A cry was heard from the crowd. "Juristan will be one with the Empire of Golencia again!" Hundreds of cheers followed as a group of protesters gathered around Juristan City's City Hall. The Angry Mob carried bats and chains, but were no real threat. As they screamed swear words at the building they waited for a response.

Several of the men, were Angry and began to throw rocks through the windows. After several minutes of turning cars upside down and setting buildings a fire, the angry Mob busted in the doors and windows of the City Hall. One of the Men was carrying the Golencian Flag, which showed loyalty not only to Golencia but the Pope. However this isn't the only place under attack.

On the Southern Coats the beahces were filled with bonfires and hundreds of Juristanians destroying ports. They boarded onto Boats and set them on fire. It was another riot, no Revolt. The people were angry and united under one flag. The flag of the Vatican. The revolt was not only for Golencia but for their religous purpose as well.

Do you want to know more?

In the Southwest Cities an uproar of citizens occured and they began to tip cars and launch bottles of Alchohal which burst into flames. The Local Police Force was shutdown and several officers joined in the riot. On several buildings one message was written "VIVA LA CAPITALISM! LONG LIVE THE EMPEROR WE WILL BE ONE AGAIN!"

Do you want to know more?

The Entire Island was in a major war, between the newcomers and the natives. They would be massacred or take back their land. Although the rioters were only armed with Bats and Chains, no one can forget the Riot that took place with the True Juristanians.

Outside Juristan City

Governor Thomas Cahill smiled across the table at Jeromica, the leader of the True Juristanian movement. He sipped slowly from his cup of Darjeeling tea and motioned for Jeromica to help himself to the assortment of teas, he paused and nodded in thought to himself, “If you would like coffee, I suppose I could find some around here for you. It’s just that the staff here, being all from the Commonwealth… well, we’re more of a nation of tea drinkers than coffee.”

“But as I had been saying, I was wondering if you could elucidate your organization’s wishes and desires. Surely you can see that any sort of armed uprising would be detrimental to both our causes. Your people will die because my men will be forced to defend themselves, your peop—“ Cahill was interrupted as a young, pretty-looking woman walked into the conference room.

She placed a manilla folder in front of Cahill, and whispered into his ear. He nodded, and then sighed. “Thank you, Elizabeth. Now if you will excuse me, I need to continue this talk with Mr. Jeromica here.” With that Cahill turned his attention once more to his couter-part.

“I see that you, or if not you your lieutenants, have already started a massive rebellion throughout the Juristan Republic. Your forces, I shall inform you, have already taken the City Hall and the Juristanian local leaders are now in your custody. But I must insist that we try to settle this peacefully, Mr. Jeromica. I do not want to see your roads and rivers red with blood. But if you must insist on this armed path, well… to be honest, I am not going to have any other choice but to engage your insurrectionist with my battle-hardened troops.”

Cahill now leaned forward and placed his arms on the table, his fingers interlocked. “Mr. Jeromica, my hands are already partially tied, per Commonwealth protocol I now need to call in a few more divisions and I already should be calling in massive air strikes to wipe out your men. So please, talk to me before this gets any worse…”

Jericoma stared at the woman as she walked out and whistled. He looked back at Cahill. He smiled and then said, "You get me with her and ill see what i can do....." he paused then lost his smile and becmae more serious.

"You, are not people, but murderers. The True Juristans don't hide out in thier own secret society, but they stay in the homes of Civilians. You are threatening to kill innocent people who are bound by Golencian law." Jericoma turned to the door, hoping the woman would walk back in. then he face Cahill again.

"I know what your thinking this isn't Golencia anymore[i] well ill tell you what as long as the natives live here is as long as we are Golencia."
Again he turned to the door, all h could think was [i]where is she? he knew the true leader would be enraged with him.

Again he looked back. "Now if you want peace then you help us. If you help us take the rest of our island back, then we will leave you be. Your troops dont need to where your uniform, we have hundreds of spare clothes. Now you see by you helping us you ensure your own spot here, and you ensure we still are Golencians. We both win."

He smiled, and then turned to the door....

Cahill was absolutely flabbergasted. This, dare he call him a man, had bothered to insinuate that he… a loyal servant of the Commonwealth, would dare take part in the trading of human beings. His face became red with anger, and he struggled to contain it.

“Why, sir… on two counts I am most offended. Personally, that you would dare… even joke about trading living human beings for material gain, let alone my daughter. Secondly, on matters more serious between two leaders, you accuse my nation of being murders, when it is your group of… thugs, that are running around killing people in the streets.

“You insist that you are citizens of Golencia; yet you fail to realize that the Commonwealth did not land in Juristan by force, we did not land on your northern shores, we did not paradrop into your cities, we were invited by your government after we purchased this land from your emperor. While you may be unduly offended by the actions of our two governments in selling your land without your personal handwritten consent, your government surrendered its land to the Commonwealth and ipso facto, you are now legally citizens of the Commonwealth.

“Your heritage may suggest Golencian lineage, but your passports, your legal status, your rights, are all of the Commonwealth of Azazia. And the Commonwealth, sir, is here to stay. We are now your government. You are now in breach of Commonwealth law. If you do not cease this active insurrection there will be most grave consequences for your actions.

“And if you seek to take solace in the comforts and hospitality of citizens, then you have become nothing more than mere thugs and terrorists. And upon that note, the international community will not come to your aid. You stand at better odds of achieving any goals, which you still have not yet stated, by talking instead of killing.

“If you want to be part of Golencia… well your emperor sold you to this nation, and many others because they thought you the least desirable, the most profitable. They sold you for quick cash in their own little war. And I, I came here to help you people achieve a greatness unattainable as a part of Golencia.

“You want religion? You can pray to your god and your pope, the Commonwealth doesn’t care. You want capitalism? Hell, the Commonwealth follows a mixed market-collectivist economic model with a great part of that balance in favor of market economics. You want to keep Golencian culture? Go right ahead, we support multi-cultural societies. The only thing you won’t get will be Golencia as your national sovereign authority, that authority is now the Commonwealth of Azazia. And as I said, we are here to stay.”

Cahill took a long breath, he had realized that he had gone off… diplomatically of course, it had been a civil monologue, but very loosely formed, while coherent it tended to ramble. He knew better. But damn this man, his daughter… damn the man. Damn his cause. He surely had to know that none of these nations would willingly part with their new territory. Maybe he didn’t realize that Golencia had sold them, like mere chattel. Maybe this man was an idiot. Though he doubted that, although his remarks certainly did not seem in keeping with one leading a revolution. In fact, as Cahill had watched his mannerisms, he truly did not seem like a leader. He looked… like a patsy. But of course, he couldn’t be sure. Cahill closed his eyes and exhaled.

“Mr. Jeromica, you call my people murderers, yet you have not met many if any at all. You say we threaten to kill people bound by Golencian law. We do not, because no person on this island is bound by Golencian law, everyone is now bound by Commonwealth law. If you wish, I think some arrangement could be made with the Golencian government to repatriate you to your former homeland. But, I assure you, the Emperor and Prime Minister themselves are not willing to part with what is now called the Juristan Republic. Hell, if you want, you could even rename it. But the fact of the matter is that you, and all the people in this territory, are now citizens of the Commonwealth and not of Golencia. That ceased to be when we purchased this part of the island. Being we did not purchase you, you are free to leave to Golencia and never return here, but being here, with the transfer of sovereignty of these lands implicitly came the transfer of citizenship. We will not assist you in overthrowing legitimately installed governments.

“I will leave you with this, Mr. Jeromica; if it is peace your people desire, tell them to drop their weapons and return home. But if it is war and bloodshed you want, then your people will more than likely pay the price. But that decision. Those deaths are on your hands, Mr. Jeromica. I’ve given you a peaceful option, sit down and we can work your concerns out – within certain boundaries. But if you want conflict, all this blood will be on your head. And I assure you that then the Commonwealth will not be satisfied until you are in our custody, either alive or dead.

Cahill planted his hand on the man’s shoulder and squeezed, “I implore you, sir, for the sake of your own people, end this fighting. My secretary Robert will show you the door, and I will grant you safe passage home to confer with your lieutenants, but make sure you tell them that I am quite serious.”

Cahill motioned for Robert, a man of average height and medium build and fifty or so years to come to the now open door. He whispered into his ear, and then Robert announced, “Mr. Jeromica, if you will follow me to the rear entrance, it will be my honor.”

Private Thomas Jenkins clutched his weapon dearly; his unit had been dispatched as reconnaissance from the base outside Juristan City upon reports of a massive uprising. Jenkins knew that this whole area was a mess, that there was really no damn reason to be out here amongst these primitive bastards… but nonetheless he had to follow orders. Nonetheless he was scared shitless.

Jenkins took a breath, but clutched the rifle tighter as the infantry fighting vehicle flew over a bump on the dirt ground. He glanced down at the weapon, a pulse rifle. It was probably best to think about things other than the upcoming battle, and so he chose his rifle. The AR-28 MkII pulse rifle. Jenkins came from a small fishing village in one of the smaller islands of the Commonwealth, despite the whole nation having a great educational system his little home did not. All Jenkins knew was from basic training, that it had something to do with the battery charging coils and… well all he knew is that it fired his bullet faster than a gas-operated rifle. Granted, it weighed a bit more than some lighter gas-operated rifles, but its stopping power was great enough that given proper range it could puncture some body armors. And that, Jenkins noted, was a good thing. Except that here it was a ragtag force he was fighting and these rounds would tear straight into human flesh, and destroy human innards.

Jenkins also carried a bayonet. Sometimes, usually it wasn’t standard, who the hell used bayonets anymore, with all this science that he didn’t understand, no one ever came close enough to stab another with. But for some reason the sarge ordered the whole damn platoon to sharpen their bayonets. His rifle thus had, underneath its barrel a triangular blade 12 inches in length. And in his combat belt, Jenkins also carried his own personal eight inch combat knife with him… so he now had two bladed weapons at his disposal.

The small vehicle approached the outskirts of the city and moved cautiously up what the Commonwealth had designated as 65th Avenue, the main route that the 65th MID would take into the city of Juristan in case of emergency action. As it approached the city hall, the large mob assembled became visible. Sergeant Nicholas Hawthorne, who had become the translator for the platoon raised the forward hatch and drew up a bullhorn.

“Ladies and gentlemen, this is the Commonwealth Army. You are in violation of Commonwealth law. Lay down your weapons and you will be allowed to return to your homes. If you do not disperse the Commonwealth Army will be forced to disperse you. If you fire or threaten the Commonwealth Army you will be fired upon in turn.”

Hawthorne repeated the message several times while Jenkins and the rest of the squads loaded their rifles and fixed their own bayonets. There was no mistaking it, except for Hawthorne and a few of the older sergeants and officers, the men of this company and damn nearly the whole division had seen little actual combat. The fear was in their faces, their muttered prayers, their rosaries, their books of prayers. When the rear hatch flew down every soldier piled out, and when they lined up next to their fighting vehicle that fear had been replaced by training and discipline.

Jenkins was responsible for securing the fifteen story building along the broad avenue. He ran in, and along with two other privates made way for the stairs. The men reached the roof of the building without incident, and while Jenkins leaned over the ledge, peering down the street at the mob, Private Anatoly Zmirov placed his bipod on the ledge and trained his sniper’s rifle upon the crowd. Jenkins looked back towards the door, his responsibility just in case their position was overrun. The other private, Jim Kelly was acting as Zmirov’s spotter. The street below was tense as nearly a hundred men and a few infantry fighting vehicles, with their chain guns pointed faced down the protestors six blocks away.

As Jenkins walked away from the ledge, he simply sighed. It was now in the hands of the damn rioters. Did they want death, or did they want to see their families again? Either way - Jenkins paused as he released his safety - he was ready.

IC:

Several explosions were heard in the distance and screams followed as an angry mob of 400 Juristanians beat down the doors to the old Governors Palace in Juristan City. They fired on anyone who dared so much as look at them. They through several bottles of Alchohal into the building and set it on fire. They grabbed paint and wrote on the walls "The Real Juristanians" just as the few men that had painted on the wall were leave 30 Men equipped with AK-47s fired on them. One spit on the bodies and looked to the wall.

He grabbed the paint and crossed it out and wrote "True Juristanians Rise Up!".

Meanwhile....
As Jericoma returned he looked at his boss, then to Roberto. "Yea the man blew a gasket....whatever that is....he refuses to help us."

"Well did you agitate him?"

"Well i saw this beatiful girl and...."

"You idiot! You stick to the matter! Those Real Juristanian are trying to make a name for themselves! We have two boys going down there to negotiate. We plan to team up with those bastards and then make our move elsewhere. Right now our focus is to get some support." he looked over to a large picture of a man in robes kneeling before another with a crown above his head. It was the Pope Crowning thier Emperor.

"Remember we must do this for the Emperor. His financial losses made him sell this land so he could afford the rest of the Empires safety. A great men, he wants us to return! We must fight for him!"

Jericoma stared at the picture, "Your right sir, im going to go back, and strike a deal! If they help us we'll coexist with them, and make sure they're safe. For the Emperor!" Jericoma turned and left.

He returned to the bilding were he met Cahill before and knocked on the door....

Juristan City

Jenkins stared down the street, keeping an eye upon the mob. It seemed that some were... was it painting on the wall? From this far away, he really couldn't be sure. He knelt and dug through his pack to pull out a pair of binocculars. It wasn't standard issue, but he could always bring along a few extras. Here it was helpful. He sharpened the writing into focus... "The Real Juristanians"... I wonder what that mea--

Rifle fire broke the tense calm that had permeated the city street. Jenkins dropped his binocculars into his pack and drew his rifle on the crowd. Through his scope he watched as men armed with what appeared to be AKs fired upon... fellow members of the mob. "Hey, Aniy, you getting all this?"

Zmirov didn't move but gave his ascent, "Yes, I just don't know what the hell those crazy bastards are doing... you'd think they'd be firing on us. Maybe they're rival factions? But don't fear Jenkins, I'll protect you, don't be scared."

"Shut up, Aniy." Jenkins looked back into his scope and along with the men in the streets continued to keep an eye on what was going on. While doing so, he could hear the loudspeakers below booming in the Golencian language.

"This is the Commonwealth Army. Relinquish your weapons and stand down immediately."

Outside Juristan City

Cahill greeted his secretary, "Mr. Cahill, the Golencian envoy has returned." He nodded in acknowledgement, but didn't divert his eyes from the satellite feed being brought in that covered the rioting in the city.

"Let him sweat, let him wait... half an hour. He dared to insult my family."

Half an hour later, Jericoma was led into Cahill's office, where he was instructed to sit in the chair in front of Cahill's massive oak desk.

"I understand from my secretary that you have returned to negotiate with us. I can only reiterate my government's position. This land was legally bought from Golencia and as such now belongs to the Commonwealth. We are willing to grant autonomy, but we will not surrender this territory to you or back to Golencia. Furthermore, we recognize the sovereignty of the other nations on this island, and are not willing to undermine that sovereignty for the risk of bringing war upon the Commonwealth. The Commonwealth is steadfast and will not waver on those positions. Now, we are willing to discuss autonomy, but not until these... riots are ended. Is that understood?"

17 True Juristanians never made it our of there. More angry than anything the mob grew to 600 and they charged where the opposisition began.

Meanwhile.....

you bastard make me wait i outta... Jericoma thought to himself. "Let your government take whatever position you want, you and your egg head friends can say or do what they want, as long as you leave us alone the riots in your cities will stop. If you interfere with us, this is all out war."

Jericoma turned and began to head to the door when he stopped and said, "Where's that sweet thing that was here earlier, i should apologise to her and you before i go. I shouldn't have said nothing of the sort, however i thought you'd think it funny...."

Jenkins stood near the rooftop door, when Zmirov's sniper rifle cracked a shot that tore asunder the silence of the Commonwealth firepower. The 35mm chain gun on the infantry fighting vehicles began to lay down a wall of fire in front of the charging mob. Individual soldiers trained their pulse rifles on lead elements, and with intermittent KA-THUMP, KA-THUMP, KA-THUMP accelerated hollow point projectiles raced towards the mob. The rifles having been designed to penetrate Kevlar body armor were never tested, however, against civilian populations. The amount of damage and number of deaths were to be...

horrific thought Jenkins. But now it was kill or be killed.

Outside Juristan City

Cahill nodded at Jericoma's words. He didn't necessarily agree with him, instead he found the man insufferable. But he was a life-long diplomat. He was using to dealing with arrogant fools. Instead of showing anger or displeasure he merely smiled, "Firstly, I will make the apology for you to my daughter. She was understandably quite upset by the events that transpired. But now to the matter of our non-interference. If you will agree to this territory now being the sole property of the Commonwealth of Azazia, we will grant this territory autonomy within the Commonwealth and in return not prosecute those who are rio--"

His secretary entered the room unannounced and slipped Cahill a small piece of paper, he nodded and then looked over to Jericoma, "if you'll excuse me for a moment." Cahill read the paper, and his face noticeably dropped. "Sir, I must say that your forces are currently attacking my troops. Unless you know of some way to cease their activity... I am quite certain that most, if not all of them, will be killed in legitimate self-defence. I regret to say that the situation appears to be devolving beyond your control. I would hope that you can show some control over these mobs. If you do that, then we can talk."

Jericoma looked puzzled and then thought this guy's trying to get out of an agreement. I know the boss wouldn't want to jeopordize this meeting.

He looked to Cahill, "let me see that paper, does it say anything about flags or color?" He looked as though he was ready to jump on Cahills back and strangle him, but he know that would do him no good...

The Mob continued to Push forward as numerous men dropped to the ground. The 30 that executed the painters turned and fled...they laughed and said "Those damn real Juristanians thought we were them! This is the easiest way to get rid of them, the boss was right!"

"Saud 203001! We are under heavy attack and are requesting assistance!"

The pilot looked at his co-pilot and said,

"Lets go."

They arrived on the scene and switched on their spotlight. Quickly seeing the Juristanians(they were easily distinguishble from the Red Tide soldiers), it layed down punishing and accurate fire with its 15.5 mm machinegun and anti-infantry rockets. It fired off enough fire power to kill 2 entire companies worth of soldiers(thats 240 men). As the dust cleared the soldiers moved foreward. Picking off any survivors with nightvision(which the Juristanians were garunteed to not have).

Cahill pushed his chair back and hid the paper from the man. He glanced down at the paper, "The last report from the commander on the scene was that a sniper had been able to read two things spray painted on the wall of the former city hall. The first was "Real Juristanians" and the second was the "True Juristanians." It was all done in white spray paint. There was also a report of several members of the mob being machine gunned by another segment. At that point, they apparently charged and my troops have accordingly opened fire at a direct threat to their life."

The mob had run a complete block and still was three blocks away, the ferrocious barrage of bullets did not let up one ounce, all of these men charging were to be shot dead before they could reach the vehicles.

Bodies dropped and at last the final body an old man in his 60s with nothing but a shovel in his hand fell to the ground yelling, "Real Juristanians will preva...." his head hit the pavement.

The 30 True Juristanians that had hid tipped their hats to the man, who died bravely for his homeland. They went off and reported a mission succesful.

Outside of Juristan City

Jericoma gave a look of hatred to mister cahill when he pulled the paper away. "Well then im assuming my men didn't have any red paint near by to paint over it. White is the Color of Hatred to whatever it was painted on. Used by all Golencians and Juristanians alike. Red is our color, and Blue is the color of the Real Juristanians."

His fist tightened and his nostrils flared it took a great extent to keep himself from lashing out on cahill. He calmed down a bit and looked at the man "Let the True Juristanians be and peace will be brought to your territory." He stared at the man, still in an attempt to control himself.

In Red Tide Territory

Only 1 man made it back to the True Juristanians headquarters to report what had happened. The Boss sat up, "Cowards, they use coward tactics to fight a bunch of men using hardly anything threatning, mere bats....and the cowards cant fight fair."

the man who had returned took a deep gulp.

Cahill noted the flaring nostrils. Finally, he thought, this man too can become incensed by my actions. He slowly nodded to this man. "I understand, I believe. So long as you agree to this territory now being the property of the Commonwealth, we see no reason to harass your people so long as they abide by the law and do not attack other nations from this land. If you can agree to that, than we have an agreement."

Jenkins took his finger off the trigger, and removed his helmet from his head. It was over. His comrades had survived the onslaught. Miraculously there had been no casualties; the mob had been pitifully armed with the exception of those few with AKs... who had apparently disappeared.

Either way, he had just received word that they were all pulling back, heading back to base. Rumors were swirling that there might have been an agreement reached between these riot leaders and Governor Cahill, but no official information was yet available. Jenkins could only hope. He didn't want to kill any more civilians. The wide avenue was now covered in over 600 dead bodies.
