(ooc: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=367828 for initial details on the weapon, though I never got around to finishing the RP.)

As some of you may or may not recall, Axis Nova developed a method of powering a battlefield particle cannon a while back. While the large size of the weapon, and it's... unique... power requirements have stymied tactical use so far, we have finally managed to reduce it's size to a somewhat useful extent.

As it stands, the "Hell's Flash" particle beam cannon comes in two varieties: A stationary version that is perfectly suited for harbor defense against amphibious assaults (due to it's line of site range) and a somewhat mobile version that can be used for long-range support, and works excellently at clearing away large swaths of fortifications (or large aircraft formations, if the beam is elevated, though it is not designed for this role as the weapon is too large and cumbersome to target a single aircraft). Due to the relative delicacy of the microwave reciever array when deployed, deploying the device without support is not advised.

Both versions of the weapon can be trasversed during firing, a nice feature for catching as many targets as possible with the beam. Cooling has also been improved to a degree, but be aware that it can take up to thirty minutes (possibly more or less depending on the local climate) for the weapon to cool enough to fire again.

This weapon is not available for export at all, except to a few trusted allies. Those allies will have the option of either recieving their own "Hell's Flash" units (in either the portable or stationary version), or getting the plans and constructing them on their own. They will also be supplied with the access codes to the satellite system on a regular basis, so that they may use their new weapons.

(ooc: Basically, not many people qualify for this. TG me if you think you're one of them and are interested.)

OOC:

I went on that idea, not on yours mind you :), about the Microwave thing. I made up a weapon called the Electro-Magnetic Microwave Projection Cannon (EMMPC), which basically intensifies the rays of the Microwave into a ray.

This is a cool idea, indeed, that you have here.

Never heard of that....looked at the site and its informative, bookmarking! Thanks GMC.

In all truth, I came up with the idea when I looked at the Microwave running one day, and remembered how, with the help from my Now-Passed Father I believe, it melted a candy bar and such when it was first discovered.

Just went on that idea, and based the stabilization system with a Electro-Magnetic Field Generation System in which would contain and project the Microwave emissions through an intensification process...

Long story short, came up with the idea while looking at a Microwave Running, lol.

Thanks for the site, glad to see someone took on the idea and did something with it.

This weapon isn't a maser; rather, it is an extraordinarily large and powerful particle cannon powered by microwave energy beamed from an orbiting transmitter. My nation has a number of natural resource satellites in various positions (thanks to a contract with a post-modern spacetech nation), so it was a simple matter to just put the power stations there. In addition, I can also use the transmitters to beam power to civilian facilities, so they're dual use.

OOC:I was going to deploy a space version of one of these.

OOC: The concept is based on a weapon from the anime Gundam X.

OOC:Never heard of it... I was thinking more like a C&C Generals version on a sattelite.
