Ask Pacitalia! (open) - our policies, government structure, anything!

Pacitalia

I've received many telegrams asking me what Pacitalia's stance on certain issues is. So, I feel now is a good time to have people ask and clarify for themselves these issues and the stance that Pacitalia takes on them. You can ask anything about Pacitalia: foreign policy, domestic policy, government structure, facts and figures, military, alliances, allies, embassies and consulates, cities.

Go ahead and ask!

If you're leader's mother were sold into slavery for booze money, how would you feel?

What is your stance on nations that have committed genocide but have not been brought to trial for it, despite them being UN members?

What do you think of the idea of space-travelling nations?

How much wood would a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood? Please give metric measurements only.

What is your opinion on biological weapons?

"We ask, why did you ban anime?"

We banned anime because it was proven through many studies and plenty of research that this form of art had led to a solid increase in sex crimes. We'd rather have safe people than have anime if that's what it's going to do to people. The ban may be lifted, but not right away.

Thank you for your question.

1) No comment.

2) The government of Pacitalia feels that any leaders of nations committing genocide should be brought to tribunal to explain their actions, along with any of their subordinates and any others that helped organize and carry out missions against their own people.

3) We don't usually interact with nations of future tech or space-travel, so we don't have an opinion on this.

4) We estimate it to be up to 51kg. Give or take 300 grams.

5) Biological weapons should only be used as an extreme last resort. Even then, we frown upon their use.

Thank you for the questions.

"It is just like what they said about video games after Columbine. Perhaps those studies did not take into account that those who committed sex crimes after watching anime were mentally insane? There are calm, rational people who like and enjoy anime."

That is true, but our legal system is sound and fair. We cover all angles. I agree that it should be the mentally insane that are committing these crimes, but the rape incident wasn't. That man was a respected, well-rounded stock broker.

"Perhaps, but it was one stock broker. Not all fans are like that, sir. Most members of my group are actually quite lucid and have a clear, distinct grasp on reality, and are capable of forming normal relationships with other human beings. They are indeed disgusted at this sight, and rape is punished in our faction by summary execution. You sir, seem not to grasp this. Your legal system may be fair and just, but if it truly is, frankly, it doesn't need to be augmented by a restrictive law that impairs a form of art."

OOC: Which I gave. Let's get serious again here...

IC:

I understand your position, Mr. Ayasugi. However, we don't execute people for raping someone. We feel executions are becoming a thing of the past except for the most serious of crimes, and although rape is a serious crime, there is no doubt; there are more serious ones. Like I said, your beliefs on this issue are respected and taken into account but our decisions are final and there is nothing that will change this unless we decide so.

Pacitalia doesn't ally with other nations automatically. I recommend that you join one of the many alliances around on this forum, such as the Empire of One (see my sig). However, if you're interested, we can exchange embassies to start. You can see the link in my signature for that, as well.

Do you outlaw any foods?
Do you recomend any food for a tourist?
Will you invite me for dinner? ;)

Our national foods are pasta, vegetables and lamb. We only ban foods if they pose a health risk to our people or may be damaging to the environment or ecosystem due to ingredients etc. All Pacitalian food is good, we recommend it all! And yes, you are welcome for dinner! Just telegram the Prime Minister and set it up if you want to.

When you choke a smurf, what color does it turn?

Does fuzzy logic tickle?

Do blind Eskimos have seeing-eye sled dogs?

Do they have reserved parking for non-handicap people at the Special Olympics?

Why do they call it a TV set when you only get one?

Do radioactive cats have 18 half-lives?

If you shoot a mime, should you use a silencer?

What was the best thing before sliced bread?

Wait, a serious question! A couple!

What are your feelings on genetic cloning? Allow, banned, government monitered?

How important is the environment to your nation?

Do you have any social/welfare programs in that capitalist country of yours?

1. We are currently neutral on the issue. We feel that when we get concrete proof from scientists that this process may help the human race in the end, we may support it.

2. The environment is very important to Pacitalia. Without it, our natural resources and economy would not be as plentiful, prosperous and strong. Plus it is a major attraction for tourists to our nation that we cannot take for granted.

3. Social welfare is non-existent in Pacitalia. It is our belief that if you slack, you deserve what you get. It is also our belief that in general, your work habits and your drive to succeed determine what you eventually end up with. There are fewer than 100 people over the age of 14 (min. working age) in Pacitalia with incomes of less than D1000/year, and they are treated with such extreme disrespect that they have become hermits.
