The Canadian Tundra

OOC: I'm bored, and this nation hasn't gotten into anything recently, so I decided to do this. If you need a reason to join in, the northwest passage is an easy and convenient way to travel from the atlantic to the pacific, and thus a war would result in much naval fighting and blockading of that trade route, so the resulting economic impact could be a reason to join in. Just a suggestion.
IC:
The procession was making its way down the Divine way, the central road of the main province, Iragia, that lead all the way from the Divine Palace to White Haven, the most important port in all of the Free Provincial Alliance.
In the center of the procession was High Archon Gustav, religious and political leader of the FPA. He stood up in the open vehicle and raised his arms, spreading blessings upon his followers, blowing kisses, and promising that the Lord Junisar would guide them to victory if war erupted again with the Tundra.
On both sides of the car, and in vehicles in front and behind, High Guard infantry marched, looking brilliant in their shining white and silver uniforms, and their JR-2 rifles covered in a decorative white/gold finish.
In a building, two kilometers away, where the road turn at about a fourty degree angle, thus allowing anyone in the building a clear vantage up the road all the way to the Divine Palace.
Inside the building, three Knights of the North had taken over. A dozen dead guards who were covering the building to ensure no snipers could get in were piled in a corner of the room where Master Sergeant Sean Raves had setup his McMillan fifty-caliber tactical sniper rifle. he had the bipod setup and had a bead on Gustav.
At the door to the room, Sergeant Ethan Ferrier sat against the wall, holding the guards walkie talkies, and using recordings he had made of their voices to continually report in when their reports were called for. Ethan also had an amazing skill for imitating other's voices, so if the radio operators tried to make small talk or anything that would require a reply other than what he had recorded, he would be able to cover them.
At the lowest floor, Sergeant Kirill Lorrison kept guard to make sure no one came into the building and wandered up to where Raves had setup his sniper rifle.
Raves peered through his scope, making sure his aim was perfect, he was one of, if not the best sniper in the Tundra, and could hit a target at over two klicks out with relative ease.
The procession had advanced and was only about 1800 meters away, Raves kept tracking Gustav and then fired. The silencer ensured anyone more than a couple hundred meters away wouldn't hear it, but everyone within that range would probably make it out.
Raves cocked his gun and snapped off another shot before the first one even hit. Then he snapped off a third as the first bullet hit Gustav and blew a sizeable hole in his chest. The second bullet hit, sending Gustav's insides spilling out a hole in his back.
The third shot was not directed at Gustav, but at another high ranking religious leader, and it blew away half his head.
Raves picked up the rifle and slung it around his back, grabbing his PDW and following Ferrier out of the room. Screams could be heard from the crowd as they overwhelmed the guard to get their leader and do what they could to help him. The guards pushed them away and started firing into the air to keep them at bay. The guard vehicles opened a hole in the crowd and the procession sped towards the hospital.
The radio was filled with demands for where the shot came from, for reinforcements, for army units to lockdown the city, and for orders for the High Guard to report in any and all information they could.
Ferrier spoke into the radio, reporting in the voice of who he believed to be the commander of the guards in the building they had used, that the shot came from a building down the street a bit.
Ferrier and Raves met with Lorrison at the bottom of the building and rushed outside, heading into a man hole as they saw High Guard infantry storming the building that Ferrier had guided them to.
The trio disappeared into the sewers and headed outwards, and towards their escape.
*Several Hours Later*
The FPA news channels were filled with reports of the assassination of their leader and other top figure. Soon after, all reports started laying the blame on the Tundra and called for military action. Archon of Defence, James Hoakim, called up all reserves forces and called upon all loyal Junisarians to contribute to the military by enlisting and converting factories to wartime production. Naval units were gathered, and started heading towards the Northwest Passage, where a tense standoff between Tundric and FPA naval forces had been underway for three weeks.
President James Verian-Saiyoto himself replied to the allegations, saying that if the FPA wanted war, the Tundra would give them one, but didn't openly refute the claim that they were behind the assassination.
All Tundric military forces are being mobilized, and it seems as if war is soon to break out.
