Pope Thaller Calls For Crusade to Holy Land

Speaking from the balcony of the Jackson City Vatican, Pope Herman Von Thaller I had this to say, which was broadcast over the White Peoples Radio and Television Network.

"Our brethren in the lands to the east, in the lands of Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine, our Christian brethren that attempt to pilgrimage to the Holy Land are in trouble, they have come under attack from the barbarian hordes pouring forth and sweeping across the land like a vile plague or a swarm of locus or a ravenous band of rats. The time has come that we take up the sword of the Lord and we move forward to reclaim our ancestral lands and the land of God. We must undertake an exertion for Him who is most holy.

A call to all brethren, to all the faithful, to all those who care about their immortal soul and the judgement of the Lord, a call to the world of the believers to stand firm against the unbeliever. Indeed a call to the forces of righteousness and light to raise arms against the forces of darkness and evil. This is a call to the most holy of deeds. A call to crusade.

O sons of God, you have promised more firmly than ever to keep the peace among yourselves and to preserve the rights of the church, there remains still an important work for you to do. Freshly quickened by the divine correction, you must apply the strength of your righteousness to another matter which concerns you as well as God.

For your brethren who live in the east, in the Holy Land, are in urgent need of your help, and you must hasten to give them the aid which has often been promised them. For, as the most of you have heard, the Turks and Arabs have attacked them and have conquered the territory of the Holy Land.

They have occupied more and more of the lands of those Christians, and have overcome them in numerous battles. They have killed and captured many, and have destroyed the churches and devastated the empires of Christendom.

If you permit them to continue thus for awhile with impurity, the faithful of God will be much more widely attacked by them. On this account I, or rather the Lord, beseech you as Christ's heralds to publish this everywhere and to persuade all people of whatever rank, foot-soldiers and knights, poor and rich, to carry aid promptly to those Christians and to destroy that vile race from the lands of our God. I say this to those who are present, it meant also for those who are absent. Moreover, Christ commands it.

All who die by the way, whether by land or by sea, or in battle against the pagans, shall have immediate remission of sins. This I grant them through the power of God with which I am invested. O what a disgrace if such a despised and base race, which worships demons, should conquer a people which has the faith of omnipotent God and is made glorious with the name of Christ! With what reproaches will the Lord overwhelm us if you do not aid those who, with us, profess the Christian religion! Let those who have been accustomed unjustly to wage private warfare against the faithful now go against the infidels and end with victory this war which should have been begun long ago.

Let those who for a long time, have been robbers, now become knights. Let those who have been fighting against their brothers and relatives now fight in a proper way against the barbarians. Let those who have been serving as mercenaries for small pay now obtain the eternal reward. Let those who have been wearing themselves out in both body and soul now work for a double honor. Behold! on this side will be the sorrowful and poor, on that, the rich; on this side, the enemies of the Lord, on that, his friends. Let those who go not put off the journey, but rent their lands and collect money for their expenses; and as soon as winter is over and spring comes, let hem eagerly set out on the way with God as their guide."

Hundreds of thousands of faithful Mississippian youths (mostly between 14 and 17) have simply not shown up to school instead marching, driving, or riding in military vehicles south towards the beaches along the Gulf of Mexico, armed with all the weapons and equipment they can carry, heading for ships that have been hired to transport Crusaders to the Holy Land.

Bishop Wolfram von Geroldseck has decided to lead the crusade, which thus far numbers approximately 900,000 youths, 200,000 adults, and 300,000 active duty military personnel who have used up all their leave to take part in this exertion for God.

Over 10,000 tanks and other armored military vehicles are readying to embark at ports in southern Mississippi, all of the vehicles are privately owned or were purchased by wealthy churches to equip the Cruasders for their mission that lies ahead.

"We will be departing within three months time, we hope to gather a force of at least five million believers. We are calling all faithful of Christ together to destroy once and for all, the plague that is cursing the Holy Land, the plague of radical Islam and the last vestiges of Zionism, it is time we complete what the Great Arab Israel Wars on the 1990s did, Israel is no longer a state, but there are still isolated Zionist settlements of zealots, let us clear those away, sweep them aside, for the Greater Glory of God! God is Great! God is Great!"

Bishop Wolfram von Geroldseck

"In other news, we plan to have our entire fleet of ships, probably at least two thousand ships, stop over for at least one week in Lisbon in Portugal, to replenish supplies and rest, before we move onwards into the Mediterranean. We are grateful that Kaiser Alec understands our needs and will accommodated us."

Hoping that Hallad and other comrades of the Worker's State will act as a detterent for military action, Muhammad has stated that he will send military support into Israel, Syria, or any other nation which is attacked by the fundamentalist forces being sent to conquer them.

Muhammad has now called for a show of Solidarity. He has stated, "We must stand firm and not let these imperialists take those sovereign lands." He gave several speeches, in arabic and english, over the radion today. All of them were broadcast in various middle eastern nations. They called for Solidarity and that the people of the middle east resist the Mississippian opressors. While there has not been a large responce yet, there are several reports of militia gatherings though out the middle east.

Meanwhile, at Army bases across Taldaan, last minute weapons practice was being given to the three-hundred thousand men and women who would be fighting. Desert combat gear was being handed out, and the soldiers instructed in its operation. Unfortunately, not all of Taldaani body armour would be suitable for desert combat. After checks, it had been judged that of the armour, only the kevlar jumpsuit could be kept. Hopefully, the enemy would be doing the same.

OOC: TAG

Somewhere, possibly on a large artificial island in the Central pPacific

Somewhere high above, a few odd melon-sized satellites were happily taking shots of Mississippi and her various nations and enemies. It wasn't that the Weyrean government really cared about what a few undeveloped states did, but rather that those satellites had to pass over the said states to get to the more interesting spots on the blue-white globe of Terra, and it was a waste not to take some pictures along the way. Those were the stats run by the Tower and the Diplomatic Service.

The stats run by telecast agencies, on the other hand, were quite interested in what a few undeveloped states did to kill one another. Thus, the crusaders were soon to find themselves the stars of a brand new reality TV show.

"The Inbred Crusade?" someone offered at the TriDimensional Reverb brainstorm session over the new show. They had the pilot episode, and the rest of the production, but they needed a good name, and Marketing was not coming up with anything.

"Nah. Too racist," came the mutterings.

"Who wants to kill a Fabus?" another suggestion.

"Already done," the project leader pointed out.

"Really?"

"Yeah. It burned and died because the assasins were idiots," someone responded.

"Hmmm....maybe....Fragawasc! a sprite exclaimed.

"Huh?" the project leader blinked.

"Frag a White Anglo-Saxon Christian!"

"You know...that might just work..." there were nods and laughs.

"We might offend some of our christian viewers..." the 'c' was obviously lower case by the way he said it.

"we have those?" someone asked incredulously.

"Not anymore," someone laughed.

They were to create havoc with the Mississippian fleet in the Gulf of Suez. They crew had trained hard and knew exactly what their submarines were capable of.

The submarines came into deeper water and began to submerge. They were at a depth of 300 feet. Both SS-1 and SS-2 went at the speed of 20 knots. The sonar officers listened carefully for any activity, especially since the Kilo's passive radar system was not all it should be.

Admiral Boris was in charge of the 2nd Fleet of the Commonwealth sent to blockade the Mediterranean Sea from any Mississippian vessels that may try to land on Arab lands. The Fleet traveling at maximum speed was expected to reach their destination in a couple of hours, just enough time to prep up the planes for any surprise that they may encounter.

The Admiral look out to see with his binoculars searching for enemy vessels, he didn’t want to sink them as most of the crusaders were mere children but he had orders to protect the Arab borders from incursion from the Mediterranean Sea. Besides if the Mississippians were foolish enough to attempt something like this after being told not to by the international community so be it, they now were an enemy of the Commonwealth.

Back on the Homeland Naval Command began thinking of the best way to transport a ground army to the Middle East if things escalated too much, although the Paratroopers and Airborne Division could easily lend support to the ground army already in position, the rest of the division would need to be either airlifted or transported by sea to the theater of operations.

A message was sent to the Halladi Government as they were one of the major powers in the region:

We have dispatched our 2nd Fleet over to the Mediterranean Sea to help safeguard the sea borders of the Arab nations, we ask that our naval forces work in conjunction to better safeguard the area. We also need a place to land our ground army should hostilities escalate further, so we request a safe place to land our troops for the up coming ground campaign.

He has refused to comment on who is bankrolling the operation, stating only, "Three wise men." (ooc- the Committee of Three, Dieter Thaller, Hans Stahlecker, and Harold Fabus, also known as the "Mississippian National Domestic Advisory Committee")

Ooc-

My sources inform me you're looking for any reason to get a war with me IC for OOC reasons. I'd like to know, could I say, "If your leader eats a candy bar, I consider it a declaration of war against me." Surely I can say I consider it a declaration of war, but unless one is directly attacked, there is no legitimate cause for war. You sir, are attempting to provoke a war with me at all costs, hence your naval crap. Shame on you for pursuing OOC goals ICly.

Granted I more than recognize your right (And wouldn't IC ignore) you sending troops to the Holy Land to defend it.
[OOC-The hell is this? Your "sources" are obviously full of s***. And "sources"? Since when have I said anything about that anywhere? Never. You are also full of s*** about these non-existent "sources." Although you and your "sources" might let OOC reasons cloud IC judgement, I sir feel I am on a higher level of RP then someone who does that. Why declare war against you? Hmm...a number of reasons.

1. Your base violations of national sovereignty, numerous times and for reasons more idiotic then the ones I am giving you now, though I don't need to, are freaking out my leaders. We don't let anyone and by this I mean anyone simply go about randomly invading countries. Which you and your allies seem to be doing with frequency more and more often.

2. This ties in with #2. We are sick of seing the official government position be peace and happiness and "private" citizens who just happen to get the latest arms go gallavanting about the world. We're going to put an end to that once and for all. Or at least try.

3. We view you as a threat to world peace, as well as half your ruling families. End of story there.

4. We're sick of your incessant and annoying bluster and are determined to "pay the piper" as some folks may say it.

So though I may hate you OOC (Which I don't) and want to crush you OOC (which I don't really want to) I will base my RPs on tangible IC goings-on. And please don't try to argue this point. I think I have clarified- which is more then I ever needed to do.

But I don't think it's realistic that a nation that isn't connected to the Holy Land would attack my homeland for the actions of a few religious zealots that the Czar doesn't even like, and if he weren't bed-ridden, would put in their place.

Well, there's mixing of OOC and IC stuff. How do we know your leader doesn't like them? How do we know he's so ill he can't do a thing about it? Where are the reprimands against me now? They should be against that statement, not against my perfectly legitimate ones.

And not connected to the Holy Land? Councilman #7 of the Cpuncil of Thirteen is a freaking archbishop! Three of the people that are going to be fighting you are allies in some way! And you'e saying that waves of violence engulfing the Holy Land with even more Muslim-Christian hate do not connect to me?! Get real.

I can and will intervene, if this action comes to fighting. And I've just wasted five minutes of my life explaining why I can, something I never should have had to do in the first place.

I call upon every descent Monotheist in this nation. To rise and to fight this Plague of Mississippi that is crusading to the cradle of God! I know that few will answer the call to Jihad. But those that do are being watched and guarded by GOD! And though their flesh may expire, in the fight to take the Heavenly Sands from the hands of Satan, their souls will rise and sit before the Lord as his warriors and servants."

The crowded stadium rose clapping and screaming with zealot rage at the words of Speaker Haya. He approached the crowd giving his Blessing to all in reach of his outstretched hands as his Eelami bodyguards ushered the maniacs away from him as his vassals threw sheets of white silk from above. Candles across the Kingdom were lighted by zealots who bowed before the shrines in their houses as they reported for training the next day.

So far the force stands at:

50 Mechanized Knights
300 Support Squires(an all in one group they are technicians, medics, and support role fighters)
80 Monotheist Speaker Priests
30 Heavy Carriers

OOC: Mechanized Knights are the elite or the elite armored/mech forces. It's future tech but not really far in the future. They have a basic armor structure two mounted machineguns with RPG attachment. The Support Squires use Chain Guns and the priests are just there to give the troops spiritual support. Anything you need me to clarify I'd be happy to.

Doomingsland
31-12-2004, 04:50
The Doomingslandian crusaders were far fewer in number than the Mississipians, only 5,000. However, these men weren't to be taken lightly, as they were all ex-legionnaries. All of them were trained from birth to be nothing but soldiers, and were genetically pure (no birth defects or any of that stuff), and were good at what they did. After leaving the military, they kept the same level of skill and profesionalism by forming mercenary groups, and serving in other conflicts. They were incapable of feeling emotion, and were religious fanatics. They especialy exceled in desert warfare since Doomingsland is nothing but a barren desert. They were equiped with surplus XM8s and XM29s, along with land warrior systems. They also brought 150 RM30 Emperor MBTs, so generously donated to them by the Imperial Government. There was also another 150 armored vehicles of various makes, mostly M11A1 Legionnary IFVs and CFVs, but it would be enough for the type of war their commander, Paladin Marcus Magnus, planned on fighting. A nice, quick, mobile fight was what he hoped for. This wasn't a land grab, strictly a support op for the Mississipian and other forces.

The small fleet that carried them, 5 privately owned frieghters, all crewed by former members of the Imperial Navy, was right behind the Mississipian fleet, and would appear inconspicious. Paladin Magnus stood on the bridge of the frieghter St. Joseph, looking out towards the coast of Africa. His aid, Major James Gnaeus approached him, and handed him a slip of paper.

"A message from the Emperor himself, brother. He wishes us well, and places his moral support behind the crusade."

"I know, James, I've met him personaly. He's a man of his God, and a great warrior." replied Magnus without even reading it. His thoughts were elsewhere at the moment. He was busy concocting plans to foil the greatest minds the Heretics could throw at him...

It is all those nations who refuse to acknowledge the fact that sooner rather than later, there will be a final war and a Second Coming that will be regarded as evil and a menace to the world in my books. But, when this Second Coming occurs, nations like Mississippi will be the first on the list to be greeted into the gates of Heaven. I plan my nation and my people to be right up their with them.

Western Asia

OOC: As one who is generally recognized as holding these territories (ref: RL Nation Claims Thread (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=288779&page=1&pp=15&highlight=Western+Asia)), unless IDF would like to step into this (as one who has previous contact with DA in the region) I will be assuming control over those recognized territories of Western Asia as are listed on the claims thread as well as claims that remain to be ratified there (Iran, as gained from Daylam in RP) but which exist otherwise in the WA'n world.

Any objections?

IC: With news of the religion-tinged threats placed against the heart of Western Asian territory, the IDF (OOC: WA's army, not the NS nation of the same name) is placed on high alert.

In the Middle East. Around Western Asia
Combat Air Patrols are increased and the Air Defense Force is called up. Air Force Reservists report to their bases and set about preparing their aircraft for action. The Air Force itself begins distributing air-to-air missiles as well as the thousands of ASMs that are availible to aircrews across the nation. Anti-Ship Missile Batteries ashore are armed and crewed. The massive Gatekeeper ULA missile carriers are floated into the air with full loads of long range strike missiles while the BM-747 Cruise Missile Carriers are called onto Ready Alert.

Marines are ordered to report to their bases and are sometimes flown from outlying provinces to the Israel Province, where the enemy has threatened to attack.

In the seas around Western Asia, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Naval Grand Fleets and the 6th and 7th Amphibious Assault Ready Group the are deployed into the Mediterranean Sea, the Black Sea, and the Gulf of Suez. The 4th and 12th Grand Fleets and the 8th and 9th AARGs are ordered to concentrate at strategic locations along the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea through the Persian Gulf. Elements of the 1st NGF are also deployed into the Caspian to seal off the defensive net.

In the Atlantic. Atlantic Islands Province.
The 2nd AARG and 7th NGF are ordered to concentrate around their home bases while sending the majority of their forces to outside the straits of Gibraltar, where they will enforce an anti-DA embargo on all ships that they encounter. Elements of the 6th NGF and 4th AARG from Madagascar are called up to support the efforts and patrols are established to prevent enemy passage around Africa. Some of the ships are ordered to Cuba to back up Western Asian forces there. The 8th NGF is called down from Ellesmere Island to support operations.

In the Pacific. Pacific Islands Province and Australian Naval Base.
The 10th and 11th NGFs and the 3rd AARG are called upon to establish patrols in the mid- and south-Pacific.

In the Caribbean. Cienfuegos, Cuba.

The 9th NGF and 5th AARG are mobilized and ordered to prepare for possible counter-strikes against DA territory. Anti-Ship Missile Batteries at WA bases about the island are armed and prepared for possible action. High Altitide Long Endurance (HALE) UAVs are launched to observe the massing DA forces from afar, while LEO satellites record the massing for worldwide distribution.

OOC: The IDF's Naval Corps includes 21 Superscale Fleets, which consist of a total of 81 major deployable groups (not including non-combatant, coastal patrol, specialty service, experimental, reserve, or supply/support groups).

EDIT: paused pending resolution of DA-deleted-once-again issue.

"You need to return home, to your families, your mothers and your fathers, in time you will be old enough to fight, but for now you must all live and propser, for if you prosper, Mississippi will propser, and we need you for you are our future."

(Back to the news)
"The Crusaders, mostly adults are left now, have begun the final preparations to embark at the Biloxi ports. The Czarina has made it clear in other speeches that neither her or the Czar support the idea of this crusade, and wish the people would just return home. Many seem willing to comply, but it seems at least three-hundred thousand will carry on with the crusade, hoping to pick up more followers along the way."

The large metal doors to the "Food Distribution Center" opened wide. People swarmed in from all sides of the four large metals doors, squeezing through, eager to get a hold of a weapon. The six standard issued government trucks opened from the rear to reveal various Assualt Rifles, RPGs, and pistols. Once a person had a weapon he was directed to several underground basements which led to four exits, each across the city. Once there they returned home. The six other "Food Distrubtion Centers" followed similar procedure. Within months a force of 2,000,000 citizens would be fully armed and massed. An armada of privately owned ships were being assembled in various ports. Although no official armament the crew had the ability to store more than enough.

They plunder the land of its knowledge and riches, destroy religous structures of other religions and drives many religions that once was the peaceful into a state of barbaracy. Now it has happened again, despite many leaving the cause, many loyal fanatics still desire to see the Holy Land in flames again. We must fight now to protect what is sacred and we will succeed or we perish under the crusaders' mercy. Lets us fight to protect the holy land from marauders of all kinds. Let us fight so religions will exist with each other. Let us fight for the Holy Land's freedom." After his invigorating speech, the leader of his group headed off with over 100000 men to prepare for battle....

To the leader of the Crusade.

We are not at quarrel with your group but are trying to defeat the crusaders who are preparing to strike. Men are already on route to fight, The Holy Republic hopes that no relations will be damaged as a result of this battle.

Official Imperial Statement:

We wish it to be known that we will in no way be connected to those who are for or against the crusade. Unfortunately many citizens have demanded we open our ports to the crusaders and so we will. But the mass that is joining the crusade had been instructed not to shoot any allies, wheather (SP?) for or agaisnt the crusade uder any conditions. We have an armada in the straits of Gibraltar but they will remain neutral and only fire if fired upon. They will however provide medical aid to ANY who need it and will take on any wounded persons brought or come to them during any naval battles.

Communique from Pope John XVI

To: DA bishop

I stand behind you in this manner and if I had an army I would pledge it. Our nation controls Italy, the entire eastern coastline opposite it except Greece, the islands surrounding Italy, France, and other non-coastal areas. We have pressured our government to allow you to come to our ports. You can spend time here and re-supply as well as prepare for the coming battles. Our nation is very close to attaining control of the strait of Gibralter and thusly has a sizeable armada there. Unfortunately they will not budge in their decision to not seal off the strait or attack those trying to block it. We will send a small armada ourselves to try and open a path for you when you come. The Borman ships have vowed to only fire if fired upon and to help any persons who need medical help during the naval battles.

Currently we have persuaded roughly 1,000,000 to join the cause. Nearly half are ex-military men, the other half mainly adults fresh out of their teen years.

“Down scope,” barked Commander Joseph Wainton, captain of the Samtonian Attack Sub the Octapod. His was one of the many submarines strung out across the Atlantic, all occupying routes that the fleet leaving Biloxi was projected to take. There weren’t all that many- go all the way around the Caribbean, avoiding Samtonian territorial waters, then out to Africa and then up to the Middle East or go straight over the Caribbean to a direct route. There were subs along both approaches, as well as a select few scattered about within the Caribbean Sea.

Another sizeable submarine force was waiting somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic, ready to move to block the path of the fleet once it was ascertained. Any of the fleet that remained, that was.

Wainton looked back down at the communiqué in his hands, direct from COMSUBLANT. Orders were given to terminate any ships from Convoy 45 that were possible, with emphasis on supply and capital ships. That meant for only the fourth time in his occupation, he had free control over his sub and its actions.

“Sir, it must have just been a wave. Looked almost like a patrol boat though, sir.”

Wainton smiled, his young sonar operator trying to cover his bases for the faulty Blue Alert. “It’s okay Jim. We all make mistakes.”

Sonarman Morrisey frowned slightly. “But sir, it was reasonable. I heard through the grapevine a sizeable fleet had departed and their position would be about here if it were-“

Wainton shook his head at the younger man’s words. “Son, it’s all bull and you know it. Dreamed up by some merchant mariner who thought he saw the ghost ships. That was after his second drink, that cockamamie story about a fleet after his sixth. We’ve got a massive line of submarines ready for anything. Why would we ever need a fleet?”

SNS Pestilence
“Why the hell would we ever need a fleet?” groaned Commander Percy Johnston, third in command of the massive Doujin MkII Refit the SNS Pestilence. It was the pride of the Samtonian navy, complete with air wings, guns with range as long as some cruise missiles, and a crew numbering in the thousands. But of course this wasn’t the only ship that was in the fleet. Massive Pollock-class supercarriers, the towering Inferno-class Heavy Cruisers (affectionately known as “pocket battleships”), Iowa-2 class battleships, and numerous other types of escorts and cruisers. All in all, a fleet to be reckoned with.

But they weren’t doing anything but tossing in the stormy Atlantic. Shaking his head, Johnston, turned back to the war room where the teleconference was taking place. Lines of dots and clusters of the same dots denoted submarine pickets and reaction forces. These blue marks were significantly smaller then the massive cluster that made up the fleet they were now in, with a small area left around the back of the Doujin. The Pestilence had lost a reactor but a year ago after all and radiation still leaked out, in enough quantities the crews in the engine rooms had to wear HAZMAT suits to contain the hazard.

But what interested the gathered commanders was the cluster of red that was in Biloxi, ready to sail. It represented the enemy, one that was soon to be put out of its misery. Of course, it looked like there were enough subs to send it to a watery grave ten times over, and Johnston wanly looked at the map, ruing the day someone had decided to send their fleet up to the middle of the Atlantic to do something. Something that appeared to be in the capable hands of the submariners.

You do realize that I've made it clear in IMs, I don't want the crusaders bothered to any large degree until they get to the Holy Land, sack a few cities, and then there will be some "Hattin" style battles. (Most of the soldiers have little desert experience since they largely served in Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee)

But if you want to get some kicks from sinking a few ships, there are well over 1,000 ships, so a few won't get too sorely missed.

General Rima saw the move to the north-west boarder personally. The 75,000 men of the Halladi divisions on MELF were supported by nearly 600,000 men, divided into Logistic Brigades of 200 men. Only 28,000 men were at the boarder currently, but there were plenty moving in at a fast rate. And, under the cover of the Hawks, they were quite safe.

Rima was on the edge of a small plateau. There were over 90,000 men from Nova Romana comming in soon. Only a small chunk would get there before the crusaders landed, however, they would make a differance.

"Comrade," She called out, "How is the transit?"

Another General, placed under Rima's command in the MELF, came walking up behind her. "Fine, the rest should get here within the week. They're saying the Fabus families' scrounged up quite a force."

Rima sighed. "I could care less about these 'crusaders.' They have almost no training in the desert."

But, that's what Military Intelligence says. They're not always the most accurate guys."

"I realise this. You know that Omar." She turned to him with her arms crossed. "But, it's all we have to go on. We'll give these bastards the fight of their lives, if it's the bloody last thing I do."

Archbishop Grigori Batov watched the news.

"So, the Mississippians want a crusade, huh? That area belongs to Orthodoxy, not Catholicism. I will call the Order of Aleksandr Nevski. It is time for war."
-------------------------------------------------------------------
TO ALL GOOD CHRISTIANS IN UPPER XEN

My brothers, I call you here today. The Antichrist Bishop Wolfram von Geroldseck, and his apostates, lead a false crusade into the Holy Land.

We must not let the apostates take control. For too long, they have laid claim to this land, letting their heresy and their hypocrisy spread dissent and hate. We will end this.

Effective Immediately, I call upon the members of the Order of Aleksandr Nevski to go to arms. We go to the Holy Land, Brothers, for we fight a great mission of justice.

I also urge all good Christians in Upper Xen, regardless of denomination, to join us. You will be rewarded in heaven.

Grigori Batov
Archbishop of Harbin
Russian Orthodox Church of Upper Xen

-----------------------------------------

As Batov said this message, the 125,000 men of the Order of Aleksandr Nevsky, from all over Upper Xen, assembled in their Harbin convent, along with 50,000 others who wanted to join them. Recieving M-14 rifles, LAW rockets, grenades, and parachute packs, they soon assembled in the town square, surrounded by M113 APC's, M60 and T-4 tanks purchased by the Order, and marched to war. In this case, to Harbin International Airport.

----------------------------------------------------------

Gordon Lew, hearing this, went, "Goddamn! Batov......he's a nice guy, but he just can't quit."

He later issued a statement:

"For the Love of God. Batov, cease this Crusade. I will have you and your Order in jail if you do not stop. Turn in your guns, and go home."

Not surprisingly, nobody listened.

"General Rima!" A young officer called out.

Fellah looked over her shoulder, past Omar. There was a lieutenant making his way toward her, waving a piece of paper. He finally got up to her, by now Omar had turned to look at him. The man saluted and then squated for a moment. Omar patted him on the back.

"You alright, comrade?"

"Yes, comrade, thank you." The officer responded. "General Rima, I have new intelligence reports. It's about Upper Xen."

"More support?" She said with a smile.

"I'm afraid not." Both Fellah's and Omar's facial expressions changed. Before they had a chance to say anything the lieutenant spoke again. "Christain fundamentalists have rallied an army. Over 100,000 men. They're launching a 'counter-crusade.' I guess they have their own plans for the 'Holy Land.'"

Rima sighed. She held out her hand, asking for the paper. The officer handed it to her, and then she gave him a look that said "Dismissed." The officer then left the two generals. Fellah threw her arms around Omar. He put his arms around her as to comfort her.

"Can we win, comrade?" Fellah asked Omar.

"Of course, love. We'll defeat these bastards. Then we can go back to Hallad and be heros. Start a life together."

Fellah let go of him, and moved away from him enough to see his face. He was smiling, as was she. She turned to the moving army. Omar had his arm around her shoulder.

"We shall prevail." He said.

General Aquillia Serrana of the Nova Romana military watched as the First Armored Division finishes disembarking from the port in Saudi Arabia. This was but one of the six Nova Romana divisions that were arranged to deployed to help fight against the Crusade. More ships are pulling into port all the time. Working against he clock to get men, equipment, and supplies unloaded. The operation goes about in a very organized and efficient manner. One of Serrana’s staff offices comes up to him and speaks to him. “Sir, the 1st Armored Legion has finished disembarking, and is ready to deploy to the combat sector.”

Despite the good news Serrana frowns is disappointment. “Not good enough. It is taking us too long to get all our troops out. We don’t have enough transport ships to deploy all our forces as fast as need them. I’m going to go with the 1st Armored Legion to reinforce our ally Hallad at the border. Arrange to send the other divisions as they deploy. I will need every man I can get to stop there “Crusaders”.”

The staff officer seems nervous as he speaks. “Do you know how we are going to beat them? I mean… there army is just huge. They are all crazy nuts that are willing to kill themselves just at the thought of...”

Serrana puts his hand up to stop his staff officer. “You call this rabble an army? It is a joke, a bad one at that. Our forces are much better armed, trained, disciplined and organized then they will ever be. We have the advantage of being on the defensive, we will be close to our supply bases with Hallad’s help, our air bases are secure, and we have a large number of allies in the area. These Crusaders are largely armed with small arms, have to make landing against fortified beaches ,they are ill-equipped for the desert, and have to depend on their fleet for supplies. They are vulnerable in any number of areas. It will be a hard fight, but I am certain that we can win. We are deploying well over 90,000 troops to join up with the Middle-Eastern Liberation Front. We are highly mobile so it shouldn’t take up too long to get the front once our forces out of those accursed ships. Nova Romana will show these maniacs just what we can do. Make sure our forces get deployed as fast as they can. I need to take care of other things.” General Serrana walks off and climbs into a command and control vehicle. It drives off and joins with the 1st Armored Legion.

General Rosavia Gray looked over her disembarking troops only 100km down the coast from the allied NovaRomanan (is that right?) forces. The NovaRomana forces were disembarking slowly while the Maldathians had more transport veichles were moving much quicker. Dropships buzzed over head from far out carriers carrying the soldiers then the Logistic Personnel. The General was sure that the Romanan General was displeased with the speed of work.

"I want a A3-Land Bike ("Skiff") readied on the double. TO be sent down with the next LMAC."

"Roger"

The general lowered the radio back to her combat belt and donned her beret (Those little frenchie hat thing'o's) She wiped her brow and looked back to the some straggling Shadow Marshals who were to be deployed by the end of the day.

"Oi. Stop ******* around. You are all with the 17th Marshal Squad?"

The Marshals stoped in the spot and saluted her before one piped up.

"Yes mam. We are 4 of the 7 from the 17th Mam!"

She smiled.

"Well you just earnt some play time. Gather the rest of the squad and run down to the NovaRomanan Divisions. Your my messengers. Tell them that they should need help to only ask for assistance unloading troops. Get there before the next LMAC!"

"Mam!"

They grunted as nearby 17th Marshal members sprinted down the uneven coastline. (Heh heh heh)

The small Doomingslandian crusader fleet was nearing Stalhecker City. Once there, they would quickly unload, and head toward the Holy Land. The men aboard the ships were growing hungry for battle, a thing which they sorely missed. Their equipment would actualy be better than most of the forces defending the Holy Land, but there was the issue of air support. The only air support they had was a squadron of AH64Ds and Blackhawks, ill suited for taking on fighters. They were, however, better equiped to fight running battles, so they would use that to their advantage.

After hearing the Apartheid Declaration thousands of young black men were pouring out with the Crusader Battle Group of Camel Eaters this news saddens me for many will die for the lands that our religions of PEACE sprang forth from. I call upon all Monotheists of untainted mind to descend upon the Holy Land in the name of peace and brotherly love. I will lead this myself and I hope to see you all there.
-Speaker Renna.

Thousands of people just got up and began walking to the airfields where the original Crusaders were boarding alongside the young black men who wanted to kill Mississippians. Those that were denied bought airplanes all to their own and began to fly to the Holy Land. All in all over a million people had decided to go in the name of peace. The Mechanized Knight's suits had been oiled and the ARL (Africana Reclamation League) gunmen were in their tents for the night. The squires leaned back against the suits of their respective knight their guns clean and their minds filled with seens of battle to come.

Secret IC:

News that blacks would be pouring into the Holy Land en masse sent Henry Stahlecker (Western Sahara) and William Fabus (South Africa) into a rage. Both of the governor-generals decided to covertly transfer RSBW (Racially Specific Biological Weaponry) in the form of ebola tailored against blacks, to the Crusaders once they stopped over in Western Sahara and then again in Mississippian Egypt.

Most of the stockpiles would be flown out of Cape Town, to Windhoek, then to Cabinda, and then across much of Central Africa and Western Africa until it reached Stahlecker City in Western Sahara. They would be flown in 36 C-130s and C-17s, guarded by a dozen or so MiG-41s and two dozen F-16Ds.

The flight was due to leave Cape Town in a few days, timed to get to Western Sahara a few days before the Crusaders arrived, no sooner for the governor-generals involved didn't want the RSBW sitting around any longer than necessary.

Finnaly, the Doomingsland Crusader Fleet arrived in Stahlecker City, and began unloading the Crusaders, who wore full battle gear. The men marched down the gank planks of the freighters, and formed ranks. The infantry would exit the city to make camp, but would be allowed to head back in (unarmed) to buy supplies and suveniers. The vehicles would take 24 hours to unload from the ships, and their crews stayed with them.

Upon their unloading, the infantry marched in step through the streets to exit the city. They wore their VEPR S2 systems, the built in visors making them look futuristic, but the XM8s they carried would be farmiliar to the Mississipians.

"Well, men, it looks like we've finally reached Duba."
The fleet had spent agonisingly long moving up the Red Sea, and many of the men were grumbling. No-one wanted to be stuck in a troop transporter for days, but that was what the Taldaani soldiers had just done. It was a long way from Taldaan to Duba.
The massive ships landed at the port. After so long on deck with the sun beating down, even the endless sands of Hallad looked welcoming. The locals were friendly enough and some helped unload the equipment. Trucks and armoured vehicles rolled off their transporters, and the soldiers disembarked with their rifles slung over their backs. A few of them were singing, either the national anthem or the Commie Bastard Song, the more fun version of the national anthem. While Taldaan is by no means a jingoistic society, they knew that they would be fighting Mississippians, the most parodied people in Taldaani comedy.
General Jaeger disembarked with a group of his men. He would be masterminding this attack. And the first thing to do was tell the Halladi High Command that Taldaan had come to their aid.

Meanwhile, the Crusaders of the Order mobilized at Port Arthur/Dailan. Assembing there along with 100,000 more men, their total strength equated to over 325,000 men.

In addition, the Order had begun to purchase weapons and supplies using donations, and hire mercenary crews.

The result looked something like this:

325,000 men, armed with M16A1's, M-14's, Mini-14's, M21's, and M79's and M72 LAW's and some SMAW's, plus M1911's as sidearms.

4 Togo-Nimitz carriers with 72 F-35's each
6 Sacramento Class Supply Ships
2 Oliver Hazard Perry Frigates
3 Seadragon Improved 688's (locally made version of Los Angeles class, given Seawolf electronics package and other upgrades)
250 T-4 tanks
2,500 UH-60 helicopters
300 AH-64 Apache Helicopters
50 G5 artillery cannons
88 Wasp Class Amphibious Landing Ships capable of carrying 2,000 men each
and
25-35 Sacramento Class Supply Ships to support all of them

Many people were hustling and bustling to get things ready in the harbor. Batov got on top of a rostrum and spoke.

"My brothers and sisters, I thank you for your generous support. Now, we can free the Holy Land from the apostates and the heathens. We still need support, though. Please give!"

After some thunderous applause, the troops went onboard their ships. A final check was made, and the Crusaders sailed to war.

SECRET IC:

Afterwards, aboard his flagship, the St. Elias, Batov met with his commanders, Brother Pavel Gibarian and Brother Anton Gibarian. He had a plan.

"Brothers, I have a plan. We will land at Eliat, the port at the Red Sea. Then, we will secure the town, and march inland. We will conscript the remaining Jews and any Muslim we capture. All property and motorcars will be taken for our purposes. If possible, we must enlist the aid of the Jews, they might want a stake in this. After all, Jesus himself was once a Jew."

The Generals nodded, and said, "What happens if we win?"

Batov said, "Then, you two wil be made rulers of the Holy Land. Anton the New Patriarch, Pavel the New Executor Regent. We'll tax the Muslims, and they'll have to obey. The Jews, we'll see."

The Brothers Gibarian nodded, and walked away.

Also, note that these groups are a minority in UX, about 5% are ethnic Russian (mainly in Manchuria), of which 23% are Russian Jewish.

IC:

Meanwhile, the Order, ignoring President Lew's threat, simply continued with its plans.

In particular, the Russian Jewish community in Upper Xen (also based in Harbin, though scattered all over UX in places like Hong Kong and Shanghai) was interested in the Crusade. Since the "apostates" as Batov called the Mississippians were going to invade, why not back up someone that was opposing them? Sure the Orthodox Church was not really friendly to them in the past, but they loved the thought. Jews versus Nazis, fighting for the Soul of Mother Israel.

From: Rabbi Josef Kaminsky

Before long, a Jewish Crusader Fleet left Shanghai in Secret to meet the Orthodox Crusaders.

It consisted of the following:

50,000 men (M16A1's, M-14's, Mini-14's, M21's, and M79's and M72 LAW's and some SMAW's, plus M1911's as sidearms, similar to the Orthodox)
25 Converted Cruise Ships to hold the men and supplies
50 G5 Artillery guns
50 M60 Tanks
25 Q-Ships (modified freighters armed with 40mm Olerikon Cannons and Torpedoes and Stingers, plus Tomahawks for shore support)
2 ex-Russian aircraft carriers with F-35's on them (these left Okhotsk and met the Orthodox in secret)

The Fleets met up off of Okinawa, where they were supplied with food and ammo for the long journey ahead.

Then they steamed off, to their destination.

General Aquilla Serrana is in his command tent near the Saudi-Jordan border. There is a buzz of activity as all current intelligence is being processed and acted upon. Serrana is looking over a series of maps and papers. The numbers that were both supporting and opposing the Crusade was growing consistently. Three of Nova Romana’s divisions were fully deployed and a fourth was going to be ready very soon. The process was still taking too long for the Generals comfort. “This is crazy, by all reports these Crusaders are going even be fighting each other. Well that should make things easier for the MELF. Not sure if we would have the numbers to fight them all. No doubt the Anti-Crusader submarines everyone is deploying are wreaking havoc on the Crusader fleets. This is going to get ugly no matter what happens.”

Nova Romanian forces were in the process of digging in and building defenses in case of a direct attack against them. Barbwire, mines, foxholes, camouflage nets, and various other defenses were being set up to make the Nova Romana position as safe as possible, and costly for the enemy. "Well at least our own preparations are going well. I would like to know if any of these nations these Crusaders are coming from can keep control of their own people? They seem to be pulling weapons, vehicles, and warships out o every possible hole. What type of idiots just let their citizens have all this military hardware? I guess common sense is a lacking thing with fanatics. Well at least it means that they will most likely be poorly organized and supplied. We need to get the MELF organized. We need to get a combined strategy organized. Staff, send the following to all Middle-Eastern Liberation Front members the following message…”

To: Middle-East Liberation Front Members
From: Commander of Nova Romana Forces in the Middle-East, General Aquilla Serrana.

"Agreed. Reduce speed to 5 Knots, dive to a depth of 300 feet, arm torpedo tubes one and two with Type One's."

The crew went to work, amring the torpedo tubes. Almost complete silence would be maintained at this time. They would wait for the Crusaders. The fellow Beta, SSN-13 was informed of the situated and followed suit.

Travelling at 5 knots in a Beta made it nearly impossible to be detected by passive sonar, so Captain Haddad as not worried. The Beta was made to be fast and silent. Meanwhile, as this occurred, passive sonar from the Seadragons picked up a picked up a faint signature.

The captain radioed the St. Elias. "Archbishop, this is Captain Gureyvich. I am picking up enemy subs....."

Batov radioed back. "Fight them! Do what you do best!"

The captain hung up, and then lowered the subs to 400 ft. Arming his torpedoes, he waited for the Betas.

Meanwhile, Batov ordered the Q-Ships to begin ASW operations. The Q-Ships, looking like ordinary frieghters, moved to support the Seadragons, and readied their torpedoes as well.

The whole of the fleet was ordered to slow up, and did so. The ships moved into shallower waters in hopes of limiting the Betas manuverability.

Ooc-

You do realize that I've made it clear in IMs, I don't want the crusaders bothered to any large degree until they get to the Holy Land, sack a few cities, and then there will be some "Hattin" style battles. (Most of the soldiers have little desert experience since they largely served in Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee)

But if you want to get some kicks from sinking a few ships, there are well over 1,000 ships, so a few won't get too sorely missed.

OOC: Just checking in...I take it that you intend to enter an area with a large population that (in modern times, at least) has numerous ASM and regional access denial systems without facing any significant force, to be then able to invade several cities that are traditionally difficult to capture, and THEN you might face resistance? DA, you might have to face the fact that some people might claim those lands and that they might oppose your entrance...not necessarily WA, but someone.

Just for my information, is my post (#70) being ignored...or just not responded to? If so, what is the reason for it to be ignored?

Thanks.

OOC: It was for DA.

IC: Under order of the pope 500,000 of the Borman populace who were joining were going through land. GE and Borman were as close as close could be and so were able to freely use eachothers land and airspace. Becuase of this Borman had a route immediatly bordering Syria. Also another route through Parthians (Iraq). But these men were going by air and train to Turkey where they would prepare to spill over the border into Syria.

Communique to crusader forces in western Saharra:

Our country does have two land routes to the holy land, one direct, and another through an ally who might support this, or at least some of his populace. If we could open up the strait of Gibralter we could ferry all of the crusader forces into Italy. From there they could go by train or air to Turkey and prepare to move into Syria.

Secret IC:

"Sir. You no doubt no of the crusade and the pope supporting it and rallying some of our men to his side."

"Of course."

"Well...this may not be the real pope."

"Serious?"

"Yes. One of our men is muslim and extremly angered by this, so he shadowed the pope. And he found him going to seedy night-clubs, seemingly empty warehouses, and more. I have a report here. And we managed to acquire from satelites and cameras footage of a black sedan going to a cabin in the wilderness and the men carrying in a carpet. Then nearly half the men that entered left with another car that was in the garage."

"Raptors."

OOC: Raptors are the elite of my elite soldiers. Noone is better and these guys are rumors even to men in my government. Only a few allied governments would even have an idea of their existence so they may be used later but only Doom would have an idea of what or who they were.

The men had established a large walled encampment outside of Stahlecker City. Tanks and IFVs sat parked, the crews resting inside of the vehicles to prevent hijack, while the infantry stayed in their tents, cleaning their rifles and sharpening their blades. They prepared for what would be the 4th Crusade into the Holy Land. They would act as an armored cavalry regiment, making initial contact with enemy forces, then either destroying them outright, or awaiting support from friendly units.

The infantry began to get bored, and headed into the city to purchase equipment (although most of them were perfectly satisfied with the weapons they were currently using, as they were the same ones they used when they served in the Legion).

If you could get to Tunisia our crusader ships could pick you up and ferry you to Italy. Once there you could go by air or train to Turkey and assault Syrai from the land. We cna both agree that a land assault from the side would be much easier than a sirect naval assault.

This here RP is rapidly turning into a flood of massive posts, I'm going to have to ask people ease up a bit until the crusader fleet gets to the Middle East. A lot of the posts here are good, a lot seem to people people with 3 posts to their name ranting about sending armies 5 times larger than their nation. This is the price one pays for an open RP eh?

Though overall, I think that most of the folks posting in this thread are good.

You do realize that "Walking" from Algeria would entail eventually going through Egypt anyway... And the amount of supplies that such a force would use up on a "Walk" that would take months, would be massive and the amount of supplies logistics personnel would themselves have to consume en route to resupply forces thousands of miles out in the desert, would be enormous as well. Basically only aerial resupply would be feasible, and it would require a lot of C-130s and similar craft to manage.

I suggest you just land on the coast of Palestine. Most of the crusaders have are going to land near Haifa.

Secret IC:
The eerie glow of the moon reflected off the lake as several man sat at a nearby table. They each had a cigar in one hand and 5 cards in the other.

“Take that bitches, my money.”

“What, stop! I have a royal flush.”

“Didn’t you just get one a couple hands ago? I think you’re cheating!”

All three of the men instantly stopped talking as silenced rounds put their lives to an abrupt stop. A score of Raptors moved quietly over the leafy ground to the table and searched the men for keys. A single one was found in the boot of the man who had gotten a royal flush, along with several 10s, jacks, queens, kings, and aces of hearts.

The team took the key and moved noiselessly towards the dark forbidding cabin that loomed into sight. Lights came out of a second story window and the front door. As they came close rit flung open and a man limped out. He grasped the rail and leaned over and then vomited. Two more came out and hit him on the back.

“Damn man, I didn’t know anyone could drink that much that fast.”

“Except Paulie. The legendary drinker in the Borman army.”

“Well no one is gonna beat him, I mean any normal person.”

Then they made their move. Two men jumped over the short railing onto the deck and next to the men. Their hands quickly found the sides of the men’s heads and snapped their necks. A third ran up to the balcony and snapped the neck of the man leaning over, then slowly lowered his body to the ground.

The fore moved through the door and spread out to search the small first floor. The whole floor was full of smoke and smelled of pot, probably from the multiple sticks still lit and lying next to empty beer bottles. An empty kitchen, tv room, and the bedroom where the pot was the entirety of the first floor. Immediately following their scan they stepped near the wall to avoid the ancient stairs from creaking as they made their way upwards. At the top of the stairs a hallway went left and right with a door at the end of each. The one on the right was opened first, just an empty bathroom; then the sound of talking was heard form the other door. As quietly as possible they nudged the door open and peered through the tiny crack.

There tied in a chair was a man no other than the Pope himself. Next to him a man stood hunched over with his face in that of the Pope’s. At a nearby table three other men sat smoking and playing cards.

“I have yet to lay a hand on you, but you are trying my patience. You will support the damned crusade and you will like it!”

The door flew in and short controlled blasts from multiple guns took out the men at the table as one man drew his saber on the guy right near the Pope. To avoid getting blood on the Pope he pushed the man back and then killed him.

“Sir, We’re part of the Borman empire. We’re here to set you free. Already over 1 and a half million Borman people have joined the crusade and more are joining every day. With your help we can get that number down to no more than 1 million.”

“I hope to get it to o. This crusade is a sham and a foolish idea.”

Outside in a pre-determined clearing two-2 helicopters waited to bring the group to safety. As they came in sights the big birds were turned on as all climbed inside and the helicopters went up into the air and brought the Pope to safety.

IC:
A speech by the real Pope John

"This Crusade is a sham and I ask for all participating to stop. Such needless bloodshed will ensue. Come home to your countries and serve them rather than serve Hades thirst for blood. The sands will be turned red with this, in the name of God stop.”
-------------------------------------

President Robert Nighthorse entered the room where the cabinet members, with the exception of Foreign Minister McGavran and General Truman Mancuso, were waiting.
"Good evening, me fellow countrymen. As you all have heard, soldiers from several nations are approaching upon the Holy Land in what is being called a Crusade. Meanwhile, several nations in the region, under the leadership of Hallad, have created a defense force for the Middle East. Our nation itself as dispatched our finest destroyer, the Natami, to the Red Sea, but only as a precaution."
"Yes, yes, we know that Mr. President. But I'm nervous about having one of my boats just sitting there. And where's General Manco? If anything, we need the Secretary of Defense here."
"Thank you for your input, Admiral Whitrock. Well, General Manco and I have decided upon some action to be taken."
"Without the approval of Congress?"
"It's only a preliminary action. But to follow up, turn to the television behind me for a live satellite feed from General Manco."
The President moved aside to show a picture of the elderly General wearing camouflauge and a helmet and standing in what appeared to be the inside of an airplane.
"Thank you, Mister President. I am here in one of the 8 C-5s that are flying at the moment. We expect to be landing in the Negev within a few hours. From there, we plan to march towards Jerusalem and camp ourselves around the city, even though it might be hard to spread out 2000 troops. But they'll be coming back twice."
The Cabinet members exhibited looks of amazement and disbelief. One of them said, "Wait, are you doing what I think you're doing? It sounds like you took some of our troops, loaded them onto airplanes, and flying towards Palestine. Then, it seems like you are going to surround the city and protect it from the Crusaders with only 6,000 soldiers."
"That's correct. But don't worry, this is only phase 1."

For the first time, the forces could be counted in their entirety over, 750,000 crusaders armed as heavily as a military force and most were trained in the military forces. The Armenian Christians, and even a few Persian Zoroastrians of the town were proving provisions for the crusaders for their march across the desert. “I’m not really liking where all of this is going” said General Aquillia Serrana. Serrana is in his personal command tent. “The Crusaders are showing more cooperation then I originally suspected they would. I almost expected them to kill each other for this territory. They are massing their forces for their attack. There are far too many of these maniacs for my comfort.” Serrana had already by this point requested an additional 5 divisions in addition to the 6 already deployed in Saudi Arabia. Two of the reinforcements had arrived bringing the total number of divisions presently in Saudi Arabia to 8. 50 MiG-2000H Light Fighter Initiative, 50 MiG-35 Multirole Front-Line Fighter, and 50 Su-37 "Terminator" have also arrived to reinforce Hallad’s air force. “This is going to be a tough fight even under the best circumstances. MELF is going to have to fight smart to come out on top in this. That Xen fleet that Hallad took out was only a tip of the iceberg to the Crusaders numbers. So far only Hallad has replied to wanting a war council. I at least expected Maldaathi to also agree to a war council. Maybe he just hasn’t gotten the message yet? We need to get our act together if we are to put together an organized resistance. The progression of the Borman incident might give us an opportunity. As a suggestion to possibly prevent the unnecessary loss of lives, you might want to put direct pressure on the Crusaders from Borman. You might want to try to prevent further reinforcements to the Crusaders. You can try to cut off food, water, arms, money, supplies, and any other resources that would encourage the withdraw of your people from this senseless Crusade. A force as large as their would take a lot of resource to maintain, and any cutoff in supplies can result in the dissolving of that army. There is already going to be more then enough bloodshed without Borman blood being added. Any assistance you can give to stop this Crusade will be greatly appreciated.

The Pope’s nonstop incessant call for peace had angered many people. They just wanted him to shut up. After his latest big speech the crusader recruitment drive became more successful. Only a couple people joined a day and now they number had jumped up. Almost all those who had first heeded the Pope rejoined as various other groups joined. General Fellah Rima was happy with the progress of the Halladi MELF forces. They had finished arriving on the boarder in good time. Unfortunatly, because of the huge ammount of crusaders General Rima had asked for more support. The entirty of the Halladi Airborne Divisions had been ordered to mobilize. This meant the Halladi involvement in the MELF would increase to 300,000.

Fellah was atop the same ridge she had stood on to watch her forces for the past few days. Omar, as always, was close by. A single KA-27B flew within yards of some of the ships. The helicopter had a loudspeaker mounted on it, for missions such as this.

1 Nautical Mile From the Upper Xen Fleet

Warships were now in view of the crusaders. Two Insurgent Class Battlecruisers came close to them. They certainly had the ability to destroy the rest of the crusaders if they wanted to. But, the Halladi Government had other plans. There was no need to kill thousands of defensless people.

A single KA-27B flew within yards of some of the ships. The helicopter had a loudspeaker mounted on it, for missions such as this.

"Attention! This is a message from the Halladi Government. Lay down your arms immediatly. If you do this, you will be granted amnesty, and escourted back to Upper Xen. If you continue on your current course, we have permission to blow your ships out of the water. You have five minutes to give us an answer."

Archbishop Batov grabbed a megaphone and yelled, "We will cease battle against you. I am afraid though, that we will not be welcome in Upper Xen, as our citizenships have been revoked. "Sir we have just entered the maximum field of operations for the MiGs. Also the final dropships have been launched. The first of the transports should arrive in approximately 15 minutes."

The Grand Admiral nodded.

"Order all pilots to the MiGs and make sure the IMATTF and IMAETF are ready to begin operations once the coastline has been securered."

"Yes sir."

The operator turned back to the glowing screen before transmitting a encoded message to the other fleets. The response came back quickly.

"Sir the other fleets are prepared to launch all IMATTF and IMAETF but MiGs are not pre loaded. Therefore our coastline swoop will be delayed and leading to the delayment of troop deployments and meeting our allies. Should we leave the coastline sweep to the Escort Task Force?"

"No. I don't want any casualties this early that could be avoided. We wait the few hours extra, a slight set back is quite alright."

"Yes Grand Admiral."

The operated entered yet another encoded tranmission to the rest of the fleets.

Maldathian Dropship Landers, Classified
The dropships' enigines whined as they moved in to hover around the designated LZ. Maldathian and Maldathian Island troops were already waiting to jump from the hovering ships (its only a meter). The back doors dropped open and the soldiers bustled out into the fresh air. This entire division was to fortify the area and set up a CP that would later be improved when the enigneers and builders landed. Other squads from different dropships disembarked as the began to swoop the area for any Crusader forces. Upon all equipment and troops exiting the dropships they left the vicinity before performing a final swoop of the area.

"For far too long, the infidel jews and masonic societies have been allowed to agitate against our muslim brethren and Christian friends in the Holy Land. But no more! The die is cast, we will be ending their misdeeds once and for all!
Praise be to Allah, the almighty, the compassionate, and the merciful, we will help the crusaders kill the infidel jews in Palestine!"

The utility vehicles moved around like busy ants, carrying out their tasks quickly and efficiently. They were constructing a forward base. An airstrip had been rolled, and a radar station set up. Tents were being put up and men were arriving by truck or APC all the time. General Jaeger jumped from his half-track command car and walked over to the officer in charge. The young officer looked nervous, but walked up to the tall General and shook his hand.
"Welcome to Camp Palm, General. We called it that because other than us, that palm tree is the only sign of life here."
"Well, its as good a name as any. How is the construction coming, Hardy?"
"Very well, Sir. We can launch aircraft from here, or at least we could if we had them....."
The General cut him off.
"Don't worry. Your aircraft will be arriving soon."
The General wiped a bead of sweat from his brow. He had purchased a hooded desert robe from Duba, and wore his body armour over the top. It was more comfortable than his uniform in the harsh desert heat. Many of the men were wearing hats rather than helmets, although that would have to change once they got into combat.

Their conversation was interrupted by three helicopters flying over. They touched down on the makeshift airstrip, rotors clattering. The pilot climbed out of the lead helicopter, taking off his helmet and tucking it under his arm. He was tanned and he could almost have passed for one of the locals. He had a mess of black hair and the stubble on his face showed that he hadn't shaved for a few days. Luxuries like shavers were not carried in helicopters.
He signalled to his gunner and the crews of the other machines, who jumped out onto the sand. They too removed their helmets in the heat.

"Afternoon, officer."

He spoke with a slight British accent and slightly less respect than he should have. Officer Hardy didn't make a point of this, though. The Helicopter Scouts usually had little time for niceties when they had been buzzing around looking for targets. The role of the helicopter scouts was to attack lightly defended enemies and scout for larger forces, then inform the commanders. They were often in the air for up to a week at a time. The specially built helicopters were well armoured and well stocked with supplies, but packed very little punch. A gun and a few rockets.

This particular unit had arrived in Hallad around a day before the ships. They
had been searching the desert for the enemy, and they after restocking they would be back in the air.
"Did you see anything?"
"Not a sausage, skipper."
"Any signs that they had already been through?"
"Well, we checked all the sheep. The Mississippians definitely aren't here yet."
Hardy groaned inwardly. He was already wishing that he had never been assigned to work with this guy. Jamieson's problem was that he just didn't get how to act in front of his superiors.
"I apologise for him, General."
The General chuckled.
"It doesn't matter. I was a soldier too, y'know."
In the background, the helicopters were being restocked and refuelled. They would soon be ready for lift-off. And then it would be back to the hunt. Jaeger just hoped that the prey would emerge

The Su-36 Imperator would fly escourt in these missions. But these would not be untill morning.

The Crusaders were lucky, the Patriot batteries of the Parthian air defence network were active and still sheltering the men moving rapidly into the desert. From batteries in Iraq, Parthian SAMs flew into the air and targetted the long range missiles. The Crusader army also had several Patriot batteries in addition to other SAM batteries, which fired off more missiles at the planes and SAMs heading rapidly to the army. By the end of the volley, most of the missiles were downed, but 29 SAMs made it through the screen and impacted into the crusaders. Over 1,300 crusaders were killed by the fateful barrage, only because they were travelling so far apart. In response, many M110s controlled by crusaders turned their massive 203mm guns towards the Halladi missile sites and then, in a volley of 78 rocket assisted long range shells, fired away.

50 SAMs had been fired towards the oncoming planes, though it paled in comparison to the fleet of private fighter aircraft the crusaders owned. 50 F-22s, 150 F-16s, 30 F-18s, 34 F-14s and 100 F-15s were all accompanying the crusader army. Most of them were flown by ex military fighter pilots and were grouped together in cooperation like a regular fighter wing. The F-14s were the first to fire with their long range Phoenix missiles, each loosing a single one at the Halladi jets while staying as far away from Halladi controlled areas bristling with SAMs.

Now the Halladi government could be fully involved in the conflict. The Crusaders had attacked Hallad aircraft. Even worse, they had attacked aircraft that were flying patrol in Hallad. But the Parthian crusaders had made another huge mistake - attacking an Su-36 Imperator.

There were over 200 Su-36 Imperators in the area. Each with 14 AA-13 Apostle missiles armed on it. And, each aircraft was capable of targeting ten aircraft at once. Several regiments first had to out manuever these missiles. The agile Sukhoi's tried as best they could but 49 aircraft were destroyed, one man managed to eject.

Alpha Regiment, now at half strength, led the charge. They led themselves into range, two regiments flanking the enemy planes. With news of the attak there were even more planes comming to their aid. The Sukhoi's launched their own missiles, ten from each plane, and then turned to escape any reprisal.

Soon a regiment of MiG-28 Flounder fighters came to relieve Alpha Regiment. They made their own attack run, firing off 6 missiles each. The MiGs continued on their present course, with the remaining Su-36s covering them.

* * *

Several missile sites founf themsleves under attack. The artillery shells were sporadic and inaccurate. Luckily, these Parthians did not know the exact location of the sites. 28 men were dead and one missile site was buring, resulting in the loss of 40 SSC-6 missiles, 100 SCUD-A missiles, and 50 SCUD-B missiles.

They huge ship began preperation for launch. In ten minutes the missiles were ready. The captain gave the order. 36 P-190 "Spearhead" AShMs43 and 3M82 "Sunburn" AShMs were launched at various SAM sites.

With a new threat on their boarder, more forces needed to be mobilized. Five division of Marines, 75'000 men, were now reporting for duty. They would fight along side five divisions from the Red Army. The final mobilization of these forces would take a week and a half, but, rushed, there would be two divisions ready a matter of days.

The Armenian pilots attempted vigorously to avoid the oncoming missiles, turning and releasing anything they could to screw up the missiles' locks on their planes. Unfortunatley, 57 Aircraft, 10 F-14s, 7 F-18s, 23 F-16s, and 17 F-15s were destroyed. Now, with the Halladis advancing closer and closer, other aircraft armed with AIRAAMS were now able to fire a massive volley of missiles streaking out from the planes. 150 Guided missiles now were closing fast on the Communist aircraft.

The Crusaders' SAM batteries responded immediatley to the oncoming missiles, they fired whatever they could at the oncoming sunburn missiles as quickly as possible. Many missiles were destroyed by the Patriot SAMs, but two batteries lay in ruins. Now, SSM batteries returned the favor, firing a total of 50 tomahawk missiles at the lone battlecruiser off the coast.

The Halladi Aircraft needed to let go of their missiles before they could do anything. Soon 864 AA-13 missiles were flying toward the Parthian aircraft. Unfortuntly, this left little time for the planes to avoid the enemy missiles. Only the most skilled pilots escaped. Out of the 72 MiG-28s, only 14 survived, 5 ejected. And, out of the 144 Su-36s, there were 83 left. More of the Sukhoi's survived. They are more manueverable than the MiGs, and were further away when they launched their missiles.

SNS Octapod, Atlantic Ocean
They had finally located the fleet. Indeed, it hadn't been all that difficult when they began to move, with the Octapod and two other Skipjack SSNs following the massive convoy. It was an easy job, especially due t the fact that that many engines moving at once played hell eith any sonar readings sent from above the layer. But going back, from where the subs silently stalked- piece of cake.

Wainton looked over the tactical plot one last time before he carried out the audacious plan. With the location and course heading of the fleet already given to COMSUBLANT and Fleet HQ, they were just waiting for a reply. It was the job of the Octapod and her sister ships, the Hemingway and the Johnston, to trail the fleet and report on damages done. It was the job of the other SSNs out there in the cool Atlantic waters to do the actual sinknig of the ships.

SNS Alpha, 4th Wolfpack, Atlantic Ocean
The room was dead silent. Every sailor on board waited at the ready, only red emergency lighting providing an escape from the darkness. The Alpha was the commanding sub of the sizeable wolfpack that was now becoming the moving ambush of the Samtonian navy. The subs laid in wait, ready to fire and flee at their targets. The command still echoed in the ears of those high enough in ranking to read it.

Go for capships and aircraft carriers. Troop ships and supply vessels secondary targets. Fire when Alpha gives signal.

And now, with the Mississippians calmy sailing into the area denoted Targeter-One, it was time to spring the trap. it was hoped that a strike of the nature about to take place would improve the chances the various members of the MELF would have in fighting off the so-called crusaders.

With a slight nod, the captian set the events in motion. The trap was sprung. As the Alpha let loose with all eight of her forward torpedoes at two carriers and began immediately reversing her engines and crash diving, the rest of the wolfpack let loose with their weapons as well, then repeated the same escape maneouvers.

SNS Octapod, Atlantic Ocean
"Mother of God..." breathed the sonarman. "Captain, the trap has just been sprung."

Captain Wainton leaned over at the low station, watching the plot change as the water lit up with torpedoes and frantic active pings of various vessels above. "Impressive," observed the captain, "Impressive indeed."

The plot was by now busily criss-crossed with lines of torpedoes. It was a large amount. There were 24 submarines, in various areas around the fleet. Each had loosed 8 torpedoes, most against capital ships either of the aircraft carrier or battleship variety, but some against supply ships if one of the first targets was not in range or within a feasible attack area.

Wainton nodded. "Those subs have some pretty daring commanders. Hope they dive quick enough." Turning back to the rest of the bridge, he stepped back to his main console. "Helm, slow us to two knots, drop us down near the bottom. I want full silence on board. It might get a tad exciting up there and we are not to reveal ourrselves for any reason."

OOC: Yes, but like everything else involved in the crusade, its controlled by a private corporation (or individual but not in this case).

IC: Most of the Parthian air forces were destroyed by the barrage of missiles. Now, a mere 42 F-22s, 15 F-15s, 17 F-16s, 4 F-14s , and 2 F-18s were left to challenge the Halladi airforce. IT was not bad, considering the pilots were not part of the official military and their aircraft were owned by civillians. There seemed little hope, most of the Armenian Orthodox who owned a plane had it destroyed and with only a few million Orthodox in all of Parthia, help was not going to occur. Then, it seemed to them that the hand of God had moved to save them when their radios blared with the signal, "This is the Zoroastrian Auxillaries for the crusaders, were here to give air support." The mostly Persian Zoroastrian populace of Ctesiphon brought forth their privateley owned fighter aircraft to challenge the Halladis in aid of their Armenian countrymen. With them, a further 50 F-22s and 15 F-16s were now coming in rapidly, each discharging two AIRAAMs at the Halladis as they entered in.

“Yes, I want five of our armored Legions to be diverted to Iraqi border” said an angry General Serrana. The rapid gathering of Crusaders from Borman and Parthian troops in Iraq did not make the general in the least bit of a good mood. The Crusaders numbers seemed to amount to about 2 million. Hallad was probably going to need more men to fight such a large army. The five armored Legions were going to have to be pulled from the Jordanian border to assist Hallad against the Borman’s and Parthian’s who were offering the most immediate threat at the moment. The 5 Legions amounted to about 72,000 men with numerous armored vehicles of various types. MELF was going to have to take this step by step if they hoped to win this. Serrana arrived at General Rima’s HQ for the upcoming war council. Serrana can hear the numberous explosions from the battle that was unfolding. “This is going to get messy.”

Near the Saudi Arabian border. Nova Romanian troop moved about in a fast but organized manner. Infantry got into their BMP-3 Fighting vehicles. Mortar crews got into their BRT-90 APC’s. T-80 and T-90 tanks began to move to their new field of operation with the infantry in fighting vehicles not far behind. Artillery and anti-aircraft vehicles were quick to follow. Necessary supplies were loaded on supply trucks, and drove off after the divisions. Time was of the essence. But the highly mobile Nova Romana Legions were as able as any to fight in mobile operations. Five Armored Legions began their road to the front along the Saudi-Iraqi border to help their ally Hallad.

Accompanied by the Borman Crusaders, the Parthians began to set out from Ctesiphon across the Tigris and Euphrates into the great desert between Iraq and Syria. Above them, privatley owned attack helicopters and planes few towards Syria with weapons under their wings. They rode in cars, in anything capable of carrying them rapidly to Syria. Many of the lucky owned M1 or M60 tanks. The Crusaders were so heavily armed that msot expected to ovverun Syria in a few days and then free the Christians from Muslim opression.

Privately owned Borman aircraft streaked over to assist Parthians in their aviary battle. 75 F22 and 75 F/A25 fighters were put under the control of the Parthian crusaders.

OOC: I am pretty bad at air force so I’m going to do this. Otherwise I can blatantly god-mode and destroy your entire nation with one missile, I mean...not be good.

The battered MiG-28s had turned tail, they needed to repair and rearm. The Su-36s, now out of missiles, attempted evasion tactics once again. With out having to take up time with launching and targetting, only 4 planes were downed.

The battle, luckily for the Halladi's, had moved over the Arabian portion of the boarder. The local Air-Defense Grid was completely active, and SAMs began to ready themselves to launch. In a few moments several hundred SA-X-21, SA-20, SA-19, and SA-17 missile systems had launched a payload of 500 Surface-to-Air missiles.

* * *

The Persian Gulf

The single Isurgent now moved away from its launching area. Radar had detected the 50 tomahawk missiles inbound in time to take out a few. AK-130 and AK-630 guns fired frantically at the missiles. SA-N-12's and the ships other anti-missile defenses were firing as well. Twenty-Two of the missiles were destroyed. About ten hit the Insurgent and the others landed in the water close to the ship. The first missile had slammed into the bridge, the others in various spots. The ship was hit, and sunk, but not before the KA-27B helicopter took off with 16 lucky crewmen - the rest died from the missiles, drowned, or sufficated at the ship slipped beneath the waves.

Ooc-

Samtonia... I thought we already discussed it, the carriers are in standard formation for protection, being surrounded by a destroyer screen and other ships. The most important ships (carriers, supply ships, etc) are in the middle, with the destroyers, frigates, and cruisers on the outside.

How do you slip by all the destroyers so easily? How?
[OOC- First, that was never told, clarified, or made apparent in any form of communication, post, or thought given to me. Ignoring that, we'll assume that they were in standard formation. Now let's go through how I could have done that.

1. Your ships are moving in a straight and easily verifiable line. They have been for a while and they have not made random course changes, jinks, or anything of that nature. You never posted the intent to do so or said that online, so nothing of that nature took place before the subs attacked.

2. The subs sat near the bottom and waited for your fleet to get over it so they could hit the juicy targets. That was shown by the fact it was an ambush and the subs were all at a non-moving state before firing.

3. They were on the bottom where your fleet was going to be due to point #1 and the fact I've got subs shadowing your fleet right now.

4. Sonar would have done nothing. AS you have so many vessels travelling in such a small area (Again, you insist that they are in standard formation, surrounded by a screen) passive won't do a thing because of the huge amount of engine and extraneous noise, especially if subs are under the layer and either:
A. Not moving and bleding in with the ocean floor
B. Slowly trailing your fleet
So you could not have detected the stalking subss or the oncoming ambush without specifically saying your ships were using active sonar. This was not, so they then would use passive sonar. And no, active sonar would npot be a standard way of doing things. It's range for being seen is much less then its range for seeing- bad choice that must be clarified in special cases like these. Which it wasn't.

So there is why my attack made perfect sense, worked, and was a successful ambush. However, the reversing of course by the attacking subs might not have been the best idea on behalf of skippers...]

"General, the Halladi Airforce is attacking the foe, but they require assistance."
"If they fall, the sky will belong to the enemy. We cannot allow that. Launch fifty Quetzals. Oh, and I believe it may be time to test those Dragonflys."

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The TAe FA-2 Dragonfly was a beautiful piece of aeronautic engineering. A spear of titanium, flung from the sky like a thunderbolt from on high. A blur of white metal, the killing power all too apparent in its image. And fifteen of them were launching. The rocket boosters ignited, shooting orange sparks across the desert sand.
"Like burning Mississippians." thought Wing Leader Marcos, then he was flung back in the seat as the ramjets kicked in, causing the warplane to shoot forwards as if it had been launched from a cannon. Marcos felt some of the g-forces despite his state-of-the-art g-suit. He had flown these for his specialist training, but never above around Mach 2. And now this machine was pulling 2.5 and counting. The acceleration showed no signs of slowing down. Eventually it had to, but Marcos was so intoxicated by the roar from the engines and the speed that he didn't want it to stop. The feeling of sheer exhilaration that one got from flying these.....
And then, in the distance, was the target. Flying at around treetop height, he hoped to be under the SAM coverage. They would swoop over, bomb everything to scrap metal, and be off back to base before the Parthians even saw them. The targetter bleeped as it prepared to autolaunch every air-to-ground munition onboard. And then the missiles streaked away.....

Further up in the air were the Quetzals. The workhorse of the Taldaani Fighter Corps. The agile combatants. Captured enemy pilots from other wars had said that fighting Quetzals was like fighting smoke. Capable of accelerating straight upwards, these were fun to fly in and deadly to fly against. They kept a lookout for the Halladi planes and the enemy fighters. And there, on the horizon. Targetters locked on to the enemy planes while ignoring the Halladi fighters, and fired. Each of the fifty Quetzals fired every last one of their air-to-air missiles, then swooped in after them.....

Oh, so unless you specifically state your soldiers have their eyes open, I can expect them to walk into walls?

Sonar is the eyes and ears of ships at sea, they don't go along blind. You don't know our "Standard" way of doing things. Example, for us standard security an airport means a company of rifleman and a dozen plus SAM batteries. What is standard for one isn't standard for others.

And I do believe I told you over AIM the ship formation situation, I can't recall for sure though.

But if I have to specifically state, "My ships aren't running around like blind idiots", let me put it to you this way, we're not the Somalian navy (Do they even have one?) We're the Mississippian navy.

[OOC- Sonar may very well be the eyes and ears- passive sonar. Not active sonar. Never active sonar. It gives away every ship and their position to anything within a a few hundred km, which is a lot farther then the active's going to be able to see. Go check any naval website for basic ops- passive is used, not active. It would be the action of the most idiotic navy on earth to normally use active sonar.

So unless you specify "active is being used" or you can show me something that says that any naval operation using Mississippian ships normally uses active sonar, then your argument just doesn't hold any weight whatsoever.

But if you're using active sonar, fine. I'll just use the perfect sonar reading you gave my subs to launch from well beyond normal targetting limits for the subs (which is outside your limits to reply to the attack I might add) and nail your ships perfectly. Suck it up and take the losses. At least this way you'll have a chance to hit the subs back. But if you want to do it the other way- be my guest. I like less casualties on my side.

EDIT- Told me over AIM? Nope. Nowhere close. I've got the logs saved, if you want to check them. But you said nothing.

AS for your final comment, no you don't. But if you put your ships in a tight guarding formation with the amount of ships you have, then don't make any adjustments at all IC for the problems you face as a result of said actions, well, you've brought that upon yourelf. There is no perfect naval formation, though you seem to think yours is. It isn't. So if you want avctive on, fine. I'll just keep launching torps from outside your range.]

The combined barrage of Halladi and Romanan missiles overwhelmed the Persian and Borman forces. Over 100 aircraft had been destroyed and crashed down into the desert below.

Payback came soon, Parthian and Borman aircraft moved in on the advancing Romanan planes with AIRAAMs prepared for launch. Within three seconds, a deadly volley of 300 missiles was fired before the Persian and Borman fighters began to wheel around and turn back to force the Romanans to pursue deep into Parthia in order to fire. Meanwhile, 35 JSFs which survived the attack each unleashed a pair of HARM missiles at the radar sites of the SAM batteries before decending low to the ground and turning around to help protect from SAM attack.

Defying orders from Governor-General John Tallmadge that no Mississippian Egyptians were to take part in the Crusade, over 500,000 paramilitaries arranged in 20 mechanized infantry divisions of about 24,000 each, (each division has about 500 BMP-2s and 100 T-90s, and there is one artillery brigade per two divisions) crossed from Mississippian Egypt into Eastern Egypt, intent on pushing to cross into the Sinai and then move north into Palestine, to approach from the south while the naval forces of Crusaders from Mississippi land in the north at Haifa.

It was going to be a great crusade for God, they had no intention of taking any land in Eastern Egypt, except for narrow strips along the highway to move supplies forward and send wounded back.

John Tallmadge, the governor-general, protested their movements and immediately ordered them to halt and cease all operations, but not being bound by any military oaths, they just advanced onwards.

The massive columns of troops simply poured across the borders of Eastern Egypt and Mississippian Egypt, demanding to be allowed to cross, any border guards that resisted were promptly shot or simply run over by tanks.

The force then pressed onwards, wondering what the Eastern Egyptian reaction would be...

Ooc- I'm not sure who owns Eastern Egypt. Since Ottoman Khaif had always claimed it, but then told me to just consider our two nations in separate universes. So since I'm not clear who really is RPing as Eastern Egypt, that is why I figured it would be okay for the forces to just smash across the border, since there seems to be no real organized government there... If somebody does indeed own it, and has strong border forces, I'll edit that first post. (that is the first post of what will be a series of crossing through Eastern Egypt and then ideally a Suez crossing) Sorry for the short post, I am working on several things right now, one being a long update for the 1866 Winston Fabus RP. The Parthian and Borman missiles streaked towards Nova Romana’s planes. The Su-37’s were devastated by the barrage with only 7 pilot managing to eject, and all the planes being overwhelmed by the volume of missiles.

***

Even with the tragic loss of planes and pilots, air superiority could not be handed over to the Crusaders. 75 MiG-2000’s were being prepared to continue the air fight as is necessary.

***

It had been decided by General Aquilla Serrana that all of Nova Romana’s Legions should be focused along the Saudi-Jordanian border. The sudden raising of a Crusading army in Egypt had greatly changed the situation. It was probably going to take all 7 armored and 4 infantry Legions. There was about 160,000 men total in all.

OOC: There is about 14,500 men in each Legion. Armored Legions have 200 T-80’s, 100 T-90’s, 320 mortars, 240 BMT-3, 80 BRT-90 APC, 100 2S6M Tunguska Anti-Aircraft Artillery, 80 2S19 MSTA-S 152-mm Self-Propelled Howitzer, 160 2A65 152-mm Towed Gun-Howitzer, and 80 M270 MLRS Self-Propelled Loader/Launcher.

Infantry Legions have 402 mortars, 512 BMP-2, 60 T-80, 80 2S19 MSTA-S 152-mm Self-Propelled Howitzer, 160 2A65 152-mm Towed Gun-Howitzer, 80 M270 MLRS Self-Propelled Loader/Launcher.

The MiGs entails in the sky danced beautifully in the wind as the aircraft drew closer towards the dogfight ahead. All pilots war veterans they made sure they were in proper formation before engaging. The pilots of the first wing turned to look out their cockpits and nodded to each other.

"Archimedes Squadron engaged."

"Bravo Squadron engaged."

"Cadfer Squadron engaged."

This went on through the different squadrans and they broke to reform.

"3 kilometeres to bogies."

"Roger Arch leader."

Within minutes everyone began to open fire with 30mm HFPPR-1 (Heavy Fighter Plane Pules Rifles) and Gatling Guns. After being shot at by the enemy planes that had little to no ammo remaining the Maldathian MiGs began to retreat when they quickly and skillfully turned back to the fighting planes before salvoing their entire payload. (14 missles each and 75 MiG 2000 LFI and 75 MiG Flounders = 2100 missles.) Have fun. The MiGs then turned to retreat.

25 MiGs where hosed down upon retreating to the air carriers.

"Alert, we have incoming missiles, activate close in air defense" The loud speakers blared again and again. Within seconds, massive streams of ammunitions poured from gattling guns towards the oncoming missiles. The devestating accuracy shredded most, but two SAM sites exploded in flame because of light anti missile defenses. The remainder searched in vain for the attacker, then, turned attentions to the quetzals. A barrage of 30 Patriot missiles flew up towards the fighters as the aircraft moved in to fire theirs. As 15 F-15s and 5 F-16sexploded in flame, the remainder fired off AIRAAMs and then, as both moved in closer and closer fired sidewinders. Within a 30 seconds, 500 AAMs had been launched at the oncoming planes.

"Oh, crap......"
This was the last thing Pilot Tomas ever said, as his Quetzal was struck from below by a Patriot missile. The other pilots, noticing their grave danger, scattered, activating anti-missile systems. The Patriots killed around ten more of the squadron, and the remainder came around for another pass. They had wrecked quite a few of the enemy jets, but they were probably still outnumbered. Then, on their radars, they saw a sight that will scare any airman. A massive flight of missiles, headed straight for them. The pilots scattered again, but the chaff they dropped seemed to have no effect on the projectiles. There were explosions and bursts of flame as missiles impacted on aircraft. Due to the sheer chaos, five of the Quetzals escaped death.

"We can't do anything like this. Launch all armament and return to base."
The remains of the squadron snapped around and began the flight back to base. Hopefully, they could lure their opponents into range of the anti-air defences.
The Parthians
14-01-2005, 23:57
Many of the pilots broke off rather than move into SAM bristling Halladi territories, but fifteen pilots in F-16s continued forward. They had decided that it was time for a sacrifice, and if they could not destroy the planes in flight, they would lay waste to something else, by crashing their own explosive stuffed aircraft into a building. As they moved in closer and closer they waited until they got into range by activating afterburners and speeding forward into AIRAAM range before unleashing 15 missiles at the remaining enemy aircraft.
