Nolofinwe launches Advanced Future Warrior Program (Open RP)

The United States of Novus Scoteria and The Kingdom of Nolofinwe would like to announce that they have launched the new Future Warrior Program (FFW)....

The first who are to use this cutting-edge technology are an elite group of soldiers from the Nolian Special Forces, these men were specifically selected to form a team of twelve men to test this new equipment. "Im proud to be a part of this program that is expected to save possibly thousands of lives over the coming decades." Says Special Forces Team Commander, Captian Depaski. "The government has been working on this for a long time and I just hope we can come back and say we've done our job and give them the results they have been looking for so that we be better ready to serve our country in defending freedom around the globe."

The Team was currently deployed from White Shores, Nolofinwe to an unspecified location possibly awaiting combat orders...

The new combat systems include a weapon, head-to-toe body armor, an onboard computer for communication, built-in power sources, and enhanced physical performance...

The armor on the new uniforms will be able to absorb the shock of bullets much better than the currently issued bulletproof vests, So that when the soldier is shot, the impact is evenly distributed throughout the body so as to avoid internal damage to the wearer. Live-fire tests show that it can endure the impact unlimited direct hits by machine gun rounds.....

Also the system includes a very small light-weight, yet heavy-duty computer that sits on the wearer's lower back so that the soldier can communicate online in the middle of a desert tied in to a local, wide-area, or global tactical network. The voice-activated computer is accessed from a laser see-through screen within the helmet making all information available to the soldier through different menus, so that the soldier can communicate but still keep both hands on his weapon. The computer also monitors the soldier's over all physical condition by displaying his body core temperature, skin temperature, heart rate, whether the soldier is standing or prone, and how much water the soldier has drunk. So that now a medic can diagnose and treat the symptoms of a soldier even though he is miles away. And through the computer the medical officer also has the capability to show the soldier a map displaying were the medic is located so he can go to receive quick emergency attention and med-evac if needed.....

In addition the uniform also has very advanced Nanotechnology. Nanotechnology enables the creation of incredibly small materials or systems with a scaled-down size of 100 nanometers or less (the nanometer is a metric measurement that is equivalent to one billionth of a meter). This enables our Special Forces to engage in advanced unconventional warfare. For instance, a soldier can be walking down the street in normal everyday clothing, and then suddenly when the enemy opens fire on him the soldier immediately turns into an amazing display of high-tech armor that deflects bullets as it senses them coming in his direction....

The last fascinating feature about this technology are the Nano-Muscle Fibers (NMFs). These muscle enhancers coat the outside of the armor with a nanomuscle fiber that gives the soldier 45 percent better lifting capability.....

The Government of Nolofinwe is willing to discuss the sale of this new technology with other nations of good relations with the kingdom. Suits may range from 1 to 80 million dollars.....

So...basically. you're creating a modern-day superhero?

ooc: your suit, i would call godmoding, if it can take hits indefinitely from machineguns. And cybernetic muscle aids are ok, but nano-tech that can "flip" requires a powersource not based in the clothing.

The bases for the suit comes from actual equipment being perfected by the us army, some of the features i mentioned are expected to be in use around 2020, i just enhanced it slightly.

and no i wouldn't call it godmodding because it's possible, some of that stuff, including the armor, exists....

ooc: I use a suit like this, but limit it to my post-modern semi-future 2015-2030ish version of The Phoenix Militia, its all possible and I would bet in the next 20 years we will see it on the battle field.

Nanites dont exist, and certainly not in the way you describe. Also "perfecting" is not quite the right word. Maybe "considering looking into" would be better.

ooc: i use nanites to strengthen my combat armor, and fiber optics to distort visual signature.

Converting a trenchcoat into something between combat and power armour is a pretty tricky feat without either a heavy or a dangerous and expendable power source. Even with something onboard that could do the job, there is no way in hell the plainclothes form will let you pass as a civilian.

And unlimited fire sustainment would also be almost impossible, though the counter-bullet armor would be certainly enough for the soldier to get out of harm's way unless ve was being hunted specifically.

No other critical problems, though I'd still go with independent weapons (possibly with a wireless or contact connection for weapon and scope data? You're hooking everything else into it, but that's okay; just watch out for user overload.)

just so you know, just because it can endure the impact unlimited direct hits by machine gun rounds doesn't make the wearer invincible, i mean if you hit him with an RPG it would be over....

OOC: That's pretty godmodded too... I mean the force of the impact alone would bruise ribs etc even if it didnt penetrate, which it eventually would, and quickly if you're being hit by 10 or more rounds each second.
