The Federated Union of Democratic Colonies has authorized the Colonial Arms Corporation, in conjunction with the SIG Arms Company of Switzerland, to export the SIG P221 Pistol. The standard sidearm of Colonial military personel, as well as federal law enforcement and security personel in the Democratic Colonies, the P221 is a 13 round 10mm semi-automatic pistol with an integrated laser sight. Considered to be highly accurate and reliable, the 10mm rounds the P221 is chambered for provide greater stopping power than the 40. S&W rounds while also resulting in less recoil than the 45. ACP rounds often used in similar pistols. Designed over a 3 year period by a joint Colonial Arms / SIG design team to combine the best features of today's modern sidearms, with a high one-shot-one-stop ratio without the excessive recoil of 45. caliber or above pistols, the 10mm P221 would serve any military, police, or security force well in today's modern field of operations.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v207/JC_Denton/NationStates/6c5fc4b3.jpg

Standard Caliber: 10mm
Length, overall: 208mm
Barrel length: 135mm
Weight unloaded : 780g
Capacity: 13 Rounds (10mm Rounds)
Integrated Laser Sight

The Colonial Arms/SIG P221 is being offered at $720 per pistol. The P221 LE, a modified P221 with the integrated laser sight removed, is available for $670 per pistol. Production rights for both versions of the P221 are available for a sum of 1.5 billion dollars. The Colonial Government reserves the right to veto any sales as it deems fit.

At this time, Nutropinian Arms, operating out of The Sovereign Armed Dictatorship of Nutropinia, has available various extended magazines and a modification for the P221. The modification changes the firing mechanism to enable fire in both fully automatic and semi-auto modes. Nutropinian Arms should be contacted for further details. Nutropinian Arms is currently the only authorized multinational manufacturer of modifications and extended magazines for the SIG/Colonial Arms co-production P221 10mm Pistol.

We would be able to supply you this pistol in the modified Selectable-Fire mode. The Weapon will weigh slightly more unloaded at 900 grams because of the modification. However the pistol will fire in semi-auto and auto mode. Because of this we have provided both the normal size magazine and the larger 21 round magazine. The weapon can be sold either with or without laser sight on it. The 10mm is smaller than the .45 ACP but with greater stopping power and lighter weight. If you do not want the modified version and only the Semi-Auto Version we cannot sell this to you. You will have to contact Colonial Arms (Democratic Colonies) personally.

standard handgun Yarygin PYa / MP-443 "Grach" pistol

http://world.guns.ru/handguns/pya-l.jpg

Type: Double Action
Caliber: 9x19 mm 7N21 (9mm Luger/Para)
Weight unloaded: 950 g (with empty magazine)
Length: 198 mm
Barrel length: 112 mm
Capacity: 17 rounds

The PYa (Pistolet Yarygina - Yarygin pistol) was developed for the Russian Army trials, codenamed "Grach" (rook). These trials were started by issuing initial requirements for a new military pistol in 1993. Than new pistol should had have a DA trigger, large capacity magazine, all steel construction and be able to be converted into 9x18 PM and PMM, 9x19mm Luger, and 7.62x25mm TT chamberings. Later on, the multicaliber option was dropped from military requirements, and in the late 1990s Russian army settled on the improved version of the worlds' most popular 9mm Luger/Parabellum round, very hot loaded (peak pressure generated by 7N21 is well beyond 9mm +P standards) and fitted with armour piercing bullet with hardened steel core. Several designs were submitted to the trials, but eventual winner was the pistol, designed at the state Izhevsk Mechanical Plant by the Vladimir Yarygin. This pistol, initially known as the 6P35 (military index during trials) or as MP-443 "Grach" (manufacturer's designation), now is officially adopted by the Russian Government for Military and Law Enforcement use under the PYa designation, and already issued to some Russian Army units, most probably located in Chechnya.

In those ages of lightweight alloys and plastics, and complicated trigger systems, the all steel DA pistol may look little outdated and conservative, but, in my opinion, there's nothing wrong with the conservative approach, especially if it the result is well balanced and fits the intended niche well, which PYa does. I had the chance to examine the production pistol, as well as to see it in action (during Russian Law Enforcement IPSC competition, held in September, 2003, near the St.Petersburg). For me, PYa appeared as a well balanced, sturdy pistol with adequate accuracy and decent firepower. The only things that could be improved, in my opinion, are the fixed sights, and the shape of the polymer grip panels, that felt too angular in my palm.

The PYa is a short recoil operated, locked breech pistol. It uses a modified Browning "High Power"-style locking, with the cammed slot under the barrel, that is used to lock and unlock the single lug on the barrel with the ejection window in the slide. The slide and frame are made from carbon steel, the barrel is made from stainless steel. The conventional DA trigger features an ambidextrous manual safety on the frame, that could lock the hammer either in lowered or in cocked position, allowing for "cocked and locked" mode carry. There's no decocker, and additional automated safety is built into the system, that locks the firing pin when trigger is not pressed. The external hammer on production pistols is partially enclosed from the sides by the slide extensions, to facilitate snag-proof handling. Front sight is machined with the slide, rear sight is dovetailed into the same. Both sights featured white non-luminous inserts (tritium-filled "night" sights available as option). Wrap-around grip panels are made from polymer, and the grip is provided with the lanyard ring. Button-operated magazine release is located at the base of the triggerguard, and can be mounted on either side of the frame, depending on the user preferences (easily re-installed by the user itself in a minute). Dual stack magazines are made from steel and hold 17 rounds of 9x19mm ammunition, plus one in chamber. There's also some information that a 18-rounds magazine will be introduced for PYa in 2004.

Personal notes from Pushka's police department operatives: This thing is really easy to use, can deliver a good punch and is not at all heavy.

Pushkan Military Spendings Department: That pistol is very cheap, and never jams, we didn't have one pistol be replaced in 15 years of service.

IC: Yes a batch of ten is being sent over to Cotland for testing as we speak. Five have the integral laser sight, five have it removed. We are also sending a set of each magazine for each gun. One normal 13 round magazine, an extended 21 round magazine, a dual 13 round magazine which is two magazines contacted facing opposite ways facilitating quick changes, and 42 round curved magazine for extra ammo on full auto.

Caliber: 9mm
Clip: 9
Weight: 1kg
Muzzle: 320 Meters per second
Operating principle: Internal blowback
Notes: There is no external slide action on this weapon, the entire chambering process is internal. This weapon is very easy to use and is low maintainence. The only issue has been jaming due dirt being lodged in the bolt, however proper care will cure that issue
Cost: $350 (bulk only) $427 single

Notes: This weapon is destined to become Jesusvainia's standard service side-arm. It is the perfection of our previous PG2 pistol which had several problems with the gas chamber. The P-1g has been proven to be easier to keep level while firing than its slide-action based competors. It has been fitted with a floresent strip on the front sight to make it easier to use in the dark.

Oh I know it is perfectly feasible, H&K did it on the G11. And I know each nation can produce it but it is expensive to produce with the design work needed to go into it, plus for the military, at least at this point, it destroys any opportunity for battle field pick ups.

New police standard issue weapon selected

After many shows of interest, and long and careful testing by both police officers, military personnel and weapons experts, the Cottish Ministry of Justice and Police has chosen the new weapon to be issued to all police officers in Cotland, effectively phasing out the old .38 revolvers used today. The new weapon is the Pushkan MP-443 “Grach”. It was a very close call, the other weapons that made it to the final selection was the USP Compact from the Cottonmouth and the Mk 47 Medusa from the Phoenix Militia.

The “Grach” was selected for several different reasons. One important issue was the price, which was the cheapest in the competition. It was also surprisingly accurate, easy to use and easy to maintain. It also preformed extremely well in the winter cold in Cotland, as well as the scorching desert in Egypt (a Cottish colony). It also utilizes the 9x19mm round, which can be easily produced by Cotland Arms Inc.

We will therefore place an order of 10 000 000 weapons to Cotland. The total price of 1,5 billion dollars will be paid 50% now and 50% on final delivery.

For our SWAT teams, we wish to utilize another weapon, and therefore, we wish to place an order of 50 000 USP Compacts from the Cottonmouth. The total price tag of 15 million will be wired 66% now and the remaining 34% on final delivery. Regarding the MP-5s you talked about. If you could please send me a telegram regarding the weapons, I’ll get back to you.

As for the rest of you who participated, we thank you for your participation, and your weapons (not the ones that told me to keep them) will be returned to you via airmail. They should be arriving within a few days. Thank you for the use.

Once again, thank you for your participation.

Sincerely,

Only SWAT style teams.A SWAT team will take longer than regular police to arrive. A criminal would be long gone before one arrives. (Unless they're very common in your nation...)

We dont need policemen to have guns to ensure order. If someone holds up a bank with a gun it does one of two things:

1) It turns into a seige. There is time for SWAT teams to move in.

2) They escape. This then turns into a man-hunt which can be conducted with the aid of SWAT teams.

The UK does not harm her policemen, and the UK has a MUCH lower proportional incidence of gun crime than the US, which does arm her policemen.
