Pick a section or a specific system and I'll add you. You can also tell me your population, in fact I'd prefer that.
Also, tell me how many planets in your system there are.
Shangia

The outer region.
Population: 3.588 billion
The system has ten planets.

26-12-2004, 05:36
How many are hospitable? At most you can have 3 habitable planets.
Drizzts Army

Sirus System Colony
Population: 4,300,000
The system has 4 planets
2 are hapitable

Oh would it be possible to add one planet on its own, if so

Tusken
Population: 10,000,000
Its just outside the Alpha Centauri System

The system is called the Crokian system.

Shangia: Alright, name isn't important.
DA: No, Planets on their own isn't possible. So I take it you want a Middle section system?

Yeah I think so

You're closest to Earth.

Note: Map will be updated whne I hit the hay. Everyone please join the Planets I forums. It's optional, but please do so.

Another note:
When you claim more than 1 system your InterStellar influence increases, so when I post the map, you'll see that there's a bit of green around my systems, connecting them. If you can't connect your systems' influence then the systems seperated from teh rest will have a bit of an aura around it. This will be helpful in tracking who's in your territory.

How many systems can I claim? What are the rules for claiming more than one system?

When you fill up one system with your people (20 mil. minimum/planet) you can move to another system and claim it as your own, and you get to set how many stars/planets/moons and whatnot just like the original system. Your area of influence also increases. It's basicly more planets and more stuff under your control, but RL factors affect it. No maximum on # of systems you can claim.

Please just tell me if you want Inner, Outer, or Middle Galaxy and how many systems you want! How many planets and how many moons it's got has nothing to do with that (Actually it does, but...). Just tell me what part of the galaxy you want and if you have the whole system.

Would like to add 4 more systems if possible.

Is this supposed to be like the Milky Way Galaxy? Cause there are approximately 100 billion stars in it. However, most of these stars form multi star systems.
Although we are used to thinking of stars coming as individuals because our own Sun appears to be a lone star, this is not the norm. The evidence is that most stars that we see in the sky are parts of multiple star systems revolving around a common center of mass. If there are two stars in the system, it is called a binary star system. Alpha Centauri is a triple star system in which planets would only be able to form around the third star, Proxima Centauri.
Some systems consist of as many as 5 stars.
Out of these 100 billion stars, it is estimated that 50 billion (1/2) could have planets capable of supporting life. That is enough star systems and planets for each NS nation to have at least 10 star systems and then some before the galaxy actually does become very crowded.

You might want to know that the star at the very center of the Milky Way is a super massive black hole, that is making the galaxy rotate on a cosmic timescale.

Number of habitable star systems was calculated by modifying the drake equation.
fp = fraction of stars with planets around them was set at 50%

ne = number of planets per star ecologically able to sustain life: was set at 2

fl = fraction of those planets where life actually evolves: set at 100%

fi = the fraction of fl that evolves intelligent life: set at 100%

fc = the fraction of fi that communicates: also set at 100%

fL = the fraction of the planet's life during which the communicating civilizations survives: was set at 5 billion years.

And that gives you 50 billion star systems capable of having habitable worlds.
Note that for it to work, the last 3 percentages must be 100% cause the drake equation removes all systems that don't have intelligent life, haven't evolved life yet but are still habitable, and that don't have civs that communicate. So in order to know that number of possible habitable planets in the galaxy, you must set them at 100% and the last must be set at 5 billion.

And this gives a total of 50 billion habitable star systems.

hmmm. Come to think of it, when you take that info into consideration, it becomes impossible to create a detailed map of the galaxy (as a whole) as it would have to be to big.
