Princess of Kaymiril Visits Pschycotic Pschycos

A small crecent shaped glider speeds over the sea, heading from its homeland of Kaymiril toward Pschycotic Pschycos. There is only standing room for one passenger...then again, utilizing the magical aspect of the glider, it was a short trip.

"I can't believe mother finally let that war incident go...then again...they do have a new shogun."

As she entered PP space, the woman reached up to touch the comm piece at her ear.

This is Crown Princess Annastrianna of Kaymiril, requesting permission
to enter Pschycotic Pschycos air space, over.

As her glider sped ever closer toward the fringes of PP airspace, the Princess hoped that her semi impromptu visit would not cause problems...after all...that wasn't the point of this visit.

Honimishu Castle...

RING!! RING!!! RING!!!

"Huh?..What the...OH CRAP!! What time is it?"

Shogun Himura Kenshin reached across the couch and picked up the phone. "What is so important that you woke my mid-afternoon-early-late- afternoon nap?"

The voice on the other end responded, "Sir, an aircraft claiming to be carrying the Crown Princess of Kaymiril is approaching our airspace, I believe it to be..." he was cut off..

"DOES ANYONE AROUND HERE BOTHER TO READ MY MEMOS ANYMORE??!! IF YOU HAD YOU WOULD KNOW THAT SHE WAS COMING!! Send up a couple of Astrays to meet her, and to escort her to the capitol's airstrip. NOW!!"

"Y-y-yes, Sir!"

Shogun Himura slammed down the receiver. "Damnit, what do I have to do around here...oh crap," he said looking around his office. His mini put-put golf set was lying out, and golf balls were everywhere. "Oh, well. This won't take long." he went about cleaning it up and stuffing it into a closet, hoping like hell it wouldn't burst.

Coastal Defense Air Station 05...

"Robertson, Zimmermann! You got a mission. There's an incoming glider, and you two are to escort it in. It's royalty, so don't screw up...again." shouted Lieutenent La Flaga.

"Yes, Sir!" they chanted.

In 5 minutes, their Astrays were in the air, streaking out to meet the glider. Pulling up alongside it, they radioed over,

Follow us into the capitol. Do not deviate from our set course, or we
cannot garuntee your saftey.

With that, they made a small course adjustment and headed for the capitol.

I copy, Astrays. No need to make threats...I come unarmed.

Adjusting her altitude and course to match the mobile suits, Crown Princess Annastrianna entered PP airspace, on her way to the capitol.

When they reached the landing pad, the Princess let her glider down gently. It was a flat metal crescent, with no visible controls. When it touched the ground, she stepped lightly off, then snapped twice at the disk.

"Phor.((up))" At her command, the disk rose and began to change shape, twisting, turning and folding itself into the shape of a raven, which then perched on her shoulder.

((Okay, just to take a moment here and describe our dear Annastrianna...who will be called Anna from this point on, b/c that's easier. She's wearing a simple black flightsuit, emblazoned with the Kaymiril Royal Crest in red. She looks about twenty-ish.))

Uh.. sorry.

The flight approached the strip near Honimishu Hill, and decended.

Matching velocity deceleration of Kay zero-one. Over

Copy. Over.

The two mobile suits and the glider came off the runway into the hanger. dead ahead was the ZGMF-10A STRIKE and the GAT-X105 STRIKE, the most advance suits in the nation. Between their feet was the Shogun.
"I'm glad to see that you had a pleasant trip. Please, don't mind the mess, we're working on a new project."

Indeed, a lot of dust and noise was coming from behind a large curtain, several stories high. A large crash and several obscene words suddenly came from behind it. The Shogun made no indication that he had heared anything.

"My limo shall transport us to the castle," he said, a large limo screaching to a halt behind him. "Oh, and do make sure to fasten your seatbelt. Jeeves just got his listence renewed. And don't read the newspaper pinned to the wall in there, unless you like worrying about why he lost his lisence in the first place. After you."

The limo screached up the winding hill road into the capitol complex. A short walk landed them in Kenshin's office.

"Would you care for some tea or coffee..." he began, but was interupted by a large crash as the closet door behind him burst open. He blinked a few times. "Or some other refreshment?" he finished, giving no attention to the mini-golf set that had graced the room with its precence, or the dozen multi-colored golf balls now bouncing about, wrecking the various electronic devices on his desk.

"I'm glad to see that you had a pleasant trip. Please, don't mind the mess, we're working on a new project."

"Vedui' lu' bwael afya, Shogun Himura. I thank you for your greeting." ((Vedui' lu' bwael afya = greetings and long life...Formal Kaymirilian greeting))

Anna diplomatically ignores the goings-on at the hanger, and enjoys the trip to the castle. PP was a nice nation...even if it was going by rather faster than an automobile should travel. ((I think this is probably her first time in a limo...they travel differently in Kaymiril))

"Would you care for some tea or coffee..." he began, but was interupted by a large crash as the closet door behind him burst open. He blinked a few times. "Tea would be lovely, thank you. It appears that your nation has been very industrious in the past sixty-odd years."

While Anna took no notice of the miniature golf set, the metallic raven on her shoulder did. It hopped down and picked up a golf ball in its beak, then started pecking at it.

"Ulu uns'aa, nin." ((to me, now)) The glider grudgingly returned to its owner's shoulder. "My apologies, Shogun Himura...these things are tempermental at times."

((OOC: That was very amusing. Oh...and the glider was a simple metal thing...which she's now carrying on her shoulder...it's a nifty little device, lol. I called it glider for simplicity's sake...it's more of a metal disk that she manipulates to get her places.))

"Oh nonsense, that's fine." he responded. he walked over, picked up the golf ball and handed it to the glider. "It can have it if it's so lively. Ah, yes. So, what do I owe this honor to?" he said, offering a seat and openning the shades of the window. The window gave a panoramic view off toward the Inland Sea. In the distance, just visable on the horizon, were the Shinotara Mountains. The city below was busy, as could be expected with the post-holiday sales.

"It's not often we get visitors of your calibur here."

The glider goes off, playing with the golf ball...it's really quite amusing. The raven-form flutters around, dropping then catching the golf ball. Anna laughs at it, taking the offered seat and getting an impudent caw from her glider.

"I've been curious about this nation for a long time, by your standards. And my mother's time before she conceeds the throne is short...a decade or so, at most. I want to know a little bit of the world...and it was your predecessor who burst through our region's isolationist policy...so why not come here?"

High above the palace of the Shogun a cruiser draws ever closer. carrying on it an ambassador from the government of helgahn,

"So where exactly is the nation of Pschycotic Pschycos Captain." asked the ambassador.

"Were not sure Mr. Ambassador." replied Captain Dalton a man who was well respected by the Grand General and pondered why he had ordered him to escort this politician to some solar system looking for a planet they knew nothing about. "all we know about the nation is that it was involved in some kind of war between another with some weird technology. as you know."

"yes i know well should we send out the message now?" He asked

"Its as good a place as any." the captain answered. "Reverse engines, all ahead stop. ready all torpedo tubes with LRBM's, prep SRAA's. ready all aircraft, and have parasite soldiers ready to man their parasite craft. Radar get me information on the government fleet and get me two firing solutions!"

"Aye Aye sir!" answered everyone on the bridge as they all began their work, everyone was talking through earpeices and with each other.

"What are we going to war Captain?" the Ambassador asked puzzled by the amount of movement now going on.

"no Mr. Ambassador but id rather be prepared we no nothing of our enemy, including if they are freindly, for all we know he may have engines capable of getting his ship here in seconds i plan on blowing out a couple if it comes to that."

"Con, Radar. we cant pick up any enemy ships in the area something is messing with our sensors big time sir." the radar anounced

"see if you cant find out whats the problem. Com. send out the message no scrambling."

"Aye Aye sir!" they both answered

"sir message is out" announced the Communications officer.

"Now what do we do?" asked the Ambassador

"Now we wait." replies Captain Dalton. "we wait and pray to god were more advanced, or theyre freindly."

To: The Shogun of Pschycotic Pschycos, Shogun Himura Kenshin.

From: General Turner, Supreme General of the Helghast Armies.

Ahhh good you got my message please dont mind the cruiser that sent it to you, if i know the captain well. which i do. hes probably got missiles ready to fire. but i assure you with no provacation he will not.

we dont know much about your government except for what our intelligence division has been able to come up with, we know you use a peculiar technology called mobile suits, were interested in them. Helghast forces are primarily ground units we orbital bombard, use fighters for strafing runs, and bombing runs but thats about it. our fighters arent the best in the universe so were looking to expand on them. which is where your nation comes in to view. your technology would be useful. we would not only have an effective jet fighter, but also a tank.

so we would wish to make not really an alliance more of a deal we would like to be provided with the information technology create our own mobile suits. and in return we could give you an effective ground fighting force, our soldiers are the best trained and equiped for a variety of missions involving ground combat, perhaps you have a space station you need to attack but can not risk destroying the station, our parasite craft are effective for that situation. we have a number of other strong points as well but i would like to know what you think of this first. please relay your message to me

Signed
General Mitchell L. Turner

*Closes her eyes briefly, then opens them* I sense a threat. A threat from the stars...Glider!

*She holds out her arm. Startled, the glider drops its golf ball and perches on the Princess' arm*

Vel'bol xun dos kyorl? ((what do you see?))

*The glider pulls back, warping and changing, becoming its original shape, then thinning, to become a screen. It watches the events on the cruiser, showing them for its master and the Shogun*

Glider, intel...how big a nation are we talking about?

working...total present population = 163 million

Teeny tiny...still that star cruiser bothers me...Glider, star charts. Sol-centered, Rigel "north"...where is this thing?

*The glider complies with Annastrianna's request*

Ah...that's not a good place to be making threats from...those asteroids are extremely responsive. *she turns to the Shogun* Wait...can your alchemists control asteriods, like our Silver class mages, or are they more terran based? ((terran = earth))

"No word yet Captain?" the ambassador asked.

"None, we have been able to spot life forms on other planets but im afraid we cant tell the manpower of their millitary or technology their tracking stations could have noticed us and had their fleets move out of our sight. i dont like this. the message was sent out, if these people were freindly they would not have moved their forces out of sight. instead they would have kept a few out in the open to hail us." He explained

"so what do you think we should do then." the ambassador asked

"send out a com drone back to General Turner, lets give him a report on whats going on." Captain Dalton said to the Com. officer

"Aye Aye sir." he answered. he hit a few buttons on his key board, then a female voice came over the intercoms in the bridge. "Com. Drone launched."

"power up the engines lets get the cruiser to a place out of this asteroid field, Navigation plot a course to this moon here." the captain touched a moon orbiting a blue planet possibly ice.

"were moving? why these asteroids gives us cover from their sensors." the Ambassador asked

god will this man ever shut up with his questions "because ambassador, their government has obviously spotted us due to their lack of answer which means these rocks are useless. out in the open this ship can do far more damage in case of attack. besides that if they fire off any rockets at us it will hit an asteroid and turn it into flack." the captain replied with agitation in his voice

outside the ship engines underneath the body of the ship started to glow a blue color as the engines pushed the cruiser up above the asteroid field. then was stabalized as soon it had cleared the final asteroid by the engines above it. then the powerful engines in the rear beagn to glow as it pushed the ship faster and faster to the waiting blue planet

un-known by the ambassador the captain in his movement from the asteroid field a dropship, carrying a ten man special forces squad had been left behind to wait for two hours then to proceed to the most likely planets to have life on them, the first planet was blue, brown, and green. it had been decided before it was launched that this plaent was the most likely to have on it the capitol city, the planet was designated Zeus,

their mission is to proceed to the planet in stealth and conduct a silent operation in mapping out the terrain and gain information on the location of the government bases and cities. and if the peace mission of the cruiser was a failure they would be issued and order to conduct phase 2 of the operation, they would make an assault on a small base with the mobile suites on it and attempt to capture one, they would then hide with the suite and wait for a scout ship to arrive, one man would fly the suite to the ship and proceed with it home.

OOC: the special forces team is the best trained in helgahn with a variety of different skills a few of them being sabatoge, assasanation, hand to hand combat, perfect marksmanship etc. the drop ship they are on is outfitted with a camoflauge device, like bonds car, and has an external cooling and heating system to bypass heat sensors. it is fast and maneuverable, it has a pair of Miniguns on the wing tips, with two heat seeking rockets as well.

Anna reaches out a hand to her glider, which draws forward accordingly.

"Ori'gato's jivvin natha lotha nibele xuil mina, zhal udos? ((Let's play a little game with them, shall we?))"

"Glider, focus in, chart of ship and asteroid system."

It does so, flashing across the screen what are you doing?

"Having a laugh..."*she touches several of the emblems that marked asteroids, and her sea-blue eyes grow cold a moment as she works her magic...the magic of the Kaymiril line* "Flohlu mina ((follow them))"

~~~~Out in Space~~~~
As the Helghast cruiser attempts to leave the asteroid field, the larger asteriods move as well...some of thm drawing smaller asteriods in their wake.
~~~~Meanwhile, back at Honimishu Castle~~~~

Glider, anything else we should know about?

more specifications required :P

Do the words 'scrap metal' mean anything to you?

10-man infiltration unit soon on its way. If demands not met, their
orders are to attack PP hangar and take a mobile suit by force, then hide
with it until they are picked up.

And they think they can hide with something that big? Speaking of which...do they even know how to work that thing? I doubt that ten men could lift and carry one of those.

I never said they were intelligent.

((OOC: This is what you get when you interrupt Annastrianna's social visits. Tick her off further, and she's likely to use those lovely asteroids to pound your ship into pulp...and don't think she doesn't know about your incoming assassin squad. The Glider she has is one of four built by the late Prince Enais...it works on magic...your soldiers cannot hide. Heat, cold, wind, rain, sleet or snow, it can still find you. "ummm captain i think you should have a look at this." the Radar operator announced.

the captain puzzled always trusted the word of his men, he opened the Radar screen and saw that very large objects were following them. "ships?" he asked

"umm no sir they appear to be the asteroids we left. theyre following us sir." he explained

"how can that be?" the captain wondered for a moment. "Magnetic feilds. check for magnetic fields around the asteroids find out what their made of." the captain ordered

"sir the magnetic levels around the asteroids are high enough to follow us, and the minerals they have a high concentraion of a metalic substance on them, we cant identify what it is but it is conductable." the operator anounced.

the captain smiles, thats all it was well i dont want to blast them away just yet. "full power to the engines now more waiting clear the debris feild and blow them away with the ballistic missiles already armed."

"Aye Aye sir" the weapons officer and helmsman replied at the same time.

OUTSIDE:

their was a loud burst from the engines as they fired to their potential completly clearing the debris field then stopped and reveresed engine to slow it down, while tubes were opening on the outer shell of the ship which launched 2 dozen ballistic missiles at the asteroids, each one hit its targt head on completly destroying them into fragments scattering them over space in the opposite direction. any asteroids not destoyed in the initial blast that were following were mopped up by the shockwave of the missiles.

INSIDE:

"arm minigins and flak cannons any rocks that get too close again blow them the hell away. order the special forces team to leave the system in the safest route, those rocks werent magnetized when we left them." the captain ordered

"sir? you think they were some how responsible for that?" asked the bridge techy.

"I dont know but in my years of commanding ive never had to blow away asteroids beacsue they were following me." he explained

(OOC: thats what happens when something threatening comes across my ship and pisses my captain off, the helgahst are short tempered and excelent strategists. and they werent assasins, they were saboteres)

((OOC: not magnet, magic))

Persistent insects...insects...precisely.

Spacedust of the Arios, take your vengeance

~~~~In Outerspace~~~~
The little rocks and dust bits that had been created by the blasts whirl in at the ship...too little to be effectively hit by rockets, and not enough to be recognized as a threat by the shields, the dust dances around the ship, mucking up sensors and getting into engines and weapons systems.
((Sci/fi vs fantasy...warning, I'm familiar with both.))
~~~~Honimishu Castle~~~~

That will be enough, Glider. *The glider transforms back to the Raven shape, gives an irritated caw to its owner, and goes back to playing with its golf ball.*

People like that are so annoying...at the very least they should have opened a communications line...unless they aren't even advanced enough to do that.

"what the F*** IS THIS!!! screw it all to hell i dont care who heres our message open up a channel dam it!" exclaimed the captain, in his panic against the new threat of dust that just attacked his ship.

"sir what do you want us to do with the engines?" asked the helmsman also confused about what was happening for all he had been taught their wasnt supposed to be wind in space.

"keep them going dick head, those engines are hotter than hell the dust will be incenerated before they can touch them." the captain pointed out.

"sir the sensors are all screwed to hell we can see more without them." the radar technician said.

"alright shut down the radar system" the captain ordered. "start up all engines every side, well burn the dust out."

Honimishu Castle...

"Hmm, you're right. I don't like these people. Especially this part about sabatores. Unfortunatlly, our alchemists can only transmutate matter, we can't control forms of nature. We have something better for that." said the Shogun. He clicked a button on his telephone. "Get me Captain Murrue Ramius on the phone." he ordered.

Minutes later, her voice came on the line. "Sir!"

"Captain. Get the Archangel in the air, NOW! Here's the coordinates."

"That's a long way. We can be there in 5 minutes. We're finshing the loading of the GAT-X105 STRIKE. We also have 10 Astrays currently aboard."

"Very good. Leave now. If I remember correctly, Robertson and Zimmermann are the best two pilots there. Let them flip coins for who will pilot the STRIKE, as I'm not there.

"Yes, Sir!" The line clicked dead.

"There, that should do it." said the Shogun, back to the Crown Princess. "I'll put all the specs. on screen."

"Yes, now. I apologize for my predecessor's actions, or more his council's. Well, exactly what do you want to learn?" said Kenshin as the windows began to rattle as the Archangel passed by at a very fast clip. Once again, no attention was payed, even as the mini-fridge burst open, letting a pickle jar role out and hit the Princess's feet.

"Can I offer you pickles?"
Kaymiril

There is no need to apologize, Shogun. The responsible parties were punished...and it is long in the past. Glider, dare and I swear I'll put you in the scrap-metal pile.

*The glider had been starting to peck at the pickle jar, but stops at Anna's tone.*

Your technology is impressive...*Looking out at the Archangel as it speeds past* ...We've forgone a lot of technology for the sake of our magic...to go to the stars...my brother was going to go to the stars someday, so he swore. He always was tinkering with something or other, and we were always telling him to get his head back with us, or he would lose it by the time he was twenty. This is one of his inventions...a mix of magic and technology. He built four himself...one for all of us...before the bugs were worked out. Newer models don't pick up random things or talk back...but that's what makes these so endear -- You stop that...*The glider had been preparing to dive bomb the Shogun, but it squeaks irritably and goes back to playing with its golf ball.* and irritating.

Actually partially I was hoping to see an alchemist at work. What they do sounds very different from what we do, and learning about new types of "magic" is always a good thing. I also just wanted to see what your nation looks like. It's different...but pretty.

"Sure, I'll ring one of the state alcheists for a demostration."

A few minutes later, a young man walked into the room. "My name is Leiutenent Colonel Hitarisa." he said.

"Ahh yes." said the Shogun. "He is one of our most dependable alchemists. If you wouldn't mind, please show the Princess some of your work."

"Uhh, right." he replied. He walked over, and picked up a lose golf balls. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the glider looking at him with a crooked head. (You know, the curious expression, head to one side) "That'll be perfect." He knelt down, drew an odd circle on the exposed wood, and placed the golf ball in the middle. He placed his hands on the rim of the cirle design, and the interior of it began to glow. Before their eyes, the golf ball transformed into an exact copy of the curious raven. "It can't move or anything, but it has the exact same shape. Here," he handed the raven to the Princess.

"Thank you, that'll be all."

"Yes, Sir!" With that, he departed the room.

"Although alchemy is actually a science, the science of balance, he considers it more of an art. What I mean by balance is, that all he did was change matter, not create or destroy it. The golf ball wasn't enough, look."

In the floor where the circle had been, there was now a very slight depression. "He needed just a little more."

"About the technology, it's nothing more than perfecting an art. The more you practice making, say, operating systems for home PC's, it won't be ong untill some nut case trys to cram enough into a small space . See, at one point, the computer needed for a mobile suit's OS would be the size of the suit itself, about 16.5 meters on average. Over time, we've compacted it into the size small enough to wrap around the cockpit. you just need practice at it to compact it."

"Yes, I can see how ours would be different. The nation is basically square, with an enormous lake, more sea, in the middle. At the north and south ends, it's mostly farmland, and to the east toward the sea, it is flat forests. Just to the west, actually, barely two miles, are the Shinotara Mountains, which are almost all snowcapped year round. They provide good ski resorts. And past those, there's more rugged forests, hilly. (Like back woods michigan or wisconsin) The most remarkable thing is Magma City. To the west of it is an active volcano (much like Kiluea). Out of vents, it sends a literal river of lava toward a giant open pit. Around this river, a city grew up. It has channels running through it that are filled with lava. At night, it throws up a nice florescent glow. You should take a trip there sometime."

"Oh, and you should really name your glider. It just seems awkward to keep calling it "glider". Like my stress doll here. I named him "Jim", even though I'm almost 30."
------------------------------------------------
Above the atmosphere....

"Captain Ramius, we are closing in on the enemy." shouted the CIC commander.

"Thank you. Prepare to fire the Lohengrins!"

"Yes, ma'am!"

Out front, sections of the "legs" separated, and the Lohengrin assault beam cannons were exposed.

In the CIC, activity levels rose.

"Charging Lohengrins one and two. Disperssing muzzle static...static discharged! Lohengrins one and two ready!"

"Fire!" shouted the Captain.

Two massive beams of energy shot foward toward the enemy vessel.

"Prepare the linear catapults to launch the mobile suits!"

"Preparing linear catapults, AYE!"

Ah...I understand. Our Brown, White, and Blue class Mages are similar...they require balance of nature...our Brown class mages would be the closest we have to your alchemists. Our magic uses energy...some draw it from inside themselves -- which takes a lot of work, and is very tiring, and others can take it from outside themselves...there is a lot of life essence in the air...and it takes very little work to draw in sufficient energy. With a little concentration, we can do a lot of things...moving asteroids...moving different objects through kinesis...

*She raises her hand, and all the spare golf balls in the room bring themselves off the floor. She sets one as the center and the others spinning in different orbits (looks kind of like a model of an atom) around it*

And our healing magic is really what we're most proud of. Gray Class mages...but really, there isn't a child over the age of ten that cannot heal at least minor cuts. And the Masters of the Gray Class...I've seen them bring corpses back to life. Freshly dead -- but still...

Your geography is a lot different than ours. Ours is less...linear. Our cities are mostly stone, but some villiages are more clay and adobe...and our sights to see...the old Temples...they aren't taken care of, but they've never fallen into disrepair. I've never seen any architecture more beautiful than some of our ruins....where the old wars were fought, thousands of years ago.

And as to the glider...Enais was studying different languages at the time. Glider is his name...he'd probably be called Oreb if I'd named him -- Oreb is our word for Raven. And Tiu'r is our word for "Flyer" which is really the closest translation in my language.
Pschycotic Pschycos

Interesting, yes. And amazing. Our alchemists must also rely on their own strength, which is why a lot work out. One of our sayings is "If you're gonna try to beat an alchemist at a fight, you better have fast running shoes." I've seen some run out of energy in the middle of a battle, it's not pretty. They can't even move. I lost some good friends that way, they just over taxed themselves.

*Nods* Very few of our mages use their own energy anymore...only when they want really powerful effects. Tupora fashka -- living force, straight from the host -- is the purest. At the point you completely run out of magical energy -- mana, I think it's called in some regions of the world -- you die. If you deplete the amount you have available for use, you can't move. And in a battle, I could see how that could be deadly. I wonder...maybe there is a more efficeint way for your alchemists to channel their energy? You should send a few over to Kaymiril. We've spent centuries perfecting that art.

Glider swoops down, grabbing one of the golf balls in his talons.
"Think so, buddy?" *Chants something softly, holding her hand over the alchemist-created raven, and all of a sudden that one takes off, and grabs the golf ball from Glider, who gives a startled caw*
"Ah, see? Serves you right for misbehaving. Now, so that you don't cause any more trouble...Harl. ((down))" The glider changes back into its glider form, then folds tighter, to about the shape of a pencil, which the princess then slips into a wrist band. She then turns to the replica.
"Doer ((come))" It goes back to her, resuming its original pose. She then counteracts the spell, and it is as it was.
"Now that these are out of the way, it should be a lot less...rambunctious."

I do believe that I will send our best. Speaking of architecture, this castle has stood in the same structural shape since before this nation was formed, actually, since the beginning of our parent nation, about 700 years ago. In fact, she has not been repainted in 200 years, yet still retains her white coat.

About the technology problem though. Like I said, you need practice. To explore, we needed boats. At first, we could only make wooden dingys. Now, we are producing Arkhangels. On the same note, we started with laser pointers, and now we have the mighty Lohengrins. But, there is one more important thing that people need besides practice, and that is ambition and desire. Without these two, nothing in history would have ever taken place. An ambition for exploration, or a desire for defense...or conquest...
Kaymiril
31-12-2004, 19:05
Well, we have technology. Our navy is the best in our region...and Isaac actually has technology similar to your mobile suits. Our mother sent us off to learn how to work them when we were little. And Ina has space and laser technology. However, our magic has always provided us with a good offense and defense...and when Kaymiril I took over -- gods, it must have been over a thousand years ago -- our entire region has been at peace since then. We lost our desire for conquest...and a lot of ambition to know anything outside our own region. I intend to change that, when I take the throne. Actually, my region is preparing to set up an alliance with yours. My mother made me the official spokesperson...for seven nations. No pressure, right?

It was said that there was a magic, long ago, in the days of the early queens, that would allow the person who could use such magic to create any object they could see...out of energy alone. As the world got more and more dangerous, such magic was deemed to be too risky, and Queen Kaymiril III sealed it. How, we don't know...or in the unlikelihood it was an object, where. Probably for the best.
Pschycotic Pschycos
31-12-2004, 19:59
Yes, well, our region is a good place to start. Many of our members have explored and branched out greatl. And yes, I've read the documents on your navy, a fine one, I must say. The only match I currently know of is the Greater Prussian Royal Navy. tell Isaac to contact me as well, I'd like to see what he's got. And by reaching out as you are, you may just restore some of the people's ambitions. People will hear of foregin lands, and will, I don't know, take a vacation or something.

That magic though, it is good that it is sealed. A noble person could try to use it for good, but, absolute power corupts absolutely. And then again, a just plain evil person could...
Kaymiril
31-12-2004, 20:11
That's what I want for my people...Kaymiril has been dreary for the past few decades...ambition may be required for the first time in hundreds of years. I'd hate for the nation to grow stagnant. And when I get back, I will have Isaac contact you about mobile suit technology.

And I know what that magic could do. I read the reports on your ghost fleet...think of someone who had the power, just by pulling in the life energy from the sea -- which has much more than the air -- able to recreate it in all its entirety...manned to boot...with the sole intention of destroying everything on the seas? No...it is a magic that belongs sealed.
Pschycotic Pschycos

A second ghost fleet? Although a terrifying thought, I would actually like to see what would happen if the two met...but to create that, more would certainly not be unreasonable then too. Pray that it is never found.
Kaymiril
31-12-2004, 20:30
Legend has it that it is sealed in a place where daylight cannot find and mortal cannot dwell...It's safe enough, I should think. We do not draw our magic from items...we are taught. That is a magic that has not been taught or studied for the past seven hundred years. There is only one class of mage which might yet know it...and those are rare.

"CAPTAIN ENERGY BEAMS COMING STRAIGHT AT US." a call from an observation post above the ship reported.

"TRACK THE BEAMS AND MANEUVER! ALL HANDS TO THEIR BATTLE STATIONS. Obs. Post 3 track the beams to their original location and find out what shot the dam things." the captain quickly ordered

"sir we managed to avoid one but the computers say the second shot is going to skim the bow." cried the helmsman.

"brace for impact in 5 4 3 2 1." a sudden screech from the front of the ship and yellow lights and a screeching alarm blared out the signal that we had been hit.

"damage report." the captain ordered

"sir the computers were right it only skimed us. it went through cabins 3 4 and 5 on deck 1. the computer system has already engaged the automatic lock down of the rooms. " the ships techy said.

"sir this is Obs post 3 weve tracked the shots back to this ship." the picture came up with the archangel zoomed into the center by the ships external cameras

"whats the low down Obs post?" the captain asked

"not to to sure sir i havent seen anything like this before but from what i can make out it has two ramps, probably for those mobile suites of theirs, the shots came from barrels underneath the ships ramps, their are external pods probably for missiles, the bridge is located on top of the ship.two wings for added manevurabilty in the amtosphere, the engines are located on the back possibly where the two tail fins are. total crew is unknown but it cant be that much its kinda small its only 345 meters in length."

"alright thank you Obs. post 3." the captain said "well it seems our new enemy underestimates us. alright then ready all parasite craft load the missile tubes with LRBM's i want want 20 on the fly on my order and leave the rest in reserve, prep all miniguns and flak cannons for close battle. I want three squadrons in their fighters now. send the order back to home system." the captain gave out orders to everyone on the bridge who were already in the process before he announced his orders. these men have been with me too long, he thought to himself.

the ship
-----------------
all over the ship their was a hurried movement. missiles were being loaded into their tubes more were being brought up from the lower levels to await the time when they would be fired.

men in charge of the automated defese system were turning the systems off for manual use.

fighter pilots were rushing to their planes from their quarters that were not located far off, they were fully dressed and ready to go, while they waited for the captain to give his order they warmed their engines up,

more pilots were starting up their parasite craft. while men fully armed to the teeth with their assault rifles, grenades, armor, knives, machine guns, and grenade launchers. they turned on their radios tuning them to their signal and setting up the encryption system. they turned on their face masks that had specialized camera equipment for the battle ahead.

and a radio operator sat by him self in a closed room using the most sophisticated communications device ever constructed by the Helghast sendind a message to the home system

inside
---------------

the captain sat in his chair wating for his XO to let him now that everything was ready and in place.

the XO a tall man named Derek Weis looked over to the captain and nodded his head. the captain in turn nodded his head back to him.

"fire 20 Ballistic missiles, set up the laser target system on each rocket aim two specificly for the bridge. as soon as their mobile suites are within range, launch fighters." he ordered

outside
---------------

20 rocket tubes opened their hatches, as soon as they were pulled back they were immediatly fired. 20 rockets burst in a frenzy of fire from the ship on their way to meet the advancing ship head on.

OOC>Kaymiril, your'e a very good writer. Been doing this sort of thing very long?

On her wrist, Anna's glider began to beep rapidly. "Phor."

It unfolded, revealing the scene on the bridge of the Helghast ship. When the ballistic missles were fired, she let a word drop in her native language. "Xsa."

"Glider, tracking, now." The glider did as it was required, and came to it's master's hand. She held her hand over the screen, and drew in energy, taking a deep breath.

Vhid's ssussun, ol zhal naut tlu. ((OOC: Chaos's light, it shall not be))

The magical energy suddenly encased the missiles, tripping their proximity detectors and detonating them early. As they exploded, the Princess gripped the edge of her glider, slightly dizzy. "Chaos's shadow...I hate alien technology." She closes her eyes until the dizziness passes, then reopens her eyes.

Glider, intel, what are we looking at?

Working...working...working...Undermanned, weapons mass produced
and of low quality, they seem like they're hoping to win on sheer numbers.
Ship's armor plating relatively weak. The edge of PP Archangel laser beams
caught Helghast ship...wrecked whatever it touched. Crew is only semi-
professional...the customs and manners of that country seem heirarchial and
barbaric.

Uh-huh...oh, and Glider...just because none of us like them doesn't give you an excuse to call them names. Harl...keep me informed, though.

*The glider pulls itself back into its previous shape, and Anna sticks it back into her wrist band*

Archangel...

"Captain! Incoming missiles!" shouted Leiutenent Badgiruel from the CIC.

"Track them with the Igelstellungs!" Captain Ramius ordered.

"Aye, aye! Set Igelstellungs to full automatic mode!"

"Yes, Ma'am!" shouted the DSO. "Igelstellungs reporting good, full locks. They're preparing to open fire."

"Good!" came back Captain Ramius. "Prepare the Gottfrieds and the Valients!"

"Yes, Ma'am!" shouted the OSO.

Outside, panels on the tops of the legs, and on the sides of the base of the tail fins opened, revealing the Gottfried and Valient cannons respectively.

"On my mark, hit the enemy again....3...2..1..MARK!" shouted the Captain.

"Gottfrieds and Vailents...firing! Igelstellungs reporting 19 shot down...shit! one got through...."

A cataclismic explosion shook the ship.

"Damage report!" shouted Ramius.

"None. It hit the wing, the cooling system dispersed the heat." shouted the damage officer.

"Good. Launch the STRIKE and the Astrays!"

On the legs, panels lifted up revealing the catapults. Extra "arms" extended out. In the hangar at the base, things were now bustling as the transport systems were kicking in, lifting and moving the mobile suits to the bases of the catapults. In rapid succesion, the suits lifted away, and went streaking for the enemy, armed with their beam rifles and sabres.
Two stayed behind for defense.

Honimishu Castle...

Ha, ha. Don't worry, let it call them anything, they cannot here, which only makes it funnier. Here's a small lesson, Princess. When asking for a treaty with nations bigger than you, do not show any force, or willingness to use force, they don't like it. (that wasn't just for you, Kaymiril). Don't trouble yourself with magic, our sailors can handle it, though I appreciate your help.
-----------------------------------------------
Back in space...

"This is the STRIKE, all suits, we are entering enemy range, be alert and ready with your anti-beam sheilds. LET'S GO!!" shouted Zimmermann, who won the right to pilot it in a coin toss involving a double sided coin. The 8 Astrays moved in...
Kaymiril
01-01-2005, 01:56
*Nods* Treaties are non-aggressive acts, designed to promote peace and good will. You don't get good will at gunpoint. Anyway, if you're interested in watching the battle...then, let's watch.

Glider, phor. Tracking, spacebattle.

~The glider comes back out and hovers, watching the battle and showing the events unfolding for the Princess and the Shogun.~

And as to magic...little nations trying to pick on their superiors bothers me. ((OOC: *cough*ahem*cough*))

If Dora was here, -- my twin sister -- she'd probably have blown up the ship by now. Admiral Streea will step aside soon from heading our Navy...I wouldn't be surprised if Dora took the job.

Having the sort of power to just blow away your enemy at will kind of disturbs me...oh! Wait a minute, no it doesn't. You're right though, picking on your superiors (and clearly betters) is not a good thing. *makes sound like hairball*
Kaymiril
01-01-2005, 02:14
*Laughs* It's fairly useful, being able to "blow away your enemy at will." Just so long as that power is not abused.

*Looks down at the alchemist-created raven*

There is a lot of magical residue on this...more than I would have ever expected...makes me think that maybe your alchemists use more wideband energy than we do...we focus our energy very narrowly, and use less. It takes a lot of work to learn to do, so that's why we begin when we are children.
Pschycotic Pschycos
01-01-2005, 02:30
No, our alchemists use what is around them. They cannot create something out of nothing. Not only do they use their own energies, they use the energy from the matter they are using. The circles that thye draw also helps channel their energy. There are different ones for different things, each channels energy in different ways. Occasionally we get a very talented alchemist...

Another point that I left unnoted is "human transmutation", or things dealing with humans and their spirits. Skilled alchemsts, with the most training can bring back the dead, or attach their spirits to other objects.
Kaymiril
01-01-2005, 02:47
Yes...like our Gray class Masters. Ah well. When you send your alchemists over, Soba will probably be able to tell them how to channel, draw, and use their energy more effectively. Although you might want to warn them. Soba is a harsh task master, and the fact that your men are human will not give her sufficient reason to give them an easier time of it. I learned the basics of Brown magic from her, as did my siblings. It was rough.

Anyway, since we're watching a space battle, let's talk about land battles. You are a swordsman, correct?
Pschycotic Pschycos
01-01-2005, 03:00
Yes, indeed I am. Every soldier in our armed forces is trained in combat with a sword, and everyone carries a sword with them into battle. Our footsoldiers' armour retains the ancient samurai battledress, while being reinforced with the proper bullet-proofness. Again, they carry a sword, along with a gun. They are all trained in a general style. I myself have perfected the Hiten Mitsurugei style, one that is designed to fell an opponent in one blow. It's weakness is that the attacker is left open should he or she miss. The fact that I've been known as the "battousai" means that I've eliminated those weaknesses. I can't tell you more. Those that I have shown more to are now dead.
Kaymiril
01-01-2005, 03:09
Fair enough. We have different types of soldiers...most with modern weapons, but an elite unit or so that still practices with swords. The katana was a thing unknown to us until recently...I had one made a while back...it is a superior blade. My weapon of choice, however, is called the Jakujou. It is a staff that conceals a chain, to which is connected a crescent blade. At the other end of the staff is a pendulum-shaped blade. When I chose that weapon, my mother nearly died...it was so funny. It's a type of weapon a beginner could easily kill him or herself with...although a master can do anything with it.

Our armor...is not really armor, persay. An example would be this flightsuit. It is a very light cloth, enchanted to adjust for changes in heat or cold. It is also enchanted against most types of physical assault, such as a bullet, a sword, or a dagger, as well as many types of magical attacks. This allows for full mobility, with full protection.

"Captain the missiles were destroyed before impact by their defense systems." the radar technician announced. "only one missile was able to get through. reports indicate it was a piece of their wing."

"thats all? wow we really have to think about improving our nuclear weapons technology then. dont worry people i thought none would get by their defense system why do you think i had parasite ships standing by." the captain explained "launch all fighters, fire mini rockets at those mobile suites engage all of the ships defense systems, launch the parasite craft." he ordered.

in space
-------------

three squadrons of fighters launched from the fighter bays of the cruiser, two squadrons headed straight for the approaching line of mobile suites, the last one stayed behind with the ship and set up a defensive patrol around it.

2,000 minirockets were launched from the bow of the ship straight into the line of advancing suites.

it ended up that 30 parasite crafts were launched from the ships bay, after all aircraft left, the bay doors closed they locked into position, and sealed.

the 30 parasite ships felw into the rear of the fighter squadrons, which then formed a defensive perimeter around them.

at the shoguns palace
---------------------------

flying in camoflauge the dropship that had earlier left the solar system had turned around and went through the back door, while every observation post was busy observing the battle in space they managed to sneak through the defense systems, some days ago, they had been hiding amongst the people gathering intel about where the castle was and what the gaurd was. now they were finnaly ready for their assault when the order came through from the cruiser Knox.

in the red lit cargo room of the dropship all of Col. Danny Rash's men were ready, they each had on them a silenced sub machine gun, plus their usual armament of grenades, wire, a specially designed combat knife, and whatever else their specialties needed.

"Col. Rash you have green light." the officer in the pilots seat told him.

Rash gave him a thumbs up, and went back to his men and women. "Lets move boys, remember silence first, unless i give the order understood?"

"Yes sir" came the reply from his team

"Lets move, fast rope in, head for cover, and activate night vision." he ordered

Everyman had his own rope he was assigned to by memmory, and on that order each one of them roped down to the top of the palace. 8 of them moved over to the sides to check for gaurds on the palace walkways sure enough their was two gaurds on each side, after signaling the correct engagment method they demonstrated their athleticism and maneverued themselves on to the ramp where they came up behind each gaurd and with their wire strangled them until they hit the floor no longer breathing.

"alpha 1 clear, alpha 2 clear, alpha 3 clear, alpha 4 clear, alpha 5 clear, alpha 6 clear, alpha 7 clear, alpha 8 clear" they all radioed the man that stayed behind.

"alright col. area secure." he radioed up to the dropship

and with that col. rash dropped down, and postioned himself with Capt. Jason Wilson who had radioed up to him.

"alright lets move in we have to take a few gaurds alive though people." he gave out the order over his radio

with that they moved in swiftly and silently through the palace, they had to take four gaurds prisoner before they found the right room which was purely by accident since none of the gaurds helped. they found it gaurded by two men in armor each with a kitana on his belt, their was no other choice but to shoot them. so col Rash ordered Sgt. Heather Mauer one of the females and 2nd LT. Lisa Haggard to take them down with their silencers in the cleanest and the most noiseless way possible. they got excelent head shots on them right through the temple where their armor failed to protect them, their was a reason why those two had graduated top of their class in sniper training school.

col. rash then ordered up sgt. mat stefl, and Major Ronnie Slinker to come forward where they took out their own special guns, loaded with darts instead of bullets.

the two broke in the door and immeadetly fired several shots into the room 4 going to other gaurds in the room and two right into the necks of the shogun and some other woman.

"take the girl leave the note." the col ordered, the men looked confused for a moment the only orders they received were to leave a note for the shogun, not to take someone prisoner. but with all their training that had been drilled into them they obliged the col and capt Wilson picked up the girl over his soldiers and started for the door, but was quickly interupted by some mechanical bird that attacked him. Col. Rash snatched the bird out of the air slammed it onto a desk and stuck a knife through the main body, then took out his own silencer and shot it through the head. the bird went limp.

after that everyone moved quickly to the top of the palace from where they started and got into the ship with the use of ladders and a hoist for the girl.

the pilots on board were as astonished by the fact they had this girl on board as the squad was earlier. but no matter they powered up the engines and left the atmosphere through the same course they had come in on. and left the solar system only to return to it again to the ship they had previously come from. which was now watching a battle between mobile suites fighter planes and parasite craft using miniguns to get to the archangel

the dropship entered one of the bay doors and then followed by the remaining fighter planes that were swirling around the Knox. then the knox powered up its engines and left the system.

I advise you strongly to revise this assasination attempt. you have just shown us goddmoding incarnate. You cannot drop, infiltrate, and assasinate someone's leader, without your opponent having a say. So, either you revise it, young grasshopper, or I use my ultimate weapon...the IGNORE cannon.

Until it is revised, I will deal with the battle.

In space...

"Heads up, people!" radioed the STRIKE. Instantly, what had been a neat line of suits, was now empty space. It was a tactic they had perfected to an art. Each one used its own Igelstellung CIWS to shoot at the missiles, destroyng most. Their phase shift armour rendered the rest ineffective.

"All suits, engage enemy fighters!" radioed the MSC from the Archangel. "Angel-1, watch your battery, you're running low, STRIKE, you know what to do." the chatter continued as the suits engaged the fighters with their beam rifles.

The STRIKE, and one Astray went foward alone, straight toward the ship at full speed. Ditching its beam rifle, the STRIKE drew its beam sabre, and flew straight ahead, using its shield as extra cover. As it flew past cannons on the enemy vessel, it slashed off vital parts.

Archangel...

"Lieutenent, get me a line with LIBRA!" ordered the Captain.

"Yes, ma'am!" he replied. "I got it!"

"Admiral, I need help out here, you're aware of the situation, correct?"

"Yes, Captain Ramius. I know what you want. We are rotating now."

The giant battlestation began to rotate.

"It'll take a while, Captain."

"That's okay."

"Ma'am, we've lost Angel-5 and -7." shouted the MSC.

"Damnit."

The radar operator was next, "Ma'am, incoming craft."

"Prepare all tubes...FIRE!"

30 missile tubes in the ship's rear opened, and ejected their deadly cargo.

"Have 9 and 10 suit stand by."

"Aye, Aye."

((OOC: Waiting for revision. As my dear friend just said, you cannot godmode an assassination attempt...aside from that, kill the Crown Princess and incur Kaymiril's wrath...and she (Kaymiril VI, Queen of Kaymiril) will not hesitate to tear your ships asunder, teleport the ENTIRE Kaymirilian army to your nation, and wipe it out. Every man, woman, and child. Understood? Not to mention an assassination of the leader of PP would move Greater Prussia to wrath...your nation would be a PARKING LOT. Understand? It's spelled P-A-R-K-I-N-G L-O-T. And then we'd burn your corpses. So change it...Fa'la zatoast. Wait a second...I think that due to his lack of any half-understandable form of English, we figured that it was an assassination...I think that was tranquilizers, and you PP have been put to sleep and left there, and that I have been kidnapped. Yeah...reading over it for the FOURTH time...He still can't godmode that...still, it might be fun to play. When she comes to, Annastrianna would give them HELL. However, I doubt Shogun Himura Kenshin would enjoy terribly much having to explain to Anna's mother what just happened...let me know. Helghan, don't post anything more until further notice unless it be profuse, abject, groveling apologies in a GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT format. If you choose to ignore this command, we will use the ALL POWERFUL CANNON OF IGNORE and you will be wiped out. Entirely. Understood? Oh, by the way, if you had been paying ATTENTION you would know that Glider was not in Raven form at the moment. He only shapeshifts at his owner's command, and right now he's acting as more of a television, showing the space battle in striking detail. YOU MAY NOT GODMODE MY GLIDER'S ATTACK. I let PP godmode-ish his little crooked head position back in the alchemist post because a) no harm done and b) I could see Glider doing that. IF YOU CONTINUE TO GODMODE AND KILL GLIDER IN YOUR NEXT POST, YOU WILL BE FREAKING DEAD. It has a sentimental value to its owner...And Annastrianna is no "random girl"...she is a Drow. Her skin is black -- true black, not brown. Her hair is crystalline white. Being a member of a race of elf, she has pointy ears. Another thing about the Drow...even though her queendom is peaceful, her race has naturally...destructive tendencies. Awaken her hatred, and she will find out what her mother meant when she said "We are Drow, Annastrianna...there is always the potential for ruthlessness."))

lol gramatically incorect english whats so hard to understand about a dart, its not a bullet would you like me to edit my post and say in their they were magical sleeping darts that would whisk you away to LaLa Dreamland.

do people ever read a post, jesus christ when i played this game the people actually knew what the hell they were doing, and were at least semi-intelligent

first off if it wasnt an assassination attempt. i would have used regular bullets instead of darts, surely you can conjur up in your magical minds what that would mean... no. ok let me explain, tranquilizers. you know the stuff that makes you go to sleep and if i had killed you why would i take your dead body away, it would be pointless, because she would be dead wait. which a fast infilitration team wouldnt need.

second have you ever heard of a diversion, thats what it was in this case where my cruiser drew forces away from their posts granted it wasnt a very large force but still i doubt people wouldnt stop and monitor the progress of the battle which is when my ship slips in.

third GOD MODDING you have got to be kidding me you just blew away about 20 ballistic missiles, do you know what those are they have nuclear tipped warheads, do you know the amount of damage one of those could have done to a ship with just the shockwave. and you stated that it hit and took off your wing, the shockwave would have at least crippled the ship from even maneuvering.

and 4th your incompetence amazes me, god you can really tell its the downfall of man when people grow a big ass nation and a big ass fleet and all of a sudden they realise or dont in your case, the lack of strategy. ohh wow you got some big ass weapon being prepped to fire at me. you should have used that first, and if you meant to keep me preoccupied. you could have sent some of your less advanced ships, to keep me occupied while you blew me away. but no you send your most advanced ship to deal with a threat you know little to nothing about. and i swear to god if you say that damed bird told you. ill scream. no magic could ever understand a nations culture, millitary. and weapony that exists in another galaxy. face it youve been god modding all this time.

fith and this about your god dam glider thingy bird television whatever the hell it is, you obviously showed that it had some affection and protection issues with you. and what you just said would mean that thing wouldnt try to protect you. you fall prey to your own words

so to summarise it. it wasnt an assassination attempt it was merely a message. Tactics my friend read a book maybe youll learn some real ones instead of those damed fantasy books where they throw things at the enemy one at a time. you have been god modding this entire time. your retarded

so i dont give a shit ignore me if you want it works out better for the both of us, you can go along playing your little fantasy game, while i go off to bigger and better things playing with people who actually know their shit.

Due to your myriad spelling mistakes and lack of punctuation, "darts" was hard to see. Another thing...darts are not always tranquilizers...I have run across my share of poison darts. You might want to say "tranquilizing darts" before you start swearing at me. After all...it is your lack of clarity that is causing this problem.

I blew away the twenty ballistic missiles according to the Laws of Magic which Annastrianna follows. There was a price to pay. He let one get through and strike his wing...and as to shockwaves...it is OUTER FREAKING SPACE. Shockwaves only WORK when there is FRICTION. It doesn't happen in space, not with your little rinky-dinky nukes.

As to my "gathering intel" using Glider...I went to your d*mn'd site. You put the information out there to find, if I do recall. Making it fair game. If that's what you based your nation off of, you've got to be fairly crude. Other than that...your nation's tiny. You want to die, be my guest.

Since we're on the subject of Glider...he has more advanced functions than to peck out somebody's eyes. Especially when in that mode. Its programming in case something should happen to the Princess is to report it back to the Royal Family. There's also a very important secret about Glider that no one (at least character-wise) knows. Aside from that, Anna can get out of there as soon as she wakes up or as soon as she decides that you're boring her.

And how can you call me retarded when you can't even say "you're"?
The case of "your" you used was second person possessive, not a contraction pairing the nominitive case of the second person with a form of be helping verb.
Other mistakes I have seen frequently are the confusings of "there, their and they're."
There - relative adjective, describes relative location.
Their - third person plural possessive.
They're - third person objective case attatched with a form of be. Short for "they are"
And to go further: "hear and here"
Hear - (verb) to process auditory stimuli.
Here - (adj.) relative adjective, showing location.

You cannot accuse another person of stupidity when you have only a tenuous grasp on their language. And so, with that, I bid you adieu.

*flips hair over shoulder* What can I say? I'm elitist.
~~From this point on, Helghan doesn't exist~~

Glider comes out of his screen form and shakes himself, then perches on top of Anna's head and pecks twice.

"Ow! You stupid bird, what was that for?"

Glider merely caws at her and grabs a different golf ball...which Anna left swirling there. Shaking her head and waving her hand, she dismissed them to a corner of the room, then turned back to her host.

"Anyway...where were we?"

A button on the phone lit up. The Shogun reached over and pressed it.

"Sir, an enemy vessel has been shot down while attempting to enter the atmosphere over our nation. Also, the enemy space cruiser is turning away." said the voice at the other end.

"Good, recall all forces. I want the Archangel back here at the castle." replied the Shogun.

"Yes, Sir!"

Turning back to Annastrianna, "It appeares that we have won our first space battle. We lost two suits though. I hate making visits to the familys, it's always sad."

"Anyway, we were comparing the armour of our soldiers. And I must say, your armour technology is most impressive. Ours has sacrificed just a small fraction of protection to retain the traditional style, but I have still seen several suits come back with dozens of bullets loged in them, yet their owners were virtually unharmed."

*Nods* We had a ship go down the other day...cause unknown...it is hard visiting the families.
And congratulations on your victory, Shogun.

That's not bad. Armour that can do that is impressive, especially if not enchanted. And I understand that traditional Samurai armor was quite mobile, yet sturdy...much better than the clunky, clumsy metal suits of Europe.

Yes. The secret was that full plate armour was never used. Instead, many small plates were overlaped, and tied together, allowing them to twist and turn. Also, extremity portions were seperate, and not attached to the rest, allowing them independent movement. We've replaced the traditional steel with a more steel and kevlar blend.
Kaymiril
01-01-2005, 18:21
H'mmm...I wonder what it would be like if our two armour technologies merged. Neither system is perfect as of yet...it would probably be lighter than yours, but heavier than ours, retaining full mobility, and about as close to perfection as you get in this world.
Pschycotic Pschycos
01-01-2005, 18:25
Yes, but other nations wouldn't take kindly to impervious armour. We don't want to turn into our friend...Although, it would be a most beautiful piece of work, as far as war weapons go.
Kaymiril
01-01-2005, 18:28
True enough. I often questioned why my nation was so big on being ready for defense. Why have a navy or army, why did Ina expand her airforce, and Isaac build mobile suits? We didn't get involved with anyone else, and we hadn't fought for generations. Now that we're starting to get more involved, I guess it makes more sense. After all...not everyone out there is friendly.
Pschycotic Pschycos
01-01-2005, 18:32
Indeed. The reason all your forces were built up for seemingly no reason was that someone, somewhere, was smart enough to realize the inevitability of meeting the outside world, and that they should be prepared. they had the resources, they had the money, why not put it to good use? We are expanding to space because we realize the inevitability of a threat from there, and we must be prepared to meet it.
Kaymiril
01-01-2005, 18:37
True. Our economy's pretty shabby...we don't really have the funds to move into space at this time.
The first time I questioned as to why all this unnecessary war technology, my mother gave me that look, and said "Tlu kr'athin has ever been the mandate of the house of Maril." Tlu kr'athin -- to be ready.
Pschycotic Pschycos

Then again, if you don't have the funds for, or don't want to move into space, I've got good plans for a large IGNORE cannon.

*She stands, then makes a graceful halfbow, in the style of her people*

I thank you for your hospitality, Shogun Himura. Please feel free to visit my nation at any time, as my guest.
I really must be going now...Queens of my people train hard before ascending the throne, and our current Queen decreed I was to be back by a certain time. *Rolls her eyes* Training, training, training...*pantomimes putting a gun to her head* Ah well. Glider!

*She holds out her wrist, and her glider looks at her, irritated, drops the golf ball, and perches on her wrist, then flutters up to her shoulder as she puts her arm down.*

The Shogun rises as well, and bows deeper. "Yes, I understand. Take the golf ball and statuete. As our nations gifts. Errr, you know what I mean. I'll allow you to take off from here, no need for the runway or anything. It has been a pleasure."
Kaymiril
01-01-2005, 19:28
The glider caws happily and grabs the golf ball, sticking it into Anna's pocket, and Anna picks up the statuette.

"Our thanks to you, Shogun. Glider, harl. I look forward to the alliance between our two regions." As the glider shifts back to its transport form, Annstrianna holds out her hand toward the Shogun, and casts a mild blessing/spell.

"Whol gre'as'anto wun dosst phreng lu' lilbh'iahin wun dro, lu' natha verve ilstar" ((For peace in your realm and joy in life, and a long rule))

She steps onto the glider and it rises about half a meter off the floor, and a quick teleport to outside, and the Princess was off, headed back to her home nation.

"Well, another meetin over." muttered the Shogun. He went back over, and set the mini golf set back up. "Now, where was I?" He places down a ball, swings, and shoots a hole-in-one. "Hmmm. What luck."

Several days later, a package shows up at Honimishu Castle. Inside is a glider, similar to the one Annastrianna had had with her. There is a relatively thick instruction manual with it. On the cover of the manual reads

"Care, Use, and Maintenance of the Phoenix 200"

A note comes with the gift.

Shogun Himura,

This is in thanks of your generous hospitality the other day. I thought you
might enjoy one of these things. I reprogrammed it to operate in your
language, so in case of emergency you'd still be able to operate it. Don't mind
the manual...it's a beast. Just don't fall off during flight, and you should be
fine.

Princess Annastrianna of Kaymiril.

((I'm not even going to ask about you last post PP but Kaymiril's been on my butt to do this so here goes...))

*Records and sends a video message to Shogun Himura. It starts with the elven 'king' Isaac sitting in a tree*
Shogun Himura, my human officers have informed me of your mobile suit technology. We know of your growing ties with the Queendom of Kaymiril. If you are interested in advancing your mobile suits like Isaac is I am sure we could manage at least some meeting with the inventor of mobile suits from our country and the inventors from yours.
I am sorry for the impersonal message, but I do not know you and our ties from that past have been less then peaceful.

((Ok I'm an 'elf', I don't rp tech crap. I'm getting better but I still suck. For now I'll work on spelling))
