Nuclear Defense Satallite System for anyone interested.

PIcaRDMPCia has recently set up a laser defense satallite system as a deterrant to nuclear weapons; it has been shown to have a success rate of at least 70%. Furthermore, as we of PIcaRDMPCia find nuclear warfare to be a horrible travesty, we offer an extention of this network to any nation that requests it. Reasonably, we ask that the nation requesting such nation fund the new satallites necessary to extend the network. Any nation, no matter what you may be is welcome to this network; nuclear warfare is not something that any nation should experience.

And how much would funding cost?

Funding would be based on the number of satallites required to cover your nation; the larger the nation, the more satallites you need. One satallite costs approximately 2,000,000 gils, or 285,417 US Dollars. It is so cheap mainly because of the way we construct the devices, and they are very reliable.

We wish to know how this system would apply to such tactical nuclear weapons as artillery fired ones, or nuclear mines?
As surely a satalite can only deter ICBM's.

Ok...I'm not saying you don't know but:

Alot people forget this...even though the nuke is gone the fallout remains. Does this system have anyway of getting rid of the waste?

For the mostpart the defence systems destroy the ICBMs in space therefore causing all the fallout to be in space where radiation is prevelent already therefore not causing major problems to anyone.

No no, I mean the nukes that don't travel in space.

Those would be cruise missiles, scuds,or aircraft delivered bombs most of which are no capable of carrying large payloads of nuclear material therefore making their fallout not as much, as long as they are detonated in the sky far above a nation.

You forget artillery fired nukes.
Still, can such a system STOP them?

No these missile defence systems are just that defence from ICBMS and MRBM and limited defence from SRBMs.Artillery fired nukes coulf not be stopped but again provide a small nuclear blast that would not do much damage, but any attack with artillery nukes would not last very log as they would be destroyed by aircraft or counter artillery fire.

OOC: And said aircraft will be destroyed by artillery and other aircraft. As well artillery will be destroyed by aircraft and artillery and a cycle will ensue.
All I was asking was if it effects such tactical nuclear weapons because that is all I believe to be of use.

IC: We do not believe in the use of Ballistic Missiles anyway, so unfortunatly, we have little to no use for this system.
Our entire nuclear capability and docterine rests solely upon Tactical Nuclear Weapons, for use against military targets. Such a system to prevent civillian casualties, and stop merely Stratigic Nuclear Weapons, would be a waste of our time and resources.

However, we applaud you for your effort. And we look forward to future devlopments of such ideology.
