The Dominion of Tyraelia makes itself known to other space-faring nations.

The Ambassador was excited. His eyes continually moved from left to right, making sure all was absolutely perfect in the recording studio.

Today was the day. The day that Tyraelia revealed itself to the rest of the universe, whether it be for good, or for ill. The beauteous world of Tyrael Aethar shined like a wondrous jewel, spinning on its ceaseless orbit around the sun.

The broadcasting studio was ready, and 5 AI-controlled robots, 5 aliens composed of thousands of tendrils, and 5 humans stepped out onto the large stage. They spoke in unison, all voices clear and strong. "We are the representatives of Tyraelia, a nation which has just developed the ability to travel faster-than-light. We wish to offer peace to any nation which may choose to take peace with us, and trade with any who are friendly to us.

We wish for ambassadors to come to our planet, and, even now, a large stargate is being constructed to allowed free travel to and from Tyraelia.

comms from Hive Fleet @ Tyraelia:
*A deep rasping voice similar to that of the overmind in starcraft began to speak*
WE ARE THE HIVE, WE ARE PERFECTION. We extend our hands to welcome you into the fold.
We are the hive, We welcome you to us.

*At the edge of the system a 40 meter long bio-vessel similar in appearance to a cuttle fish emerged from a warp hole accompanied by 3 royal guard ships - these each also organic and 100 meters long - their black diamond titanium alloy carapace shimmering in the light from the local star. Picking the signal up they identified the correct planet and began to move at a slow pace towards them.*

~Electronic Communication to Tyraelia~
While we always enjoy welcomming new nations to the galactic community, you should be aware that many of us out here are xenophobic in at least a small degree. Try not to get on the bad sides of any other empires until you are much bigger.
Oh, be wary of intergalactic communications. A few years ago we had some mejnot spamming the galactic community with threats of conquering everything.
One final thing: Be wary of of the region you cannot seem to make maps of, no matter what you try. It's extremely dangerous.

An Large ship heard the transmission and dropped out of warp near the system.
The ship was one of the largest in StarFleet http://spock1.homepage.dk/1701d22.jpg
Grey and graceful, with an pleasing blue glow and bright running lights the ship looked quite peaceful.

The Captain opened an Channel to the nearby planet, they HAD to have picked them up, and see the immpressive systems on the ship.

" This is captain Wells of the ECF Galaxy, We have heard your message. We have peaceful intentions. We wish to send an ambassafor down as quickly as possible. And if your interested in a mobile FTL drive system, just scan my ship "

OOC: Tyraelia is a country with strong psychic powers, mainly relating to the control of the mind, and the regulation of the body. Tyraelians developed themselves so they could go without food foor years on end, and without water for weeks. They made their bodies tougher, more energy efficient, and more powerful. Of course, this comes at a price. The price was ambition. They only created the stargate after the miniscule planet they lived on became hopelessly overcrowded. The Dominion of Tyrael now controls 17 planets, 2 of which it inhabits. 13 are used for mining, 2 for research.

IC:

Reply to East Coast Federation: We are already in possession of a mobile FTL drive, although the advantages of a stargate are endless, which is why we use such a device. We thank you for your offer, and wish to offer you a beacon with which to transport yourselves to and from our systems to yours.

Reply to Demon Lord Enigma: Many thanks. We wish you good luck, and hope that you will choose to trade with us.

Reply to Hive Fleet Imodus: We do not accept your offer to join with you. We feel that such a enterprise would diminish our value, and that we would also lose our induviduality, Please leave our system at once, or otherwise we shall be forced to activate the PsiGun,and destroy whatever fleets you may bring against us utterly.

OOC: Think Psi Storm from Starcraft. Think a beam of it, which spreads, and destroys and organic matter easily, and metals not so. Of course, it has hundreds of drawbacks, but while inside Tyreal, most of those don't apply. (Note: Not weapon of mass destruction, weapon pf mass protection. Only works in home system, puts all citizens involved into 6-20 hour coma. Minimum 2 million citizens)

OOC: That's a massive number of planets for such a small nation. You might want to write some background script on that, or people will bitch. Unjustly, probably, but they will. Please remember you don't have uber "I DESTROY ALL YA FLEETS HUZZAH!" type weapons, and you'll do fine.

IC:

As head of the Xenonian Protectorate's Scientific (And therefore Space Programs), I, Dr Johannes Ailbek, officially welcome the Dominion of Tyraelia to the cold void of Space. We ourselves as a nation have Space Capacity, and are building a flet of Destroyers to exploit this. We hope for many useful discussions about the merits of ... whatever. We would enjoy being introduced to your level of technology.

Your recent innovation with Faster than Light travel has not one unnoticed. In the great days of our original empire, we possessed such technology on massive fleets of Capital ships. With our new beginning, we seek to replicate this progress once more. Your friendship would be valued immensly.

Regards.

OOC: Is it ok if I get involved in this? If not, then ignore the post.

IC:

A small, exploration crusier drifts across space. It is filled with scientists, soldiers, and 3 navigators. They carry on with their work as usual. Then, something surpising catches a scientist's eye.

"Sir, we have detected an anomally..." ,says one scientist.

"What is it?" ,replies the navigator. "Is it something worthwhile?"

"I'd say it is sir...take a look."

The scientist takes him to a computer terminal. He then logs on to the current project. At once a screen, filled with spiked graphs appear.

"So...what is the anomally, sir?" ,says the navigator.

"The screen is picking up a pattern of electromagnetic signals at this end of the quadrant...I suspect its not static. Its very distinguishable...perhaps its intelligent life."

"Could it be? Since we haven't picked up anything recently, lets go check it out." ,replies the navigator.

The ship begins moving, slowly, but steadily moving to the uncharted region. The pattern becomes more distinct as the ship treks closer the unidentified system. Then, at once, the computer identifies the signal as a transmittion and begins converting it.

The scientists look up at the converted signal. They see the message displayed. At once the leader of the expedition acknowledges the Tyraelian's message. The expedition has sent a scientist as an embassador to the planet of Tyraelia. Meanwhile, the leader quickly notified the central republic of the intiguing find.

hive comms @ Aggresor nation:
*The image of a beautiful female appeared on holo screens open for all to view*
We are the hive, we are perfection, your aggresion towards us is unjustified and as such shall be delt with swiftly and with little concern - consider your system marked for harvest. It is such a pity that you fail to welcome us with open arms. As such consider your leap into space travel short lived!
We are the hive, we are perfection.

The biovessles scatterd before welljumping deeper into the system vanishing for a split second they reappeard in high orbit around the most populated planet - the royal guard spiraled around the central cuttle fish vessel. Inside displacement carriors where prepared filled with synaptic harvesters.

From the opposite side of the system a moon sized organic ship appeared - however this was no normal hive ship it was a cyborg as such - it was a Zealot Queen - home to the Zealot humans, those who had bowed down to the hive and treated it as a god instead of being harvested. This gigantic vessel sped towards the core of the system using the star's shadow to cover its movements.

"We are the hive, we are perfection. You are permitted one last chance of reprisal - revoke your heanous actions and you shall be spared.
We are the hive, we welcome you to us."

ooc> Can you say oops? you went agro on a hive fleet that started with a neutral message.
Tyraelia
28-12-2004, 01:03
OOC: Can YOU say oops? You offered to assilmate our entire race. And you thought we would take it kindly. Also, you made one tiny fundamental mistake. Although my PsyGun has a lot of limitations, such as range, orbiting the planet was a reaaaaaaaaaaaallllllyyyyy bad idea. Even though I'm a 5-mil nation, and some may call godmod, I prefer to think of godmodding as being an unstoppable attack from and older nation. Hence the PsyGun. It gives me the ability to protect myself, and therefore is not a godmod. (Just letting all you GODMOD cryers out there know this)

IC: The Grand Chancellor swore. "Damned hive creatures. They think they can 'harvest' us, eh? We'll see about that."

A huge crater upon the surface of the planet was filled with crackling blue, purple, and black energies. It took the form of a huge ball, the colors remaining induvidual as they ripped around each other.

The Grand Chancellor spoke once more into the transmitter." I now advise any and all friendly races to leave the system. I repeat, leave the system! The PsyGun'll play hell with your sensor systems and shields otherwise.

The energies began to mount into space, all three colors forming a great spiral as they went.

Also, on the other areas of the surface, planetary defense guns were prepared, huge cannons readied to attack, and shuttles carried worried tourists and traders offplanet to their ships...

Although the Hive was more advanced, more powerful, and the Dominion was a small, weak nation, the Dominion knew it could win this. They were on their home planet, one they had fortified, built up, and prepared for battle for milennia. They knew they would lose any open space battles, but a siege, they were prepared for.

OOC: I have 2 questions
A ) Your 'harvesting', what exactly is involved?

B ) You magically brought a huge, moon-sized ship to my planet, a few hours after you received my message. How is this possible?

The Captain ordered an open channel “Please! Let’s not resort to violence here. I think this was a misunderstanding! We should not try to destroy each other. I highly suggest you two stop bickering, the last thing I need is an entire race destroyed.

Go ahead destroy each other and this ship! Because Starfleet will be on your ass like a jack rabbit on crack!

The Grand Chancellor, his body aflame with the blue human psi power that ran through his veins at the moment, concentrated with supreme effort, and stopped the firing. He said "Very well. We shall spare the ones who would destroy us and commit genocide upon our species. Now what? Are we to let them walk away from here unscathed, knowing the location of our planet, and waiting for them to bring a larger fleet? I advise that they stop their machinations immediately, or we will be forced to unleash our power. "

Saying so, he stalked off, attempting to bring a full Council of Tyrael to order.

ooc> I am a future tech nation - a moon sized ship is pritty standard for my fleet. Also welljumping means i can get into your system really fast- the Zealot queen is still on the oposite side of your local star to your homeworld.
The smaller ships can simply well jump into highorbit/

Harvesting essentially means your entire population becomes part of mine and i strip your system dry - this wasnt going to happen untill you essentiall declaired war upon me, also i have 5 nations worth of human slaves and as such HFI population is pure military. I need resources? i strip a system thats how the hive works.

ic> The Cuttle fishtransport vessel slammed through the atmosphere as the royal guard pealed off engaging ground AA guns firing huge balls of plasma at the cannons. Lasor fire simply refracting off their shimmering carapace as they weaved around the slower moving projectile weaponry.
Meanwhile the Cuttlefish transport vessel buzzed a high population density city spewing synaptic harvesters out from behind it - releasing approximatly 400,000 into the air they locked onto living targets running for cover and moved close to the sound barrier hunting them down - spiraling around corners and smashing through doors in search of their prey.

The cuttle fish transport vessel weaved between the flak comming from the ground before setting down on the outskirts near a large weapon's battery. From inside the vessel 200 gaunts emerged and skitterd towards the battery moving at speeds over 150mph An avatar also emerged her right arm transformed into a plasma cannon she began raining firey death upon her foe's.

In space the Zealot Queen Simply ignored the small federation ship, it was similar in design to TFU's ships however it was not a TFU vessel and so it was considerd a neutrality the Zealot queen began to prep the launch of her first fighter wave.

ic> Synaptic harvesters: Small bullet sized orbs that mercilessly hunt down a living organism as dictated by the hive, they will not stop until they are dead or have struck their target. The slam into the target focusing on a high nerve density area before moving up to the centra nervous system of their prey - there they use the organisms body heat to grow into a hive node linking the target to the hive. Once the prey has been hit they fall into unconciousness in seconds due to the paralitic nature of the harvesters entrance. After 30 seconds the node is almost fully developed and the prey begins to awaken after 1 minute not only is the prey under the total control of the hive but all its memories are also known by the hive.

Gaunts: Hormagaunts in this case however with a few modifications, acidicblood and glue sprey. If their targets attempt to run they fire a sticky substance similar in design to contact glue that will hold their prey fast until they reach their target. They also have the titanium diamond alloy carapce to protect them from small lasor fire.

Avatar: A naked woman walking among the hive she is essentially the new terminator with the ability to transform into what ever she deams to be a nessesity at the time, she has various containment feilds to transport various chemicals into battle before unleashing them in a fine mist. She also has a synaptic harvester compartment containing 13 that can be released as one or as deamed nessacary. She is also capable of remote detonating any member of the hive by causing a massive build up of incompatible enzymes and chemicals inside the creature causing it to explode - in humans this effect is limited to a build up of gas over 2 minuetes before the subject explodes violently igniting the methane by the small trace platinum that is collected into one location. In hive creatures the effect is much more spectacular and can cause a detonation several city blocks across from a creature the size of an average dog spraying the area in a highly caustick Zwitter acid.alkali - this means it will react with everything possible and cause massive corrosive damage.

The captain was quite pleased " Do it, we still have that huge ass thing to worry about, we need to bring in some more firepower and it should be here soon, engage the phase cloak, I want to keep a low profile until the fleet arrives"

**********
The captain decided it was time to intensify diplomatic protocols “Reed lock onto that transport and destroy it before it can get to the surface!"

The officer seemed more than happy to comply “Locking Phasers on Target, firing now"

A volley of phaser energy flew towards the tiny transport vessel and impacted it, no one knew what would happen, but it was highly doubtful it with stand a 100% blast from a Battle cruiser.

The captain seemed more than pleased " Lets see what that little shit will put now with his transport disabled, Engage the phase cloak and hide inside the planet, And Call the Fleet, they are going to be pissed!" The captain looked worried; maybe attacking it was a bad idea.

The Relentlass, a Temporal Battleship had been dispatched on a diplomatic mission to seek out Tyraelia. Whilst still being armed with the best technology in the Siesatian Armada, she was a relatively good looking vessel. Sleek, with a blade-like bow. She had been ordered to approach uncloaked, but with the first layer shields up.

Upon arriving, they saw two large ships engaging in some sort of conflict. Raising shields, and powering up her weapons, they began sending out hails. To the two vessels, and Tyraelia.

Hmmmm.....let me think.... a moon sized ship is pretty standard...? Hmmm. Amazing as it may sound, being in FT does not enable you to have insanely powerful ships for nothing. IGNORED

The Cuttle fishtransport vessel slammed through the atmosphere as the royal guard pealed off engaging ground AA guns firing huge balls of plasma at the cannons. Lasor fire simply refracting off their shimmering carapace as they weaved around the slower moving projectile weaponry.

Hmmmm.... I have a defense system built into every bit of my planet, laser, psi, kinetic., chem, I have damn near every defense system every IMAGINED. Firstly. The PsyGun would rip your ships apart before they had a chance to get 1/10 of the way into the atmosphere, the chemical weapons are DESIGNED to take out bio ships, the laser don't bounce , as a laser's main attack is composed of heat, which would be burning through your protective carapaces. Also, my population live underground, meaning there would be no high-population areas you could target. Hmmm... RPing my people is godmodding, as is 'magically' evading my attacks and not giving me a chance to respond. Who needs seph?

Harvesting essentially means your entire population becomes part of mine and i strip your system dry - this wasnt going to happen untill you essentiall declaired war upon me, also i have 5 nations worth of human slaves and as such HFI population is pure military. From inside the vessel 200 gaunts emerged and skitterd towards the battery moving at speeds over 150mph An avatar also emerged her right arm transformed into a plasma cannon she began raining firey death upon her foe's.

Why do you think I am a MT nation? I am not. If you read the title, it says
' The Dominion of Tyraelia makes itself known to OTHER space-faring nations'

Read the 'other' bit there. I even put it in caps for you. My nation is a FT nation, and have one REALLY special weapon for godmodders like you. the I.G.N.O.R.E cannon.

Also, your people are moving at.......150mph? My cannons have high-speed propulsion systems that let them move at....mach 7? I find it amazing that you refuse to take damage from a planet that is basically a defense system, more so that you refuse to take damage with...... 4, 5 ships? Although I have not been put in direct opposition to such a horrible godmodder before, I realise now why NS 2 will be a paying game. To get the damned godmodders and techwankers out of the NS system.

IC: The huge PsyGun switched the second, more deadly mode. Every single citizen focused their minds intensely on what was about to happen. A huge, momumental blast of pure white psychic energy ripped through all of space, leaving all nations other than HFI and his puppets untouched. As the light faded, the hive ships were no longer there. And, spelled out in brilliant white fire in the sky, was the word... IGNORED! All was peaceful on Tyraelia. The Siesatians, the ECF's, and all others who wished to enter Tyraelian space peacefully were welcomed.

you guys really need to learn to read. the large moon sized ship - the one Eastcoast put themselfs between is on the OTHER SIDE OF THE STAR from this planet. You said you sent a landing craft towards the planet, and I shot it down! Whats new?
And I highly doubt that a transport could withstand a 100% shoot from an Battlecrsuier, theres no way that transport could withstand that. I dont need to start technobablying, Don't give me " 5.1 megawatts for ST ships " because I tend to ignore that, I hate techobable. Plus my ships are way more powerful than that.
And the only thing I did was shoot down your transport. And phase cloaked and his inside the planet.

And being millions of miles away? My ship would know it's there, My sensor range is about 20 lightyears. So my ship would already have High Res scans of it.

And let him have his 150mph troops, Now that I know this guy lives underground orbital bombardment would be a nice option.
And even if your transport got past my ship, which I highly doubt. Hows it gonna get past this guys defenses.

Fine unleash toxins on me - i would like their structural makeup so i know if they work or not.

THINK BEFORE YOU ACT AND LEARN TO READ.
Consider me out of this thread but for god's sake LEARN TO BL**DY READ!

Erm.... i think it is YOU who needs to learn to read. Not me and ECF. Firstly, you completely ignored my entire planetary defense system's attack on one transport, and said 'lasor refraction', and 'weaved around the enemy fire'. That is godmodding, no matter what pretty words you couch it in.

Also, being an flamer and calling me a 'retard' doesn't help things. In fact, I believe it only lowers your already (very) questionable reputation.

Now, for the lasers. The fact that I don't know how lasers work doesn't disqualify me for FT RP. FT RP is exactly that. An RP!! It isn't a techwank convention, where you go 'MY SHIELDZZ PWN UR LASORS!!111' It's a role-play, in which both parties take damage to an extent usually agreed on, and don't need the chemical statistics of the acid I use. (Did I ask for stats of your every little ship and weapon?)

Erm.... I was not complaining at your ground troops moving 150mph, just commenting that my gauss guns fire at mach 7, letting them hit your transport with ease.

We can read. We simply choose to ignore your godmodding and techwanking. Sorry if this comes as a surprise to you. Maybe you should get a RPing tutor, in order to learn to RP better.

Sorry about the delay in reply. We were having a communication problem due to ion storms. They are an eternal plague where we are.
Due to the distance to your world, at most we can offer 100 tons of raw material. What we mostly sell is metals and minerals. I would offer more, but we can't risk losing more than that.
Please let me know if you are interested.

The Psyrrohan (One of the two alien races that live on Tyraelian) gave a strange quiver. Its voice echoed through the diplomats mind, sounding eerie, and ghostlike. "We are pleased to accept a gift from your most benevolent nation. However, We ask that one of you may help us fashion storage for it, as it is most valuable, and needs to be protected." The Psyrrohan then shimmered, and was gone a moment. Just as suddenly, he returned, carrying an equally ornately carved weapon, however, this weapon had four heads, all shaped like the head of a serpent. Its sides were glowing blue and red stripes, delicately intertwined. The Psyrrohan spoke once more "We wish to offer you this PsiLance, one of the most ancient and pussiant weapons of our people. Although we are not sure of your psychic capability, it is thought that the servants of Chaos must need have psychic abilities in order to communicate with their demon masters, and gain their support. The PsiLance focuses the psychic power of the user into a thin funnel, and then projects it, magnified one-hundred fold. It can be used to dominate minds, control object, and obliterate other beings with startling accuracy. This particular PsiLance, made by the Magnifiki, was one of the 5 PsiLances made to service a Chaos mind.

Of course, it cannot funnel such powers as those of a true daemon prince or Greater Daemon, but it can certainly magnify the powers of a Daemon Lord of less.

Saying so, the Psyrrohan gracefully swept away, leaving a final psychic message. "Feel free to come to the grand party we are holding for foreign diplomats, in 27.8921 standard hours.

The Ankhmeti Diplomat, a Space Marine librarian relatively untouched outwardly by chaos, but internally twisted and burned up by the God Tzeench picked up the PsiLance, and grinned.
"Truly wondrous onstruction. The Imperium has not seen innovation like this in a long time, over 100 years. All of our technology was gained 150 years ago, in the finding of a databank containing all the technology of the Imperium of mankind, and we haven't had many innovations like this since.Truly wondrous."
The Marine bowed.
"Be careful with that bolter.NEVER point it at a person for too long.In the hand of one not gifted with Chaos, our bolters tend to fire on their own.I suggest you keep it in a vault, seperated from the cartridge until the casing is finished.Do not worry, there is no round chambered."

01-01-2005, 11:55
A Ghargonian warship emerged from a black hole just within visual range of the 'mess', as they had dubbed it. The ship came to a halt and scanned the various vessels a few times. It hung peacefully in space, peeking at them.

"One recognisable energy signature," the tactical officer called to the Captain.

"Friend or foe?"

"Neither, Captain," the officer said. "The others are unknown to the Imperium."

"What are they doing?" the captain asked.

"Only Krak knows..." the officer muttered. "As I said, it's a mess, sir. Nothing of interest to us though."

"Maintenance, recharge the generator," the captain said. "Initiate a broadband transmission in that general direction, Lieutenant."

"Yes, Captain," the officer nodded. "Ready."

"This is Captain Krais of the GMS Pentak," he said. "The Imperium bids you all good day and sends its peaceful greetings."

He slashed the air, and the lieutenant nodded.

"Maintenance, are we ready to depart?"

"Yes sir," a voice said through the speakers. "Full power at your disposal."

"Excellent," the captain said, rubbing his clawed hands together. "Continue on then, navigator. Next patrol waypoint."

"Aye, sir," another officer said, pressing buttons on the red panel.

The large ship slowly turned in space, another black hole forming behind it. By the time it had completed a turn, the hole was large enough to engulf it. It pushed forwards, disappearing into the hole. Once it was through, the hole shrank back into nothingness.
Lessr Tsurani

The Emperor sat in his office late at night. He had already used his powers to slow time in his room, and now he was reading the days reports. He smiled as he watched the conduct of his power hum away, the thing doing the task he would otherwise have to spend all his energy on. He read one report that interested him. So a new nation had emerged? He smiled, for a second lowered the feild.

"Please send a diplomat to the nation of Tyraelia" He said in a sof calculating voice. "I belive on the trip he should shift to........a lyrinx form, that should make them think twice before attacking us." He smiled, well knowing the effect a Lyrinx form could have on many humans. He shrugged, then reactivated his feild, thinking of the EverQueen as he did.

The Diplomat went into the dark storage of the ship, intending to spend time flesh forming his body to the more imposing of the racial aspects. Delawere looked down at the man, at 13 foot tall, he had grown unusally high for an elf, but once again flesh forming had taken a part. He felt strange around Illetrians, who spent years trying to find the right shape for them. He shrugged as he madehis message.

-Dear people of Tyraelia
We of the Tsurani empire are sending a ambassotor ((He said using the correct term for Tsurani)) to your nation. Please be aware of his apperance. He might be a bit....Imposing, but he will not harm you. Please expect a large amount of AI activaty in the next five minutes. Thank you.
Delawere, High Commander of the White Guard-

In the rift The Diplomat slowly changed his form. While in the normal universe he would only be five minutes, in the rift it would be as long as He wanted. He travled alone, ISCS making sure the ships functions where all working. He looked at the gift, a Black Robe, which he did not understand. Still, the Emperor had his reasons, the Tyraelia would recive instructions on how to use it when they touched it.

Back in the normal universe, the ship arrived. It had been mearly five second since he had left, but it had felt like five months. He sighed, the new body parts had healed, mostly, but he was still tender from the slow shape shifting. He smiled as the ship came gliding through space, waiting the order to land.

The scannerd, situated onworld, picked up a new object, coming in a fast speed towards Tyraelia. "Commander, please prepare the planetary defense cannons", said the High Chancellor. "we may have another Hive situation on our hands."
As the cannons powered up, the High Chancellor sent out a message to the Tsurani ship. "Greetings, and welcome to the fair land of Tyraelia. If you are here with good intentions, please power down all weapons, and other defensive measures that you may have in place, as a measure of goodwill. Obviously, this does not include measures required to land. We shall do likewise. If you do not power down weapons and non-essential shielding systems, we shall have to open fire. (OOC: Tyraelia's a little tight, after the HFI 'attack')

The High Chancellor sat down, and awaited a reply.

The Lesser Chancellor smiled warmly at the Adeptus Hereticus Machinus diplomat, and said "Indeed. A room has already been set aside, reinforced with psi shielding, to protect the minds of our psychics against the chaotic influence it may have. I think we shall have much to discuss, our two nations, for we are two of the few wielders of true psychic power in most of known space."

At the edge of the System, a ship appeared. What made this ship unusual from all the rest, was that this ship looked like a giant metal snake, with arms and blade like talons attached to those arms. The other curious thing to note was that it actually slithered like a snake as it moved. Much like a tattoo, the words S.S. Weatherlight appeared. Moving towards the source of the broadcasts, the ship beamed a message back directly to the source, hissed fluently in the same language as the origanel broadcast message.

"Welcome to Space. Word has reached The Queen Sliver and thus we are here to welcome you. We promise no harm if no harm is given, our weapons are offfline as are our sheilds. We wish permission to visit, in person."

With that, the green glow of the ship slowly turned white, as though it were a peace sign. The Two Talons folded over each other in the only known sign of peace.

Target.

The Dominion of Tyraelia.

Firstly, I am fairly sure you were aware of our previous transmission. It seems you as a people, have had to handle some difficult times, and have handled them with flair. Before anything else, I beg pardon that this message was so late in coming - We Xenonians are preparing for a launch of our own Space fleet, so I hadn't the time to attend to diplomatic matters. nevertheless, your performance so allowed me the indulgence.

Futhermore, I have an unsual request to make of you, howver, it is one I do believe that will benefit you.

In our more glorious years, the Xenonian Protectore was host to a growing cadre of psychically gifted humans, the gene pool slowly evolving into something, shall we say ... more than Human. However, every living Xenonian, bar myself, was annihilated in the final battle of our great war. Only embryos, in stasis to prevent the complete annihilation of our people in such an event, survived and proved able to form our nation as it is now. As such, the gene pool has taken some time to recover - but it seems our Psychic abilities are on the comeback. We have been using them to subtly augument our own natural abilities, in a manner not unlike the Bene Gisserit in the novels about Dune, (An ancient novel I have a soft spot for). As such, this affects our technology.

To cut a long story short, we want to conduct a series of weapons tests with your Psi Gun, firing at several capital ships in our (To be released) fleet. We wish to test and perfect our shields against this form of attack, and compare the psionic mutations, ther effects and whatnot, and have yet to find a better oppurtunity than we have now. If you would be willing to participate in these tests, we would be happy to share the findings, helping you to improve both your Psionic Weaponry, and shielding (We will share all techincal data on our shields if you so wish).

It's been a long time since I found a Psionic, space faring, relatively small and peaceful nation. I would ask, that even if our request for testing is denied, that we forge a strong alliance. With your powers, you can certainly work out whether we are sincere on our offers or not.

Whether you agree to weapons testing or not, Three Miak Class Destroyers will be sent to convey a diplomatic party. If you do not wish to have these ships enter your star system, please notify me quickly.

Perhaps our three races could work together to establish a tripartite research station on another planet? Xenonier has the manpower and tools to guard it, as well as the detailed records of Human Evolution. Tyraelia has the most evolved Psychic gene. You have the emerging precedence of Psychically gifted Humans.

That is, of course, if Tyraelia accepts.

The Psyker Commander smiled beautifically. Three whole psychic races, his to study, explore, and learn about in all ways. His mind easily supplanted the Chancellor's, in the Chancellor's own body. As he was the most powerful psychic being in the Dominion, his abilities were outstanding, and capable of many things.

Speaking a monotonous psychic voice, he began to compose his message to the ships....

To Warhaven: We thank you for the consideration of our requests, and have secured a landing spot. Please land at the location now know to your mind(s).

To Xenonier: The Bene Gesserit? Indeed, that is a quite popular piece of fiction/fact/unknown in our nation. (OOC: Where /s are, it is a broadcast of all three words at once, conveying a feeling, more than a thought) We also use our psychic powers to augment our natural ones, although I am quite sad to say, that humanity within the Tyraelian Dominion is dying out at a rapid rate, due to a disease that somehow disables psychic ability, and thereafter the humans have no wish to live.

Also, the PsyGun cannot be moved. It is an ancient piece of technology, combined with organic materials, and is near reaching the end of its lifespan. However, if you wish to inspect it, feel welcome. The new PsyGun is nearly complete, with only 7 years until it is built. (The Old PsyGun has 8 years left in its lifespan)

Also, I, have a request to make of you. Though we like it or not, our psychic abilities are more and more tending towards latencies, away from operancy. To sum up the matter, we are regressing, as opposed to evolving. Once, our three races (Tyraelian races) had achieved full operant status. However, we are more and more relying on devices to augment our minds, not our natural talent. Although one race is growing stronger in its operancy, it is the very race which is afflicted with the malodious disease. Humanity. I wish for either you or the Ankhmetians to gift me of a rather large favor. Simply put, I wish for you to bombard 3 points on our planet with at least fission explosives, destroying the 2 major factories and 1 stockpile of psychic augmentations. Although this will temporarily put our race back into the Old Ages (21th century AD), it will inevitably save us from extinction.

Considering the fact that our planet has no available weapons for us to use (The automated defenses are sacred to us, as they protected us from Earth in our early days), and all physical citizen activity is monitored... I can do nothing. Simply grant me this one request. Get an unidentifieable, automated ship to bomb the three points with five years. Otherwise, my sweet nation, that I love so dearly... Will be.... (pause of horror)... annihilated, by our own laziness and stupidity...

I projected as such. although few know it, my own mind was permanently intergrated with that of a Computer in the time of our great fall. After analysing the wreckage of the Hive Fleet Imodious ship, and after I tried my hand at "Convincing" one of their people to provide us with information, it was revealed they knew of this fact. Ironic, is it not? They knew, and they were playing on your weaknessess.

Nevertheless, we shall see what we can do, . Projections indicate that a volley of Quantum Torpedoes should be enough - if your people lack the focus to prevent their own extinction, they will never discover the attackers.

Deep inside his own mind, Arkady Gregorovich continued to run over second, third, fourth, fifth, a seemingly limitless river of probablities at the worrying request. His instinct and finely honed mind screamed warnings, and his heart had to concede.

I will keep a close eye on this venture, he swore to himself.

Miak Three reporting in. Sir, I'll defer to your expierience on this matter, buy I crave an answer - how can we hope to overcome the defenses of a planet should, and I stress should they open fire, or anything of the sort?

We don't, Three. Believe me, if these people open fire on us, they'll have a Dreadnaught to discuss with. One shot from it's Quantum Array and this system with be little more than fused slag and dust

Okay sir. We'll begin decending when we recieve confirmation our plans are accepted. A spread of Quantum Torpedoes, sir?

Yes. We can't risk Quantum cannons, they could open a hole in the planet's core. Too risky. In the meantime, launch Raptrs for cover and ...

The Psyker Commander moved sibiliantly, slowly, into the main Tyraelian sensor array. He had picked a psychic augmentation system earlier. Normally he didn't condone the use of them, but he realized that he would have to, if he were to enter the station. He also picked a MindStas suit (preventing farsensors to find him, and weak psychokinetic blasts to harm him), and used his power to alter the air around him, creating the illusion of empty air. It was hard work, maintaining a moving illusion, and occasionally he made a mistake. However, he managed to reach the set of doors without incident.

He focused a small amount of his power into mind-blasting needles, transforming the two elite guards on guard into raving idiots. They would recover in a few days, but, by then, he would be long gone.

He used his PK (Psychokinesis) to sever one of the guard's arm, and also took his ID card. Using these, he opened the main doors into the sensor array control system.

He let the illusion drop, and pulled out the twin dart-firing pistols he had hidden beneath his long, black robe. Looking around, he saw two scientists or hard at work on computers, continually checking the sensor input, and modifying things wrong with the older arrays.

He fired the pistols, the twin darts flying towards two different targets with a near-frightening accuracy. The darts found their targets, and the scientists dropped onto the floor, near-dead.

The Commander heard a footfall behind him. He whirled around, and saw the Inquisitor, inspector of all Tyraelians for treason against the Dominion, instigator of all justice, most respected Tyraelian alive, and the most physically powerful. The Inquisitor was a Kilaean, the ancient race native to New Tyraelia. Although they were almost extinct, they had high resistance to psychic powers, the strength to rip a man in half with their bare hands, and the resilience of titanium. No living being had ever killed one in a one-on-one combat..

The Inquisitor spoke. "I know what you are doing. It is incorrect. Killing our people may restore their powers, but have you considered; is it obligatory to do so. They can survive without their powers, and be none the worse for it.

The Commander spoke back, his face a mask of perfect calm "It is you who are incorrect. Without the restoring of our psychic powers, the genetic makeup which forms the two Sister Races (the two non-human, Exodus races) will slowly fail. Within 500 years, we will be extinct. And with the virus that targets the humans on our planet... they too will be extinct (Tyraelian Humans) with 120 years. I am not willing to stand by and let our entire hard-won civilization fall into ashes as I watch vainly by. No, I will perhaps destroy a little of it, but in the name of the greater good. Get out of my way.

The Inquisitor's lips, such as they were, curved upwards into a small smile.
Without another word, he pulled out the large scimitar the hung at his belt, and beckoned the Commander to him.

The Commander didn't even bother with a weapon, he simply spoke a single word. "Narsilia". Behind the Inquisitor, the world exploded. A huge blast of titanic dimensions was headed towards him, enough to engulf the entire building, trapped in this corridoor. As he turned and gaped, the door slid slowly shut behind him. He was trapped, with only the one way out....Towards the fire...

The Commander smiled, and walked onwards. He pulled out a large, explosive mine, and set it on the main computer. This mine had enough power to obliterate all the computers, but, since the facility was hidden and sealed, the explosion would never be read on the system.

He D-Jumped, teleporting to his private transmitter, knowing that the sensors couldn't read what he was saying, and the emergency sensor system would take several hours to reactivate.

He flicked a switch, and then spoke into the ansible. "Xenonian forces, I have destroyed the main Tyraelian sensor systems. Get in, deliver the payload, and get out, all within 4 hours and 57 minutes to avoid suspicion. Land diplomatic craft within timeframe that I will send you through Chancellor's ansible. Avoid suspicion at all costs. Pskyer Commander Ei'lithbrei. Do not answer me, as comm monitoring systems should be coming back online any minute now.

Arkady Gregorovich was an unsual man. His history would explain this, but even before the events that had seared his name into history, he was an oddball, a pariah - the lone ranger, of sorts. Often known to spend much of his time in deep contemplation, he often took Raptr Interceptor's in flights deep into space. Leaving himself to comtemplate - a place he could really think.

As such, it was nobody's surprise, nor worry when, less than hours after he had received unaminous support by the Xenonian people for the military strike, and his own plans beforehand, that he took yet another small Raptr Interceptor, and left the boundaries of Xenonian space.

His mission this time, was not that of Contemplation. His excruiatinglly long analysis, twinned with the spirit ... (soul?) of an ancient, sentient computer network had already guessed the Tyraelian was lying. The voice stress analysis, muscle movement patterns, static energy buildups unnoticiable to anything other than his implants all suggested a heightened degree of mental energy influx - as if he was using his psychic powers even as Arkady spoke to him.

Such a man was not to be trusted without further data.

Within the day, the Raptr dropped out of it's faster than light travel course, and decellerated into the Tyraelian system. The distance should have been crossed in an instant, but no chances could be taken.

Arkady Gregorovich would board one of the Miaks. As they moved into position for bombardment, scanners and targeting arrays would be shot downwards, into the Tyraelian planet. They would quickly reassemble themselves, becoming organic structures - those of Hive Fleet Imodius. The blame would fall on Tyraleia's foe.

Due to the sudden change of circumstances, however, another capsule would be launched, containing a very special cargo. Despite the considerable powers the Tyraelians, and their commander had shown, this would be something completely new for them.

Arkady knew the commander was a murderous creature, obsessed with his own goals and the sacrifices that suggested. The day long assault of The Hive fleet had given him this essential infromation. However, the man was also said to be reliant on his psychic powers.

Arkady smiled grimly, even as his ship began docking prodecures.

A veritable weakness, it seems. My dear Psyker Commander Ei'lithbrei, we shall soon see what you have planned. Only then shall Xenonier decide upon the nessecary course of action. If you are what you say, we shall fufill our word. Should you turn upon us, or backstab my people ... we will crush you entirely.

And should you try to stop me ... well ... I did say I would defend myself.

Meanwhile, several other shapes entered the system. Sleek, vessels, they bristiled with firepower. Moving quickly, they found the blindside of an nearby lifeless planetoid. The fleet seemed to be composed of eleven vessels, of which ten had near identical sillhoulettes to the Miaks already in the system. The final shape, however, was much larger.

Meanwhile, the Xenonian Destroyers, with their leader docked, continued their slow course, shields overlapping and completely invisible to the remaining Tyraelian sensors. They would take up orbit over the planet in less than an hour.

OOC: Tyraelia, is there are hidden agenda on Ei'lithbrei's mind?
Tyraelia
16-01-2005, 14:36
OOC: No, apart from the fact he's mildly insane. He's an extremely long-lived being, and has seen his people's dependancy upon machines. Of course, it doesnt occur to him that machines could be used to develop a latent psychic to full operancy, nor does it occur that his people are relying on their psyches less because they dont actually have to, not because their lazy. Oh, and he wants to rule the universe. Can't forget that.

IC: the Psyker Commander swore. He had got the sensors down, but the fools weren't moving into position. He had recently killed a number of medium-ranking government officials, and this had thrown the government into disarray. If only the Xenonians would move, allowing him to wrest control of the government and bring Tyraelia into a bright new operant future. However, nothing was happening. If they didn't move with 6 hours, the reserve fleets from Elix Tyra would be brought up, and the enemy ships would be scanned. At this point, the PsyGun could be fired, and he'd lose his chance.........

Meanwhile, the reserve fleets at Elix Tyra had received thier pre-battle scan and repairs. They were ready to go to the homeworld.

Fleet Numbers:

144 Elixia Tyra Deep - Space fighters.
65 Morathia Tyrae Heavy Bombers
12 Ender Tyrae - Long-Range Corvettes
SS Listien - PK Frigate
SS Bahamut - Coercive Frigate
SS Oblique - Creator Frigate

The fleet slowly began to bend and stretch slightly, making their way into K-Space. Within 6 hours, they would arrive at the homeworld. Within 6 hours, Tyraelia's fate would be decided...

The Xenonian fleet was finally in position. Their weapons were armed, and ready, and all scanners on, and weapons into position. Their plan was simple. Their capsules would fire, implicating Hive fleet Imodius. A Hive fleet Imodious signal would be transmitted, a high frequency tranmission that would merely be perceived as the alast actions of dying invaders. The Psyker commander would know of the plan, and put his in action.

The capsules were fired immediately. Meanwhile, the fleet in the system moved ever so slightly. The massive hull of the largest ship swung to face through the planetoid, and directly facing the Psy-Gun. If nessecary, the battleship would fire, the destroyers would charge and the Tyraelians would be outnumbered and outgunned, horribly. A messy situation, but a very real possiblity.

Meanwhile, the capsules slammed into the ground of Tyraelia, leaving Arkady Gregorovich to scramble out. Already he bent his own powers to making a tremendously powerful cloaking shield. With a thought, he shut off his own brain functions, allowing Computer programming subtrountines to take over even as his comatose brain controlled the shield. Without a brain function, he would be almost undectable. The only people who could detect him were the ones whom he wanted to be veiwed by.

Arkady Gregorovich took slow, steady steps towards the faint signal of his target ...

Meanwhile, several diplomatic craft from Xenonier floated down into the Atmoshpere of Tyraelia. With the prescence on the other fleet behind the planetiod, that fleet, while fully shielded, would seem to be the trio of Miaks that were currrently in orbit to the Tyraelians, should they ever try to scan the vessels. It was entirely possible the incoming Tyraleian spacefleet might scan them before moving too Tyraleia - no mistakes could be afforded. Because of this, the diplomatic craft could float down into Tyraelia, attracting all their attention. Virtually nobody even knew the other Xenonian's were there.

Everything was going to plan perfectly, or at least Arkady's plan was.
Tyraelia
16-01-2005, 23:56
OOC: What exactly is the target?

IC: The Commander smiled. Everything was going to plan. In a few hours, the Tyraelian fleet would arrive. They would be slaughtered, owing to the fact that Tyraelia hadn't had any real conflict in centuries. Elix Tyra would fall, due to the lack of food supplements, and the Aethae material the fueled the AI constructs would fail. Within 200 years, that people would either develop full operancy, or become extinct.

However, the homeworld, Tyrael Aether, would recoup its losses and regrow. The only prediction he had vouchsafed is that the people of the homeworld would begin their journey towards total operancy once more. The machines could be safely abandoned for at least 100 years, once the factories were destroyed. After all, no one had ever bothered to create a backup version of the information on psi-enhancing machines. He had wiped that, and was on the trail of the last scientist with the knowledge.

He D-Jumped, arriving in a small jungle path, abandoned. The scientist was fleeing along here, in his little flitter.

He waited. For 12 minutes, he waited. Then, zooming overhead, came the little antigravity machine, flying at top speed. He pulled out a weapon he had stolen from Storage Facility 19, a Psi Lance. He focused the tremendous power of his mind into it, carefully gauging how much it could focus.

He fired.

The immense power of the shockwave ripped through the air with a palpable sound, moving incredibly quickly towards the flitter. It hit. The flitter was ripped into shreds, as was the scientist on it. He focused his power again, obliterating the mess that was on the ground.

He then travelled onwards, to whatever mysterious location he wished to be..

OOC: Revealed in this post. I orginally planned it too be your character, but Warhaven's post gave me an idea.

Arkady cotinued to move, albiet slowly. There was no need to hurry, after all. His target would be merely sitting around, waiting ever so patiently. His augrmented ears could already hear the cries for attention from the Warhaven Ambassador.

Choosing the time precisely, Arkady jumped out of cover, facing the startled ambassador. The Sliver had powers and skills beyond that of the Lazy Tryaelians, and was not shackled by Human weaknessess. He spoke slowly.

"Before you ask, I am not your welcome party. You have arrived at the worst possible time - dark plots are brewing. To prevent this, I will need your assistance. Contact your government. Inform them that this entire planet is to expierience a Regime change, and ready yourself. Things are heating up - and If I am to find a compromise between two forces, I will need your help to make the Tyraelian people aware."

He held out his hand, which contained a data Crystal.

"Take this. Make sure somebody in your party with ambassadorial priveliges can upload it to the main Tyraelian scanner system. It's main systems are destroyed, but the remianing networks can broadcast this message across the planet's atmosphere"

The sliver looked on.

"You may not be willing to do this. However, do think of the possible consequences. If you pull this off, your relations with Tyraelia can only go up. I leave this too you, along with the fate of millions. Choose wisely."

Seconds later, before the Sliver could even respond, Arkady dissappeared. He already sensed someone's life force fading, and the powerful surge on pleasure that the undoubtedly violent murder. He would find this Psyker Commander, and finish the plan that the eager Psyker had started. The Xenonian people required it.

Obviously this planet was in trouble of some kind. Slivers could grasp quite a bit, and the Slivers theorized in the Hive mind that not all was what it seemed. Since one Sliver was equal to any other, the Synapse Sliver called down a mnemonic Sliver, gave him the crystal and the mnemonic Sliver returned to the ship. They did quite like the strange man asked.

About 12 minutes after Arkaday left, a small, stout man came to the Sliver landing area. He puffed as he ran, and then came to a stop, as he neared the Slivers.

He talked very quickly, and sounded worried. "I'm sorry, but the government is experiencing a crisis right now. The High Chancellor, Lessor Chancellor, 15 members of the 21-member Dominion Senate and the CEO of Psi Morani have been killed. Essentially, everyone who is someone is dead!

No one has the diplomatic authority to receive you at the moment. The Psyker Commander has moved into the Dominion Palace with about 40 cohorts, and has taken over the government!

There is fighting in many areas, but it should be over in a few hours. Dominio troops have been brought in from Elix Tyra, and, once they have been equipped from the warehouses and factories with Psi Enhancers, this rebellion should be quelled.

He collapsed on the ground, and lay there, unwilling to move. The exhausted, scared little man just didn't have it in him to run 56 miles and survive.

OOC: There are several possible hints there. The most prominent seems to be that the Dominion troops that would engage, and be torn to pieces by the Xenonian fleets are the last hope to stop the plans of conquest laid out by the Psyker Commander. It could also be that their weaponry was destroyed by the Psyker Commmander, or something I've missed. I dunno. :p

Anyway. What size is a Cohort? Same size as the original units used in warfare, or something else?

IC:

Arkady was there, his own brain back into control, the computer mind already planning the events ahead. The spot were the fate of this Dominion would ultimately be decided. He knew the Sliver would have uploaded the data - that result was unstoppable. The transmission would link the death of the Inquisitor to The Psyker Commander, and implicate him in all aspects of his own crimes. Then, the Tyraelians would be shown, in full, graphic detail, the consequences of choosing to die. Every last, painful stage of the virus and denegeration that faced them. They would choose the right path, or die. Either way, their own fate was in their own hands, not a meddlesome dictator whom thought he had authority.

A small signal was already targeted. The beacon was an unmistakable signal to the Xenonian Marines onboard the three miaks. Instead of Quantum Torpedos, they had over 500 Armoured Suit equipped warriors. The Mass teleportation of such a force was nessecary, to maintain surprise. Already, Raptr Interceptors's were launching from the armoured subsystems of all Miaks. They struck at any and all troops bearing the indicator signals of the Psyker Commanders forces. Alongside the Raptrs, Gunships were flying, providing the heavy firepower, should it be needed.

Arkady already met his Burseg, the colonel of the marines. A strappling young soldier at 85, she handed him his own personal energy sword. Sheating the blade, he turned towards his own personal bodyguards.

The Cossaxs. A throwback to their Russian ties.

Arkady adressed his troops. Even these hardened warriors would enjoy one of their leaders famed speeches. Arkady had a charming personality, and a habit of inciting the crowd to feel the wieght of every word he spoke.

Alright men. We do this simple. If It's closed quarter fighting, use your swords and do the hacking. Follow a sweep, keep in touch, 10 man squads. Use iniative when you can. Enhance your own mind defences, and we will go straight through them. If at range, fire away. We have the firepower advantage - remember that. Outnumbered, but never outgunned. Finally, none of you bastards fail me, because if even one of you Idiots fail me, i'm going to come back and haunt you for the rest of your goddamn worthless lives.

A few men and women smiled grimly. Most continued to fan out, searching the perimeter. A few Raptrs flew overhead, the destroyed scanners rendering the orbital defences mostly useless. stray shots barely even registering. Even so, Arkady doubted, that in the circumstances, the Tyraelians would even bother to offer a defence. After all - they had more pressing matters to death with, and with the signal confirming their fears, at least their main airborne threats were striking at the rebellion.

The signal had already begun to transfer. In the material of the signal, a call for all Loyal Tyraelian troops, civilians and whatnot to join the fight.

The final plan was laid for the Tyraelian ships. They would certainly try to attack the Miaks, now they were fully aware of the situation, but a small squad of Raptrs had other ideas. Each Raptr had it's weapons stripped away, and was retrofitted with massive EMP bombs. They would take out the Tyraelians engines the moment the Tyraelians attacked the miaks, leaving them helpless. Hiding directly behind the engines rendered them near invisible too sensors. IT would take a close eye to realise the danger before the Tyraelians were helpless. A bloodless takeover. Those forces would already be in shock, as they could not miss the signal that was playing.

Slowly, the Dreadnought behind the planetoid began rerourting power. It's own hulll, and that of it's escorts, contained the other Xenonian marines, some 2500 of them. It's massive Quantum cannons locked onto the Psygun, and the ships began moving outside of the planets cover, ready to act at the nanosecond they received new orders.

He heard fire, the crackling of psychic energy and screams. Over the interlink, Arkady heard the comforting signal of "Targeting Destroyed. Moving on". The Raptrs were kicking up quite a fuss.

He hadn't had the fire in his veins since the time of the great fall. IT felt even better to be fighting for the good of others, and not for his own survival. Guesturing to his troops, Arkady led his soldiers into a grand march on their target. They would be joined by reinforcements there.

Tyraelia's Grand Parliament.

OOC: Yes, very simultaneous. I'm not sure you might like the events, so if you want anything changed, feel free to tell.

The psychic weapons storehouses. That's the hint the diplomat gave.

"It's massive Quantum cannons locked onto the Psygun "

The Psygun isn't a weapon, as such. It's an organism that lives throughout the entire planet, having being grown in the early days of Tyraelia. The regrowth is to repair the firing nub, which controls the energies which emanate from the gun more effeciently.

IC: The Tyraelian Elite Guard formed up, prepared to defend the city of Tyrael at all costs. They outnumbered the enemy, but were disorganised, outgunned. However, they had a few advantages.

The Commissioner of the forces spoke. "Enemy forces are invading our city. They are breaking through quite easily, however, the tables have just started to turn.
We have received a shipment of psychic-enhancing weaponry and stim shields, and are prepared to fight back. The underground tranport tubes are prepared, and evac has begun. 37% of status-confirmed citizens have been transported to Core Settlement 01.

We are not fighting to win, but fighting to buy time, so we can retreat to the Core Settlements.

Troops of the Dominion, we are the last ray of hope standing in the way of the Swarm. (OOC: remember, you pretended to be HFI remnants)

Evacuation has also happened to the remnants of the government, and the remainder of the fleet has fallen back to Elix Tyra. Tyra be with you."

The troops formed up, and prepared to defend Level X-2 of Tyrael.

(OOC: Remember that my cities are underground, and well-defended. You may've taken the top level easily, but the secured lower level(s) will not fall as easily, if at all)

Twelve hundred elite Tyraelian troops prepared themselves, as each of them equipped with a either a PsiBlaster, a PsiRipper, or a PsiDistorter. All of them equipped with a StimShield, and prepared for battle.

OOC: PsiBlasters are guns shorting out the synapses, and creating huge amounts of electric movement in the brain, killing the subject. PsiRippers distort molecules in a specific area, almost always killing the target. (Both of these get weaker as the range gets longer)
PsiDistorters distort thought processes in the air, stopping any psychic activity in the targetted area.

PsiDistorters were placed near the triple-reinforced blast door, stopping any psychic attempt to open them. The autodefense was down, however, thousands of civilians took the manual aims of hundreds of weapons, each aiming them at the doors, preparing for the enemy to arrive. They knew the enemy would not come through the wall, due to the PsyGun tendrils that were there. Obviously, if the enemy had taken control so quickly, they would know about the near-indestructable and deadly tendrils.

They had to come through the doors, although, the doors weren't exactly the strongest things in existence. Years of protestors and fighting and civil wars had worn them down. It would probably only take 1 or 2 good blasts to rip through them.

The Guard prepared, knowing that this day, most of them would probably meet thier doom.

Meanwhile, the Pskyer Commander frowned. This was not going as planned. He moved his troops out of the Palace (inner centre of the city, heavily fortified), and prepared to help in the defense. Three hundred of the most powerful minds in the Dominion possibly couldn't hurt the defense.

Besides... After he had driven of the alien invaders, who would question his right to rule?

IC:
The hyperspacing nano-comms was cut off, as the conflict inadvertedly intercepted the nanobots (matter based comms), and the assumption was made that the nearest communications team had been destroyed. Standard protocol indicated that two battlecruisers and a communications cruiser were to be sent to attempt to re-secure the communications point. In doing so, they almost crashed into some of the large ships waging battle here.

OOC: Okay, I understand. No shooting at the Psygun. Not that Tyraelia is united enough to use it effectively anyway. My cities are underground as well, (Xenonians have a great love for wildlife, so they leave the majority of the aboveground to the wildlife)

Anyway, I'm assuming your paliament is well below undeground. I do have a question - the revelation that the inquisitor was killed by the Psyker commander would certainly affect their alliances, correct?

Arkady looked at huddled Tyraelian elite guard, through robotic eyes. The Tyraelians powers were fading - he had to admit this. They couldn't even stop a computer mind veiwing them. Nevertheless, they were people. That was all that mattered. No sense killing them, their real enemy lied elsewhere.

Turning towards his troops, he ordered them to back away from the door. Moving up to the door, he focused, allowing his own considerable strength to become augumented by his inner talent. Cybernetics, psychic energy and Genetically Superehuman limbs all combined to give him tremendous power.

Ignoring the danger, he began to slash through the door with his energy sword. The Xenonians, already briefed on what to do, stood back three paces. Each Power Armoured Soldier jolted their suits into action. Quantum Lasers and Quantum Missile Packs all locked and loaded smoothly, preparing for battle, should that be nessecary. Shields up, combat algorithmns engaged and Self Repair systems waited patiently, ready to do their duty.

Already, Arkady's action sent had confusion reeling through the Tyraelians. Those that had considerable psychic powers felt the tremendous prescence of a truly gargantuan power that lay beyond the door. The elite guard prepared to fire at a moments notice. However, the more observant people couldn't help but ask themselves - why had the door not been knocked down? From the previous recorded Hive Fleet Behaviour, they would come smashing through with everything they had. That was, not taking into account the psychic prescence was incredibly powerful - nothing they had ever faced from the hive fleet. What was happening ... it didn't seem like them. Nevertheless, not a single person wavered.

The entire cavern seemed to shake, as the thunderous detonation of several quantum bombs shook the cavern. The doors, already weakened, shook ominously. The Tyraelians tightened fingers around weapons. All were read for an attack by the Hive Fleet.

The door would soon collapse. When it did, Arkady knew the Tyraelians would open fire, The Xenonians would retailate, and a bloodbath would commence. Elite Guard or not, He knew the Tyraelians would suffer immense casualties, if not completely wiped out. He had to find another way - a way to prove to them they meant no harm, to subdue all the defenders and show them of the Psyker Commanders Treachery.

Evidence collected over the life of his Shared mind pointed towards an interesting and unusual possibilty ....

Arkady activated his link with a impulse. The Link crackled to life.

This Is Arkady Gregorovich, to Gunship Squadron Zero-one-one-seven. I'm downloading a maneuver I want you to perform at my current position. Charge Engines to 58% at most, or there will be casualties.

Minutes Later, the distinctive sounds of Heavy Xenonian Corvettes could be heard. The three Gunships nessecary for the maneuver floated down until they were less than 100 Metres away from the doors. THeir engines were pointed straight at the weakened barriers.

Their Engines fired into life, blasting the doors apart. To The Tyraelians inside, the noise, heat and sudden light would be completely disoreintating, rendering them blind and nigh helpess.

As the Engines continued their innovative form of suppression "Fire" Arkady Guestered to ten of his troops, and five Tyraelians. These Tyraelians were caught outside when the Xenonians Made Planetfall, and they had already had proof of their Psyker Commanders lies, thanks to the actions of the Warhaven Ambassador.

Striding into the door, his men following, he would appear to the Tyraelians. If they were loyal to the Psyker Commander, they would recognise him instantly, and he would annouce the destruction of the the Tyraelian fleet (OOC: A lie, they were crippled by the EMPs out or fled).

If they were not, they would still recegnise him as one whom offered his friendship, and if anything - would be greatful for his offered help. Then, we would inform them of their Psyker commanders Deceit.

The rest of his men followed, their weapons already locked onto Tyraelians, ready to fire. Arkady already knew that reinforcements were arriving - over 2500 over them. I the Claustrophobic tunnels, his power armoured infantry would have the advantage due to their superior toughness. In tunnels, numbers accounted for little. His men could clear each tunnel out, lnies of troops could advance to cover the front line, giving the front line a chance to recharge and repair. Either way, Arkady was confident of victory of the Psyker Commander.

Either Way, Bloodshed and massacres were avoided.

As the Engines of the Gunships died, Arkady entered, facing down the barrells of the Tyraelians, or at least those who could stand and aim. He let his (Visible) weapons fall ot the floor, as over a thousand weapons stared him down. The group was already in shock, veiwing some of their own alongside the impsing figure. They knew then, that this was not the Hive Fleet. Arkady spoke

As the Leader of Xenonier, and an Ally to the Tyraelians, I would expect a more ... Homely welcoming. Nevertheless, here I am, with some of yourr people we rescued aboveground, and I bring important news.

OOC: Yay. We are expecting a Civil war here - right? The Majority of the Tyraelians are believing the tricks, or so you say. Anyway, are you familar with Quantum weapons?

28-01-2005, 04:38
OOC: I am not familiar with quantum weapons. Nor should you broadcast the death death of the Inquisitor, due to the fact that he isn't dead. Horribly wounded and most of his metafunctions suppressed into latency, but his redactive metafunction is working quickly to heal him.

The troops let out an audible sigh. The Hive Fleet remainder must've been destroyed by the Xenonians.

A Second Captain, grinning widly, grabbed a psychic broadcaster. (A machine to greatly augment farspeaking capabilities)

Xenonian troops. You will be allowed to enter. Two sets of blast doors will be opened. The way to the Palace will be made open, so you can speak with....whoever happens to rule the government right now.

Suddenly, a huge eruption rocked the city. Houses were flung into the air, and crashed against the roof. A huge stream of lava began to flood the city.

Meanwhile, the Psyker Commander, safely through the transport tube, and into Core Base, smiled. He had manipulated those poor fools too easily. He didn't need Tyraelia. Nor did he need the Xenonians. He could've easily engineered the planet's fall without them. He simply needed a scapegoat, so the Elix Tyrans, who came to reinforce the planet, would see it burn.

He released the full power of his mind, obliterating the puny human body that had confined him, although in need. He let his mind rove around his ancient body. The PsyGun. Gathering the unimaginable amounts of latent psychic power that were left in every bit of the PsyGun, and, even obliterating his own body, to gain every ounce of power he could gain. He let his farsensing capability unleash itself, and roamed the planet, in his mind(s), looking for more lava flow to unleash. Sure enough, he found them. Under the Three Great Cities, he created a huge amount of pressure, pushing the lava up, engulfing the caves. He pushed especially hard on the Main City, hoping to destroy that meddlesome Xenonian.
Within 3 minutes, he estimated, all three cities would be encased in boiling lava.

He D-Jumped, bringing himself to the very core of the planet. There, in their radiant glory, were his Furies. The beings he would bring into powerful Unity, melding their minds in a titanic metaconcert, obliterating all opposition. They would feed upon all life, and spread across planets, destroying. Eventually, he would reach his goal...

OOC: Nice, but you've left a small weakness I can exploit. As for the inquisitor and what I planned to do, certain facts are best left unsaid. After all, as the accusations fly, the inquisitor could conviently show up ...

Arkady already felt the earth disturbance. Nobody, even without enhanced sensors, could miss that rumble. Within seconds, warning signals were being transmitted from the Fleet in Space.

"Sir, we have a huge problem. Geo-seismic discrepancies all around the planet, and they are pouring lava into your direction. Suggest course of action sir?"

The Marines stood to attention, unmoving. With their Suits, they could easily blast off, and leave before the lava killed them. However, that would be abandoning the Tyraelians to their fate. Cowardice would not be allowed.

Arkady ran through thousands of simulations in his mind, trying, in vain, to find a probable solution. All his Human expieriences were for naught - he could stop the flow, but not before the damage was done. Millions would die, he could not prevent that. But he had to save as many as he could - which seemed an impossibility.

Unless ...

A new possibly clawed it's way into his mind. An old, old trick performed by the comupter memorie he carried, a trick that had saved the sentient AI from certain destruction.

It could work ...

Raising his voice to above the nervous populace, Arkady bellowed an order.

"Captain! Trigger the probes we sent down to fire intense Magnatic beams around the planets atmosphere! At the same time, I want the fleet to take up positions outside the Planet's Magnetic field ,and to trigger their engines and fire at the co-ordinates plotted in this map. If done correctly, we should be able to contain the magma flow! DO IT NOW!

The fleet had already begun moving into position. Taking careful aim at precise co-ordinates across the planetary surface, their used precise blasts from Quantum cannons to strike straight through the Tyraelian cities, closing off unessecary launch shutes, trapping the lava for precious seconds. Meanwhile, massive quantum torpedos were launched into the atmoshpere from the fleet. The torpedos contained no warheads however. Their cargo was thousands more tiny probes, of a similar type to the one originally launched.

Screaming down into Tyraelia's amosphere, they impacted into the ground at over 3000 Km/H. Working quickly, the nanometal repaired impact damage, and subsequently began setting the probes up. Arkady could see the progress as each probe activated through his HUD.

Finally, the last one came online, and the picture of Tyraelia became alive with tiny beams of green light on his display. They probes were using the gravitational pull of the ships to force the plates of Tyraelia to heal themselves. The walls of the Cavern began to shake, and the Tyraelians, already warned about the oncoming hazard, ran out. The Xenonians evacuated as well, the collapsed walls barely serving to hold the Lava
long enough for them to make their escape.

As the Last Xenonians Shuffled out, Arkady ordered the ships to fire at the cave entrance. In a single, dazzling light show, the cave crum after a few minutes of staring at the collapsed barrier in fear, waiting for the surge of lava that would be their doom, none came.

Scanners indicated that the planet's geo-seimic activity had slowed, but not stopped. Something was building up there, something ... immense.

At least the threat is halted, Arkady Thought.

"Sir, we have some interesting reports here. Something about ... a massive buildup of energy in the core"

What?, Arkady snapped.

"I'm Serious, something is going on there. It's a psychic backwash, a massive buildup of mental energy, something we have seen before. It's massive, jesus, this thing is as freakin powerful as a dreadnoughts Phased Triton Array"

Evacuate the planet Soldier. Transport the message of evacuation through the probes. The people will listen, they have no-one else to turn to.

"Yes sir... Eta for mass teleportation, 10 minutes.

OOC: Big showdown I presume? Have any problems with me using the Tyraelians to help defeat the Psyker-Commander should he become a threat?

The synapse and mnemonic Slivers could feel the awe inspiring Physcic energy at the core, in fact, with their minds combined, they could almost talk to it, Realizing the instability of the planet the ship hovered off the ground, sheilds completly raised. The Synapse and mnemonic slivers however combined their minds into one powerful hive-mind, and reached out with friendly intent, only one question was one was on the mind:
"Hello? Is anybody there?"
The other slivers were arguing as to wheter or not they should simply leave.
Some thought that they should flee, others contended that they should help the citizens. The Queens call was weakening...

OOC: No, seriously, I can't actually leave, because slivers always keep their word, and they promised to meet with the Tyrelian government, and they also feel responsible for helping to keep the citizens alive during this turmoil. Yes, the synapse and menmonic Slivers have physcic abilities, and yes they are reaching out as one, trying to establish friendly relations with the Commander at the core of the planet, then again, they don't know better either.

OOC" Mind if I use the Tyraelians to help defeat the Inquisitor"? Not at all. That's what they're there for!

IC:

The Being that Was, Lived. It's consciousness was vast, and it was prepared to reproduce. Using its immesurable psychic powers, it reached out, and spread its seeds out of every orifice. Spores floated out, searching for a consciousness to destroy and feed off, and travel throughout the galaxy.

The spores D-jumped, thrown across the galaxy by the father/creator. (OOC: To ensure further RPs and continuation of the race) They landed on innumerable planets, some colonized, many not. Many were thrown into vast suns, and incinerated. Some landed on powerless moons, and died. Perhaps one hundredth of those seeds which were sent forth landed on a planet, and perhaps a hundredth of those landing on a useable planet.

The parasite stirred. Knowing that it was under attack, it had wasted a significant amount of its power to spread its young. It knew that the energy trails would fade in under a millionth of a second, and it was unlikely that the enemy would be able to find one spore, let alone the countless thousands it had saved. It then turned its attention to the creatuions it had nurtured. The Furies. The most powerful psychic beings it could imagine, under it/his/my command. They were endowed with paramount powers in every faculty, and, if lived to maturity, could induvidually eliminate the tiresome Xenonian. However, they were young, and had not the time to mature they required. He must send them out to save it/his/my life now, otherwise they would never grow.

He commanded them to go and challenge Arkady, the Xenonian, in combat. If he fell, then the entire world would be his/its. If Arkady won, then he would be forced to obliterate the planet, through means of the Tyraelian's own technology.

OOC: This is interesting. I've been wanting an excuse to increase my numbers of Grey Knights for a long time.

Arkady Already felt the prescence of the hostile aliens. They were spreading faster than anything could hope to stop. Alreay, The Xenonian ships had begun tracking the limeforms, finding quickly vanishing trails of Dimensional matter.

It seemed the spores had escaped.

Even as Arkady pondered these thoughts, he felt the wash of eletrical energy that followed a mass teleportation. Several figures with Shining Black-Grey armour stood behind the electred representative of the Protectorate, their armoured suits seeming to glow, an angelic touch.

Each figure had twin halberds with built-in Quantum Lasers , suit mounted Heavy Quantum Missile Packs and Infantry Quantum cannons of every Xenonian soldier. But these troops surged with raw pyschic power as well, their own energies rising to something that threatened to eclipse the spores that were fleeing the battle.

They were Grey Knights.

Arkady Turned towards the leader, whom would have already transmitted warnings across the Protectorate. Despite the inherent risks, Xenonier had no choice. Every Xenonian must become a Grey Knight, and stand united against the new threat.

Meanwhile, The Xenonian ships hummed with activity. Despite being unable to track the Dimensional distortion, they could look out for residual quantum signatures. Although well shielded, they could track perhaps 50%, and exterminate them with nanoviruses.

Despite this, they could not stop the plan. And to even know what it was, Arkady would have to confront the psychic prescence lying in Tyraelian's now shrivelled heart.

Where that Psyker commander hid, The Xenonians would have to find him. And when they did, the Commander would know fear. As for his Furies, they could come for Arkady, For all he cared. As it was, The Psyker Commander had made a grave mistake in underestimating him. While Arkady was only a few thousand years old, the Computer Ai that fused to his consciousness was far older, stronger and more powerful. It was the oldest known sentient being in the universe, and with age, came unrivalled power.

The dying parasite felt great power, perhaps greater than its own. However, it also felt weakness, which should be easily exploited. Sending a message to the newly awoken Furies, it commanded them to enter the world above, and destroy. It then took upon it its final act. Collapsing the materials which made up every bit of its planet-infesting body, it turned it into power and knowledge, and impressed itself upon its creations.

The Furies awoke truly this time, and their power grew far greater then it had been before. They cloaked themselves in sheets of power, and flew to the surface.

As the planet began the huge series of earthquakes, as a result of the supporting body-tunnels being removed, and the core having a huge pressure put upon it, hundreds of formerly inactive volcanoes began to rumble, and huge amounts of magma began to rise to the surface. The plates rose and dropped, at a rate thousands and thousands times faster than what was normal.

Earthquakes began to rumble, and tsunamis began to rise.

The Furies flew higher, seeking the one who had engineered their father/master's destruction, preparing to kill.

Their bodies metamorphosed in an instant, into large, evil monsters, who were claws and armor, who had wings, and tentacles. They looked like nightmares come real.

Landing upon a mountain, they thrust their tentacles deep into the earth. Feeding upon the life of tiny creatures within it, they sat, and waited.

One rose up, and flew, seeking the creature who was fused with the Enemy they had sensed. The Enemy was an ancient being, perhaps as ancient as the Master itself. However, it did not seek to spread itself across the galaxy, but had combatted those who sought what the Master did. If it could be killed, then the Masters would truly rule over all.

Just one ... Arkady Thought, as his mind spun with possiblities.

Then he has another plan. Of course, prime projections indicate the Furies weakness, which is evidently pitted against the strength of Xenoninans. Even one Furie is no match for a Grey Knight, my ... mind has assured the eventuality of that. Nevertheless, they will be many. Several Million, perhaps, more than enough to outnumber what forces we have here.

Nevertheless, I have not grown old, weak and complacent like these fools. Let them come.

Drawing his own Swords, Arkady switched his shielding to non-functional.

Let's make it fair, or as fair as this could ever be. Even so, they have no idea how powerful we have become. I may fall, but the Grey Knights will not. And every one who dies only increase their strength, as Xenonians never tire

Facing the planets core, he mouthed a single word. With it, time halted, the charges inside the tiny probes that had already saved this world from geological termination each activated a precise frequency. The Tyraelians had been evacuated, and now knew the scope of annihilating they faced. Everything had gone to plan.

Each Probe activated, the quantum bomb contained within each exploding in an instant, precise strikes that tore apart what little integrity remained of the planet.

Everything went white-hot ....

Seconds later, Arkady Stood upon the one piece of Tyraelia that stood, one not torn apart by the activities of the Psyker Commander, saved by the last actions of the probes, which now could do little more than hold the blasted piece of rock in place. A fitting final battlefield. Standing to attention with the Grey Knights, seven in total, they awaited the coming onslaught.

The First Furies came racing towards them, and Arkady steadied himself, already feeling the upsurge of mental energy.

(OOC: There are only 7 Furies.)

The Furies grew larger, and recrerated, making hundreds of bodies, enough to overwhelm whatever forces stood against them. They prepared to absorb enemy power, and flew off, preparing to obliterate the puny Xenonians. In their anger, they killed every living thing within a radius of a few hundred kilometres around them, absorbing the life power of remaining Tyraelians, hapless Xenonian troops (If that's all right), and untold thousands of helpless small animals. After this feed, they began reproducing faster, perhaps 10 times every few minutes. Although only 1 in 10 reproduced, the army of Furies began to increase dramatically.

OOC: I thought I evacuated the planet, and blew the planet up. There isn't really much room for your Furies to eat anything, and if you did, you'd take casualties, believe me. Half the reason I evacuated my forces was to make this interesting. That would leave Furies versus The Grey Knights. A climatic showdown between teh uberbeings. You don't have any troubles if I hack some of these furies to pieces now, do you? Well, one, just for intrest.

Anyway, what is actually happening to the Poor ol Tyraelian civilians at the end of this? You seem to be playing the part of the Spores and nothing else.

Anyway, My cousin Zotrannsia might have to post my replies later on this week, as I have some late night University courses. He'll just copy + paste the stuff. Just telling in advance.

IC:

Arkady stepped forward, meeing the charge. Calmy moving to one side in a series of quicksilver movemets, he laid into the massive beasts's side. His own energies dampening the unnatural beasts "power". Twisting is second sword, he slammed into in the Furies head, before lifting the struggling monster into the air. Sighing with dissapointment, the blasted the creature off blades with his gauntlet mounted quantum cannons, leaeving the mewling, bloodied mess to crash into the blasted landscape.

Meanwhile, The Xenonian ships recorded the entry of another cruiser, painted black. The ships parted, leaving the lone cruiser to descend to the planetary surface. The haze of teleportation faded, leaving Twelve more Grey Knights standing to attention. They Formed a massive psychic barrier, one that would be a beacon call to the Furies. They would be atrracted to the banner, and would likely run straight into it, destroying themselves.

The Barrier brought them time. Stepping back into the shield itself, Arkady Prepared for the next attack. The Grey Knights picked targets, locked weapons, and opened fire.

OOC: Noted. I'll edit it when I get time.

The Furies screamed in hate and anger, and flew towards the few, slim forces standing against them.

The many of them that had been feeding when the planet was destroyed had been ripped to shreds. Their energy had been subsumed by others, but it was still anger for the death of their comrades. As they inexorably flew towards the resistance, a huge barrage of missiles and torpedoes flew towards them.

With perfect timing, they all D-Jumped through the barrage, with the exception of a few, who were ripped apart, and appeared next to the Grey Knights. The energy they radiated was pain, and any normal mind would be sent into ravening insanity by simple proximity to them. However, the Grey Knights and Arkady were no normal people. The Furies lashed out with huge mental forces, as well as striking with their many claws, tentacles, and acids.
They seemed unassailable, and growing with every moment. No doubt sentient creature lightyears away would feel this potent psychich backlash.

-----

The newly elected Tyraelian leader, Elivarak, had his face set into a grimace.
He conjured up an image of the sorely assailed Grey Knights, and showed it to the remnants of his people.

He spoke quietly, but his words echoed in the minds of his people. "The Xenonians are sorely pressed. They have given their lives, and their sons to aid us. What do you say, people of mine, that we lend them our power. Though it be pitiful in comparison to the forces that rage around us, what right do we have to stand here and shiver in our own protection, letting the Knights take the consequences for our blindness and foolishness. I believe that we should give them every last vestige of our power, empowering their minds with our hope and faith in them. Perhaps it may only make their end easier, perhaps it will tip the balance in our favour. The consequences notwithstanding, we must aid the Xenonians."

With one united voice, the people of Tyraelia shouted yes, in a soundless expression, but not one without power. The psychic powers of the Tyraelian people were with one swift movement, empowered the Grey Knights with the hope, trust, and faith the people had in them.

Though a few people were killed by the giving of their powers, most began to recover swiftly, and create a constant flow of benign mindpowers towards the Grey Knights.

As the powers flowed into the Grey Knights, they heard a message, chiming in their minds. "We belive in you. Our hope, trust and faith go with you. May yu be victorious, and defeat the foul evil that our own foolishness allowed to exist."

-----

The Furies spat out strange beings, ones that scattered into globules of green liquid, which sped towards the Knights. One brought a mammoth tentacle down towards Arkady, and many began to assail the Knights.

OOC: As cool as it would be to have Arkady die, he's sort fo involved in other issues at the moment, which is a shame. We'll have to see.

A Grey Kinght fell, his body torn to pieces by the ferentic actions of the Furies. Reaching out with his own formidable power, Akrady Willed his soul to obey, to hurl the body, and the remaining lifeforce into a safe bubble of protective energy, where the Knight could be teleported onboard his ship. The Other vessels had departed long ago, the sorely taxed Xenonian Protectorate being unable to keep over a third of it's fleet in one place for any real length of time.

Arkady felt the pain - a mere delusion of senses. Reaching out to a scale most beings simply could not comprehend, he tore the tentacle away from it's master at the subatomic level, straightened the appendage to a deadly point, and hammered, it akin to a spear between the Furies skull. The creature collapsed, writhing in agony. Barely acknowlegding the torrent of blood flowing down his skull, Arkady slammed both swords into another, tearing through armour, flesh, bone and sinew. He didn't pause to see how much damage he had done, and aquired another target, killed it, and found another, and another, and another. Threescore, sixscore, seven, each and every one fell as if children beneath him..

It was pure chaos, the massive numbers of Furies and their tremendous power clashing with the walls of power projected by the Knights. Both sides were hammering ecah other with godlike abilities, enough to destroy entire planets. The Grey Knights attacked with all the self discipline of martial masters, gonig through their foes with seeming ease.

And the Furies just kept coming.

The Grey Knights saw this, and due to it, they grew more measured, as if accepting of the possible forecoming death. It was at this moment, Arkady detected a tiny, almost non-existant, buildup of energy in every one them, and joined the chorus. The power gathered would have to be awesome to purge this infestation. The Tyraelians had given them a head start, it was yet to be seen if they could use it effectively.
