The Real ALM

12:00 AM, local time-
A lone white van drove to the Vreden Nuclear Power Station. Stopping at the gates, the security man went, "Hold on there. I need to see your ID."
The man inside went, "Here you go, sir, here is your needed ID."
He handed his driver's license to the guard. He perused it, checked it with the database, and then said, "Looks clean, you can go in. You need to get some work done?"
The driver said, "Yeah, I need to perform maintenance on the control computers."
The guard nodded, and opened the gate, and the white van pulled into the parking lot. Finding a spot close to the reactor complex, the driver parked the van and got out. He then swiped his ID card into the security slot, and walked in.
It was after hours, a skeleton crew manned the complex. Security was tight as expected, this was a nuclear plant, not a bar. He was frisked, and passed inspection.
The man, a one 23 year old John Rickenbacker, walked to a broom closet. Opening it, he went inside, and found a man sitting there.
The man pulled out an SP-101, and said, "Who are you?"
John said, "I really wanna know."
The man smiled, and said, "Good job, you remembered the password. Here's a keycard, made it myself by hacking into the system, a video scrambler, got it mailed to me from HQ, and a spare Makarov. Use it on the security office, scramble the cameras, and alert your wrecking crew the password."
John nodded, took the card and walked away discreetly. Closing the door to the broom closet, he wandered to the Main Security Office. He used the keycard, and went inside.
Inside, there was nobody there, the crew inside was apparently on their break. A man inside was reading a Playboy, and not looking at anything else.
He looked at John when he came in. "You maintenance?"
John nodded, "Just have to check up on the security systems."
The man sighed and went, "Well, okay, they just checked it, the brass has been awful paranoid...."
The man left him alone after that. He left a radio playing "Spirit in the Sky" by Norman Greenbaum. Something just a tad ironic, for what he was about to do.
He found the tape for the cameras, and took out a video descrambler, an ex-Xenizen CIA model, disguised as a PDA. He plugged it into the video unit, and turned it on. It played the last three seconds of the image again and again....perfect for what they wanted.
He left, gave the man a thumbs up, said, "Just running some tests, don't touch nothing, okay?" and went into a bathroom. Inside, he pulled out a phone and called a number. He then said, "Honey, how are the kids?"
-----------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, a Japanese woman, named "Hyatt" and several other people in the van, also dressed in maintenance uniforms, got the message, and said, "The kids are alright."
Hanging up she then said, "Let's go."
The other team members got out, walked to the entrance, and scanned their cards. All registered fine, and they went in.
They all went through the search. Nothing seemed unusual to the Security Staff about these workers, they apparently were on a routine maintenance run.
Of course, there was one guy. One of the team members, a "Greg Focker," obviously a pseudonym, had some explosives on him. He was detained, and taken aside for questioning. Hyatt didn't care, he was the fall guy, he had the explosives planted on him deliberately in order to distract the pigs. It also helped that he was twitchy, and neurotic.....he beat up one of the guards, and he served as a perfect distraction as several guards ganged up on him, enabling the others to get away.
The others meanwhile, went on their way to the reactor complex. One of them had more explosives in his Maglite flashlight, good old Czech SEMTEX. Hyatt had an arc welder, and another had more SEMTEX in a flashlight.
Meanwhile, another team went to the control room. They were armed with more simpler tools- Maglites for some, and SP-101 revolvers and Makarovs for others.
------------------------------------------------------------------
The team walking to the reactor housing went to there, and began to punch in their passcodes. The computer let them into a room, where they picked up radiation suits and began to walk to the door.
Just then, one of the guards asked them, "That are you doing here?"
Hyatt answered him with a karate chop to the neck, which knocked him out. Then, using his palm print, they let themselves in.
The large reactor complex was sprawling....but they could identify the cooling pipes, reserve and main. The members with SEMTEX planted the the explosives on the cooling pipes, and Hyatt used her blow torch to work on random objects, to provide cover and make it seem that they were normal. Then, they left the area, and after going through decon, they walked out of the reactor area to the break room.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The team walking to the control room sauntered in the room. The people inside went, "May I ask what you're doing in here?"
The team members pulled out their guns, and began shooting the control room staff. They then began to mess with the controls, and shut off the coolant valves. They also messed around with other vital controls, and inserted the rods in all of the way. Then, afterwards, they shot the controls, and smashed the consoles before leaving.
The alarm went off, as the reactor began began to achieve critical mass.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The two teams rendezvoused in the breakroom. There, the other men who shut off the security systems before joined them. They then left, and returned to the van.
Driving off, they waited until they left the lot to detonate the SEMTEX.
The resulting explosion blew out the pipes, and damaged the reactor and the cooling systems.
The reactor, which was already going critical, melted down.
By the time the staff knew what was going on, it was too late......the reactor exploded, releasing deadly radiation all over Vreden.
