Operation: Jungle Torch

2300 hours, Over Sumixian Rainforests; Sumixia

The humming of the planes flying over the rainforest blocked out all the other noises of the night. Each plane was a modified bomber, filled with over 5 tons of gasoline. The pilots inside were waiting for a signal.

Suddenly, a bright flare lit up the night sky, that was the signal. The 30 bombers dove downwards, getting as close to the treetops as they could. The waited until in potion, then the pilots began to flick a special switch in each plane.

Gallons and gallons of gasoline began to pour out of the plane and began raining upon the trees. They began to spread outward, attempting to cover as much rainforest as possible. The trees below them soon became soaked; a single spark could ignite a tree instantly.

While the planes made their way around the jungle. Soldiers carrying heavy barrels of gas walked beneath the planes. They had acquired a map of the jungle, and were placing there firetraps at key spots through the rainforest. Within a few hours, the whole forest would be a torch.

0300 hours, just inside border of Sumixia.

A small group of men wearing face paint and camouflage crept through the trees. All they had in there passion were 9mm pistols and lighters. The continued to sneak for sometime before coming to a small puddle on the ground.

They looked up to see the area in front of them drenched in gasoline with several barrels under trees and bushes. The men pulled out there lighters and stood a careful distance back. One by one, the men flicked the lighters and small flames faded into existence.

“On three, one, two, THREE!”

0342 hours, Sumixia.

A sudden flash lit up the sky. Dark smoke began to pour out of the rainforests, filling the air. The men who started it watched in glory. Let’s see Sumixia stop this, they thought. Trees and plants burned rapidly. Animals howled and shrieked.

Any minute now, All of Marabal, Comatica, Sumixia, and Culex would know about this.

15 Blackrod Bombers skimmed the treetops eagarly. A tinge of orange and red crept over the horizon.

Carmellus looked to his left at his flank. A comrade hovered silently next to him. "It has begun," He said darkly under his breath.

A voice cracked over the radio. "Deploy NOW!" Nobody hesitated. That was the voice of General Fugitivus. They did not want to get him angry.

A payload of about 100 Incendiary bombsfell to the forests, and exploded in a mass of fire and smoke. The company of planes pulled up, and veered off into the night as the forest turned into "One big bonfire."

OOC: I just copied this from the old topic.

Alright. My navy isn't even launched right now.

I have about 50,000 ground troops in the forest, but my entire adult (16+)population has crossbows, and chances are they'll be fighting also. Children also will likely use their parent's crossbows.

My air force has 200 fighter helecopters which have Anti-Aircraft missiles. They aren't much of a match against bomber and fighter planes, but they are somewhat useful for defense.

IC: Alex looked across the land. He could see dark smoke rising in the distance, and at once realized what happened. Anger rose up inside him.
"They would burn religion, and they would burn our forests." he fell silent. "Launch all the helicopters!" he shouted. He turned to Hannah, remembering political protocol. "Do you agree?" he asked. She looked at him. She was as equally angry. She nodded.
"Good." said Alex. "Submerge all three cities. They must think we are idiots to not have a fire control program. Engage it. Also, send the defense alert to each town. No one gets away with burning our forests!"

Ash-ridden field (rainforest), Sumixia

The Planes slowed there speed as they dropped in to land in the feild of ashes. A few hours ago, this field had been a dence jungle. The troops deployed and began to divide into their divisions. Then one by one, they mobilized, going to the heart of the country, there capital. To get there, all they had to do was follow the path of destruction.

"Alright!" yelled General Silenus, "We're not coming back here anytime soon. We'll set up came on the way when we need to, trucks will be carrying the supplies we need behind us. Our Mission is a simply one, march into there cities, capture that murder and kick their asses!!

A group of ten battle helicopters flew down the ash paths. They could already see forces marching like ants. The helicopters flew backwards, over forests. They were surely marching to their doom, because they had activated the fire control systems in time to stop the paths that led to most of the cities, where a great number of soldiers were lying in wait. The helicopters lowered themselves closer to the trees, so they couldn't be seen. If more planes flew overhead, the helicopters could destroy them.

When he went inside, he looked on his status screen. Telethos and West Sotin were safe. North sotin, on the other hand, was still above ground. He checked the screen, wide eyed. The city was having trouble with it's submersion system, and it was the first city in the attacking armies path.

This was not the city that they were looking for. The ships were given information that the capital is partially inland, and that there was a river that led to it (Right?).

The mass of ships turned down the river. About half a mile in, lights were seen on the horizon. Theira.

The Carrier ships halted. About 5,000 of the 30,000 troops were on the ships. The rest were on carrier boats, little metal dignies about 20 feet long, 7 feet in diameter. The other 25,000 were on these boats.

The carrier boats slid onto shore. The General Major surveyed the dark surroundings, the rural areas around the capital. He smirked, and said, "I now declare this nation occupied." The troops continued inland. There were no residential areas around here. Perfect for a basecamp.

Hidden hoses began spraying chemicals that were enviromentally safe to both humans, animals, and plants, putting out the fire. The helicopters recieved a transmission, telling of north sotin's situation. They sped off, leaving the ground troops to try and hold back the attackers.

The basecamp was completed as the first light of dawn came. It was constructed mostly of aluminum, with a double wooden rame. Itstood as small buildings housing the troops. Anti-aircraft guns stood ready. Shell cannons waited on the shore for any Culexian ships. Altogether, there were 15,000 troops here at this camp. The other 15,000 had split up into 120 different groups to scout out places to attack, and to tighten their grasp on Culex.

The bombs exploded in a dazzleing array. The second payload came swiftly afterward.

But there was no third. Anti-aircraft fire cracked the smoke and noise. Fighter c1 was hit promtly, and crashed down to the streets.

The pilot of k3 was leading his unit. Two pawns behind him were struck down in a ball of fire. He called to his men to release the last payload, but only one responded. Then the radio abruptly cut out.

As if to drive this point home, the Humvees souned in the distance, but just as they came into view, several explosive bolts smashed into the humvees, destroying some and wrecking others, and the ash covered ground, making the terrain undriveable. With a sudden crackle, a chain of bullets from the Marabaian troops shot outwards, taking down all men in the front. The Sumixians began to fall one after one, with an occasional Marabal soldier losing a limb.

The cross bows were slow, but extremly powerful. The AK-47's on the other hand were balenced with speed and power.

Suddenly, one of the badly damaged humvees burst into flames as an explosive bolt hit it. Three more explosive bolts flew inward, killing 15 or so soldiers and wounding others. Marabal outnumbered Sumixia.

The fighters drew closer to the ground. They skimmed the surface of the Sumixian resistance, and unleashed a torrent of Footman rounds upon the Sumixians. In the trail of the bullets, heads had disappeared; whether they had been blown off or if they had ducked, the pilots never knew. They just continued firing.

The occasional bomb was dropped, just to try to intimidate the Sumixians. But their bombs were met by round after round of explosive bolts. Several jets were met by the bolts, and were not destroyed. Instead, they blew off their wings, or disfunctionalized the navigational equipment, making it impossible to fly. They were sent spiraling into the sea of Sumixians.

IC: The mass of 5,000 troops moved towards the city under cover of darkness. With them were 650 Comatic Field Tanks, and 45 flatbed truck howizters. On the river, the missle ships were waiting outside the wall, cruise missles ready.

The 15 command vehicles went on first. Then the tanks. The soldirers came after them, a few companies at a time. The 150 military ambulances brought up the back, along with the howitzers.

He nodded and responded before setting the radio back down and hooked it to his belt. General Silenus and himself both had similar Military strategies. The both prefered a mental assult than a physical one.

Atticus laughed slightly as he rembered two years ago, when they caught a tratior in one of their camps in the desert. Instead of reporting him to the goverment and having him put to death like he should have, he tied him to a pole and placed a cooked chicken and glass of water infront of the man.

Suddenly, the guards began to stir. They yelled to each other and pointed out over the wall. The troops had been spotted.

More guards ran up to mounted machine guns on the edges of the wall. But the troops stood still. Time seemed to do likewise. Finally, a voice rang out over the field. The frontlines could not make out what he had said, for the soldiers behind them had begun to fire.

The bullets smashed against the concrete on the wall, blowing bits and pieces of it off. A smoke filled the air, and most troops did not know were they were shooting. The tanks shot rocket after rocket at the wall, attempting to bring it down. I said that the jets went spiraling into the crowd of Sumixians. But I didn't say that your troops died.

The godmoding sticky states this clearly.

It was fighter bomber, right? Not a transport. If I had killed a bunch of troops from a transport plane, that would be true. As it stands, a bomber plane would probably have pilots, not soldiers. If a bomber plane is down, the men inside are useless, unless they can fly around and drop bombs without an aircraft. If you really need three downed pilots, I'll change my post.

Also, in regards to North Sotin, I'd rather have it bombed before you make it a base. It would also make sense, because my adult population owns crossbows and would fight back. More than half my air force is also defending it, but the helicopters aren't that effective.

Well, never mind about the pilots.

Are you talking to me about the base? Because I hadn't planned on bombing it or making it a base.

The guards had seen the soldiers and were firing the machine guns like crazy.
The Army General Seamus Roylg Was alerted at once.
He sent forth 20 tanks and more soldiers to blast the enemies in case they got through the wall.
He also got the tunnels ready in case they had to run for it.
Adm. Jacob Korlt was also alerted and sent out shibs through the river gate.
There is no way that they're comin' in this city he thought

The majority of the company never came back. More men were falling by the second. Fieldmarshall Lucreteus Habenus was desperate. They had better do something or retreat.

Lucreteus called in the demolition squad. Captain Gregorius was first to reply, his face caked in mud.

"Yes, fieldmarshall?" He said breathlessly.

The entire squad of 12 had come by then. "I want to to blow a hole in that wall. Do whatever it takes. Just bring it down. We'll hold off the guards."

"Yes sir," Captain Gregorius said with a brief salute.

The Guards could tell that the enemy soldiers were tiring out, but so were they. Hey dont think that its sooo easy stayin up for 6 hrs keeping a machine gun firing!
Well, anyway, the guards were gettin tired and so they called for reinforcements.
Gen. Roylg sent in the tough guys next, the great lion tanks, newest on the market.
The mortars were also sent to fire over the wall and possibly hit some Howitzers or Tanks.
The navy was also gettin ready in case the walls were breached.

The first light of day crept over the horizon, and over some 1,500 bodies. Ammunition was running low. Little hope remained.

The howitzers pounded the wall and the city. The demolition squad had only managed to blast only a small delv in the wall. The soldiers did not know if they had made much of an impression on the numbers of the guards. This was a battle that would not amount to much. Lucreteus had no choice but to retreat.

3,300 soldiers turned their backs. They sprinted away over the hill, slipping in the dewy grass. The majority of them were soaked in blood, but not their own.

Lucius sat in his den, reviewing the declaration of war. His secretary stepped in. "You called for me, sir?" she said meekly.

"Yes," Lucius said, removing his reading glasses. "I want to talk to the Marabalian president. We have some issues to discuss."

"Right away, sir." She left the den, and Lucius put his glasses back on....

*Emphasized*

As of right now, I am pulling my forces out of Culex. We have agreed to end this conflict, and begin a new age of diplomacy, for the sake of the Alliance of Christian Nations. We have exchanged embassies, and further diplomatic relations will hopefully ensue.

A giant dome appeared on the dimmly lit horizion as the fleet of humvees shot across the ash and burnt brush. They had less then half an hour before they arrived at North Sotine. Bombers followed the humvees close behind, escorted by several Red Hawks unless the enemy tried to slow them down. As this point, It seemed near impossible to stop the attack.

The bombers rushed towards North Sotine. Most of the soldiers had been ordered away, and most of those that remained fired ineffective shots into the air. The planes came closer and closer to the undefended dome.

They flew over the city, panes of some clear material glittering in the sunlight, and they dropped their cargo.

The bombs made short work of the shining dome, and the city below. Families were completely incinerated, and most of the buildings were unsuitable for bomb shelters and were completely demolished. A hospital was blown to pieces. A nursery was destroyed, and the entire residential and agricultural section was burnt. In the heavier residential section, the bombing created a violent firestorm that spread through the rest of the city.

Out of almost 8 million, less than ten thousand survived. The few surviving citizens willing to fight steeled themselves for the attack.
