Horus Heresy (RP thread)

It is the beginning of a new age for the Imperium of Mankind. The Warmaster of the Imperial military has been seduced to the side of Chaos, his mind is set on mastery of the Imperium.Warmaster Horus has attracted fully half of the Imperial Military to his cause, and inflicted defeat after defeat on the weakened Imperial Guard and Adeptus Astartes. The Traitor Forces have made their way into the Holiest Segmentum in the Imperium, the Segmentum Solar, known to ages past as the Sol System. Reinforcements flock to aid the God-Emperor in defeating the traitors, and set up great defenses on their planets.Legions of Titans prepare to do battle over the ruined surfaces of worlds long considered holy.At the centre of it all:Terra, the seat of Imperial power, home of the government of the Imperium, seat of the Adeptus Custodes, Adeptus Administratum,Adeptus Terra and countless other bodies dedicated to day-to-day tasks.
The Emperor paced along the length of his throne-room, mulling over the summaries of his reports.Traitors were flocking to the Segmentum Solar, and there were rumblings of disconent amongst the Adeptus Mechanicus of Mars.Soon Terra itself would be besieged if the Loyalists did not act quickly.
"...and in conclusion, we require the Adeptus Titanicus to...My Lord, are you listening?"
"No, sorry.I've been thinking about the battle here. Soon it will be open battle on the holiest places of the Imperium and we can do nothing but defend. We need a plan, a plan to kill Horus."
The assembled leaders of all the Loyalist troops were here, great Primarchs and relatively unknown Colonels, Admirals and Captains. All gathered.
"Will you help me plan?"

Chaos...Chaos is a living force; a vile and flowing power, oozing sinisterly from the warp; tainting all who touch it. But those who embrace it; are as terrible Gods upon this plane.
Thus was Horus.

Standing upon the bridge of his flagship; he gazed out past the idly moving moons of Jove; and looked towards the shimmering sphere of Terra; heart of the Imperium, pumping the blood of loyalty through a realm that should already bow and whimper at his feet. He was Horus; arch-Champion of Chaos. He had scoured worlds; sacrificed millions to his Masters dread cause; and now, he was here....The Segmentum Solar.

"We are divided from Terra by the rest of the solar...The Adeptus Mechanicus will oppose us at Mars; and other forces, loyal to the Emperor will gather at Terra; already they prepare defences. They are wise; but we are all the wiser."

"Aye, Lord Horus."

"We make for Terra; but we shall leapfrog, bit by bit; sparking war in our trail. Others will be occupied; drawn in, and the final goal shall be ours. Contact the others, make sure that our brethern know that now, we must unite"

"Yes, Lord."

"We begin..."

The innumerable soldiers of the Imperial Guard stood in front of the Imperial Palace, on parade for the Primarch Roboute Gulliman. Gulliman was just leaving the system to help in the Ultramarines' crusade in the fringes of the Imperium, and according to history, he never went to the palace.
The blocks of troops marched by the palace in perfect formation, none of them oblivious to the fact that within weeks many of them would be nothing but corpses, blasted apart on some 'holy' site on Mars, or a meteor crater on Luna. They all knew that this would be remembered as the bloodiest war of Imperial history, and many names would be remembered as heroes, many forgotten, others reviled as traitors.
A Warlord Titan plodded past, a massive temple to Imperial power.
The War has yet to truly begin

Captain Garro of the Sons Of Horus Space Marine Chapter lay in his lodgings aboard his ship, The Eisenstein deep in thought. His finest lay around him, many deep in prayer to the God-Emperor, the saviour of mankind. Garro was gruffly proud of his men, their devotion unquestionable, even here in the outer regions of space, so far from Holy Terra, the heart of mankind. The men were preparing themselves for battle. Primarch Horus had given the order to prepare for conflict. Garro knew not and cared not who the vile enemy were. The mere fact that they opposed the Emperor made his blood boil with righteous anger. The Sons of Horus were lead by the Emperor's favourite son, they were the best, the most faithful, and none could defeat them. Their faith as unquestionable as their aim, none could be believed to be higher in esteem. Garro smiled to himself, proud to be among such loyal company.

Lord Ragen Paranoia, king of the desolate volcano planet Rage has heard the emporers call and has brought with him on this small voyage to defend the Imperium 5,000,000 Bruningi Royal guards.

Duke Atradies

I have come in response to your call 100,000 of my own men have undergone the transformation to full space Wolf for your personal army. The rest of my armed forces already being from a 50X normal gravity planet are as strong as any space marine. I look forward to do battle with the evil scumb. No doubt that your phsychers will pick up my mens and I personal evil power energy signal you can forget it quite easily, for we use dark powers to combate dark ways.

Lord Ragen

PL: I have walked umong my men and have realized that they don't expect to come back from this battle. I know now that the space wolves our are best part of our force for they are the only armored force of mine. Unfotunatly the rest of my men wear IG armor and sport a bolter, a powersword, and a storm shield. I regret to say that my men are probably right... None of them will survie but as for an immortal physic like me, I will never die.... But that doe not mean we will win this fight....

Dylan was in his office. Frantic efforts to shore up Sol's defences was already under way. The blasphemous rebels would soon invade Sol. Leting lose a tide of destruction on countless soul that resided in the system. Undobtedly in the battle to come Terra would be the main focus. However with a full half of the military having been corrupted by the Fallen Horus it was inevitable for some jibbering servant of the beyond to lead his soldiers to Venus, in an attempt to curry favor. However any attacker would have a hard time assulting the hive city carved into the crust of Venus itself making them all but imperivous to bombardment. Combined with the imense pressure and acidic atmoshpere making it impposible for most infantry to survive on the surface. Any Son of predition foolish enough to come here would pay dearly.
occ/wonder were i put the list for my regiment and it's fleet support.

The edge of the system was a cold, vast place. The center star, the Sun, was a speck in the great beyond visible from the stations of Neptune. Here dwelt the Iron Warriors; their headquarters, at least. They had laid violent claim to various moons in the vicinity. The conflicts had been swift and sweet, and little attention had been drawn to their actions. The Chaos Gods hadn't lied to Lord Perturabo when they said that their presence would go relatively unnoticed in the building turmoil of the Imperium, even with the proximity to Terra. That vile planet, home to the false Emperor, the only being--human at that--in the known universe with the power to threaten the Chaos Gods.

The Iron Warriors had time to build their defenses and fortify their new territory. Only a serious combined effort of multiple Space Marine legions could hope to purge their presence. And that wasn't counting the reserves in wait lightyears away. Yes, Perturabo was confident. He wasn't looking forward to fighting alongside the forces more singularly commited to any Chaos God, or especially daemons. He was highly prejudiced in favor of his soldiers and their siege skills, as were virtually all of his men...if you could call them that anymore.

No, men were humans. Humans were inferior. His blessed forces were far more than men now...and he intended to show it in the coming crusade that would surely eclipse the wars of millenia past combined.

Leman Russ looked at the huge factories of Mars. The Greatest forgeworld in the empire. He smiled as his wolves set up their defences, working out what parts of the planet they could give up. He could barly contain his laughter, the Vain sons of Horus would try and take his planet, thining the factories will hamper my movement. The Mars Forgeworld had been designed with a twin perpouse, to maxamize building capabilities while being easy to defend should an invader get to the heart of the Imperium. He smiled at the fact he would be able to build his men more weapons as time went on, while the enemy would be harrased at all times. He then got onboard His battle Barge, to cheak space defences. He loved the fact he was raiding distance from Terra, which would allow him to attack the Traitor legions from behind.

As usual I left it up to Jurgen to find me a suitable chimera transport. As well as leaving it up to Colonel Kasteen to set up the defensive positions around the city block. The 597th had been quartered in a small city section of Terra, and more to my dismay, that small section was one of the main paths to the Imperial Palace. Reajusting my pistol in its holster I walked over to Brokelaw who was overseeing the construction of sandbag pits on the street corners and making sure there were heavy bolters in place. With only one main street coming into the area, there was no doubt of were the heretics would come from.

"Commisar, you think we have a chance?" Brokelaw looked at me. Of course we would be shot to hell, but thats not what a hero of the Imperium is suppose to say so I went for the usual, " Yes Major I think we do, just make sure those bolters have plenty of ammo." I smiled at the Major to give him some confidence then went among the other Valhallan troopers making sure they all felt some support from me.

A rumbling and a distinct smell anounced that Kurgen had arrived with my transport and I mounted up. Getting a clear view as 2,000 Valhallans made ready for the biggest threat since the Tyranid Hive Fleet Behemoth. My palms began to tingle as I ordered Jurgen to take us back to the small command base were Kasteen was holding a conversation with the newly arrived 2nd Armoured Platoon of Leman Russes.

OOC: Sorry for the length of me not posting…
BTW, Thrasia, you do know that Hive Fleet Behemoth came WAY after the hours heresy. Sorry, just wanted to mention that.

IC: [I]Soon, soon those ignorant fools will be shown that we are just as great as the eldest. We reside along with the sons of iron in the shadows of Neptune. The siege of terra will be one of the greatest battles of time, the sons of hours move to destroy the craven lord of the false imperium and the gods of chaos shall be ascendant. Mars must be taken first, their forge worlds and STCs will be greatly appreciated, but first, the journey must be made.[I]

Skalthrax was pacing in his private quarters on his battle barge. The only thing that gave away his dedication to chaos was a small eight star of chaos, which was embellished in the wall. His lord and primarch, Alpharius was with the bulk of the chapter away in the eastern fringe, Skalthrax had been given command of these warriors and ships to aid in the fall of terra. They had arrived a short while ago and taken up residence on Uranus’ moons, and began constructing various fortifications, things like ravines and valleys, along with tunnel networks. A small group of ships, three strike cruisers (can’t find what ships we got, it disappeared, but I assume we have at least three) were sent wayward to mars, if conflict hadn’t started, they would sow the seeds of discord, if it had started, then the fools following the emperor would pay for their ignorance….

OOC: Any good? I tried explaining why Alpharius was somewhere else, but these guys are, is it acceptable?

I looked over the breifing slate, breaking an age long habbit of ignoring them, and studied what our defense was. Brokenlaw was definetly thorough in his business. Eight Heavy Bolters were placed in stragetic positions all across the area, a mortar battery (6 mortars) placed on a low building some 300 meters back from the entrance to the plains, chest high sandbag bulwarks set up all along the road sides with steps behind them, sniper postions made, and tank traps set all over the road. He'd even strung a line of trip wires all across the first 20 meters of road, each connected to 30 kilos of plexi-explosives and chain mines. The Leman Russes were in small allyways and half hidden by buildings and camo.

You'd think it was over kill, but then I thought we could use about 200 more mines. I also took a liesure night walk finding all escape routes out of the area in case a retreat was in need.

I set the slate down and looked over at Kasteen and Brokenlaw who were themselves discussing some tactics. "-I agree, we should place another fire squad there." Kasteen looked at me. "Well Commisar, what do you think of our defenses. My first thought that sprung to mind was, terribly inadequite and under strength. But then I had a reputation of heroism to live up to so I said, " I think we'll be fine, the Major here seems to have everything in hand. I doubt anything will get through alive." It was an awsome understatement but they lapped it up and instilled some courage in them which is what they needed.

"If you two don't know I got in contact with Inquisitor Amberley and was able to aquisition some 300 Hellguns." Hellguns were of course very powerful las rifles, far better than the standard Guard rifle. From the look on their faces it was like the Emperor handing out gifts.

"Excellent, I can give those to Sulla's company, she's positioned where her fire will be most effective." They continued on about where would be the best place to position the last few. I walked out to see if Jurgen could get me some recaf.

OOC: The Imperial Fists were at the fore front of the defense of Terra; I assume that I can have them stationed there? If not say.

IC: Rogal Dorn paced the walls of the Holy Palace of the God-Emperor, his men were stationed along the wall. The chapters that had arrived were taking up positions along the wall and inside of the walls. Dorn checked the skys once again, still no sign of the traitors. He removed his helmet and hooked to his waist, glad to breath the holy air of Terra.
"See anything, brother?" Dorn said while turning to a battle-brother with an Auspex,
"Negative. Nothing. Where are they?"
"Patience, young-one." Rasing his voice so all could hear, "When they come, they shall meet the Imperial Fists! They shall meet Death! And we shall kill these heretics where they stand! The Emperor protects!"
A loud cheer came up from the Imperial Fists, causing others to look at them.
Lowering his voice again, Dorn aksed Brother Damial, "See anything?"
Damial turned to Dorn, angered, "No. I shall report when I do."
Little did they know how close the enemy are....

Chaos Cruisers, Frigates, and Transport ships made their way across the system. The goal in mind was to conquer a few extra moons on the way to their true first destination: Mars. Other planets would be avoided, as the Iron Warriors had no desire to waste resources in their relatively unimportant capture. Doubtless, other heretic armies would capture them in due time.

Lord Perturabo stood on the bridge of the Capital Ship Eviscerating Spear. The gloom of the expansive chamber was lit only by the soft glow of screens, key runes, and the stars of the universe. He peered out of the reinforced plasteel viewing canopy. He was deep in thought, using his extremely limited Chaotic psyker powers to plan the coming invasions. The crew had been ordered only to report to him of nearing the first target or of approaching enemies. He had a very short temper, as displayed by the well-rotted carcass on one of the decorative spike-posts around his platform. The smell that came from it pleased him, and it made other crewmen remember to be wary.

The first moon that he had deemed strategically significant was Titan. It was held by the Prosperan 13th Imperial Guard. While the Imps, as the Iron Warrior Marines liked to call all Imperial Guard weaklings, were fundamentally inadequate, except in the best of luck, at holding anything again Space Marines, especially the ones of the glorious forces of Chaos. It would be good practice before assaulting the moons held by the more powerful Blood Angels.

The great crusade was about to begin.

Garro sat bolt upright in his chair on the deck of the Eisenstein , sweat trickling down his forehead. Word had reached the Sons Of Horus of several traitor fleets attacking the Emperor's forces, causing havoc across the system. But now horror befell Garro and his men. Here in front of him stood a messenger from 'Warmaster' Horus. All forces were to move upon the local Imperial Guard regiment world, Serinatus, to cleanse and occupy. Garro forced down the bile rising in his throat, not believing that they, the Sons Of Horus, could possibly be part of the traitor movement.

"Will you be ready?" Garro looked up into the eyes of the traitorous messenger, seeing evil in his eyes.
"We will never fight for Chaos, we will never betray the Emperor. You have your answer!" he spat at the scum before him.
"Then you will die, weakling!" The messenger raised his knife and made to plunge the blade into the loyal Marine Captain. He was stopped short by a bolt pistol round passing through his head, and his body slumped to the ground. Sergeants Baros and Vatsky strode through the door, the latter with a smoking pistol in hand.
"We heard everything, Captain."
"And what of our brothers?"
"We heard a few hundred attempted a rebellion, but were annihillated quickly. None survived. We are all that remain loyal, Captain."
"How many are we?"
"Seventy-one in total. Yourself and sixty-seven of your personal guard, plus 3 that made it from Horus' guard detail - Specialist Brothers Ramenov, Dukov and Dolohov."
"Prepare the ship, we must leave now. The Emperor must be warned. We are all that are left."

"My lord, and friend, Why have you awakened me?"

"I would not have unless the need was great. The former-warmaster Horus has succumbed to heresy. He and half the Space marine chapters have betrayed our great emporer and are making war on him. We must stop these heretical, blasphemous sons of Kroot now or the entire empire will fall. That is why you and all of your armoured breathern are being awakened. We will fight them off!"

Abaddon paced before the Sons of Horus; inspiring them with his speech.
"Brothers; know that we will triumph. Know that our names will live forever. We will bring down the tyrannous rule of the false Emperor; and they will know the Wrath of Horus! For why should a distant figurehead be greater than he who has lead us to victory! Why should the Emperor of Man be any greater than the father, Horus; who has lead us this far! He told us that the galaxy would burn; and until our foes are vanquished, by the Gods it Shall Burn!"

Roars of approval came from the crowd; as they readied for battle. High above; Horus sat in his throne room; watching space pass by.
"Send message to all the legions loyal to us....Tell them their Warmaster and Emperor bids them unite with him. The time is now; tell them we embark for Terra. And we shall not leave, till the palace is levelled. KIll everyone. Leave no soul alive. Purge as we go; spread chaos and flame throughout this Solar" He hissed.

Thanks to Jurgen once I again I had a ready supply of good food and no slate work until the battle. I did however tap into my hero reputation and managed to get an update-by-update of the incoming herectic fleet. And boy was it looking bad. Kasteen and Brokelaw had already added an extra 4 heavy bolters to the defensive positions, bringing the total number of heavy bolters to 20. I was happy to see them but I'd still rather have a few Baneblades backing them up.

I'd been trying to get Amberely, usueful as her status as inquisitor, to aquire some melta guns for us to use in case of armour. I didn't trust the four Leman Russes that were positioned around the area to be the most affective ways of killing off heretic armour. But I'd also set Jurgen to the task, and he'd scrounged from somewhere a few plasma guns and one melta. Brokelaw put them in the position most likely to be of use.

I walked out of my office/dugout and looked around, watching as the men made more sadbag pits and firing positions. I even began to hope that if the heretics by chance didn't pass us by that we might even stand a chance. I was even more elated when Amberely joined my position later that night with 40 Sisters of Battle, as well as a company of Kashkrin stormtroopers. Brokelaw once again saw to the positioning and billeting of the new arrivals, while I took miss Amberely to the nearby bar.

Dylan was in the field command post. He had moved here less then an hour ago as reports came in from outer planets of attacks from the traitors. He was no leaning over the table were blueprints for the spaceport district were strewn, Because the entire city was underground they would have to come from the spaceport. It was half a block away that Dylan and his command squad were with the mortars from the regiment.

Luckily the spaceport sector had ceilings big enough for the use of mortars. In building across from the main gate to the space port three lascannons, and nine autocannon's should be setting up. This left the other two battalions a little short on heavy weapons but they also gaurded much samller exits. They still had there full complement of meltaguns, so they should be able to hold there own.

As he was sitting here the Stormtrooper company was busy seting traps inside the spaceport compud, which had been closed. They had taken all the regiment mines and quite a few grenades, plus all the blasting charges from the tunnel expansion project. If all was done right the traitors numebers would be reduced dramticly before combat actually started

The engines on the Eisenstein flared as tthe ship rocketed off away from the world below. News of their loyalty would have reached Horus, they would die if they stayed any longer.
Garro looked around the bridge. With him were the most loyal of the Emperor's men, their faith holding fast within Chaos' evil clutches. "All secondary power to the shields. We must make it through." The orbital barrier lay ahead. "Brace!" Macro-shells and multi-lasers smashed into the side of the ship, rocking it to and fro, sending sparks and flames everywhere.
"Sir, shields at 40%."
"20%!"
"Shields failing!"
"We're almost through!" Garro screamed. The ship burst past the Destroyer class gunships, the hull littered with holes and burning wreckage. "Fire the warp drives."
"But sir, Navigator Calfus is too injured. We'll never make it out alive!"
"It's the only chance we have Sergeant. Put us into the warp."
"Yes Captain."

--Several days later--

The Eisenstein came out of warp, the engines failing with the last astronomical effort.
Garro was the first to speak, "Status report Sergeant."
"Engines and shields offline. All we have left is basic life support."
"And casulties?"
"Navigator Calfus is dead sir. As are all the serf-labourers."
"And Marines?"
"All alive and unharmed."
"Good. The dead should be honoured. Their service to the Emperor is complete."

IC: The Battle Barge of the Imperial Fists was nigh empty, only servitors and Imperial Guard left on the ships. They were enough to defend the planet. Admiral Xython paced the bridge, waiting for the Traitors. He was begging to wonder even if there was a civil war, then, suddenly a ship appeared out of warp.
A servitor snapped into action and a voice came from the lifless mouth, "Ship inbound. Operation?" Xython stopped and looked at the screen.
"It's friendly, intercept and dock." he moved to the comms console.
This is Admiral Xython of the Imperial Fists. Your ship seems to be crippled, we are intercepting and docking. Any hostile resistance shall be met with force, you have been warned. The Emperor protects!

The front of the golden palace was bristling with weaponry. millions of mines dotted the are around it, massive Titans could be seen in the distance, and Imperial Guardsmen walked around the front, digging trenhes, or sitting in trenches, or just loking at trenches. Miles of razor-wire scarred the front, and the ornamental gardens at the centre were bulldozed, and used to place Basilisk artillery guns. The actual front was a mass of lasguns, flamers and meltaguns. The best equipment in the Imperium was here, all ready to defend. The Adeptus Custodes themselves gathered in the Throneroom, watching their Emperor, talking in reverent whispers. There were rumours about the size of the Heretics forces, and the rumours were bad. The guardsmen were afraid, and there was Heresy amongst them. A few men had been shot, and a whole coven was burned, but a few remained. The 12th gothic fleet had heard rumors of a mass rebellion and were heading towards the Segmentum Solar to help bolster the planetary defences of the planets around terra, all comm lines were open incase any imperial forces called for support. Fleet Admiral Horratio hadn't recieved any order as to how to proceed and so was heading towards the segmentum solar to inform who ever was incharge of the navy that his fleet had not betrayed the holy god emperor and was ready to destroy the heretic scum, And onboard one of the smaller escort ship some executions were taking place, there was a small group of heretic cultists who were going to gather their strength then mutinize, luckily some loyal crewmen discovered and informed the captain who had the cultists killed. And their heads impaled on spikes infront of the door to the main bridge.

"Honourable Primarch, there is heresy afoot! I'm afraid it runs much deeper than a few rogue legions. It is with utmost shame I must confess it is Horus who leads the traitors. He has almost fully half the Space Marine chapters at his side, and he sides with the foulness of Chaos. With him go all Imperial Guard Regiments that were under the traitor primarchs' rule, save the few loyalists who now lay perished. The men aboard this ship are all who remain loyal to the Emperor from our Chapter, we believe other loyal brothers have perished. We came through much toil and danger to bring this message to you, Honourable Primarch. Do what you will with my men and I, but promise me the Emperor will be told of Horus' treachery. The Imperium is at stake. he must be warned, to summon all those still faithful to him. He must be warned"

Lion El'Jonston gazed out of Pluto's atmosphere. What else was going on? What was amiss in the world? He sighed. Why had he chosen to come here, to fortify a last outpost here? It was very difensible, but cut off.....he walked back inside. It was a consequence.

IC: The 12th gothic fleet had been traveled in many long warp jumps to the outskirts of the Segmentum Solar,

"Sir we're just withing broadcasting range from Pluto." The Comm officer was nervous. Everyone had heard the rumours of traitor legions. And there was no way of knowing if Pluto had friendly units or vile traitors.

"Send the following message on all channels: 'This is the 12th gothic fleet we are here to bolster any planet's defence if it needs it, and we would like to know the scale of the heresy.' Hopefully they don't blow us up as traitors.

Sangiunius looked at the assembled company. 3,000 men stood before him. 5 dreadnoughts, 2 of them furioso, walked among the men. The devastators were checking thier weapons, the assualt marines were checking their jump-packs. The holy bolters of the tactical squads were being cleaned by each marine who had one. Three land-speeder squadrons were doing tests on their systems. The chaplains were walking among the crowd, offering prayers to the emporer, reciting the litanies of hate, talking with their fellow marines, offering them spiritual guidance, the apothocaries were checking their supplies of drugs, and the techmarines were helping with the adjustment of the many vehicles the chapter had. They were getting ready for war. The other 7000 men of the company would stay behind to defend Janus, Mimas, and Baal.

Sangiunius flew to the podium in front of the assembled men. They formed into their ranks. When they were finished Sangiunius began to talk.

“Today we have recieved word of a terrible heresy. Horus, warmaster of the imperial forces has betrayed the great emporer and goes to make war on him, with his legion. We, as loyal, pious men, shall go and purge that corruption. We shall attack one of the bases of the traitors. They control many moons of jupiter and we are going to retake them in the name of the emporer. Our first target shall be the moon of Leda. Get to the landing ships for they shall take us to our battle-fleet. We shall depart now. For victory, for the emporer!!!”

Garro breathed a huge sigh of relief. Dorn had accepted his words and relayed them to other forces in the vacinity. Garro looked to his men, all standing in rank, without being ordered to do so. Each and every one of them had taken personal responsibility on himself for their Chapter's Excommunication, and all were willing to die to redeem it.

"My men. Most faithful brothers. We have witnessed treachery we had previously deemed incomprehensible. Now we shall fight, and die, with honour once beheld in our Chapter. I am Captain Garro. You are the Eisenstein Seventy. Together shall we wreak havoc on all in our way. Together will we go to the Halls of The Emperor. Today we fight!!"

The men gave a roar of pure, raw emotion and belief. Across the ship heads looked around for the source of the noise. Garro and The Seventy still were loyal, and none would stand in their way.

Titan fell fast. The stupid imps had no chance against the pounding guns of the great Iron Warriors. Lord Perturabo had watched it from space, eyeing the masterful sieging and following advances with an evil satisfaction. Humans were dying in the name of Chaos. It wouldn't be long before the Space Marines followed suit, and then, ultimately, the Emperor himself.

"Bring in reserves from the Warp and have them fortify this moon. I suspect that we shall be hearing from the Space Marines very soon. We're quite close."

"Yes, Lord!" the crew yelled in apprehensive unison. The Chaos Lords were inferior in status only to the Greater Daemons and the Gods themselves. They held powers of fear, pain, and suffering in almost incomprehensible supply. Perturabo was no exception, and the crew knew that.

"My liege, a transmission has been recieved from Warmaster Horus."

Perturabo swung around with his Dreadaxe, cleanly lopping the head off the heretic who brought the news. He turned to the rest of the crew in the bridge, his voice snarling and deep.

"That's EMPEROR Horus to you maggots!"

He turned back to the viewing gallery to stare at the surface of Titan. Half of the moon burned while the other half already had signs of Iron Warrior fortifications. He yelled to no one in particular, knowing that his command would be met.

"Open the channel."

In a few seconds, he could hear the overwhelmingly strong, powerful, evilly majestic voice of Horus. The transmission called for the unification of the Chaos Marine Legions. Perturabo knew this was coming, but he didn't like it all the same. Some of the legions didn't quite click with him. For now, however, there was a greater calling, and he would submit.

"Send out a limited-range message on all frequencies. Let's see who else is around here. Then we will ally with them...for now."

OOC: Ok guys, lets get the story moving again. My situation is that Garro and the Seventy are prepped and ready to fight, but i think we need Chaos to make a hit on somewhere, set off a chain of world invasions etc etc. This has started off well and it would be a shame to let it fall away. Sooooooo.....

IC: Garro stood on the bridge of the Marcunis, surveying the situation on the data slate in his hand. He was unfamiliar with the ship but the Eisenstein was in no able condition to fight. The Seventy had accumulated what little gear they had. His force organisation was limited, they had no time to gather equipment when they fled from Horus. He frowned as he read the data slate:

"The Blood Angels are one of the few things standing between us and Mars. They shall fall."

The words rang through the mind of Chaos Lieutenant Markutio. He would be leading the attack on the Blood Angels. His course of action was simple: maintain a distance in battle and his Marines' heavy weapons would wipe out the foul False-Emperor's soldiers before they had a chance to use their close-combat skill.

"No boarding actions. Smash the enemy's ships with everything we have and keep the battle far. Then we shall land on Mimas. Once that falls, it will be a small issue to deal with Janus."

Markutio glared at each of his officers, both naval and surface combatants. The directives were simple and clear. Failure meant death and an eternal hell unimaginable even with their souls already damned and suffering. For the true Gods, they would reign. For Lord Perturabo, victory would be achieved.
