OOC: This is for an Earth III claim. To my knowledge, no one owns the Crimea specificly. However Presgreif owns Ukraine so their attention needs to be drawn to this.

Press Conference, Eupatoria

IC: This morning, armed members of what is know as the "Crimean Liberation Front" blockaded the strait of land that links the Crimea with mainland Ukraine. In the Crimea itself meanwhile, in the newly established regional capital Eupatoria, a decloration of independence is drafted. A man comes forward and speeks to the press. His name is Victor Trimski, leader of the Crimean Socialist Soveringity league.

"Fellow Crimeans, as we speek the Crimean Liberation front has blockaded us from Ukraine. We stand now as a nation demanding soverignity. I along with many others, will stand in the next few days in an election to confirm our nation as a soverign one. . Soon the Soverign Republic of the Crimea will be born. For years our nation has bearly been Ukrainian and yet we still exist as their economic trade arm into the Black sea. No longer. We are prepared to open negotations with the Ukrainian government to establish ourselves as an independent nation in our own right. The Crimean Socialist Soveringty league, along with many other parites will stand for a free and open first past the post election. However we are not strong yet. I call to all nations to heed our call, help us in our hour of freedom need. Help us to form our nation into an independent state"

"Well sir, we wanted to request some land off of their government”

“WHAT! You want land in a land that wants independence!”

“It’s as a trade off for helping them. We request land, we help them out. Trade of assistance”

“Hmm, that seems fair, Ok I’ll ask, but I don’t know what we can expect. In the mean time prepare to land 5000 troops on the straits so that we can help them, send some aumour too, Saul?"

"I recomend 50 tanks as a show of good will, and more should they request more"

Bump (if anyone would like to oppose/support they are most welcome, at least not millitary opposition. I am waiting however for Ukraine to speek)

In the straits connecting the Crimea to the rest of Ukraine, 2500 troops of the Neo Cannite armed forces landed either sides. Instead of resistance, they met crowds shouting and chearing them in. They were waving the Neo Cannanite and New Crimean flag. They moved through the crowds and eventually Saul, comming down from the Neo Cannite flagship, the NCNV Vindicator, gave a breif speech to the crowd.

"Today, the Crimea and Cannen stand together to forge a new land. An nation crying for indepence shall today recieve it. As we speek, my troops are preparing to line up with yours along the blockade. We await Ukraineian repersnetives to discuss the terms of your nation but be asured, Crimea will be the Crimea"

As he spoke, tanks began making their landings and they mobalised to the front lines. The crowds kept chearing and the tanks kept rolling.

We, the people of the Soviet State of Hrstrovokia, have heard the brave cry for freedom from our slavic brethren, and now in their greatest hour of struggle against the domination of the Imperium, we shall not abandon them.

The Soviet State hereby recognizes the indefeasible and sole right of the Crimean people to determine their own destiny.

We also hereby recognize the Crimean Socialist Sovereignty League as the popular voice and representation of the people of Crimea, whom have in their hearts the true interests of the people.

We recognize the League's right to form a provisional government until elections can be held.

Until the moment comes when we can be sure that committing forces to the field can ensure the survival of the Crimean state and would not be counter-productive to it's integrity and to the peace, the Soviet State of Hrstrovokia pledges it's undying support to Crimean independence, and wishes to establish diplomatic rapport as soon as possible.

It so happens I actually have forces in the area (Earth III) at the moment. I'm currently Portugal as I help repulse Witzgall's invasion of Euroslavia, another member. Please note that if Presgrief does not ignore this landgrab effort, you can expect several thousand cruise missiles at anything and everything owned by you. To begin with. Until Presgrief makes a statement, your existence is unrecognised by The Ineffable Empire.
It is generally considered bad RPing, and in fact godmodding to lay claim to a nations territory without them having read a single post about it. Yes but I would start an RP with you, my point here is that its a real place, a real area and it is reasonable to expect that one day, a nationalist movement may come along and try and seperate. Presgrief hasnt responded yet, but when he does me and him will RP and hopefully we will settle this. Your idea is flawed because

a) You dont have a map of Neo Cannen, so you dont know if West Cannen is particullay isolated/shut off

b) If you did that I would RP a battle with you, Presgrief isnt RPing yet. I am waitning for him/her.

Indeed. However, you have already stated that it is your territory, which is the unacceptable part. It is Presgreif's territory, and if she decides not to go along with the idea of a rebellion there is nothing more you can do, short of invade her. I'm not saying she will ignore the idea, I'm merely saying that you cannot say her people rebelled and you took helped them separate without the go-ahead from her.

This statement, in particular the last sentence, is entirely irrelevant. capital city may have insurgents while the outlying settlements remain loyal, geographical location is not necessarily a factor in rebellion. It is up to the player behind the people to decide.

Would this be an acceptable compromise? I don't want to lose potential RP'ers in Earth III, but at the same time, I don't want any godmodding or cheating either.

Silver Turtle, I'd like a TG about your forces in Earth III, as I don't think I remember you claiming land in Earth III. I'm perfectly willing to grant you land in Earth III if you don't have any. You're welcome to Earth III.

Could you and Dimminiar also let me know if my compromise is okay? Basically I will recongize that Neo Cannen is trying to get Crimea, hence the "disputed territory" next to his name. Or should I just delete his claim outright?

P.S. please TG me if possible if you know whats happening to Presgrief in RL as he's one of my Earth III Mod's and he has been quite helpful with me.
