Tanya Yulisandrov frowned. Picking up the cartoon of apple juice, she frowned again. £99,999.24. What the hell? Could this be a misprint?

"Ehm, Chekiv?" She asked the store owner.

"Yes miss Yulisandrov?" He smiled back.

"What the hell is this?!" she picked up the carton and showed it to him.

"haven't you seen the news?" he answered gravely.

"W-w-hy, what's going on?" Chekiv the modest store owner, picked up the newspaper and showed Tanya. She nearly cried. In their vain attempts to catch up with the USD the Government had printed billions upon billions of notes, inflating the economy and making prices hit the roof. "My god."
Chekiv nodded sadly. "You can have this for free miss Yulisandrov. I think we are going to need everything we can get from now on."
Tanya was still in shock "But I have three children? How could they do this to us?"

Chekiv shook his head. "I have no idea, really I don't. Take this carton, for free. I think I shall be resigning my job. I cannot bear to sell such base goods to people for such an extortionate price. To do so would be exploiting. And while we have no money - our social laws are not forgotten." He bit his lip.

All over Hogsweat it was happening. This would not stand. Young Dmitri Brezhnev (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v224/HogsweatNS/HogsweatCharacters/sovioetsoldier.jpg), at only 25 years old, would be the forefront of what was to happen next..

Dmitri's family had been hit hard. With six younger children, his mother could just not cope, and Dmitri, a student at Political College had to send her money just to keep the family alive. When he heard about the news, he rushed across the country, taking the Trans-Hogsweatian railway, passing the great tundra from Chievsk to Dorsalgrad, where his mother lived. Arriving hurriedly at the scene after being reprimanded by an enraged Comissar he had pushed past, he rapped on the door twice. No answer. Worriedly he rapped again, tears coming to his eyes. His mother answered - she was a ragged form and she hugged her son warmly. Inside, he found, in the triple-roomed flat, his six younger siblings. They had not eaten for two days and they looked even worse than his mother. Giving them all the money he had, Dmitri found it was not even enough to buy an apple. His father had died last year in a train accident and ever since the family had been poor, but not as bad as now. His mother had pawned all their possessions, but it was still not enough. The richer people brought money in wheelbarrows to the huge queues outside the bread shops to pay for food.

After a woeful leaving of his family, Dmitri had set off to Hogsingrad to meet with an old friend of his.. Major General Boris Alanov. Alanov was in charge of the 41st and 40th Army Corp, the two Airborne Corp in the Country. His good friend, Lieutenant General Mikhail Pushkin, was in command of the other two. After reaching Alanov's aparntement, he was welcomed inside. Inside the apartment was Pushkin, and Alanov, and also nearly twenty Divisional Commanders that Dmitri did not know. They were drinking coffee - it made Dmitri sick that these people could live in such good conditions when his family had no money for food. However, he did not show it. He needed allies.

"Welcome, Dmitri. Please sit down."

Alanov exclaimed. Dmitri nodded and sat down on the nearest couch.

"meet my friends;" Alanov went through the divisional commanders and they all nodded, and the ones next to Dmitri shook his hand. "Let's get down to business. I believe you have something to tell my friends?"

"Yes. Maybe you have not noticed it, but our government has sold it's shares to foreign assests. At this moment, the Capitalists are revelling in their glorious victory over our Union. Our government is rich; they live in peace and prosperity while citizens of the Union struggle to find food! Was this not what our Soviet Union was formed to combat? How has our Soviet State become what it has hated most!"

At this point, half of the Divisional Commanders, including Alanov and Pushkin clapped loudly. Dmitri smiled and continued.

"Comrades, if you heed my notice, we should have the whole army at our disposal." He corrected himself. "At our use. The Home Brigade will not dare combat a trained and equipped entity such as ours. This operation will take off so fast Naval and Air will not be needed. What I suggest comrades, is we overthrow the government of Hogsweat. Make the evil dealings our government has commited void. Establish a real Soviet state for our workers to revel in. Establish a People's Parliament instead of our current Autocracy. Make our Homeland, our People, Our Union rich and prosperous!"
Now, everyone clapped. Except, Colonel Stupovich. He had an uncertain look about him.

"And what if, this all goes wrong? We lose our heads and our positions?"

Dmitri looked angered.

"Does your head matter comrade? Does your position! No, for we must fight to make this country great again. If we don't, I'm afraid that in little less than a year you too shall lose all you have. Your family will perish. Are you with me, or are you against me?"

Stupovich still looked uncertain, then his eyebrows raised. He picked up his glass, and raised it in the air.

"A toast to Comrade Brezhnev!"

---------4:30 AM, Dorsalgrad
It was deathy silent on the night, when the trucks and the tanks rolled through the city street destined straight through to the Politburo Headquarters. This was where Josef, and the rest of the Politburo, stayed. Dmitri had been there once, in a College Outing. They were the times; everything was bustling and perfect in the city. Dmitri had been fitted with a helmet, which was too big for him, and it showed. He had to lift it up to see. The tanks and the trucks pushed straight through the deep snow, the infantry riding on the sides and the backs of the vehicles. Shivering still in his greatcoat, Dmitri could feel the biting cold of the Hogsweatian winter. It blunted his senses, made him tired and fatigued. He tried to drift off, but it was impossible. Nearly an hour past before the Alanov shook Dmitri. The tired Dmitri opened his eyes, stopped trying to sleep, and looked up. here it was. He saw as the crack Guards troops ran into the building, knocking down the doors and gunning down the frightened security....

Dmitri watched with interest as the soldiers performed their duty, dragging out the members of the Politburo like defeated criminals. They were lined up, and even the usually vicious Comrade Fluffy didn't attempt to fight back. Claws against tanks did not match well. Josef Dorsal looked surprised when he saw Alanov and Dmitri.

"Boris? You, of all people.. and just who the hell is this?" he glaned at Dmitri.

General Alanov did not smile. In fact, he stayed completely emotionless.

"This is Dmitri Brezhnev, future leader of our nation. How could you do this? what where you thinking?"
Josef spat on the ground.
"Dmitri Brezhnev. Bah! Why do you all look so pleased for yourselves?" He looked around at the soldiers surrounding him, their guns lowered. "What you have done today is tantamount to betraying your motherland. the values it stands for. You should be ashamed of yourselves."

They looked ashamed, too. Their feet shuffled and their faces looked at the soft snow in the ground. Dmitri, seizing his chance, spoke up.
"Comrades, what are you ashamed for? What you have done today is a great deed. You have liberated your motherland from an exploitist dictatorship! Your families and friends, even yourselves, would have perished within weeks with the lack of money and food. Now, under a new government, our nation shall prosper and our people shall be happy!" The soldier's raised their guns in the air and shouted their praise...

----------

The next day, the draft had been worked out.
Peoples Soviet Union Constitution

-As of 25th December, a Parliament shall be elected. This shall be 500 citizens, not involved in other government subsidiaries. Dmitri Brezhnev shall be the head of the People's Parliament.

-Dmitri Brezhnev shall be primary Head of State, while Josef Dorsal shall be the secondary Head of State.

-both head of states and the Cabinet may remain, but any decisions they make have to be decided on by the People's Parliament.

-The Act of Nazi Justice shall be transferred to Parliament's control - although Josef and the Cabinet may vote.

-The Defend Motherland! Act will remain under control of the Military.
[the Defend Motherland! Act gives the military the power to do anything, absolutely anything, they want, to destroy the invaders]

----------

The first act passed 500-0 by Parliament was to redistribute food to every single Soviet citizen. Giant mobilisations by distribution detachments filled the country with railroads, trucks, and airplanes, delivering food to every village and every suburb of the PSUH.

The second act, passed 489-9-2 by Parliament was to Retain National Resources for the Use of The Hogsweatian People. This meant that every single transaction made by the former government was void. Null. This also meant that the government would retain it's own stock in it's Resources and it would not be dominated by foreign powers. A message was sent out to every nation owning shares..

"No longer do we live in oppression under your Capitalist regimes. Today, Hogsweat is a free country, free of exploitists that wish to meddle in -our- affairs. You can have your dirty money back - because we have something much more. We have our freedom and our dignity."
