smaller dose would have surely killed the Shah. Now all that remained was to unfoil the conspiracy underway in Parthia.

The next day, the Shah and two SAVAK agents went into the prison for the interrogation of the prisoner. In the corner of his cell, he sat there shaking as the SAVAK agents dragged him by the ankles into the torture chamber. Inside there, the family of the assasin sat there chained to the wall quivering in fear. The Shah asked a few questions first, "I don't think you know how much we know about you. Apparently your DNA was on file along with your profile in the police files. That was a bit suprising to us and it helped us track down your family, Mr. Omar Al-Tikriti. We don't normally allow Arabs out of the ghettos for anything other than meaningless factory work or other jobs the Aryans won't do and I don't understand how you got into my kitchen as anything but a janitor, but nonetheless, I'm creating new security policies to insure this doesn't happen again." The Arab looked terrorized as the SAVAK agents removed the cloths covering the torture devices and started up a fire where metal poles enting in one rounded tip on one end and a wooden handle on the other side. One agent was sticking the rounded end into the fire while another SAVAK agent was holding a small switchblade. The Shah then looked at the unfortunate man, "Are you Muslim? The Arab looked at him as if the fear had gone from his face, "I am a Catholic, I was converted by missionaries passing through the Ctesiphon ghetto." The Shah snickered, "what I want to know is if the Catholic Church had anything to do with this." The Arab looked up adamantly, "I will never tell." The Shah snickered and gave a quick gesture of the hand, and then, the SAVAK agents began to unchain the unfortunate man's family and placed them on various devices. The Shah snickered at the man, "Confess or your wife gets racked." The man began to speak, "No, the Church was not involved, I...." The SAVAK agents started turning the wheel and the wife began to let out a hideous shreik as the rack stretched her. The Shah screamed at the man "CONFESS WORM, CONFESS NOW!" The man was sobbing in terror, "Yes, they said to do it." The Shah screamed at the man "Who is they?" "The bishops of Ctesiphon and Persepolis" screamed the man in terror. "Was it an independent action? Or did a higher clergy member order it?" Asked the Shah. "No one higher had any knowlege of it!" said the man hysterically. "LIAR" screamed the Shah. With another gesture, the other SAVAK agent cut off the man's shirt while one brought the red hot iron pole up before pressing it against the man's chest, making the assasin give off a massive scream. The man then screamed, "It was the Pope, he ordered it and gave assistance to Tudeh so we could do it in conjunction with the Church." The Shah looked pleased, "Give me the name and adress of every Tudeh member in the nation you know of and a source with the rest of the names." The man nodded, "I shall, but what is to be the fate of my family?" The Shah groaned, I'm going to release them if you comply, though you will be beheaded for trying to kill me, if you don't comply however, I'm going to have you and the rest of your family tortured to death." The man nodded and within an hour, the list had been compliled. The man had been transferred with his family into a different cell, if the list was correct, the family would be released. Now, across the nation, SAVAK agents were preparing to launch Operation Justice, which would destroy the conspiracy growing within the Shahdom.

Tabriz, Parthia 5:00 AM:

300 members of Tudeh had been singled out for "dissapearance" before the SAVAK forces were even deployed. The targets were to be rounded up along with their families and taken outside of the city where specially placed killing fields were prepared along with mass graves hidden in the mountainous areas outside Tabriz. A total of 1000 SAVAK agents had been prepared for the strike on Tabriz's Tudeh members alone, 3 heavily armed agents for each household. All of the targets were within the Tabriz ghetto, the area of the city reserved for the non-Aryans and walled off from the better parts of town.

Tabriz Ghetto, 5:10 AM:

The strike teams rolled through the streets in their specially modified Bradley IFVs. The vehicles had been redesigned to accomidate 3 policemen and up to 7 prisoners in a seprate compartment. As the assault vehicle pulled up to the first target on the list, a residence of a Mullah with the name of Mohammed Al-Tikriti, brought from Parthian Iraq to serve the other Muslims working against the righteous and holy Zoroastrian government of Parthia. Now, he would face death for his crimes. As the shanty which he lived in came into view, the drive quickly spinned the vehicle into the flimsy structure, collapsing it as the other two SAVAK agents jumped out with M-27s at the ready, pointed directly at the cowering figure and his wife and children sitting on their prayer rugs. The first agent began to laugh, "Get in the vehicle now or I kill the wife and kids." Within seconds the ropes had been tied around the wrists of the wife, the mullah, and his four children before being packed into the cramped prisoner compartment. All across the ghetto, the other teams had picked up their targets before driving outside of town to the rally point.

5 Miles outside Tabriz, Sunrise:

The final teams had arrived with the last few prisoners. A total count of 310 Tudeh members, and 722 family members, including 605 children was recorded before final phases of the operation began. With everyone accounted for, the guards brought a group of 100 traitors up to the edge of the ditch and then as the guards ran back to a safe distance, the a chorus bradleys' cannons opened fire, killing the 100 within three seconds. Again, the process was repeated, spilling another line of corpses on top of the others. After nine more, the prisoners were all lying in the grave dead, and bradleys mounted with dozer blades began to push the dirt back over the traitors' bodies. The secrets known now only to the SAVAK agents.

As the bodies of the last Communists of Parthia were cooling in mass graves, phase II of Operation Justice was about to begin. It was Sunday that day, the tiny congregations of Catholics were gathering for church and entering one of 20 Catholic Churches in Parthia. A total of 4,304 Catholics lived in Parthia, and by the days end, many would be martyrs. In the church of Persepolis, the bishop of Parthia was presiding over the mass while a train of black SUVs and riot vehicles parked outside and set up a perimeter around the church. A few rounds of tear gas were lobbed through the windows, masking the entire church with a choking cloud of gas. Loudspeakers blared, "Attention, this is SAVAK, we have determined you to all be hazards to national security and have the option to renounce your faith and surrender or be killed. First, those who wish to renounce should step outside with their hands up and lay upon the ground. The rest are to be herded into paddy wagons. Within a minute, thirty of the two hundred members walked out and laid down upon the ground. They were taken to a special transport to take them to the Bearau of Records so they could remove their status of Catholics. The remainder in the Church resisted in the tear gas clouds filling the church. Finally, two M1 Abrams tanks crashed into the Church and then, the M2 machineguns opened fire, cutting the remainder down. In other churches, the scene was repeated. 3,550 Catholics were dead, 523 Imprisoned and the rest renounced their faith. The Bishop of Tehran was the only remaining cleric not yet killed, and the excecution was planned for the next day.

The unfortunate bishop was brought into the Shah Ardashir Memorial stadium on the back of a pickup truck, around him, a crowd of angry Persian Zoroastrians filled the seats of the stadium, used for both athletic events and brutal executions. On the caged bed of the pickup truck, he clenched the bars of his travelling prison as crowds screamed in both Persian and Avestan, "Death to the Heretic! Kill the Traitor!" Several minutes later, having driven around the track surrounding the stadium, he was driven to the center, where a platform had been prepared and layed out with a variety of torture devices and execution tools. 300 of his followers were to die today, half by beheading and half by breaking on the wheel. The bishop was to be publically tortured and then disemboweled, a brutal sentince used only for the worst traitors. Within a few minutes of being brought onto the stage and chained to a chair, he was forced to watch as headmen removed the heads of 150 of his flock with quick strokes of a scimitar while the others were slowly killed by having their limbs and chest smashed with a slegehammer. When the last of them had died, the pain falling mostly on those still bound to the wheel, it was the turn of the bishop, who was placed laying face up on a wooden table. His arms and legs were tied down and then, with a stroke of a hammer and a careful position of nails, heated iron spikes were driven under his fingernails and toenails. The poor man screamed in pain as the executioners then took a heated iron rod and then pressed it against his chest after the other had unbuttoned the bishop's shirt. Again, the red hot iron was pushed in on the bare chest of the poor man, burning his flesh and sending a smell of charred meat. With the man still bareley concious, a machine with tightly wound wire held between two poles capable of being raised and lowered were positioned over the man's abdomen and then, slowly lowered. The wire descended onto the stomach and then slowly sliced him apart over ten seconds. It was only a few seconds, however, before he had died, an enemy of Persia was dead forever.
