OOC: This is to RP the transfer of power in Tunisia from Cotland to The Lightning Star.

IC: Elected Leader Thomas Rothsky of Cotland signed the final piece of paper, and thus handed over control of Tunisia to The Lightning Star.

Soon after, the Cottish flag was lowered from the flagpole on the roof of the former Electorial Palace, where it had flown for the last 100 years. The Cottish national anthem played, followed immediately by the Lightning Starian national anthem. Simultaniously, the Lightning Starian flag was raised on the same flagpole.

The Cottish reign of Tunisia was over. The power was handed on to The Lightning Star.

But why?

Inside the main square of Tunis.

General Hanno marched down the main road with a large smile on his face. The Lightning Star once owned Tunisia, 107 years ago in fact. They gave it up due to internal strife, but now The Lightning Star could handle it. After the bands and the flag was raised, General Hanno stepped up to the podium.

"I stand before you today a glad man. I must admit," he began, "that this is like a dream to me and my people. Our people were raised in these very sands, before we were expelled thousands of years ago, but now the people of Carthage have returned, under the new name of The Lightning Star. My superiors have declared that this very city, Tunis, be re-named Carthage, and that all of this colony is as well. And it shall be done! As of this very moment, swarms of serveyors have come to expect the architecture, thousands of scholar's have come to try and recover what remains of Carthage, and 50,000 Imperial Guards have taken control of the city. People of Tunisia, a new day has dawned for thee! Ye were once the most powerful kingdom on the Mediterrainian, and so it shall be again!"

OOC: In reality, Carthage still exists...it's a suburb of Tunis. Though, in practice, Carthage = Tunis.

We would like to congratulate The Lightning Star for acquiring Tunisia today and look forward to friendly, peaceful relations with The Lightning Star, especially now that they are a part of the Roman Confederacy.

Roman Emperor Rodin Hartian reflected a little. "My, how far Rome has gone- from once having fought the Carthaginians and the Parthians to now being allies with them. I wonder what Augustus would have thought about this."

He smiled, very happy. He knew Rome was stronger for making peace with its neighbours, for he knew that if issues were not resolved Rome would have perished. While it may strike some as odd for a nation that once had the Caesars to become a peaceful and friendly one, he knew that the Caesars wanted, above all else, the continuation of Rome, and he knew that they wouldn't do anything differently.

But why?

I got 1 trillion reasons, if you understand what I'm saying ;)

He wanted it so much, and since he RPs that his nation is the former Carthage, he should have the original Carthage. I got a trilliom dollars for it too.

Besides, my main concern right now is to gather enough land in Russia to create a Cottish superpower, so to speak. I still have posessions in the Med, namely the NE Egypt, San Marino and Sicily.

Yeah now I have to tax you 60% of that and take $600B. It's a new E2 rule, yeah that's it...

Yes this was an obvious joke. If you are about to post something like "Why don't you be serious," I want you to step back, take a breath and stop being a serious jerk and relax. It's call amusement and in light of the stupidity of NS, we could all use a break!
