Ships:

The Family of Modular Combat Vessels (FMCV) is a totally unique way of building and fielding naval units, comprised of four main classes; Mercury (Corvette), Hermes (Destroyer), Quicksilver (Cruiser) and Mithril (Dreadnought). The FMCV utilizes welded Modular composite construction for durability, low cost, and reduced build times meaning that your fleet can be built faster and cheaper than previously possible! The Modular construction and ease of module interchangeability means that with little preparation your navy is ready to face any threat, from the standard fits (Arsenal ship, aircraft carrier, battleship) to oddball new ship designations (heavy gun supported assault ship) Taking advantage of recent advancements in stealth the FMCV features a record low radar cross signature and visual profile. These ships are fully customizable, modular armor system means that your modular combat vessel can have whatever armor scheme you choose up to full modernized battleship armor with ERA (not recomended, but possible)! Modular weapons systems means that if you believe your VLS units or naval gun systems are superior or you just want a different balance of size and numbers, you can change any weapon system out easily, eliminating logistics strain from supplying multiple ammo types to front line ships, modular electronics means that your new Vessel can easily support whatever communications/network you use in the rest of your fleet practically negating compatibility issues!
Presented below are standard configurations for each class, If you want something different for your fleet please enquire, the modular nature of these vessels practically ensure that whatever your needs are, a minimal amount of effort can yield exactly what you need.

Each Vessel is also equipped with a standard engine compartment capable of fitting a variety of power plants. Standard plants are Nuclear (for capital ships, availability noted by /N), Hybrid Diesel Electric (Default for all except Mithril Class)
And Hydrogen Electric Fuel Cell Stacks (Available for all classes, denoted by /H)
For Nuclear power plant, please add $1 million to cost of vessel (except Mithril class) And for Hydrogen, please add $2 million to cost.

The FPAs use MHDs to achieve ‘take off speed’ after which they rev up the two custom designed turbo jet engines that allow them to cruise in excess of fifty knots or kick up to 400 knots with out after burner. The Freebooters are designed for limited amphibious ability as well; smooth beaches and wide even roads could both allow FPAs significant overland range as long as it doesn’t attempt any steep inclines over three meters high, also, if it stops over land, it must be hauled back to sea to start up again. In rough seas it can easily take anything up to a six meter wave straight on. The Machine guns are attached to gyroscopically stabilized mounts that allow a gunner to fire with reasonable accuracy over longer distances and the two missile mounts are equipped to fire the ‘Swallow’ multi-role surface to air/surface to surface missiles.

The ‘wings’ can be ejected in flight to quickly revert to a stealthy cross section, additionally the 20mm cannon can be retracted into a fairing to further reduce radar signature. The mast mounted LIDAR array features a very low profile to maintain stealthy profile while still providing the advantages of a mast mounted senor package. The Six bladed rotor and counter rotor gives the Red Kite the lowest acoustic signature of any helicopter in its class. The Integrated FCD is capable of overlaying sensor data on the cockpit windshield and can be easily controlled from the pilot or gunners console, this cuts down on the ‘information overload’ experienced by pilots of the famed AH-64D Apache Longbow without sacrificing any sensor capability. To reduce IR signature the engine is contained in a non-heat conducting ‘chamber’ and the exhaust is pulled through an air-cooled set of arteries running throughout the tail section.

The Ruddy hawk is the premier in air superiority. Utilizing a revolutionary tailless design that increases maneuverability considerably past that of any conventional fighter while cutting the radar signature by more than 60 percent The Ruddy Hawk is almost unbeatable in air to air combat, it combines first strike capabilities with unmatched dog fight potential. One of the innovations for dogfights in this plane is the addition of ‘rear firing weapons nacelles’ basically hard points that have been shielded from the front specifically to launch rear firing missiles to deal with tailing enemy fighters that could otherwise be deadly opponents. The weapon we have had the most success with in this role is anti acquisition radar missiles programmed to home in on the targeting radar of enemy fighters. Other effective weapons include conventional anti radar missiles and heat seeking missiles. The SF-41 also includes an advanced multi frequency targeting radar, a virtually undetectable ladar system that can be used for target tracking and acquisition without alerting enemies to the Ruddy Hawks presence, a highly advance pilot suite that increases the amount of G’s the pilot can take using a revolutionary hydro-cushioning system, and SPX pilot avionics interface that allows unparalleled pilot reaction and control capabilities for an unbeatable aerial combat edge.

The IF/A upgrade to the classic F-14 Tomcat makes this classic interceptor a force to be reckoned with in the modern skies. An engine upgrade has given this legendary fighter new and more powerful legs, full range thrust vectoring jet nozzles increase maneuverability to allow the IF/A-14 to keep up with lighter, more modern fighters. Conformal fuel tanks yield increased range and a fully upgraded avionics suite allows the F-14 to remain the most ‘aware’ aircraft out there as well as streamlining the systems that manage the variable geometry surfaces that increase the performance of the F-14 at different velocities. With a 3d radar array capable of tracking and prosecuting over 100 targets, An array of cosmetic changes such as trimming corners, canting the vertical stabilizers by 15 degrees and streamlining edges as well as refurbishing the jet intakes gives the ‘thunder cat’ variation a much lower RCS than the original.

Weight; 27 kg
Length; 1.3 m
Range; 2,600 m
Price; $2,600
Features; Detachable command/targeting mount, full LEGION integration capability, Intuitive interface, all weather capability.
The Merlin integrated missile system is one of the foremost infantry missile systems available, it is capable of firing anti armor, anti artillery and anti air missiles under all weather and field conditions.
The Merlin anti armor missile is a fire and forget missile with pre launch lock on capability and a millimetric wave radar/dual laser targeting package that can identify targets in all weather conditions, even ignoring battle field distractions such as smoke, chaff and dust. The missile advances towards the target at low altitude and jumps to high altitude in order to take advantage of the typically weaker upper armor on most armored vehicles; the missile uses a double warhead scheme to defeat all known armor types including Explosive Reactive armor. The Missile can also be ‘programmed’ easily in the field for straight flight for use against bunkers and fortified positions.
The Merlin anti air missile uses infrared to track aircraft; it uses an explosive/shrapnelating warhead to damage engines and control surfaces.
The Merlin Integrated Missile System is primarily a ‘soft’ launched infantry missile launcher that can be fired from the shoulder or from the prone position but it can be attached to a mount and used as a vehicle weapon. The Merlin’s command/targeting mount can be detached from the tube launcher and used for infantry surveillance missions, it incorporates imaging infrared, 8x magnification light intensification scope and laser range finding as well as an 8x magnification natural light scope. The system is fully integrateble with the LEGION infantry suite but can also be used stand alone without the LEGION system. The tube launcher is disposable and al available missiles utilize a ‘pre boost ejection’ using low heat thrusters to eject from the tube prior to ignition of the primary booster for minimum recoil and ‘back flash’

Legion suite
The Legion suite of integrated combat systems is the most comprehensive infantry combat system yet. The genius of the system is in the back pack. Utilizing the latest advances in load bearing frames, the pack allows soldiers to maximize their combat load, integral to the pack, and the real reason LEGION is possible, is the hub; a laptop sized computer with link points for the various ‘modules’ that make up a LEGION soldiers equipment. Each module attaches to the hub which automatically regulates each module
Standard modules;
Helmet; a custom fit light weight composite helmet with heads up display integrated into goggles. Heads up displays information regarding other modules and systems
Communications; a small module that fits easily in pack, links with speakers and microphone in helmet for radio communication, 128 bit burst encryption, multiple frequencies with a range of around 5 miles.
Coordination; also fits easily in pack, includes digital maps, GPS and IFF systems all of which an be displayed on the HUD, along with pre selected checkpoints, objectives and navigational landmarks, displays friendly troops in area and identified enemy positions.
Uniform; the uniform is woven out of organic crystalline threads that react to electronic and chemical impulses to change stiffness, color, albedo and weave. Providing limited adaptability (can change between up to three ‘patterns’ which can alter slightly, fools night sights, can change weave for climatic adaptability and can change stiffness for better protection, better movement or stabilization of broken limbs)
Boots; can change from stiff hiking boots to loose running shoes or soft soled stealth boots and anything in between.
Weapon; includes a weapon sight camera, and ammunition readouts, mouse device can be moved from belt to weapon, only AR, SW and SR weapons

Standard suite costs $50,000
HUB weight-2 lbs
Standard suite includes all standard modules and one extra battery
Current continuous battery life is 30 hours with all standard modules in use, can be set to ‘sleep’ mode for extended battery life when not in use. Uniform and boot modules do not require continuous battery use.

Optional Modules include;
Counter sniper (1 per two man fire team, each soldier carries a receiver, when highly audible weapons fire is detected, can triangulate positions of snipers or riflemen) $300
Range(range finding and targeting lasers, ladar and other systems for calibrating sniper fire or calling in fire support) $200
Officers (complete combat readout, includes all troop positions and calculated enemy positions, self destructs if bearer is killed or unexpectedly removed, also provides access to additional channels for radio and satellite communication) $150
artillery (provides ability to tap Range modules in field for precise targeting information) $100

Armor Pebbling
This texture, applied to armored vehicles is actually made up of two main components, radar absorbing pellets that texture the armor to both reduce armored vehicles RCS and increase surface area for better heat disipation, decreasing armored vehicles detectability from both the increasing number of anti armor radars and IR and thermal imaging equipment, the second element is the base coat which is also radar absorbing and firther contributes to dissipation further reducing the detectability while bonding the pellets to the armored skin, the pebbling can be painted on normally and offers .5mm RHA value per mm of coating VS. HE, interestingly, the pebbled texture sometimes causes impacting KE rounds to shift from 'true' on impact vastly decreasing penetration. This effect however only rarely occurs (less than 5% probability)

We regret to inform the government of Gorthan that it is currently incapable of purchasing the requested Vessels, nor realistically could it upkeep and man the aforementioned Vessels. We wish that Gorthan check the NS Economy Index (http://nseconomy.thirdgeek.com/) to ascertain (determine, figure out) what funds and personel it has available. it is recomended that no more than 1/3 of its defense budget be spent on acquisitions and that no more than 3% (war time) of its population be actively engaged in the military

On A different note we would be happy to engage in diplomatic realtions with Gorthan.

OOC: In short you don't have enough people or enough money to buy what you want or to use it, However You can ally your self with me and eventually get discounts and what not when you CAN use this stuff effectively

Myth-class Submersible Carrier (CSN)
Dimensions: 423 m length; 122 m width
Range: Limited only by nuclear fuel
Speed: 35+ knots surface, 25+ knots submerged
Engine: Wuller and Farthing MHD-5 Hydro jets (x4)
Aircraft complement: 80 fighters or 75 fighter-bombers and helicopters
Armament: 4x CIWS anti missile systems, 2x anti torpedo decoy deployment systems, 2x anti torpedo torpedo tubes, 4x torpedo/anti ship missile quads.
Price: $5.2 billion

ooc: I'm wondering, how deep would this be able to dive? And how do you keep the flight deck from collapsing at high pressures? Wouldn't such a large flat surface be difficult to support? Is this like an enlarged and flattened clasic submarine design, or is it custom? If it is like a flattened classic submarine, it would travel slower at the surface than underwater. I'm wondering because I'm considering buying one or two to surprise an enemy. :D
Mondoth
01-03-2005, 00:16
The Myth class submersible carrier's flight deck is a multilayered honeycomb composite, underneath the flight deck is a small sectionalized space that is partially open to the external environment to prevent the stress associated with large flat surfaces under pressure. Under that is a pressure hull with two retractable 'doors' for the elevators from the hangar deck. The outer hull is designed for maximum surface speed to accomadate the high necesarry head wind for fligh operations of most aircraft.

Oh, so it's more like a surface ship that multiclasses as a sub than a sub that multiclasses as a carrier. What is its maximum effective diving depth? And how long does it take to setup for launch? Is it possible to partially set up and then submerge, move around, surface and finish setting up quick, and launch planes within a short timespan? If so, we may order some to surprise an enemy or two (or four).

We see promise in the idea of surfacing just barely on the far side of the enemy fleet and launching fighters at nearly point blank, and then submerging and picking the fighters back up on the near side, under the protection of our own fleet, among other strategies. Would this be feasable? We are studying methods of causing huge ammounts of damage without needing to project large ammounts of troops, and sometimes even fewer troops than the enemy has. (like attempting to take out a doujin equivelant with four 668 Los Angeles... methods classified ;) ) This carrier appears to fit in nicely.
Mondoth
02-03-2005, 04:04
The Myth class Submersible Carrier has a maximum submerged depth of 1000 ft. It can be fully prepped for launch in a short amount of time (depends on crew training, for medium trained crews, usually about half an hour) and then fully submerged without any ill effects. the lifts and catapults are designed for maximum speed to limit necesary surface time (which can be shortened if you have water proof/tight aircraft already attached to catapults, Coming soon to The Nine Military Storefront)
for most aircraft launches (assuming minimal available wind) The minimum advisable surface height is about 20ft over water, any less is detrimental to speed and may not provide enough airspeed-over-wings for takeoff of heavy aircraft (ECM, EW, Heavy fighter/bombers) for a quick strike using light STOL and VTOL fighters you can conceivably be so low that waves are lapping over the flight deck (no advised, can corrode equipment)

For the type of quick strike surprise attacks you're talking about I would recomend;
using mainly STOL Aircraft (such as our SF-19 and VF-12 fighters)
Using Elite crews with minimum 1yr experience training with the Myth class craft
surfacing to about 3ft over water
Under these circumstances, the time from surface to first launch (assuming ideal conditions) would be about five minutes, each subsequent launch could take place at roughly 1 minute intervals (The Myth class is equiped with two lifts and two catpults, so each launch would consist of two aircraft, VTOL aircraft can launch right off the lift shortening launch time considerably)

Well, the first thing to remember is to proof read (at least once) everything you plan on posting, The second thing is that, when you open up the forums, and click on international incidents, the first four or five posts are called 'stickies' because they're 'stuck' to the tp of the list, you don't have to read all of them but you should read the consolidation one, which is a ctually just a bunch of links to other useful threads on how to do everything from manage your economy to waging all out war. Mos of these have descriptive titles.

For now, when you buy something from a storefront, unless stated otherwise, it is assumed that payment happens when the order is confirmed. soem people require you to actually say that the money will be wired when the order is confirmed but i don't.

if all you want is five fighters, consider it a gift for your begining on the NS forums

Good Day Sirs,

The Benarvian air force is looking for a competitive tender for a Long Range Escort fighter that is able to match the requirements of Benarvia's potential Tylon Aerospace Industries B-300 Bomber fleet B-300 details (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9014629&postcount=1)

We will be awarding this potentially lucrative contract to the tender judged best by exstensive flight trials, statistical comparison, and a head to head combat test...

We look forward to your design concepts

Stay tuned for a $100 billion order. (No invasion planned, just better to be on the safe side)
Mondoth
07-07-2005, 22:22
Our first bid for the posted requirments for a support fighter for the B-300 strategic bomber is:
SX-24 (Spider)
http://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/x-36-2585113.jpg
(Actual craft uses LCD skin displays to change color for minimum visibility in any light/weather condition)
Span: 45 ft. 7 in.
Length: 63 ft. 3 in.
Height: 17 ft. 8 in.
Weight: 78,500 lbs. max. Takeoff weight
Armament: one 20-mm cannon
8x external missile hard points (1x ea. Wingtip, 3x under ea. wing)
Up to 20,000 lbs. internal mixed ordnance, two external fuel pod contacts
Avionics: LIDAR/LADAR for range detection and Identification w/out alerting the enemy, standard RADAR, integrated full cockpit display(FCD) for unmatched combat awareness(Similiar to a HUD but is displayed over the entire canopy), multi purpose LCD displays for instrument readouts and status displays (Glass cockpit)
Countermeasures: blue/green laser light system to disrupt and scramble LIDAR detection systems, Integrated radar scrambling with frequency agility, 100 flare capacity, 50 chaff ball capacity. airframe design reduces RCS considerably, liquid cooled engine cowling to reduce IRS.
Engines: 2x Shrak J90s (full range thrust vectoring) with 27,500 lbs. thrust each with afterburner
Cost: $51,000,000
Maximum speed: 2.5 mach at 33,600 ft.
Cruising Speed: 1.2 mach
Range: 6,780 kilometers (maximum with external fuel tanks)/ unlimited with aerial refueling
Service Ceiling: 71,150 ft.
Deployment: land deployable, can be used with Type 2 aerial launch blister, capable of carrier launch
Notes; The Spider is a next generation strike/stealth aircraft; using revolutionary new maneuvering principles that allow it to go without a tail rudder give the SX-24 unprecedented maneuverability and stealth for a strike aircraft. In stealth configuration (no fuel tanks, internal weapons only, sub-sonic speed limit) the Spider can out stealth the American F-22 and even the F-117, the new Shrak J-90 engine system provides low heat, low weight thrust without sacrificing capability. The SX-24 features a newly designed pilot interface that allows pilots unmatched reaction and weapons control. A visual enhancement system integral to the HUVD (Heads up Visor Display) allows detection to extreme (50+ miles) ranges without active detection systems in clear weather

our second bid is the SF-41/A (Ruddy Hawk) Air Superiority/interceptor
stats are same for the SF-41 available in the Storefront proper except that the following additional countermeasures
Integrated radar scrambling with frequency agility, 50 flare capacity, 10 chaff ball capacity. airframe design reduces RCS considerably, liquid cooled engine cowling to reduce IRS, LCD skin displays to reduce visibility in any light/weather conditions.
price: 49,000,000 usd.

Our final bid for the role of supporting the B-300 supersonic strategic bomber is the
PC-12 (Timber)
Span: 28 ft. 7 in.
Length: 49ft. 5 in.
Height: 15 ft. 3 in.
Weight: 30,175 lbs. max. Takeoff weight
Armament: two 20-mm cannon
in the fuselage w/ 20 degree mobility. Two guided ATA missiles on the wingtips
six pylons carry up to 7200 pounds of ordinance or fuel tanks
loads can include air-to-air missiles, air-to-surface missiles, bombs, up to 30 unguided rockets, or external fuel tanks.
Engines: One Shrak J95 (thrust vectoring) with 30,200 lbs. thrust with afterburner
Cost: $20,000,000
Maximum speed: 2.3 mach at 36,000 ft.
Cruising Speed: 700 mph.
Range: 3,600 miles (maximum with external fuel tanks)
Service Ceiling: 60,300 ft.
Deployment: The Timber can take of and land on very short runways making it ideal for naval deployment
Notes: The PC-12 represents the forefront of The NIne’s Aerial combat force. It is deployed in four fighter flight groups that function as efficient tactical units. Each unit is equipped with a portion of a distributed tactical AI system that allows the fighter to fight independent of human intervention. The AI functions over tight beam, secure, radio transmissions among the fighters, the system is incredibly hard to jam or scramble, but in the event of a malfunction or other problem, each fighter is equipped with a complex ‘Tactical objective combat’ protocol that gives it the ability to prevent missile locks, dodge incoming fire and engage small groups of enemy fighters. The ‘Timber’ was developed for medium cost, and fast deployment, it is a first day of war capable fighter. Each fighter can easily be maintained by a pair of dedicated mechanics. It is recommended that each four fighter group have one remote overseer to coordinate with other fighter groups in an engagement. The Timber utilizes the new J 95 Jet Thruster for increased performance at altitude and a forward swept wing for greater maneuverability, speed and performance at altitude

all of these fighters will be available in the regular storefront soon.

Mondoth
04-09-2005, 03:11
OOC: I always thought Gov. Waste was money spent by the government with no returns or money that was 'lost in the system' such as the infamous 'missing $25 billion' from the 2003 fiscal year. in essence it was 25 billion dollars, collected through normal government channels and then spent by a person or persons unknown for as yet unidentified reasons. Funding redundant studies and programs, money released to citizens under fraudulent or incorrect circumstances and the like. But hey, it's nation states and Government waste could mean unspent money.
If you happen to hae a link or something that explains the issue that'd be nice because I've always wondered.

Naval: The Shipyards at Wuller and Farthing have recently released the FMCV, which, becasue of logistics complications among other factors, will not be appearing in this storefront in the forseeable future, this series of naval vessels will soon be available at an off site location.

Rumors are flying about the possibility of a secretive project possibly called 'ceberus' (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=466558) that would be a revolutionary new Super Dreadnaught, however these reports have gone unconfirmed by the Shipyard itself.

Ground Forces: An upgrade tot he recently added 'Kodiak' is int he works as is a reconceptualization of several older designs (Gator, Wolf, Gorrila) nad further operational packages for the MAAS

Airforce: A new UCAV in the PC series has been in the works for some time now but progress has been slowed by problems witht he release of the IFA-14 rebuild and the recently canceled SX-24D rebuild. New Helicopter designs will soon be forthcoming as well as a new Strategic Bomber and a High Altitude surveilance aircraft.

17-02-2006, 06:38
The Republic of Agonnoga would like to buy:

Freebooter class- fast patrol surface effect boat (FPA)
Dimensions: 20m length; 7m width: 0m draught
Speed: 50+ knots cruising, 500+ knots with afterburner (short term only, maximum advisable speed for manuevering is 155 knts)
Engine: Wuller and Farthing MHD-2 Hydro jet (starter), 2x Shrak B-21s w/afterburner (cruising)
Armament: 6x stabilized .50 caliber Machine Guns 2x 81mm mortar, 2x stabilized Air to Air/Air to Surface rocket launcher, 4x mounted grenade launchers 1x 35mm stabilized console operated deck gun (SA, SS)
Price: 2 million
The Freebooter fast patrol boats offer speed and firepower in one must have package, utilizing the surface-air effect these ‘boats’ actually cruise about 4 meters Above the surface of the water. The ‘boat’ looks like a weird Sci-Fiesque hover vehicle with a boat stuck through it.

Ten of these for a cool 20 million.

OCC: Could you suggest or create a small package of Naval/Air Craft for our Customs & Border Service? Dont worry about the Police! There budget has been cut back, and the Government will upgrade as such at a later date!

Certainly!
First off your going to need an Air-superiority Fighter, on your budget the best choice is probably the SF-19 (Dragon Fly) its light and cheap and is perfect for either naval deployment or conventional deployment

Next up, you'r going to need something heavier for strike and general purpose missions, We have quite a bit to offer in this area, the SF-37 is a good solid and not to pricey multi-role option, another Idea would be the VF-12, its a VTOL fighter though which, while adding to deployment possibilities and yielding a signifigant advantage in Air-Ground missions, does subtract from the ordnance load out and adds strain to logistics. The final option is the PC-12 (Which I will finally get around to posting stats for tomorrow) The PC-12 might not be right for you if you play primarily MT as it is an unmanned aircraft, but the way technology is moving if you play with more recent stuff and a few years int he future its not a problem. Its very cheap and is basically a larger version of the PC-8 already available if you want to take a look at the special features.

The Final real fighter role is a good heavy hitter for strike misisons, intereception (Fleet defence) and as a general heavy duty workworse. The Best option is the IF/A-14, its not too expensive and has pretty signifigant capabilities, obviously the SX-24 is better, but at the rice, you can't beat the Thunder-cat.

For support a good mix of C-210s and VC-229s (To be added tomorrow with the PC-12, basically a navalized C-210) for transport and logistics, and the E-20 for AWACS and your set. If you have any particular preferences just tell me and I'll whip up some numbers for you. Ohterewise I'll post a package on sunday
