The explorer ship High Exodus was jumping through the warp, looking for habitable planets for new Colonies. The Imperium had been expanding ever since the Empress had reunited the Planet Valara under one rule and Fully established control in the system of the Pheonix Flame. Already they had expanded to five more systems. For each system, a new chapter had been founded. The navagator was rather tired, but they where doing this in the name of the Empress. They entered one system when they found a class 1 planet. Smiling, he ordered the ships corse to be directed to the planet. The ship started to move towards the planet, scanners managed to pick up forms of life. All findings where given to the ships Psyker, who would then get a message to the Empress. What they found bothered them. Xenos had a civiliation on the surface, they waited for orders.

The Empress detected the infomation coming through the warp and smiled, one more world. She listened to the scan reports, and decided to try and talk to the Xeno's. Having no proir expriance with other sentinet species, she, nor none of her subjects, knew how to procede. She ordered them to land on the planet and try to orginize peace trieties with them. She sighed, and sent an order to all chapters to muster half their force, she ordered Guard regiments to gather the same amount. Should negotiations fail, then they would be able to take the planet by force extreamly quickly.

The Prophet warned them even as the craft tore through the atmosphere; speaking in garbled tongues of 'strangers from the stars; who serve a throne of steel and a fist of iron'. The Brunnen G warriors had mobilised quickly; and within the hour, Stinger's had already been sent forth.

The Leader, steering his tiny craft; looked out over the world; his home; as they dove through the air, headed for the location of the strangers.

"My brothers; we prepare for peace or for war; but do not let your guard down...These strangers could be our very doom at hand"

The High Exodus Cut through the atmospheare, heading towards the largest concentration of people when they saw the stingers. They where a strange mix of Technology and Bio-organic things. The control deck sat at the front, followed by a fish/scorpion mix body followed by the Scorpion tail. The search ship was a larger version of the Idolator, one of the smaller ships of the Imperium. It put out a message on all channels.

-We reprisent the Empress, who founded the empire using steel, her iron will allowed her to unite us to a common goal. Now our peope expanded our borders, we wish to ask would you join the Impium of man? Would you help us unite the galaxy under one rule?

Heliora, Inquistor of the Milistrom-

All was spoken in High gothic, a language spoken throughout the higher classes in the Imperium.

-We are the Brunnen G; great victors in Mankinds ancient war with the insect civilisation. We have fought for many years; ever protecting freedom and liberty. Even when our homeworld was seemingly crushed by the Divine Order; some of us escaped; here, and survive still-

The craft landed and the leader stepped out; clothed in highly colored and ornate clothing. His dark hair, ceremonially styled; came down in decorative strands; and upon his cheek was a tattoo; symbolising the journey from the Dark Zone to the Light Universe.

He bowed lightly.

"We have no quarrel with you; but we shall not bow to a foreign ruler. Nor submit to the will of an Empire that seeks only to engulf and subsume."

The High Exodus also landed, the Psyker in control walking out. Flanking her where two Space marines, who where, although it could not be seen, female. The Psyker stoped, the marines anstep behind. The Psyker was a strange one, her long hair a copper red, her skin as white as Chalk. She listened to the man, then sighed.

"We wish mearly to unite, your people would be able to rule themselves," She said in a voice ligh and sweet. "The only time life will be different is when the Empress calls, and that will be rarly. This world is prime for life, the first in many lightyears, we wish mearly to help this planet." She sneered, her voice gone cold. "I belive you do not even know how to getto speeds to get from one system to another. We could give you that, could we not?" She smiled, her eyes betrayed something though. "This world will be ours, none will be able to stand against the Imperial might." She waited.

"Long ago; our ancestors fought a foe beyond reckoning; leading humankind to a great victory in the Dark Zone; bringing about the end of the Insect Empire. We fled from the Dark Zone when our great sun threatened to supernova; and came to the light zone. Eventually, we were driven back, to here, this galaxy. So do not tell us that we lack the technology to cross space."

The leader stepped forward; eye to eye with the Psyker.

"Not even the stored memories of our ancestors shall move from this place. We shall fight you, even if it means our own demise. It would be a good way to die; for we will never yield to a foreign ruler. Never."

OOC Your chaos, how casn you talk?

IC The Psyker smiled, her face showing small lines of age. She tried to gleen the infomation from his mind, but found nothing. She shrugged, war would be imminet. She held out her hand.

"We are sorry to hear that, please expect an attack at one time or another," She said plesently. "We will have this world, you can be sure."

With that she turned, heading towards the Frigate. Once she was inside with her marines she took off, sending a report to the Empress. She never lived out of the Atmospheare.

The Second Psyker directed the ship back to Valara. A grim face. The Psyker's body was thrown into the waters of the dock, no care given.

"What did she do My lady?" THe Psyker asked the Empress.

"She disobayed my orders" She said, frankly. "Gather the Guard, get the Dark Avengers Marines ready as well, I want two thousand marines, eighty thousand guard and twenty thousand Navle members mustered on the fringe in five weeks. Understand?"

"Yes Mistress." Said the Psyker. The Empress Gathered Two Primarchs to assist her in her stratergy.

So it was to be war...

The Brunnen G, half shocked at the news, began their preparations. The planetary shields were once again raised; and all non-essentials, like civilians, where huddled into underground living complexes.
The Brunnen G army mobilised, comprising of ground troops and stinger assault teams; readied for the coming storm.

Above the planet, the planetary defence networks kicked in; mostly focussed around the Foreshadow, a vast weblike structure. Defensive turrets dotted the strands, while the whole thing glimmered with a sinister energy; as it slowly faded out of sight. It was a marvellous weapon; a left over from the Brunnen G wars of old; a design stolen from the Divine Order; and perhaps the only potent space weapon the Brunnen G yet possessed. It was capable of raining down sheets of energy upon its opponents; primarily for planetary destruction...Yet for all their time in isolation; the Brunnen G had not yet used it.

The time was now...

Five Weeks passed, and the armies had gathered. Eighty thousand Imperial Guardsmen and women, two thousand marines, all female, twenty thousand Imperial Navlemen. Many ships had gathered, which had one Apocalypse Battleship, two Empress Class Battle ships, 5 Vengence class Crusers, 10 Imperial Standered Crusiers, 25 Cobera Class Frigates, and 6 imperial Transports. The Marines where using their own fleet which consied of one battle barge. The Ships moved into a lance formation before entering the warp. The ships moved slowly, and it took them one Terran week to get to the system. They arrived further away, almost three hours into any type of battle. They then started to move towards, the Imperial fleet had arrived.......

A dozen Stingers had gathered; darting and wheeling about space as they turned, diving and ducking through the web-like structure of the Foreshadow.
The mighty construction turned; aimed towards a small moon; the web seemed to crackle for a moment; and then a vast sheet of green black energy formed; roaring with noise as it crashed into the surface of the small planetoid. The surface charred, blackened, cracking under the onslaught of the attack; before the Foreshadow turned towards the incoming fleet; the Stingers hovering about it.

"Behold the power of the Foreshadow. Turn back invaders; The Brunnen G wish not for war; but we shall fight you if we must."

The Empress looked at the moon with indifference. SHe noticed the weakness of space power, and could not cotain her glee. The weapon was powerful, but if the fleet spread out, the thing would have diffuculty hitting them all. Smiling, she sent out the order. The ships spread out, far enough the weapon would only be able to target one at a time. The smaller ones screening the larger ships. The ships moved forward slowly, but within a few minutes they where in range. The Larger ships opened fire with partical lances and the smaller cobras let forth four torpedos each. The hail of fire flew towards the huge weapon.

Meanwhile some ships let out fighters, including thunderhawk gunships and Valkrie fighters to take out the opposing stingers. The battle had begun.

"Target the flagship"

The Foreshadow shook at the Particle Lance impacts, as the main weapons charged again; firing sheets of raw energy towards the enemy flagship.
Stingers dodged and whirled through space; firing their missles at the incoming fighters; zipping among them as they reloaded; a hideous scream echoed through space as the enemy weapons tore through one; sending electronics and innards out across the canvas of space; dotting their battleground with insect debris.

"All fighters! Arm and aim for the flagship; it is our one chance..."

The three cobras screening the Flag ship where cut apart by the second shot, but the other ships saw the danger of the station. While the station had targeted, the ships had readied to enter the warp. When the shots destroyed the cobras, the Flagship, the battle barge and the two flanking Emperor class battle ships entered the warp. The Empress Made all ships get into a position she fetl was appropriate, then signled for them to drop out of the warp.

THree of the most powerful ships in the fleet matirialsied behind the Weapon. The ships then brought their full power to bear. Torpedos, lance fire, thunderhawks engaging, is fire was increadble. The battle barge was also becoming ready, it would soon be in drop pod range.

Explosions rocked the Foreshadow, crippling the majority of its webbing just as it got off another shot towards a random ship, before falling silent, useless...
. The Stingers moved and fought in futility, before the weapons of the Imperium tore them to shreds; and below, on the planet; the army readied for war; armed with ornate blades; and energy pistols....Here; in their homeworld; they would fight and outlast this strange nemesis from the skies....

The Empress was suprised how easy that was, then she sent out her orders.

-All ships, use the failed weapon. Use the landing docks on its webbing, we will make it a supply station. Navle crew use it as the rest point, Battle barge, you are good to launch pods. Transports, good to launch dropships.-

She then moved her ship above the planet and got into her personel drop pod with five Marines in Tactical Dredonaught armour. They droped heading towards the area they had chosen to start the attack. Fire bases where droped, along with Sevitors and Techmarines. The war had really begun.

The Marine Drop pods fell screaming from the sky, they landed with a thud on a platu a fair disance away from any major city. The Firebase soon droped as well, and Sevitors and Tech marines started to set up the preconstructed base. The Base included a large number of Heavy bolter Turrets surrounding the area. After they had put together the CHapter Fortress, they began on hundreds of different buildings, drop pod reciver units, Machine Cult Landing pads, Landing sites for the Thunderhawks and other air units. Within a day, the main base had been set up, and throughthe night Pods and dropships landed, while Marines worked on making trenches. The Force was still mainly in space, but they could drop down more often now.

Inside the CHapter Fortress the Empress and her two Primarches worked with the Guard Commanders on their stratergy. They needed to keep this base, then they would move on the nearest city. They needed to juggle defencive forces for the main base until they gained control of a city from where they could defend much more efficiantly, this would be the difficulty.

The Brunnen G gathered; fortifying the walls of cities and mannign defensive stations; ready here to outlast their foes. The great people waited; watched, examining the horizon with bated breath and preparing for the inevitable.

War had come; at last; the great devourer of life had arrived, and they faced a foe with whom they had no true quarrel. An enemy who wished destruction upon them now. Regardless of the cause; they would fight now.

The ceremonial Fight Song echoed on the winds; the feeling and emotion of the Brunnen G race poured forth, by a great and ancient race now faced with despair and annihilation.

The base was ready in less then a week, able to defend against a fairly large force with only two hunred Space Marines and ten thousand Imperial Guard. The Empress had been ordered to stay behind and guard the base, under the rule if things went bad before they captured a city she could telaport into the ships and get out of the battle zone. Thus, the two primarchs, One thousand eight hundred Space Marines and Seventy thousand Imperial Guard, including crew for armoured units, set out towards the nearest city *WHich Is?*

The Empress sat in the Monestary Fortress, which had been surrounded by Bolter, Meltagun and hull guns. She looked at the departing army gloomly, feeling that it was unfair she was not able to assist her own people. She sighed, everything in a cirtcal with the radius from the Platue to the nearest city had been maped out by the ships, and they would be warned beforehand of any attacking incoming. She smiled, before walking to the armoury.

The Army moved out, ten percent of the huge force where part of the Adeptus Mechanicus. A further one percent had been left at their new fortess, containing the Navy Units that would perform tatcial bombardments at stratigic points. The Primarchs lead their respected Chapters, who moved at the front and core of the colum. Soon the Armies would reach the city, soon......

Pouring forth from their strongholds; the Brunnen G warriors hurled themselves into the fray with a fury. Energy weapons blazed; sending blasts of energy forth against their foes; larger versions of the weaponry studding the walls of the citadel; firing forth in a cannon fire hail of death. The Stingers swung in; bombarding the ground with missles as their strange new foe advanced against them. They would show them death; they would show them honor and courage; and their foes would know that they fought Brunnen G; the saviors of humanity; the ancient warriors of long forgotten lore.
