Shivan Revival – The Tortured Souls

Imperial Brits

Halacus System.

It had been two hundred years since the Great War. Two hundred years of revival and torture for the Shivans of the Honour clan. Ever since their brothers had been consumed by a plague of machines, ever since the dark times. Fleeing from the green and once safe realm of subspace the Shivans had come to know only strife and hardship. Their world ship destroyed, their fleet gone and only a fraction of the former populous alive ever remained on their mind.

The Hive cluster long since consumed had perished; with its doom the Shivans lost the central chamber. Now each Shivan was individual, they had to work and think independently, while the young experienced a whole new way of life the old attempted to stick to tradition.

The Grand and Overt fleets had long since gone, the vast warships that once filled the sky now floated as debris far away. The War council long disbanded and the clans long since divided remained only a memory in the eyes of the old.

Valancia Nebula

(OOC: Don’t know how to make it look like Shivan speak so just think that when a Shivan talks its all in subspace waves.)

The small jagged point of a Melain fighter thrust past while the fleet continued to arrive in droves. Since the Great War no vessel was ever built above One Hundred and fifty meters, the loss of millions of Shivan souls was too much for the mind to handle, now the last of the Imperium was grasping at straws.

Fifteen Earth years ago a small fighter was scanning the outer reaches of Shivan patrolled space, at the edge of a long dissipated Nebula it found something. An ancient gate, long since abandoned and hidden. Now the scientists had finally found a way to activate it, they had dubbed the gate “Thirdspace.”

Research Ship Melamor

Fighters dodged past the two research ships as they sped away from the gate, while on board science officers were quickly readjusting power levels.

“We have a fluctuation in power grind fourteen, the generator will not compensate for the flux rate. Were going to lose it.”

Lamnos turned from his console, the neural interface worked but not well enough for his liking. “Have the computer route power from the secondary generator and compensate for the fluctuation, we will not fail in this.”

The gate, larger than the largest Shivan warship slowly came to life. Its black surface glowed as red tinges ran down its smooth body. Lighting activating over its hull showed ancient markings from a race long dead, the translation long forgotten and hidden in time.

Energy spikes slowly erupted from the prongs in the centre, blue beams sparking and igniting some of the stray gas from the nebula. In the centre a blue horizon could be seen forming. Growing in intensity it suddenly bust into life as the wormhole was opened.

As Lamnor turned, he viewed the spectacle of his people’s future with awe. Perhaps this would mean a brighter future, or even better, Vengeance? As he strode away his three limbs clanked along the metal floor. It was time to send the probe in.

Deep in a Hyperspace pocket, Shadow controlled space of Beta Dimension

The gate constructed millenia ago by the original Shadows was active as usual the grey energy portal, the same colour as had been ever since the Shadows had re-activated it. It meant no other dimensional gate was open... the original Shadows had found it and horded it in secret making contact with another dimensional race before contact was lost in the last Great war with the Forces of Light.

Huge vats sat in the huge series of Shadow research and production complexes, hidden from view and detection in it's hyperspace fold. Shadow vessels screamed around wheeling practicing the skills of combat for the next planned Great war, now the successors to the Original Shadows had returned. There were thousands of such ships most were only a few hundred years old, but some had been found from the time of the last great war. These were ancient ships, capable of bringing down almost any known ship measuring an impressive 5 kilometres across and they reaked of the Ancient Evil the title 'Shadows' represented.

A gigantic 'Death Cloud' Planetkiller had also been constructed in the intervening time, the Shadows had plans to build two more but had not yet got round to constructing such ships.

An additional ship had been added to the Shadows arsenal, a huge Battleship type. Some 20 kilometres from bow to stern it was impressive indeed. It was powered and held together by gravitonic energy created by it's new power source. Five organicly shielded and armoured balls held the five minds that controlled this creature... it was new and young but it had a lot of power. The Shadows calcuated it would take a small fleet to take down a single such ship, but production was currently complex and slow. The Shadows had planned to have 20 such ships before the Great War in the known universe was to start.

In the midst of it all... the hyperspace's portal colour changed unacknowledged by the Shadows... they were in for a most interesting suprise.

The small ship, only forty meters in size sat in front of the shimmering portal as it awaited a response, aggressive or peaceful, the Clan diplomat was ready to die for this cause. Only be gaining allies could they have their vengeance. Only gaining friends will they ever rise in station to their former glory.

The message broke the rythem of the Shadow's preparations, hundreds of dark spidery like ships turned their black shimmering bows towards the now greeny blue portal horizon. Had anyone of the Beta dimension been watching they would have been shivering at the presence of so much overt evil in one place. The Shadows did not understand the language but they understood somebody was trying to make contact.

Whilst Shadow ciphers went to work on the language, it was decided by the Council of 7 in the Shadowlords absence that twenty middle-aged battlecrabs were to be sent through to find out and establish contact with this race. They were obviously advanced enough to either create or activate a dimension gate, thus the Shadows usual utter arrogance was for now perturbed by the mystery of the new race.

The twenty Battlecrabs opened their pores and out came forty 'Spitfire' Fighters, they would go into this armed and ready. Just in case. The small fleet began to move into the gate, it would take a matter of minutes to move into the other dimension but they would seen break the dimensional horizon.

On the other side of the portal the Shivan Fleet was waiting, weapons lowered and engines cut off they would not open fire. On board the flagship, the Merlinor Warlord and Clan leader Veralok was waiting on such an event. “They come through the portal, Let them see who their new found race is. Let them see us with nothing to hide.”

As the black ships sped through the event horizon the Shivan envoy was having difficulty dodging the passing ships. The small craft shaking as each vessel passed dodged with some ferocity as it attempted to remain intact. Finally the ships passed and all that they could do was wait, wait for war or peace. Only time would tell as the message was translated.

OOC: Though young, the Brunnen G will fight the Shivans on principal alone

IC: The Stingers came through space; small insectoid craft, soaring through the skys of space; their missles readied and armed in the tail. They plunged, beautiful and poised, through atmospheres like they were water and landed on the planets surface.

Vast, detailed and awe-inspiring architecture rose from the desert, water flowing from fountains and waterfalls like drops of heaven. This was New Brunnis; the homeworld of the romantic Dreamers.

The Stingers landed, the Fighters exitted and headed for the Council Chambers; the ancestral fight song of the Brunnen G echoing about them as they bowed before their leader; the Prophet.

"Great Prophet...We come before you, to pledge undying loyalty to the cause."

"Bretherm, we have not known war since we lead Humanity to victory against the Insect Civilisation, but here, now, this galaxy is a vast new realm, where new enemies may lurk. We shall be ready."

"Fighters fight the fight, we pledge our arms to you."

The Shadow ships waiting in the lit gloom of the gate positioned in and around it at critically defensive points. Scanning pulses were speeding out from them as they studied this new race, they were beginning to understand this was a race worthy of their respect. Not up to Shadow tech, no but it showed much promise.

This went on for two hours til the Shadow Ciphers had finally cracked the language of this race. Then a rather flaky broadcast was sent out through the ships:

What do you want?

Thump....thump...thump...thump..........thump, thump thump thump, thump, thump, thump, thump......

Something stirred under the bed, trying to get away...

"No..............."

Trying to escape from the nightmare.....

"Oh god..........."

Trying to escape from the one thing he revered more than Indra Prime...

"Bosch......what is this...?"

...The Shivans.

_________________________________________________________________

"I suggest you co-operate."

I couldn't see properly, my vision was warped, and full of red...

"Shivans!"

Hot needles poked into my brain, ripping out all my knowledge...

"I'm tired of you..."

Bosch was there, grinning...

"Liquidus Snake..."

And the Shivans were there too...

And now I'm running, without any weapon, through the corridors, those monstrosities behind me...firing Plasma at me...the genocidal freaks. And I hit a glass viewport, and watch as their monstrous ships eat through defenses, ships, people, aliens. I watch them decimate whole worlds, kill thousnads of innocents...

And then I realise something, as I feel my eyelids opening to the real world...

...They were back.

_________________________________________________________________

"NO!!!"

Liquidus Snake shot out of bed, his eyes wide with worry, his heart thumping wildly. Wiping the sweat off his brow, Liquidus got out of bed, ran over to his closet, and dressed himself in a hurry.

After a few minutes, Liquidus sighed, and turned around...which was then he realised something.

"I can feel them...their presence...but they aren't talking...they're silent..."

Liquidus bit his lip. This was very bad. He hit the intercom next to him. A voice came through almost instantly.

"M'lord?"

"Contact Grand Admiral Slavik, tell him to put the Fleet on Mode Alpha."

There was a pause.

"Mode Alpha m'lord? We haven't been on that sinc-"

"Since the last Shivan Invasion I know."

"Then...why are you putting us Mode Alpha m'lord?"

"The same reason why I put it on the last time..."

There was an even longer pause. The voice that came back was shaken.

"Right m'lord..."

"And..."

"Err....yes m'lord?"

"Set up a Press Conferance, and once that's done, make sure my transport's ready. If the Shivan's are back, I need to be mediating this."

"Okay m'lord."

Liquidus shut off the intercom, and then bit his lip.

This was bad...

_________________________________________________________________

An hour later, Liquidus was standing on a podium, overlooking hundreds of people from all over the Outer Heaven Media. He grunted into the microphone, and waited for everyone to look at him.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I have called this Press Conferance to inform you of something very grave..."

Everyone looked at him intently.

"As you may or may not know, half an hour ago, the Outer Heaven MK II Main Fleet was put on Mode Alpha, and now we have ships guarding every possible entrance to Outer Heaven MK II space. I am here, ladies and gentlemen, to tell you why. The Shivans...have returned to known space."

Everyone there stared in shock at Liquidus, some people had even fainted.

Liquidus gulped.

"We do not currently know, the size, or the intentions of whatever Shivan force has come to known space, but based on our first contact with this species, we have decided to be prepare for the worst. All Trade Lanes and Military Lanes have been shut down, and Battle Planets have began reposistioning themselves. However, until we know the intentions of the Shivans, and whether they'll attack, Outer Heaven MK II will be put on Mode Beta. Martial Forces will be deployed across every planet in Outer Heaven MK II, to protect and ensure the wellbeing of every Citizen of Outer Heaven MK II.

"Also, every combat capable Metal Gear, Soldier, and ship not involved with the Border wars, will also be deployed to protect our space. However, seeing as we are nearly at a stalemate in the Border Wars, nothing will be rediverted from the Border conflicts. My Secretary will keep you updated as we learn more about the Shivan's intent. I thank you for your time."

Liquidus briskly walked away from the podium as hundreds of questions were shouted at him. Walking through the back door, he walked down a long corridor, until he came to the door leading to the Landing Pad. Sighing, Liquidus went through the door.

This was not good.

_________________________________________________________________

"M'lord, we're leaving subspace...now."

Liquidus' Private Transport shuddered slightly as it exited subspace, and into a flotilla of Star Destroyers, and Outer Heaven Super Destroyers. One ship however, stuck out, mainly because it was 40KM long, and had a large Rail Gun on the end.

"The GTVA Colossus...pilot, transmit the neccessary codes, and head for the Colossus, I want to be on that bridge ASAP." Liquidus ordered.

"Yes M'lord."

The pilot transmitted the clearance codes, and then Liquidus' Transport shuddered as it's engines powered up. Quickly gaining speed, the pilot manuevered the transport to fly toward one of the Colossus' docking ports...

"Anton Slavik!"

Grand Admiral Anton Slavik turned to see Liquidus Snake standing on deck.

"My god Liquidus, I didn't expect you to be here!" He said in surprise.

They both walked toward each other, and did their special handshake. They then grinned, and took their seats.

"What's happening at the moment then?" Liquidus ask. Slavik shook his head.

"Nothing. We can't detect any Shivans for two Lightyears, and no Subspace portals have been opened here since the Lane closed down, save for your ship." He replied. Liquidus just nodded.

Something was wrong...

The Avatar inside the small ship, waiting upon communication. It had been some hours now with nothing, until finally the ships systems burst to life.

”What do you want?”

Opening a transmission by thought alone the Shivan envoy sat still, reciting his scripted response.

“We are a race bred for war and perfection. We desire revenge upon the young, we desire to rid the weak from our Galaxy. We have tired three times and succeeded to a point, we have made the weak strong though they are diminishing again, we cannot allow it. We are here in order to recruit, we are here for allies.”

There were a few minutes without an answer. Then came the signal.

We have considered this and you. We are prepared to help you. We can bring several thousand ships to this dimension in order to assist you in your goal. In return we demand several planets for ourselves and an to be determined later amount of slaves from our conquests. Then you shall have the co-operation of the Shadows.

The gate shimmered with the black vessels now moving around it screaming their screams of pain and suffering... there was true evil here now...

As the negotiations between the Shivans and the Shadows were underway, nobody saw a rather small, silvery, long spacecraft emerging from subspace near the Shivan flaghip. It's legs opened in the beatiful rhythm of high technology as it landed near the airlock of the bridge. The door opened and all the guards were too amazed to act when they saw a tall, green alien in a golden cape step in and walk right before the commanding officer: "Merlinor Warlord?", it asked. "...yes?", answered the shivan warily. "You're a worthless piece of crap, a total asshole.", said the weird alien. "I just thought you would like to know that before your pitiful life ends."

On a lonly world in a close off section of the universe, a powerful race stood on an invisable barrier. Creatures that looked like men through power of its raw essense at the barrier, to no avail. And so, with heavy hearts, they went back to the ruined planets.

On one world, a god sat, he watched as his children tried in vain to destroy the barrier made by his brothers. He sighed, he was forever gone, until one thing changed everything. A ship, to small for the barrier to detect, came through, exploring the uncharted space. From that point, the barrier faded, soon, it had a hole like non other. The Valheru sensed it, and they let out a sound of universal approvle. They mounted dragons, entered ships, and left the dead Galaxies behind.

The Valheru, once masters of the universe, where now just a shadow of there power. But they where still powerful, and their forces cut across galaxies like a knife through butter. Nalar watched from his prison, always growing stronger.

The Valheru continued unabated, they encouted a creature that had swallowed entire galaxies, and it took many lives to kill it. THey where diminished from such powerful being, and of the fifty trillion that had set out, only fiuve hundred thousand had surrvided. They came to a blue spiral galaxy, and made themselves a home. They found the local creatures and crushed their bodies, forming them to become the twisted searvents. That had been years ago, now they had picked up a disterbance, a Valheru riding a great black Dragon had been sent to investagate.

OOC: This is a call for anyone who wants to join the Destroyers. In no way can anyone on the side of “good” or can my enemies use this to know of my return. This is just a way of recruiting.

Council Chamber

“We must reform the Hive, it is the only way to gain more allies, we need to seek those out that are most like us. Those who can be corrupted.”

“No Veralok, the mind almost destroyed our race, we cannot reform.”

Spitting his distaste in a sharp screech Veralok slammed Malaciev to the floor. “We will have the mind reformed, though I understand your caution, which is why only you will rejoin the plane Malaciev, you will bring to us the young ones.”

“If it is the only way then I will do you bidding Veralok, but know this. The mind is dangerous, and I do not accept the reasonability for the outcome. I will bring the chaos children to us, but I still fear what I may become.”

“Have no fear Malaciev, we will accept you no matter the outcome.”

Central Plexus

The former centre of the Honour clans Worldship now evacuated and used for the elders. Hidden within its depths are the remains of Phalax, the device the Shivans use to unify their minds. By enhancing their telepathic abilities the Shivans reach of communication becomes almost boundless.

The Phalax now repaired awaited Malaciev, his march into the depths of the gravityless station was comfortable, more so than life on the rock they now called home. As he approached their station he became more and more concerned, the device was shut down for a reason. Reaching the chamber he entered.

“Chaaaaa” A self inhaled gasp, left Malaciev speechless, he was no longer in his body, no he was on a plane, an endless plane. Below him he could see dots some red some white, but it was the red he was interested in. “Children, come to us, come and meet the fathers of destruction. Come to the destroyers and be strong for eternity. Be with us or burn.” As Malaciev sent a location for them to attend at a certain time he was sure many would arrive. They would not be bale to resist the call. The call for terror.

Marcus de Drakan broke from his meditation and stood, looking out the window over the wastes of the Daemon World, Chronosia.
"The Destroyers....Great and Terrible" He cackled, drawing himself up, leaving the confines of his room; headed for the main landing pad.
"My Lord?"
"Ready my Ship, I have business"
"Aye Lord"

Marcus strode into the ship, sitting in his great throne of bone and basalt; glancing out the window as he slowly took to the stars.
"Set course for these locations. A great power rises; and I will see it...I will aid it. And the universe will burn..."

The ship tore from reality; ripping into the warp, before tearing out at the place he had been told to meet; and there, among the stars, and not knowing what was to come, Marcus waited....To see these godlike destroyers who had called him to this place.

The Valheru who scoured felt it, the pulse of darkness that was drawing more to it. He smiled, so they had found a race that did as they do. He left, his dragon navagating the rift to the Valheru base world. He told the warriors what he had seen. What was nessersary. As such, once more the Valhru armed for war. Their spears that allowed their power to be launched, their swords that funnled their rage, their sheilds and armour where doned. Soon the Dragon Host would be ready, but the scout had reported that in their long absence, the creatures had made steel ships. The Valheru nearly exploded with rage, there had only once been such an advancement, it had nearly destroyed the Valheru power in one galaxy, but they had not relented, and the entire galaxy now lay in ruins, but the cost had been to great, they would not surrvive such now, they needed a fleet of their own.

The Valheru Corrin'Drake moved through the small number of Eldar. These elves where the Valheru keepers of knowlage, used to preserve anything of intrest. He was looking for something Spasific, the designs for ships long gone. He took his time finding them, as they where at the bottom of the pile of records. He looked through them, Marveling at how advanced these creatures had been. He smiled, he knew what would be happening to the riderless dragons that had come with them, as well as all their searvents, besides the Eldar of corse.

The Valheru studied the blueprints, making sure they KNEW what the different parts where used for. More then two million slaves, and 126 Dragons where all standing inside different chalk symbold on the ground. None of the people would surrvive, nor did the Valheru feel anything for them. They needed a fleet, and the reasorses would take to long to gather otherwise, this would make it so much easier. The Valhru used their magic, twisting the forms of the creautres, changing their flesh to metal. The dragons became embedded tombs, the power that would allow the Dragon host to move through the rift. THe screams would shatter the minds of the bravest of people, but the Valheru ignored it with ruthless power. Corrin smiled, the fleet would soon be ready.

As per their agreement with the Shivans the Shadows began pouring through the portal. The Council of 7 had decided on an intial commitment of 1000 Battlecrabs and their fighter compliments, as well as a commitment of 150 Vampire Scout Crusiers. It was also decided by the Council of 7 that the new battleship type should be commited to the campaign as a series of extended field tests, it had been named the Fallen Angel class, after the human idea of what the Shadows were.

3000 Overlord Transports with 610,000 Dryal of varying types were alloted to the campaign. It was decided several modified asteroids would orbit the dimensional gate, using their Claw style Deathrays and Quantum cannons to defend the gate in case of emergency. These were set on an artificial orbit via an large artificial gravity generator.

The Shadows were preparing for war, they would wait til their full strength had arrived before they would strike with the Shivan and the allies they were bringing to this new Great War.

For now the Shadows would begin scouting the areas via hyperspace, they're ships would be in the blackness searching for targets and races to enslave/force to fight in the name of Chaos and it's evolutionary principles.

The Shadows had now come to this dimension to enslave and destroy, the Shivans did not know what they had unleashed, but they would in the course of the Great War realise what the Shadows represented.

Anton sat down, and Liquidus took his seat on the Bridge. The Helmsman retook the console.

"Subspace Portal will be open in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..."

Space shimmered slightly, before a white hole appeared. It shrunk in, collapsed on itself, and then, it exploded outward into a blue, shmmering, Subspace Portal.

Anton looked at Liquidus.

"I pray you know what you're doing."

Liquidus looked at Anton.

"As do I..."

They were then pulled back as the Colossus, 24 Outer Heaven ISD's and 25 Outer Heaven Super Destroyers were sucked into the Portal, toward an unknown destination, with an unknown amount of ships, and with every life on those ships bearing weight on Liquidus' shoulders.

I hope I'm right about this...

Vclain System

Isolated, dead, a system desolate of any sentient life. It seemed fitting for the calling place.

As ships arrived in system each from other races the Shivans waited cloaked and hidden.

It appears, that they are coming, indeed they should all be here soon enough. More will come as the war rages we can be sure of that. Not as chaos, no the opportunists will jump on board that can be assured. But we must see to those that can be swayed, those who we know.

Clan Representative Velpare was inside his ship when the constant shriek of beeping erupted. “Shall we decloak now and allow them to know of our presence?”

“It is best that we do not Velpare wait an hour let them think about the future, we will meet them in time.”

Slowly time passed, and the hour was upon them. The Shivan craft slowly accelerated and made its way towards the centre of the two fleets. One from a nation known as Outer Heaven, these people had experienced the Shivans before as well as the Children of true Chaos Chronosia. The sleek craft decloaked under their noses, no larger than One hundred meters its sleek red and black body boasted its arrival.

Velpare wisely decided it was time opening a channel to the humans he talked.

"Aye Lord. Tell me, what do these beings want?"

"We shall see, shall we not?"

"Indeed...."

The Emperor strode forth to his personal shuttle and sat; poised, thinking as the rumble of engines seemed to drown out even his thoughts; as they sped towards the Shivan ship; not knowing what lay ahead; and yet eager for the knowledge that the uncertain future could bring.

The two shuttles hurtled down towards the Shivan ship, moving at speed they moved towards the docking ports. Each port ready to receive the two shuttles were open and the small point defence weapons along the hull had been long inactive. As the two craft touched the ship it juttered slightly as the air pressurised between the two compartments.

The docking hatches opening at the same time for each delegation revealed an open chamber, not large just enough for ten people. The floor was covered in some form of sticky substance secreted by the ship. While Gravity was not operational.

On the roof a metal railing would guide the ambassadors to the centre of the room where two chairs waited for them. As they moved along in suspension they two bipeds would realise that the walls were beating with life. Just as the two neared the chairs a door opened at the end of the chamber as Velpare entered.

((This is not the fleet of Azaha, I am simply playing a mercenary group for this RP))

In the void of an unknown system, a fleet (http://www.scifi-artpage.com/tyros%20fleet%20allience.jpg) of odd looking ships slowly skim through the tranqiull abyss of space. The fleet consists of two very large 900m long warships.. well, if you could tell how long they were, being as how thier shape isnt really semitrical. Surrounding the two larger ships are numerous smaller frigates, about 30 of them, each measuring 200-300m in length. There is one odd feature, if you dont count thier almost random shapes, is that no two ships look exactly alike.

On the side of one of the two larger ship, there is an unknown language sprawled across the hull, if translated correctly, it would say Decimator. Inside the bridge of the ship, there was not much activity, though the beings inside scurrying about were interesting. They looked insectoid, they stood on two feet and had four arms. Even though they looked buggy that had a muscular build, thier exo skeletons bulky and beefy. They had multi facited eyes, much like a common house fly would have, and thier antennas more like long curving horns then precieved.

The bridge use quiet, two insectoids worked on the helm, thier combined 8 arms working over many bazzar controls and buttons. A few other insectoids worked at various other stations, some working, others just lounging around. In the center of the bridge 'sat'(because he was half kneeling and half sitting) a particulary large insectoid, whos fierce eyes surveyed the bridge. Suddenly, it fell unconcious.

What seemed to be the tactical officer noticed this and jumped up, running to the other's aid. It chirped and squeeled, and would have been translated into, "Sir, are you alright? Wake up!". The captian remained unconcious, only twitching every now and then. The tactical officer grabbed the captain and shook him vigerously. "Awaken!"

Finally the captain woke up with a jolt, staring quickly around the bridge before finally uttering, "set a course for these coordinates... I beleive we might have work coming too us..." The captain rapped in some buttons on his chair's console and watched the two helmsmen go to work, scittering around thier consoles.

The whole fleet entered into hyperspace. Thier hulls and ships contorting and stretching out before finalyl speeding off at light speed into space.

Some time later the fleet came to a halt in a certain area of space. The captain on the Decimator peered outside the bridge window at the blackness.

"There is nothing here." one of the helmsmen chirped.

"Wait... I feel somthing is out there..."

The Valheru finished their fleet, the ships stood pround in front of them. The Dragon host smiled, they now had a fleet, a hundred and twnety-six ships hovered above the ground, copied from the designed exactly. The Number was funny, there where one hundred for the weaker Valheru, those born after the fall, numbering 500,000. There was also however one for each of the True Valheru, twenty six. THese would be crewed by the Eldar, and the other searvent races, as they where larger. The smallest ships where huge, needing crews of five thousand or more, and only with the servent race could the fleet be deployed. There where no fighters, Dragon riders would take this path. Valheru smiled, and moved the pitaful creatiures onto the massive space hulks. The Valheru showed them how to control the ship, sending the skills directly. THe Crew where in intense pain for half an hour, but the Valheru didn't care. They where nothing, made to searve, and searve they would. Soon the fleet was rising, and it entered the rift before leaving the Atmospheare.

Three Seconds later, the ships arrived in the Shivan Universe. The twenty six Valheru let loose a force of knowlage, giving all in they system their reaosn for being there. The Dragon host had once again arrived in the Milky way, they would not leave again.

And Nalar feasted. With the barriers down, he could once more feed of all suffering in the universe. He would not be released for billions of years, unless this war was sucsseful, the chaos that would ensure would release him, and Chaos would not again be stoped. THe Legion of Nalar had been released.

"Freeze!!!"

The two Royal Guards accompanying Slavik rolled out, and aimed at Velpare. Anton cursed.

"What on Earth are you doing!?!" He shouted, shaking one Guard.

"Sir, he's armed with a Plasma Cannon!" The Guard replied. Anton hot him over the head.

"You imbeciles! They're part of the Shivan! Haven't you read any case files? They all have one!"

The Guard cursed.

"Sorry sir."

They both stood up, and lowered their weapons. Anton bit his lip.

Definately not a good way to open up negotiations...

Anton bowed to the Velpare.

"I apologise for that. My guard's are very...protective of me. May I ask who you are?"

The Fates sat deep with T-Space. On its bridge an officer looked nervously at the displays. She reached over and thumbed the Comm button.

“Captain, I am picking up some strong dimensional disturbances. They are all originating from these coordinates.”

The captain looked at the display and frowned.

“That’s strange. According to our records, there is nobody inhabiting that system. Contact Command and relay all data. Then plot a course for the disturbances and keep with T Space.”

“Yes Sir.”

After a few minutes The Fates sped off toward the coordinates. The captain sat wondering what she was getting into.

“Sir, there are multiple readings showing on Hyperspace, Subspace, and even a Dimensional Vortex of some sort. We are reading gravimetric presences of vessels of some sort both in Real Space and upon the other side of the rifts. I cannot get any clarification of numbers but there are a lot of contacts.”

“Hold here for a few minutes and relay your sensor logs back to Imperial Space. Be sure to use the Space Minus transmitter. We better take this step by step. Something seems fishy.”

“Yes Sir.”

After a few minutes The Fates began to move closer to the disturbances.

“Sir, it seems to be a rendezvous of some sort. I can detect ships of several different nations. We can distinguish only one nation, Chronosia. “Do we have any idea who they are?”

The Valheru ships arrived, all of them alien no matter where you where from. The ships had a kind of deadly grace to them, sleek and beautiful with a large number of razor spikes and weapon tubes. The feel was death by beauty, something the race who had made these weapons had perfected over a time of twelve mellenia. Corrin could see every plan, noting where minds of the weak where. He was searching the unscoured dimension ((T-Space)) When he found something that felt nevrous, worried, yet not fearful of discovery. He smiled, a cold chilling that made the searvents scurry in fear. He made a mental map to the others, who smiled as well. In three seconds, the Valheru, ridging their great dragons, appered in T-Space, quite easily using the mind map of the People in to get inside. Smiling, they let out a warcry. The five hundred tousand Valheru moved on the Fates ship/s. Their blood was rushing, and death would eb wraugh on the enemy.

The message reached The Oort Station within moments, accompanied by the data stream of the sensor logs. The Communications Officer on duty looked at the clearance level and contacted his supervisor immediately.

“Sir, we just received a transmission from The Fates.”

“What does it say?”

“You better get up here.”

A few minutes later the Commander rushed into the communications center breathing heavily.

“What’s going on?”

“This just arrived via the Space Minus transmitter. It is the sensor logs from The Fates showing several dimensional fluctuations. They went to investigate and got close enough to pick up several different fleets on long range sensors. They sent their logs and went closer to get a better look.”

“The Emperor needs to know this. Send it to him immediately”

“Yes Sir”

Aboard The Serendipity three minutes later:

The elderly man set down the dusty tome he had been reading. It was one of his favorites brought from the Other Place when the Ta’Nar moved the Empire. He liked to refamiliarize himself with the knowledge contained within. It helped him retain the past and to keep his Arcane skills honed.

The ships AI informed him via his Neurolink of the approach of General Velapus. He accessed the AI’s sensors and watched the hurried pace of the officer. Something must be wrong because Velapus never acted with haste. He was always cool and calm. This was so out of character for him.

The Emperor accessed the door controls and opened it before the General could announce himself.

“Come in. From the look on your face we don’t have time for etiquette.”

“N-no Sir, this just arrived from The Fates. It seems there is a dimensional incursion of some sort occurring. They will need some sort of support.”

“By all means send it but I want to know what is going on before I send in any more ships. Perhaps it could be something to our advantage. We might be able to learn something from these unknown vessels. This might be a First Contact opportunity. Take actions but keep the support vessels out of range of their sensors. I want them close enough to lend aid as soon as it is needed.”

“Right away.”

The general turned and left the library as quickly as he arrived. Nhur-Galladu opened his book and started where he left off.

Gliese, a few minutes later, several ships pulled out of their berths and quickly uplifted.

OOC Yes it does. You need to understand the Valheru, if they did not see potentiol in the Shivans to become tools, they would not help. They see all ships in the area as Shivans, they don't understand Alliences, they would mearly help the Shivans to further their own goals. The thing is the Shivans will be feeding Nalar his power with their war, so the Valheru help to increase the amout of power sent. They don't see someone who hides in a different dimension helpful to them, so they will attack.

IC The Valheru moved forward in a huge wave, their spear focus fireing shots of Valheru power. The weaker ones weapons would be fairly normal for the sheilds and hull to shrug off, but the twenty six birth Valheru where drawing a micro of power from every dimension, then focusing it as a major beam. This was powerful, to say the least, almost a anti ship cannon. The Dragons circaled, fireing more and more shots. Is was if five hundred thousand fighters where firing the lighter weapons and twenty six anti-ship cannons fireing at the same time. THe Barrage continued, with no show of faltering. If one of their dragons where killed, the rider would mearly get on another one. They fought as many, not as a group, but their numbers where huge.

OK..., although I still feel your Omnipotence seems a bit god-like. Aboard The Fates, klaxons sounded.

“Captain, it appears a fleet of half a million ships appeared and then began Uplifting. It appears they are assuming attack formations.”

“Shit! Shields on Full! Establish a Space Minus Tap and alert Command of our situation.”

“Yes Sir.”

The officer worked the controls of the panel in front of her. Several readouts changed status.

“Space Minus Tap established. We have Full Power. Generators are also online at maximum output. I am Contacting Command and alerting them of out situation now.”

“Prepare to fire all torpedo tubes. It would be useless to launch the fighters against such a force. Set up the STE. I want one above the ship as soon as they begin their attack.”

“Command has been informed of the situation. They have sent support and it will arrive as soon as we need it.”

“Dammit, we need it now.”

Amanda studied the screen in front of her for a few moments. She concentrated and felt for Samuel’s mind. Finding it she initiated contact.

“Captain?”

“Yes Samuel, I want you to establish a link. If things go badly, at least the Ta’Nar can make it back home.”

“Yes my Captain.”

Amanda let out a sigh. She would be able to preserve the Ta’Nar but the norms around her would perish if this turned out wrong, and it did not look very positive at the moment.

“Captain, they are starting their approach. We are completely outnumbered.”

“That may be so but we will do our best to make their victory as painful as possible.”

(Reply to second post)

The multitude swarmed towards The Fates. The initial beams shot out and struck the Torq shields without effect. A bright light began to form above The Fates. The point of light quickly grew and became utterly black, absorbing even light within its gravitational grasp. Many of the beam weapons was bent and twisted by the gravitational effect so either they utterly missed or was devoured by the massive singularity. Missile weapons were completely ripped off course by the Schwarzschild effect only to disappear into the maw.

“Captain, it seems almost all the beam weapons are being affected by the singularity. Our Torq Shields are keeping us from being affected by the one that do hit. The little ones are miniscule in effect and one of our fighters could take them without shielding. The larger ones are the problem. They carry quite a punch. A couple have struck the ship almost overloading the shielding but since most of the shots are being warped away, the shields will hold for now.”

“They are almost overloading the shields? What are they?”

“Analysis of their signature indicates they are using dimensional weapons.”

“Initiate Dimensional Shields.”

“Yes Captain.”

The ships shields changed to a purple hue. The large beams that struck the new shielding were dissipated equally across all the dimensions, diminishing their power exponentially.

“Sir, the enemy is circling the vessel firing at the ship.

“Weapons, fire a full barrage of Grav Torps. I want them fired straight down and then to swing up behind the attackers. Set them at maximum yield. Gunners keep firing at them with everything we have. I want them to feel our sting. Try taking out their big guns first. Use the tractorbeams to toss fighters into the singularity. Use the flak guns to disrupt their fire and the lasers to aim at their big guns. Throw everything at them.”

The main batteries opened up and a barrage of lasers, flack weapons, and the beam cannons lanced out at the enemy. The tractorbeam controllers were snatching targets and trying to toss them into the black hole.

Eight torpedoes launched straight down and began to arc outwards each in their own direction. After achieving the correct distance, they began to turn upwards to get behind the enemy forces. After reaching their designated positions, additional singularities were generated and projected within the stream of speeding attackers.

Aboard The Fates, direct hits were rocking the ship as the large beams were getting through the spatial distortion caused by the singularity. The power of the beams was nearly overpowering the shields. If more than a couple hit without allowing the time to regenerate the drain upon the shields, there would be a major breach for everyone to deal with.

The current battle is taking place within T-Space, or the 7th Dimension. The singularities are only manifesting within this dimensional space. You cannot see them from Real Space and they cannot harm any ships there. I determined a long time ago that I cannot attack across dimensional barriers. It's the tradeoff for me being able to cross them. Damage will not carry through either way.

If you have gravimetric sensors, you WILL detect the effects bleeding over into Realspace. There are 9 black holes and there WILL be intense gravimetric disturbances for anyone whose sensors scan for them.

“Captain, the singularities are working. Most of the light fire is being warped off course by the gravity. Several of the heavy beams are also being drawn offcourse. Their systems appear to be some sort of biological lifeform which prevents them from using advanced computations to correctly adjust their shots to account for the gravity dilation. So far we have distorted every major shot….”

The ship shutters and rocks as one of the heavy beams strike the shields, which dissipates most of the energy but enough filtered through. A panel blows out and two crewmen rush over to put out the fire. Amanda picked herself up off the floor.

“Well, it appears they are trying anyways. How many shots like that can we take?”

“In order to overload the shielding, three or more have to hit the same spot before the shields adapt and recharge. Their attacks seem to carry through the dimensional barriers. That is something we have thought not possible. I know we are researching them but…”

The ship shutters and several alerts pop up upon the holo screen showing fire and damage alarms. The AI automatically diverts the repairbots where they are needed. The alarms begin to clear as they have resources diverted to them, the flashing red flags turning a cautionary yellow.

“Dammit, that is another strike they scored. We cannot take much more of these.”

“The biologicals are avoiding the singularities. They seem to be using the smaller ones like they are shields and firing from behind them.”

“Well, move them to where the aliens are firing. Rotate the singularities around the ship. That will mess up their flight plans and maybe get a few more…”

The ship shook once again. Several more red flags appeared, although they didn’t turn yellow as fast as before. Repairbots were already busy from the previous strikes.

“Amanda, I have the Link established”

“Be prepared for a pullout at my notice. I want you to keep every Ta’Nar linked.”

“You can count on me.”

The ship shook as another barrage struck through the shielding.

Enigma looked up and did a double-take. The normally beautiful and calm Orbez now looked like a ravenous monster, her eyes gleaming with an internal hatred and mouth nearly snarling as her fangs, a genetically dominant trait in Sarkarasetans that only those with the Sarkarasetan Vampiric Virus had an actuall use for, were bared. The way she moved, her normal military manner replaced with a grace and style reminiscent of a prowling cat, and the way she looked at a person gave even Enigma, being the android he is, a chill. Enigma was actually afraid she would attack him, despite the fact she never showed the normal predatory personality traits normal to those infected with the virus.

"Orbez, what are you talking about?" Enigma asked, trying to keep his voice calm.

The way she looked at him, her gaze focusing for a second as though she almost was ready to strike, unnerved him a bit. He was actually ready to run from her if she made a movement, despite the fact he knew he could easily overpower her in a fight, even with the strength enhancements her disease gave her. This was not a scenario anyone wanted to be in.

"Shivans! I feel the stench of their psionic call in my mind! I swear, if I ever get ahold of them..." Orbez began, her voice taking on an aspect of raving madness not natural to her.

"Orbez, calm yourself! Regain control! Hell, you're scaring me!" Enigma pronounced, unable to keep the fear from his voice.

Orbez stopped and made a visible effort to calm herself, her face and manner transforming back to normal over the course of a few minutes. Enigma, upon seeing this, put his hand on his chest. If he had a heart, it would be audibly beating right now from the stress it would have just endured. Any natural creature would have fled before this.

At that moment, a young officer rushed in the room, his face full of panic. He, being young and new to service in the palace, usually entered with respect and bowed his head to the Dictator. Today, his face easily revealing the emergency, he had forgotten himself, much to Enigma's relief. Enigma never did enjoy the way people would prostrate themselves before him.

"The vampires... They're going nuts! Snarling, looking around at people as though they're going to eat them... It's unlike anything we've seen. This matches nothing we have on record about them. This isn''t bloodlust, but something else," the young leutent announced.

"Yes, I know. Orbez just told me the reason. She nearly gave into it, but managed to fight it off before the transformation happened. Try to calm them, and don't be afraid to use blood. Oh, and prepare a message for the ESUS. Tell them the Shivans have returned. They'll understand," Enigma said.

"Yes, sir! Oh, I almost forgot. The science department announced that vampires can use magic in space without the messy end other people end up with. Something about the genetic change the virus causes makes them resistant to the effect," the leutent said.

"Good. After you calm the vampires, you're in charge of recruiting. I want a vampire mage on every ship. If they want to go into battle, then it's time to send them. In any case, the message to the ESUS is top priority. They must be prepared for what is going on," Enigma said.

The leutent nodded and ran out of the room, forgetting his usual bow. As soon as he was exitting the door he was already yelling orders at people present, already focusing on his assignment. Enigma smiled, seeing how well this one worked under pressure. He would go far indeed and may be the perfect candidate for a certain ship currently being constructed.

“Damn! We have to drop to Real Space to do that. Prepare to Emerge.”

“Yes Captain”

The Fates faded from T-Space and Emerged into Real Space at the edge of the system. As the ship left, the singularities collapsed, deprived of the power holding them open.

“Captain, we have successfully shifted to Real Space.”

“And the biologicals?”

“No sign of them yet. They are still in T-Space.”

“Good, perhaps we can have time to repair our engines. Get more people on it.”

“Um, Sir. There are ships headed our way from within the system. They appear to have their weapons armed and primed. They are advancing in formations.”

Psionic messages tend to carry a signal of who sent them. In this case, the vampires in my nation would pick it up, get an idea, and cross-reference it with their knowledge of people and species. They don't realize they do this, as it takes less than a second. For some reason I won't explain yet, vampires in DLE naturally hate shivans with a passion that is equivolent to beyond genocidal.

Basically put, they know who you are, likely where you are, they hate you, the ESUS is being alerted, and likely DLE will dispatch a small military force to unleash propaganda, DLE style. The Fates has suffered several hits which show clearly upon her hull. There is a slight debris field forming where the ship suffered the heaviest damage. Several repairbots can be seen flittering about making repairs.

One thing you do notice is the absence of a main engine. The Empire uses a propulsion system that is completely contained within the ship. The presence of an ion drive can be seen but it is evident it has not been recently used. It is for back up purposes as a secondary drive.

There is an immense energy reading from the ship but it is not from the weapons systems. The shields seem to be failing. It looks like it put up one hell of a fight.

Okay, naturally I’m going to have a little problem with that. The Shivans for one never left existence, I have rp’d them being in your dimension all the time, funny that your vampires would act up just when you need to know my location. I am not willing to accept you knowing my location, just because you have vampires. I and most of my allies regard that as fantasy tech, and I have curbed VL’s God like tendencies. As far as I can estimate I am willing to let you know of the Shivans existence but you would have been aware of it for a lot longer, therefore your vampires would have been going nutts for the past two hundred years.

In conclusion, well I have made my points up the top there so no, I am not going to accept the all knowing tendencies of the Vampires.
Underwater Asylum
06-01-2005, 14:48
A ship emerged from slipspace, seven kilometres long, three kilometres thick, and bristling with guns. One of the newest UA behemoths. It used the MP shields, altered Shivan subspace fields, in reality, and so was the best choice for this mission. Upon exiting hyperspace, all the fighters, corvettes and frigates emerged, and a message was sent.

"To our former Shivan enemies, we have learnt that you seek allies. We, the New, gloriues, Empire of Underwater Asylum wish to extend our wish to join you, in destroying the weak."

All ships had weapons powered down, along with shields. This was a display f trust, not a battle frmation. They were even lined up, rather than in their standard wedge formation. Another ship came through from slipspace, this one a destroyer, the Salarosa, a vessel type that had fought against the Shivan's in the destruction of the UA homeworld. It too, deployed it's fighters, and kept it's weapons and shields powered down.

Finally, the second destroyer arrived, the Midgard, a new vessel type, only 3 kilometres long, but packing a powerful punch. Again, it's shields and weapons were powered down.

'Our former government were fools, and we beseech you to forgive us fr our rash actions.'

"M'lord, we have the ship on visual...but a defensive barrier of fighters is in front of it."

Liquidus grinned.

"Where are the other hostiles?" He asked. The Tactical Officer shook his head.

"Nowhere nearby, we're scanning in everyway possible, and no bogies are appearing."

Liquidus bit his lip.

"Slow us down a little, but not too much, I want you to go through that barrier if the fighters don't move...or respond to my 'message'." He ordered. The Tactical Officer rose an eyebrow.

"M'lord, which type of message?" He asked. Liquidus shook his head.

"Transport me to their command centre, can you locate it?" He asked. The Tactical Officer nodded.

"Aye M'lord."

"Then transport me."

The Tactical Officer's hands danced over his console, and then slid his finger across a bar appearing on the console. Liquidus stood up, and watched as a Subspace Portal opened in front of him. Straightening his uniform and armour, Liquidus stepped into the portal...

...And out onto the Balroggan ship's Bridge. The Portal closed behind him.

OOC: This isn't a God Mod. Seeing as your dimensional shields are down, we can successfully create a subspace link between your bridge and ours. However, Liquidus won't be able to return unless you can make a Subspace Portal to the GTVA Colossus.

OOC: Several points of imporance, some of which are well established in my history.

1) The vampires are a side-effect of rapid evolution and a side-effect it had on a virus common in DLE. People mutating cause the virus to mutate, etc. See the NSWiki entry on vampires for exactly what you're dealing with when it comes to the Sarkarasetan version. A bullet works as well on them as on anyone else.

2) The vampires did not exist 200 years ago. They're more recent than that. All knowledge they have about shivans comes from those they deal with in the ESUS, and I try not to deal with that often ICly due to how the vampires would react.

3) Without some sign of shivan existance, such as the rather massive psionic call you just put out, I would have no reason to know you still existed ICly.

4) You're sending out your location in the psionic message. The vampires of DLE (remember: not your normal fantasy vampires) are able to recieve the message, much like the mercenaries you have called to your side. Refusing to allow someone to know your location when they have people who can hear the call is godmodding, pure and simple.

5) I consider psionics of any sort to be fantasy tech, including your call out. In my case, you'll find that most of my references to it are mostly background. It's there, but I don't rely on it. For some reason, DLE spellcasters have a tendency to explode when they use spells in space.

In conclusion, well I have made my points up the top there so no, I am not going to accept the all knowing tendencies of the Vampires.

All knowing? All they have that no one else does is who is doing the calling, and that's simply because of how I deal with psionics.

Now, will I use the information to attack you? Can't. Time taken to travel there will be too long. Message relays are faster.

Once again you are incorrect, The Psionic call was not directed to everyone, indeed you would have probably heard it, but still it would be impossible to locate the position inside an entire Galaxy, the call was directed towards certain individuals, which you were not a part of. The call was to selective people conveyed through my post. No details were sent towards you or anyone else, and eves dropping is impossible.

As the call was indeed selective how could you hear it? Unless you were directly in the path of the call. Who said Psionic calls had to ripple, now in my case its more of a stream line. If your vampires were not around at the start of the Shivans how could you compare to those Shivans we have presently. There are hundreds of nations who use psychics, where I only used one, I doubt you would be able to detect it amongst the Intergalactic back chatter.

As I said previously, I am willing to allow you to know of the Shivans return, however I am not willing to let you simply godmode your way into knowing of their location.

“It appears that we have a spy.” Velpare announced through his Avatar. “We do not take kindly to such things.”

“Kavout Hital!” The translation hidden from the guests could mean countless things. The allies, now dealing with the rogue ship, were obviously competent enough to insure that it was no longer a threat.

As the vessel shuddered and sundered, the lights in the meeting chamber dimmed as the craft began to cloak. “Running the specifications and unique way of monitoring situations the Shivans discovered the identity of the ship. An ESUS member, known to them as Balrogga, but not previously encountered first hand, there technology was new, but they would adapt as they had done many times before.

Storming from the meeting room Velpare rushed to monitor the situation. Detecting a small subspace flux, he realised something had jumped inside the Balroggan vessel, only one person had used such a technique before. The Biped known as Liqudis Snake. The situation had to be ascertained, his intentions were unknown. He could harm the Shivan situation, reveal their presence to the ESUS craft or even attempt to destroy him. This was intolerable, something had to be done.

Sending out a transmission he called to the other vessels. If anything were to go wrong, the Balroggan ship would be destroyed in a heartbeat.

As the many cloaked ships converged on the ESUS craft, the Shivans swelled in anticipation as first blood drew close.

The noise form meeting room was now becoming intolerable, his guests were demanding to know the situation, so Valpare though he would elaborate. Striding through the double doors he looked down upon the humans. “We have detected an ESUS craft currently spying on us. We have many vessels converging upon its position however we believe Liquidis Snake to be on the ESUS craft. We are currently unaware of his intentions, though we are running scenario probabilities.”

OOC: Before I state the following, I have posted a topic that would let the ESUS know about this. It turned out exactly as I planned before I even posted on here, and the results of which interpretation are used don't actually change it.

I am willing to continue this, but choosing not to allow someone to know your location when you sent out a psionic signal containing it just because it would disadvantage you is blatant godmodding, much more than my vampires recieving it could ever be. But, I have no evidence that is what is being attempted and will drop the issue for now. The following is more of an attempt of an explanation than an attempt at arguement. My lust for combat is better unleashed through the RP and not through a fruitless arguement at this point.

1) You did not state exactly who the psionic call was directed to, and from the way you worded the post it could easily have been a galactic call to people of the disposition to support you. That allowed me to interpret that the vampires of DLE would be such a people, but to interpret them having a different reaction than normal due to their allies, experiences, and dislike for the creatures they came to know in the ESUS of the same type.

2) You stated you did give the details "a location for them to attend at a certain time." That led me to assume that anyone who was capable of recieving the signal would also recieve the message, since I was going under the interpretation that the only people recieving the signal would be those chosen and that the vampires were chosen.

3) Under the interpretation I was using and the information in your post, I naturally came to the conclusion the vampires would know exactly where you are. The information of who you are is supplied through experience with such beings and knowledge gained from the ESUS, combined with how I usually treat psionics. To help in this area, I'll be dropping how I treat psionics and going for a more general form.

Okay, let me quote the part of my previous post:

2) The vampires did not exist 200 years ago. They're more recent than that. All knowledge they have about shivans comes from those they deal with in the ESUS, and I try not to deal with that often ICly due to how the vampires would react.

Keep in mind the ESUS does have shivans in it, and I would have had contact with them from time to time during ESUS meetings. As much as I don't want to ICly. That and listening to the tales of older members about Shivans would have been more than enough for a form of familiarity.

Now, as for the selectiveness: See #1 above.

As I said previously, I am willing to allow you to know of the Shivans return, however I am not willing to let you simply godmode your way into knowing of their location.

Going under the interpretation I was using, I wasn't godmodding. Just using the information being given to me.

The mercenaries were requested to go to a trading station run by a human female, hardly Shivan? So that option is out for you.

I wasn't going to go there anyway, nor use the location. Why? For all I know it's just a temporary gathering point and you've already left to the real staging point. It's what I would do. In any case, attacking you now would be a tactical blunder on my part. My military is not ready for a war quite yet ICly and attacking you would reveal that I know. Since I'm going under your interpretation, it doesn't matter.

“I am returning to my space now, we have many things to tend to. As I understand it, your leader is now boarding the enemy vessel, perhaps he can capture one of their crewmen alive for us. We would be most grateful.”

Valpares many eyes peered into Anton. “My forces are now leaving the system, the Balroggan vessel is yours.”

Darth Revan awoke abruptly from his slumber the message from the Destroyers being sent to him. He had heard stories of a race known as the Destroyers among other things, how they had came to this galaxy and killed billions with ease. The prospect of joining a force as powerful as them couldn't be declined. Revan walked out of his chambers towards the docking bay sending a message for a transport to be ready for him. As he entered the docking bay he saw that an Anatis transport had been readied for him. Stepping aboard he ordered the pilot to take him to the Zephnor the flagship of the 4th fleet.

15 minutes later he stood on the bridge of the large carrier. As the admiral walked towards him.
"We were not expecting you Darth Revan, why are you here?"
"Why I am here dosn't matter events have been set ion motion that could change our Empire fate, I need you to take me to this system."
"Very well, I will have the Nebecanezer and the Orion accompany us, we should be able to be there in 3 hours."

The Zephnor and two Charon's went into subspace.

IC:

Blacker than black Shadow Battlecrabs and fighters wheeled and circled around the dimensional gate, any nearby ships or persons heard the mental screams eminating from that area it was a place infested with true evil... something far beyond what most races had ever experienced. However the Shadows viewed themselves not as evil but a force for good by creating war and chaos they served evolution and ultimately perfected the races they 'guided'.

The Dimensional gate pulsed heavily... a large object was coming through... the black shields installed by the Shadows as an extra protection measure against any attempt to stop them influencing this dimension as well as their own would be met with much death and firepower. Four asteroids wheeled around the artifical gravity field created by the Shadows to hold these weapon infested defensive rocks in place...

A huge gun barrel looking appendage broke through the event horizon, after it followed a long length of similar barrels and a strange bone line front with dark light crystals eminating on the front of it. The body of the thing was circular but pulsed with a dark inner power, it was slightly see through inside you could see red light, where the generator was and behind it lay another carapace piece with a few dark light crystals glittering in the artificial light. The entire thing was around 7 kilometres in length, one and a half in height... it was also generally black but it's body had an eerie dark red glow to it... this was the Fallen Angel class Battleship of the Shadows, a true weapon of the Night.

“Do you want the short version?”

When Liquidus didn’t answer Amanda continued.

“Well, we were exploring this area when a series of dimensional events drew us here. We arrived and those things jumped us. Our engines started to overload so we had to drop back to Real Space and shut down. What the hell is going on here and what the hell were those things?”

Before Liquidus could answer one of the officers interrupted them.

“Captain, we are getting more readings. The fleet is clearing the systems Oort cloud. There is nothing between us but our fighters. I am picking up a large surge in Dimensional energies. It appears a hyperspace portal is being opened. According to these readings, it is very large.”

“Tag that and send it along with the other data.”

“Yes Captain. I am also picking up a very large number of biologicals Emerging. They are headed away from us.”

Amanda looked relieved that they lost interest in The Fates. She still wished she knew what they were and how they could exist within a vacuum.

The Shadows in accordance with their treaty with the Shivan began to move slowly and silently.

Small units were being despatched towards Jordaxian supply/trading lines in particular but towards several ESUS empire's trading/lines.

These were standardly of 4 Battlecrabs each with full Spitfire complement and 2 Vampire Scout Cruisers in attendence.

They would hit the trading ships of any nation/empire on those lines destroying them. The attacks would seem totally random never hitting the same sectors where possible.

Attacks would also be mounted on small Jordaxian outposts and isolated warships near their borders, with slightly larger forces consisting of 10 Battlecrabs with full spitfire compliment and two Vampire Scout Cruisers.

Their orders also included capturing as many ESUS citizens as possible for later implantation of Keepers or conversion to the Shadows way of thinking.

Those who were not captured would be killed. The Shadows wanted no witnesses to their presence until the freshly bred generation of Battlecrabs could come through. The others were needed in their own dimension for the preparations for that Great War and the protection of the Hyperspace pockets the Shadows massed in.

OOC I created that nation for this RP, however, they are far to complex for a FT RP in such numbers. I am not going to go through and have to explain the reason WHY they can do things everysingle time since truthfuly, I don't know, cause I did not invent them. THere is only so much the book knows. Thus, I am bringing back the Overmind, the thing that made the old empire fall.I was intending on having a large RP when they come back, thus I will introduce them now.

IC In a section of the universe previously thought beyond the reach of any mortal or Imortal, In the center of a sun that was home to five lifeless planets, the overmind looked at his armies though his minds eye. They where feasting on the flesh of the last world in this galaxy, and the Overmind felt the taste. He smiled, and he sent out the newests order via the eteranal mind, smiling as he did. THe Hive Lords brought the smaller creatures into line, and onto the large ships that would take them to the Lethalin. Only one fleet would leave the system, That would be Hive Fleet Pheonix. It was currently extreamly undermanned. Having only three Lethalin Hive Ships. They would consume however, then they would grow.

THe Overmind ordered them to use the new organ they had been given, and in an instant their body was covored with a type of silicon, before a large amount of gases that combined tempreture was sufficiant to go to shrink the atoms around the ship. THese where then repulsed, away from the ship, leaving it in a section of "Nothing". It then slowly started to place together bit by bit the atoms around it, and in space near the System the SHivans currently where, the three Lethalins appered. The Overmind let out a screech of Triumph, now the fight could be taken to the foul Delawere, after they consumed.

THe Ships moved forwards, their thick Caraprace Hide as strong as sheilds and hull armour combined. The Overmind had been forced to make do with the Bio-Engine of the Alethrians and Small Tsurani, In the end creating a race that would fit his needs perfectly. On each of the ships, A hive Lord watched and commanded, their daemonic Appeance mearly a genetic move to create fear in the enemy. It was then the Call went out, right near them, and the Overmind knew he had found an allie. THe ships moved forward, towards the origin of the Call.

“When the engines cascade we are all going to die anyways. We only have enough power for our basic shields. That would be enough to keep the boarding attacks away but not enough to withstand a direct barrage from either fleet. If you want to go, then I am not stopping you. I could have thrown an internal containment shield but it would be worthless. We didn’t come here for a war. It came after us.”

“What would you have us do, surrender? Your sidearm appears to be more powerful than the standard ones my crew carries. You are in some sort of power armor. It registers on our sensors as possessing an abnormal quantum signature. In all appearances you are superior to our nation.”

Amanda gave Liquidus another look over. Turning to one of her crewmen she gave an order.

“Escort us to engineering so we can see what he can do.”

The crewman took the lead and Amanda followed Liquidus as they threaded their way through The Fates.

“Captain, you have an incoming message.”

“Transfer it to my Neurolink.”

“Yes Captain.”

'This is Vice Admiral Striker of the Mole Class Destroyer Explorer. we have detected your ship, and see you are in trouble. May we be of assistance?'

Using her Neurolink she responded.

“We detected a series of Dimensional Events which led me to this system. Apparently it is being used as a meeting place. A group of unknown biologicals attacked me and then left. Right now I am leading the owner of the fleet lying between us and the Oort Cloud. There is another fleet he claims to know nothing about that is cloaked. I will relay their locations to you. Our ship looks to be damaged beyond the time we have available to repair. I have our shields operational but if we take enough hits, I wouldn’t be anywhere near here if I were you. It might be prudent to get as far away from The Fates as you can during the next few minutes.”

They were walking along a hallway that leads to the Engineering Department. Liquidus seemed to be interested in the technology around him but didn’t give any obvious sign. Linking up to the bridge she directed the data upon the cloaked vessels be given to the Mole ships.

The three of them entered a large room full of electrical equipment. A huge bulkhead door lay closed on one wall. Several banks of computers line the walls and an array of emitters project from the ceiling. In the center is set up a containment area.

“Welcome to Engineering. This is the Dimensional Experiment Lab. I trust everything you need should be here. Remember, if this doesn’t work, it’s not our fault. Those biologicals might have done too much damage to our ship. We are not even sure if the drain upon the system would be enough to cause the cascade. If it does, you will owe the Empire our lives. Go ahead.”

Amanda gestured towards one of the technicians.

“Hekinla Tillu” As the Shivan force of twelve made its way to the Balroggan vessel, the now stricken ship floated harmlessly in space. From Hyperspace, Valpare monitored the situation, data being relayed allowed the Shivan command to know the entirety of the situation, it was time to destroy them, regardless of the outcome.

The small pincer like craft, dropped their cloak revealing themselves in all their splendour. As they returned to real space a barrage of ion weapons was released upon what appeared to be the shield generators. The Shivan craft turning a dark red as their beam weapons charged, stopped for a moment, before their destructive power was released.

In a moment, the Balroggans would be able to confirm the identity of their attackers, no one else in the Universe used the same blood red beam weapons, no one else would want to, apart from the destroyers.

IC:

The Fates sat there in space just outside the system’s Oort cloud. A score of fighters stand before the ship as a defensive shield. The fleet from Outer Heaven is bearing down upon the lone ship and its defiant defenders. Liquidus was aboard The Fates about to be transported back to his ship.

Then the Shivans appeared out of nowhere.

The pincher shaped vessels decloaked and began firing their ion weapons at The Fates in an attempt to bring down the shields. red beams sliced into the shields, severely weakening the already barely functional protection.

Klaxons began sounding across the ship. Crew ran to their stations as the bridge relayed the information to the captain down in Engineering with Liquidus.

“Captain, the cloaked vessels revealed themselves. They appeared and fired their weapons. We are under attack. The shields cannot take it. They are dropping.”

“Dammit, keep the Space Minus Transmitter operational as long as we can. They need to know what happens.”

Amanda looked over to Liquidus.

“It looks like you might not even get time to call your ships. If they cause our engines to cascade then we all are gone.”

“Samuel, NOW!”

Amanda felt a tug from the center of her being. She then felt as if she was falling. She saw her body standing next to Liquidus and then she passed through the bulkhead walls and out of the ship. She could feel the other Ta’Nar from the ship and the fighters caught in the Lifelink Samuel set up to pull them to safety. The Fates quickly disappeared at the speed of thought.

Around the ship, hundreds of crew fell to the floor, no expression showing upon their faces. The other crew looked around in horror as they realized what was happening. The Ta’Nar abandoned ship.

Liquidus rushed over to the controls, accessing his communicator as he went. He bit his lip, it felt like his mind was trying to fall out of his body...

The communicator chirped.

"M'lord? Are you there!?!"

Liquidus sighed.

"I am. Listen, do not respond to this, just do EXACTLY what I say. The Fates is about to go Nova...try and get the Fleet as far away from the ship as possible, and initiate a slaved Gridsphere overload. There's a command somewhere for it. Position every ship so you make a sphere, with the Colossus in the middle. God speed, and pray that it works..."

With that, Liquidus dropped the communicator on the floor, and stamped on it, the circuitry sparking and dying. His hands danced over the controls, commands, power redirections, charts, everything flashed and vanished on the screen. Sighing, Liquidus slapped down a flashing red button, and the whole ship began to shake as a Subspace Portal began to open behind Liquidus. The crew looked, incredulous. Liquidus felt the tug again, and slowly, he began to loose conciousness...

"Go...the Portal will...save you..."

With that, Liquidus fell to the floor...and fell through. The crew stood there for a second, before they all started to jump into the Portal.

Liquidus stared in amazement as he watched The Fates shoot away from him, and then he realised something else.

Some of those crew...they just seemed to die...and it's happend to me...dammit, what's going on?

Liquidus didn't have long to ponder, as the stars began to shoot past him...

"Ready?"

"Ready sir..."

Captain Petrach watched as the last ship in the Fleet posistioned itself in it's designated place. Smiling to himself, he opened a channel to all the ships in the Fleet.

"All ships, this is Captain Petrach of the GTVA Colossus. Everything is ready. On my mark, overload your Gridsphere's as much as possible, and send the resulting energy to the Coloossus. Hopefully, our Gridsphere will go into complete overdrive, and some...energy deflecting shield will expand from the Colossus, and encompass the whole Fleet. Is everyone set?"

After a few seconds, confirmations came through from every ship. Petrach grinned.

"Initiating Slaved Gridsphere overload in 5...4...3...2...1...MARK!!!"

The Colossus shuddered as it's Gridsphere began to overload, the generator barely keeping the energy in.

"Sir, we're recieving the slaved Gridsphere power...shield will initiate in 3...2...1...now!"

The Colossus began to shake violently as the Gridsphere generator completely overlaoded, unable to contain the power inside it. The generator hummed loudly, squealed, and then...

...*VOOSH!!!!!!!*

A massive bubble expanded outwards from the Colossus, and encompassed the entire Fleet. Grinning, Petrach began to sat, down, when someone from behind him shouted...

"Sir...the unknown ship is going Nova!!!!!!!"

_________________________________________________________________

The Torq Drive overloaded and began to cascade. Energy began to leak out and a dimensional rupture occurred across all eleven known dimensions. As the rupture tore, even more the energy from the Space minus Tap backlashed and fed upon itself, caused by a temporal loop when the fourth dimension ruptured. What began as an implosion quickly turned into a strong explosion infinitely repeating itself every few picoseconds. The result was an ever increasing event horizon (not a Schwarzschild field).

The explosion grew to be the size of a star and then expanded in a brilliant nova, no a supernova. The newly created “supernova” threw a wave of energy out in every direction. When the wall struck the Oort Cloud, it vaporized the asteroids and continued onward without slowing, expanding outward from the center.

The Marduk:

“Sir, the transmission from The Fates has terminated. Scouts in the area report a stellar event.”

“Show me on the main screen”

The communications officer transferred the image from his panel to the main screen.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/beldragos/supernovab.jpg

“Dammit, did the Lifelink work?”

“I’m checking Sir.”

A few moments later the communications officer replied.

“Sir, we have about 500 Ta’Nar incoming. They made it”

_________________________________________________________________

"Sir..."

There was a groan, and something moved.

"Yes...crewman?"

"Are we alive sir?"

There was another groan.

"Aye."

"Thank you sir."

Petrach opened his eyes. Around him, red lights were flashing, and debris was piled around him. Two crewmen lifted Petrach up onto his seat.

"What happend?" He asked. One of the crewmen bit his lip.

"The Gridsphere let up. The shield protected us from the Supernova, but the Gridsphere fried itself, and quite literally, blew the ship out. Luckily, the slave link was active, so the energy was sent to every ship. We're all running at 50% average intergrity."

Petrach sighed.

"Thank god...and Liquidus?"

The crewman's face drained of all colour, and he bowed his head down. Everyone else did the same.

"Sir...Liquidus Snake...is gone, he died on the ship, and his cloning chip...did not activate."

Petrach's mouth hung open in horror and overwhelming sadness. It was a long time before he spoke.

"Set a course for the Serpantis Prime Stargate...the people need to know. And while we fly through the heavens, we'll pray for our Lord, and that he passed on peacefully."

Everyone nodded, and got to their stations. Petrach's eyes stung with tears.

He's really gone...and there was nothing we could do. Those f**king Shivans...they killed him. They will be punished, and they will suffer a wrath that no Nation has ever unleashed before...

The entire Royal Fleet shuddered, and then sped up as a Subspace Portal opened up in front of them. Every ship entered the Portal, and then, the Portal closed. All the way to the Stargate, every person on every ship bowed their heads, and muttered prayers, many cried, their tears welling up on the floor...

In a moment, the Balroggans would be able to confirm the identity of their attackers, no one else in the Universe used the same red beam weapons, no one else would want to, apart from the destroyers.

Anton's mouth hung open. They had been betrayed. It was over.

"You..." Anton pulled out his 'Bruiser' Heavy Pistol, "****ing backstabbers!"

Three loud thuds resounded throughout the vessel, followed by another two heavier thuds. Anton and his two guards stood there, their weapons smoking, Velpare lying on the ground. ? They didn't know. But Velpare couldn't stop them now. Ignoring the Chronosians, Anton and his guards ran for their lives down their transport's corridor. All three of them dived into their transport, and shut the door.

"F**k..."

Sitting in the pit, Anton activated the ship's engines. Grabbing the wheel, and turning it, the transport faced the exit...a rapidly closing one. Hitting the afterburners, the transport shot towards the closing exit...

*SCREECH!*

..And emerged from the exit, missing it's paintjob. Breathing a sigh of relief, Anton sat back in his chair.

"Sir!"

A guard gestured to him. Anton stood, up and went over to the guard, looking over the guard's shoulder.

"What is it?"

"Sir...Liquidus Snake is still on the Unknown Vessel back in Real Space...and it's...well, I don't know, but the computer's predicting a...Stellar Event!?!"

Anton's mouth hung open.

"Oh s**t. Can we save him?"

"No sir."

"Then what do we do?"

"Look ahead sir."

Anton looked up, and just saw blue, before realising...

We've left him...

The transport went through the Subspace Portal, which closed shortly after.

The Overmind screeched as it saw the Nova, the light made it back into its mind, burning its sensative eye slits. It took a good five minutes for the thing to get its sight back. During that time the Largest of the Hive ships had landed on a moon like earths and started to spred. It did so increadably fast, taking the biomass that made up the entire thing and streching it across the moon. THe Other two Hive Ships moved towards the origen of the Call. Valpare rose from the deck, her exoskeleton badly damaged, had a slight seeping as the hole from the weapons dug deeply into organic tissue. As she rose a vast screech of anger resounded through Hyper space. The Bi-Ped had shot her in the back, a cowards way to fight, now the reason for the war on the humans became apparent, most were scum and useless. They would pay for this treachery and suffer the might of the Imperium. The drum beats were sounding, the first shots had been fired, the losses and carnage had begun.

**********************

Shivan Attack Fighter Voldur

“One Hundred meters until weapons range. Beam weapons charging, cloaking capacitor nearing minimum output.” Veldak, slowly concentrated on the neural link, his mind was one with the ship, it had its own instincts, feelings and most of all mortality. It grew, and died like all life in the Galaxy, however it was now one with the Shivans. Each attack craft crept closer under the guise of stealth, finally as they crossed the attack barrier the cloaking field dropped and the vessels shuddered as the beam weapons fired.

The red beams shot forth tearing away at the weak, almost crippled shields. As the bubbles lost integrity the cannons tore into the hull, rupturing decks and atmosphere as they sliced across the vessel. Air, bodies and atmosphere seeped from breeches, while fires engulfed and raged through the stricken sections.

Veldak laughed into himself, this was too easy, almost dishonourable for his caste, however he would enjoy it the same. “All pilots, turn in ten seconds and begin firing upon the engineering section. Destroy their power source.” As the craft re-cloaked, they turned in a dance of death. Making a wide turn allowing time for the weapons to cool they once again came in for the attack. “Concentrate all firepower on section twenty one B, set passing coordinates for three, three five, and fire as soon as you’re in range.” Accepting orders with silent obedience the Shivan craft moved in once again. The beam weapons erupting in a flurry of energy caused the fighters to de-cloak. As the beams shot forth they smashed in and through the hull. Rupturing power conduits, containment fields and smashing through crew quarters, they eventually sallied forth from the other side of the vessel.

From the link Veldak detected some anxious emotions from his co-pilots. Looking at the sensor readouts himself he realised what was happening. “All ships, jump out of here now!” As the Hyperspace engines activated in a vein attempt at escape, a brilliant flash of light engulfed the craft. As the engines charged, they attempted to form a Hyperspace rift, however the discharge made no effect, the craft remained where they were. “What’s happening! Why aren’t we jumping?” Realising, too late Veldak cursed the humans with his last thought, as his squadron was engulfed in the shock wave.

**************************

Valpare, touched the ships mind. Delving through, the records she attempted to ascertain the status of her fighters, the attack craft of the Shivan fleet. Sighing, with an apparent cry of mourn she moved towards the bridge. Stopped by the star itself, an ironic end she thought. This would have to be added to the archives, scientists would have to analyse the data. A way around the disrupting nature of this vessels self destruct had to be found. The disruption of the dimensional barrier and real space was intolerable, and a danger for future engagements. Perhaps their engines could be adjusted. Only the scientists would be able to tell.

The shockwave continued to expand through the system, causing disruption where it passed. At its center a bright new stellar object shone surrounded by the fiery afterbirth of its genesis. The wave struck a planet of the original system, liquefying the surface facing the blast with the intense heat and solar radiation. Intense gravitational and dimensional interference affected areas seemingly at random. Gravitational Rifts formed and collapsed moments later. The storms in Hyperspace from the dimensional breaches caused hurricanes and eddies unheard of in any of the known histories. The breach bled energy across all dimensions and sub-dimensions, making travel unsafe and treacherous at best, fatal at worse.

The wave continues onward.

Many parsecs away The Marduk sat with her escort. Aboard the carrier deep within the ship a chamber lay awaiting several arrivals. The clone tanks stood nearby, their contents ready for the newcomers.

One by one several “presences” began to appear within the room. They were mostly felt but several shapes could be seen in the dim light. As more arrive many of the ones step forward towards the tanks, pausing a moment before stepping up and into the still forms within. The bodies, floating within the growth fluid, begin to jerk and spasms. The automatics drain the tanks and gently lift the nude human form out of the bath. Several people wait with robes and towels.

Dozens now wait to claim their new body while many more are appearing. Ghostly forms of the Psyche of the Ta’Nar stand patiently as the weaker enter their bodies first.

Into this alien scene floats Liquidus. He stands there confused by this new experience. He has been out of his body before but this is utterly bizarre to him. One of the others notice him and he feels a communication of some sort being held with the others but cannot fathom what is being “said”. Several more of the shapes crowd around him.

After a few moments a single being approaches Liquidus and he can feel a voice within his mind.

“Who are you and how did you come to be here. You are not Ta’Nar.”

"I am Liquidus Snake, ruler of Outer Heaven MK II, and I was hoping you can answer that. Am I for real? I was just on The Fates, when I left my body..."

He could feel a buzz of conversation that seemed to be above him and just out of reach. Several of the beings were conversing together. Liquidus could see more of the translucent beings arriving but it seemed to be tapering off. Soon the last of them arrived and claimed their clone, leaving wearing the robes and drying off with the towels.

“Excuse me”

Liquidus realized he was busy watching the beings climb into their new bodies and momentarily forgot about the others talking about him. Must be some sort of disorientation. He looked back to the group.

“Sorry, I find this interesting.”

Liquitus found talking without speaking simewhat unsettling. He wondered how much of his thoughts were open to these beings.

“I bet you do. We also find you interesting. Apparently you got caught in the Lifelink we used to save the Ta’Nar from the destruction of The Fates. We grabbed all the psionically active on the ship. You talk of leaving your body as if you have done this before. We think because of your latent or active psionic abilities you were able to be saved from the destruction of the ship.”

The being waited for a moment for this information to sink in.

“Yes, the ship was destroyed. The cloaked ships fired upon The Fates and overloaded the drives. The cascade caused a dimensional rupture and created a supernova. There should be nobody left within several thousand AUs of the ship. The shockwave from the implosion should almost reach half way into the system before starting to diminish in power. The interference from the event should scramble FTLs for a while until the gravitational and dimensional eddies to settle down. The first event took 20 years before travel was safe to Bryce’s Star. Since then we have taken every precaution to prevent this from happening.”

After seeing the surprised look on Liquidus’ “face”, the being explained further.

"The first ship we sent from Terra encountered a problem that caused The Divination to cascade and implode. We have successfully prevented the repeating of the conditions for about 200 years. It was not a self destruct that triggered the cascade, it was an attack. We could replicate the conditions but that would be madness and we would not consider it. That much destruction caused deliberately would make us worse than those who fired upon us.”

We will attempt to get you a clone to house your mind before you start to feel the Pull. Once you let the Pull take you, you will fade away to where spirits travel when your people die. You can use mine, I cannot feel the Pull any longer. I have evolved beyond the need for a physical form to anchor me in the Universe. I can wait for another to be grown.”

The form gestured to one of the waiting tanks.

“Take it, you can use it until we get some of your own genetic material and remake your original body.”

Black Order HQ, Wayland

I was reading the Interstellar Times, enjoying my usual cup of coffee before I get to work on sending operatives off on missions and debriefing the ones that return. I'm now thinking about the recent changes in my brothers, as they assert themselves on the eve of puberty. Taylor seems to be gaining an interesting ability to manipulate the air around him, especially in the realm of pyrokinesis and cryokinesis. Jacob, on the other hand, is studying alchemy with that extremely spicy girl Kira. I don't know how he keeps his psyche intact, but he seems to do it well. It's also cool that way, especially with Jacob, because I believe nowadays that a Jedi should always have a secondary power to fall back on, especially in light of the Force inhibitors. Me, I use magic with a wand, and am a strapping good wizard with it, if I say so myself.

They also have an interesting choice in fashion. I guess they take from their eldest brother, hehe.

Taylor opted for a black outfit: pants, shirt and thin jacket. He's also commonly seen wearing a red cloak, and had his off-blond hair braided. Oddly enough, it seems to suit the kid. Of course, he still have, shall we say, a vertically challenging problem. He's short for his age, and constantly complains about it. Loudly.

Jacob, well, his cloak is Jedi brown, like mine. But he usually goes for the 'young scientist' look these days. You know, regular pants, white collared shirt with rolled-up sleeves. That sort of thing. He's also short, but doesn't seem to mind.

Anyway, so I was finishing up the comics section, when there was a disturbance in the Force. I looked up from Peanuts, calling upon the Force, to ascern what this disturbance means. It's vague...but unsettlingly familiar, like a ghost that just won't go away. It's not the Sith, because they have a steady, though dark presence. This one is more sinister, and seems to shift in and out of reality. I narrowed my eyes. Only once before have I felt this particular presence, though I was a lot younger. If my hunch was right, we have a problem, a very big problem.

The computer fed Liquidus basic data from the history of The Balrogga Empire. His security clearance only allowed the basics known by the general population but it was still enough to intrigue him.

…The Glorious King gathered all his mages and commanded them to see out other people of great power and to bring them back to the Royal Keep to be trained in the proper use of the magic and to further advance the Kingdom…

He was wondering why this was included in their history. This sounded like one of the novels Liquidus read for relaxation.

He skipped ahead further

…The gathering of all Sorcerer King Nhur-Galladu. He then proclaimed each kingdom would belong to him and he claimed the Throne of the Emperor. From that day each Emperor or Empress would bear his name. The first action as Emperor he took was to command every mage, wizard, and sorcerer to attend the Imperial College to study High Magic. The new Emperor had a plan…

Where is the interesting parts I can use when I speak to the Emperor when he arrives? They must be here somewhere.

He skipped ahead again.

…The Emperor personally took the head position of the Casting Circle and begin to cast the Ceremony. Across the Empire there were hundreds of other circles but this one was the key. It linked all the others together and allowed everything contained in them all to be affected by his one spell he carefully devised. With this new spell he would move the empire from this world to another that would be more to his needs…

This was interesting. If this is true, then it is a new way to invade another world. I wonder if there is a way to defend against it.

He skipped ahead further.

…The Empire appeared in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of South America. The Empire immediately assumed an isolationist policy. The Spellmasters devised ways to combine the technologies of the 1950’s Earth with their magical environment so it would function. After years of research a Hybrid Technology was developed so the Empire’s technology would function correctly wherever they went…

This could prove to be vital.

Liquidus again turned to the computer to read more. Across the room a circle of energy formed. The center of the circle collapsed and Liquidus could see red lightning arcing everywhere and red mist obscuring everything. He recognized a gateway into Hyperspace.

Out of this gateway stepped a figure. It was dressed in robes of white and gold. The figure moved away from the gateway which collapsed into a red spark moments later. The figure walked directly to Liquidus. Two frail hands reached up and lowered the hood of the robe. An ancient face stared at him for a few moments. The eyes seemed to pierce his very soul. A strong voice rang through Liquidus’ mind.

“So you are this Liquidus I have heard so much about”
