OFFICIAL NEWS RELEASE

Fabus Island is no more. The 20 mi x 30 mi island built by the ill-fated country of Decisive Action, was destroyed today by elements of the Layartebian military. Shortly after the Empire of Layarteb took control over Mississippi and its associated Fabus Island, ILM forces engaged in Operation Slip-Side attacked the island with naval and air units. The six hour long siege of the island was done wholly with conventional munitions and left the island in ruins. Of the 300,000 colonists on the island, only some 6,000 are reported alive.

However, just minutes ago, satellite photographs and news cameras caught a glimpse of the demise of the island. We are told that repeated attacks with torpedoes on the support posts of the island finally weakened them enough where the entire island collapsed on its own weight. There were no survivors.

The destruction of the island comes as a symbolic destruction of Decisive Action and its hateful ways. The Emperor of Layarteb was not available for comment. Fears that the destruction of the island would create tsunami conditions were only mildly true. Increased waves were reported throughout the entirety of the Gulf of Mexico but only in the magnitude of some 2 to 8 feet.
North Germania

The Reichschancellor of North Germania released a statement today applauding the powerful and skillful techniques used by Layarteb in the final erasing of Decisive Action and its people.

Reichschancellor Einheit also released a statement in which he said, "Next time, I wish the Emperor would invite me to these demolition parties."

The enslavement of the former population of Decisive Action began today as North Germanian military forces based in Alabama moved into Mississippi and began establishing settlements and military bases.

A 300% increase of the military is currently in effect, and soon Mississippi will become a major staging point for any possible future military efforts in North America.
