Skipper Missile research

today i have decided to invest in Skipper Missile technology, meaning that im going to stat research on a new missile capable of jumping through space to preset destinations, that will then search out and destroy the most harmfull enemy ships, or speace stations.

creating missile technology like this will help keep the helgahst fleet out of the range of harmfull ships, seing as my ships rely mostly on personal defense to get to a planet and launch ground troops immediatley.

when produced, these missiles will be sent in volleys to a planned invasion planet to destroy any space resistence. so that the initial attack will be clear of any and all obstacles.

but to do this new engines will have to be manufactured for the missiles, the current power source will have to be made more efficient, as well as a sophisticated computer program, that can connect with the other missiles and determine prime targets and attack patterns as well as an avoidence system.

I am proud to post that a computer program has been devolped for the missile. it will be able to communicate with other missiles, using a sophisticated encryption system, distinguish between enemy and freindly forces, and dodge any incoming fire. Simulations showed that it performed flawlessly and a test demonstration using regular missiles, outfitted with the computer program, were launched in volleys at a number of dummy ships. though their was a slight bug in which one of the missiles changed course and almost hit a civilian ship, the problem has since been corrected. also a major accomplishment that one of of our programers tried to put in, and was succesfull, the computers were able to distinguish the most vulnerable parts of the ship, using infared technology.

To get an idea of the tech required, we're talking a missile that is the size of starships. That sucker is going to get shot down easily.

Whoever said it supposed to be big? It's a defense missile.

not really anything can be simplified into a smaller form. look at mobile phones they were these huge freaking things as big as my head. now their ity bity little bastards that i could fit into a pocket. and nuclear reactors. the U.S. Navy uses them in their surface ships, and submarines.

so it may take time but where theirs a will theirs a way.

my researchers have advised me to use a sonic charge war head, like they used in star wars, they explain to me that when detonated it will send a shockwave that can penetrate through a ships shield without problem, because the warhead would emit a sound shockwave and not a regular explosion like a nuke would.

what do you think?

Sound doesn't travel "that well" through vacuum... thats what I think...

You need to fire those researchers real bad! ;)

You might want not to equip those missiles with sound-based warheads, as it doesn't travel in the vaccum of space. Star Wars is total crap.

ok then what would you suggest

well I dunno. It sounds like your missles, which are totally capable of flying thousands of lightyears through space, and singling out the most vulnerable parts of ships (that undoubtedly have high-priority secrecy about their plans) simply by using infared technology, and eliminating any and all resistance, and that can fit all of the stuff required to deliever the computer/engine/targeting systems/destructive payload into a tiny package are allready pretty cool. why not godmod... er, I mean leave them the way they are?

lol i knew their were people that were gonna say that i was god modding with these things.

its not unlikely that a missile can pick out the most vulnerable parts of a ship, the vulnerable parts are usually the parts of the ship that are less armored, like a fighter bay or, the bridge, since most people have picked out ships with bridges that are clearly visible typically on the top of the ship, exposed to incoming fire.

its not going to be small a missile, its just not going to be as big as a ship, maybe larger than a long range scout plane, i set that rule up about it because as demonlordenigma explained it would easily be shot out of space.

and it doesnt eleminate any resistance it flys through to the most prestine targets ie big ass space stations or cruisers. their will be no defense system on it capable of dispatching a fighter group, it will simply maneuver from the many targeting systems that are already on it.

in effect in the modern world has the same technologies, the millitary has technology that detects when an enemy aircraft has locked onto a friendly fighter, how i dont know maybe someone can explain that to me. and even in todays games computer AI is capable of doing the same thing, although alot of times the filthy bastard computer cheats.
