Operation Gabriel - Invasion of Libya

Agreement has finally been reached upon how to execute military operations against the state of Libya. In order to acquire and exploit Libya's abundant supplies of Oil for Hrstrovokia's benefit, and to provide a base for further expansion in North Africa, the HAF [Hrstrovokian Armed Forces] will deploy for the shores of Libya in the Mediterranean.

The first phase will consist of air superiority operations and targeting enemy air defenses. Once air superiority has been achieved thanks to the fighters of NAW [Naval Air Wing] aboard CVAN 17 [Nuclear-powered Aircraft Carrier - Nimitz] and enemy air defenses have been destroyed, close-support aircraft can provide marines of the AAS 20 [Helicopter Assault Aircraft Carrier -Shrike] with cover as they begin insertion to the outskirts of Tripoli via Helicopter.

With the capture and pacification of the capitol complete and the nation thrown into anarchy, it's ports and airbases will be used to stage the arrival of airmobile units of the HAF, under the guard of the NAW contingent in the area and TFW [Tactical Fighter Wing] squadrons operating from Hrstrovokia, we will establish our hold in the north and ultimately consume Libya.

Libya's close proximity to Hrstrovokia allow for a easily sustainable and secure logistical supply of our forces in the theatre. Risban Tunisia will not challenge us, and I suspect that Dimmimar Egypt will remain silent. Libya is ripe for the plucking. Let the world awe our feats.

Soon after a encrypted Message was sent to what appeared to be a similar transmission.

Commencement of Operation Gabriel - H-Hour

BattleGroup Pantera moves into position off the coast of Libya in the Gulf of Sidra. CAPs launched from CVAN 17 have encountered nothing, and the AEW planes have so far to detect an enemy prescence. As the BattleGroup reaches ever closer to the coast, it's potential to strike further inland grows. Aboard CVAN 17, the final checks are being made on the F-15s which are preparing to inaugurate hostilities with surgical strikes on railways, roads and centres of communication [both military and civilian] in the capitol in order to unhinge industry, supplies and disable troop movements.

There is intense activity in the restless capitol of Tripoli or Tarabulus, where BISS agents rendezvous with irregular forces [communist terrorists allied to Hrstrovokia] meet up to co-operate in covert actions against resistance and spreading disinformation amongst the populance. At home, President & General Secretary Mateuz has addressed the people regarding the "terrible events occuring in Libya, where choas has broken out between communist freedom fighters and the corrupt and brutal dictatorship of the government, who wish to crush the workers under their feet". Morale is high, and as long as the Ministry of Information continues to orchestrate the procession, unpopularity to the invasion will be kept minimal and obscure.

The embattled island of Crete, currently under attack by the HAF, has witnessed more deployments as we attempt to stub out the last embers of independence. Once Crete falls, more ports will be opened up to Hrstrovokia shipping, and allow further shipments of men and material to pass across the Mediterranean unhindered.
