War Upon Euroslavia (Earth III)

The Fuhrer sat in his office in Venice. He watched as several thousand, possibly millions, of troops honed their expertise of shooting and using cover. They prepared for battle.

Meanwhile, in Lourdes, France...

Twenty four, possibly more, ST-21 MBTs (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=361781) guarded the border into Spain and Andorra. They were supported by Assault Helicopters and a nearby airforce base in Tarbes, and another in Pau.

Naval vessels, ranging from Cruisers to Carriers, began to mobilize out of the newly-built port and naval base in Arcachon. Their grey hulls and glorious cleanliness would soon spoil under the dark and black sky of battle.

Four hours later...

Fuhrer Viechal watched as his troops boarded into armored troop transport cars and tanks, and rolled down the military roads in Muret. The troops were heading towards the Spanish-French border, and would soon be crossing over. He walked out of the Council Building and into the sunny land outside.

He was given a ride in a limosine to a press meeting, were he would declare a state of martial law and war upon Euroslavian forces.

The Fuhrer entered the meeting wearing a green military coat, standard of high ranking officers of the Witzgallian Empire. Even the Fuhrer showed his support to his troops who were soon to enter combat.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I have something of the upmost importance to speak of. I must say that I am regretted to say that, even though we have been long time allies, I have been forced to declare the nation of Euroslavia and its position in the European Continent as a hostile empire, and an enemy of our fine nation. Therefor, without choice, I must declare a state of war upon Euroslavia."

The Fuhrer continued for forty five more minutes. He then left the meeting, leaving the press stunned with the news. They were not informed of this decision before hand.

Euroslavia was given three days, until the day after Christmas, to surrender unconditionally and become a member of the Witzgallian Empire. This would expand the empire from France, Italy, and Germany to cover almost the entire eastern European scene.

Within the Comrades' Office in Pyrynn, Euroslavia.

Euroslavia was given three days, until the day after Christmas, to surrender unconditionally and become a member of the Witzgallian Empire. This would expand the empire from France, Italy, and Germany to cover almost the entire eastern European scene.

This message was delivered to the Comrade, at 8am the next morning. Comrade Maloney was sitting in his Office when a messenger walked in and handed him an envelope. He took a glance at the messenger, and his face looked...pale. Taking the letter from him, the Comrade looked at the front of it, before opening it. It read, "Witzgall Declares War on Euroslavia".

"This has to be some sort of joke. Why the hell would our own allies within the Legion of Defense declare war on us?"

He paused, and opened the letter. It looked like whoever wrote this, which was most likely the Minister of Foreign Relations, was either in a rush, or was extremely hurt by such a declaration...

The Comrade pressed a button on the phone, and picked it up, speaking to his secretary.

"Judy, I would like you to release a message to the Witzgallian Empire stating that Euroslavia will not give in to its empty threats, and will follow up by declaring war upon their unfortunate empire."

To Whom It May Concern in Witzgall,
Your declaration of war is a complete shock to not only us, but to the entire world. We feel that we have been betrayed by one of our closest allies. Your betrayal will never be forgotten, and we will do all that we can to subdue your 'rogue actions'. Our empire will not give in to your request that we surrender to you, nor will we stand by and do nothing about it. Consider this a Declaration of War upon your pathetic nation. Your actions will be punished.

Soon after the message was released to Witzgall, it was released to the rest of the world. They must know what happened here.

The Fuhrer read his message, as well as watched the news caster read it off on his television screen. He stared at the letter, amazed by the response. He was almost positive they would have surrendered.

He reached over and picked up his office's telephone. After dialing a few numbers, he was connected to Field Marshal Joeseph Heer, commander, Department of Military Administration.

"Field Marshal Heer, I require you to connect me to General Jesse Winston." the Fuhrer said with haste.
"Yes Sir Viechal, connecting immeidatly." the Marshal replied.

This was standard security precaution. In order to call out of the Fuhrer's office, you had to go through a security check by a routing of the call. This did not phase the Fuhrer, as it was a everyday occurence.

"Hello? General Winston, Commander of the Witzgallian Corps Office." the secretary said.
"This is Fuhrer Viechal the First. Please patch me through to Winston immediatly."
"Yes sir." the secretary responded, connecting the line to the General.

"General Winston here." the man on the phone said.
"Greetings, Winston. It is Fuhrer Viechal. I require you to mobilize the first corps division immediatly. War has started between Euroslavia." the Fuhrer said, with a certain degree of anger in his voice.
"Didn't you give them seventy two hours, Sir?"
"Do not question me, General."
"Yes Sir."

The General continued to make a series of calls to his comrades, ordering division movements to the Spanish-French border, as well as Andorra. The war began with a bang as large troop movements paced towards the border, followed by tanks and other ground forces.

The Witzgallian Air Force, Divisions One and Two, had also been deployed with haste. They were to patrol the border, and await a go-code for strategic strikes.

Reigning Prince, Manfred Osterreich stared at his latest intelligence briefing in disbelief. How could these two Allies now be tearing each other to pieces?

Glancing back at his patiently awaiting Ministers, he made his statement:

" Gentlemen, I believe this unfortunate conflict will give us an opportunity to reveal our small nation to the rest of the world. Although we cannot offer military support, we can help perform other services."

" What type of services?" replied the stubby Minister of Finance, Hans Göteborg promptly replied.

A slight grin appeared on the Prince's face, as he began to calmly pace the room, a life long habit of his.

" As you may know, conflicts on this broad of a scale cost immense sums of money. Since Lachenburg has some of the finest banking institutes, along with immense sums of money, we could possibly provide financial support to one of the conflicting parties, in return for land or even more money."

Surprised by this comment, the Minister of Finance thought to himself for a moment, before repling.

" Alright, I'll draft a request and send it to the Witzgallian government as soon as possible."

Hans quickly left the room to go make some calls, just as the remaining ministers began to deliberate on other matters of security.

----Transmission December 2004----

To: Witzgallian High Command

Greetings,

Just recently, our government has been updated on the situation between your forces and the forces of Euroslavia and we are truly dismayed by this conflict. However, we feel that it would be in our best interest to present your government with the following proposition:

The Principality of Lachenburg is willing to help your country pay for 5% of the debts, created by this conflict. Once a proper estimate has been made, detailing the total cost, we will wire the amount to your banks in Switzerland.

In return, our government would like to claim a small territory of Monaco, that is now under your government's control.

We hope that you will seriously consider this preposition, so that both of us may profit in the coming conflict.

The Fuhrer read his message, and ordered a response immediatly.

--Communique to Lachenburg Government--

Monacco is not currently under Witzgallian control. As for our banks in Switzerland, I am not sure how you would help us there as you do not control Switzerland.

As to my understanding, you currently possess Liechtanstein.

The Ineffable Empire offers assistance in your defence. We will be unable to send any significant naval force, owing to our engagement elsewhere. ---Transmission December 2004----

Greetings,

I believe you may have wrongly interpreted my recently sent message, so let me clarify it for you.

First of all, we do only posses the territory of Liechenstien.

Secondly, my previous statement made no reference to your ownership of Switzerland.

Furthermore, it appeared to me that you claimed the territory of Monaco, my mistake.

Anyways, our intended proposition was that we would help your nation pay for the costs of this war and in return, you would grant us a small area of land to expand on.

I hope the meaning of our correspondence is clear.

"We're born as innocents
Cast into the world
With apple eyes..."

The Eighteenth Gepanzert Division rolled up to the French-Andoran border. Consisting of 8,720 troops and 108 ST-21 MBTs, as well as 12 MLRS, the 18th Gepanzert was a formidable opponent for a small assault.

The Colonel in charge of the 18th Gepanzert sat in his military jeep, which on the door panel held the traditional Witzgallian Flag and a black crescent moon on the hood of the car. This was the symbol of the division.

"Colonel Figurre, we have an order from the Fuhrer." said a field officer, rushing to the Colonel's parked jeep from his position amongst the troops.
"What is it?" the Colonel asked, exiting his vehicle.

The officer handed Figurre a manilla envelope, which on the cover states "FIGURRE, OPERATION "CHOSEN ONE"."

He nodded to the officer, and released him from his attention. He pulled out his pocket knife and ripped open the folder with violence. He pulled out a packet of paper, possibly ten pages thick.

He began to read the packet, more or less skimming and scanning it for anything that stuck out. It was details about the first assault, the takeover of Andorra, which would be codenamed "Operation: Chosen One."

"Men. Round up." the Colonel said, reading the paper still.

The field marshal who accompanied the Colonel stood next to an ST-21. He walked over slowly, speeding up as he neared the Colonel.

"Fuhrer Viechal has given us orders to storm Andorra in six hours. He will place a satcom message with Admiral Yusef alerting them of a naval strike against Portugal, in hopes to confuse the Euroslavians into thinking we will strike Portugal first..." the Colonel stated, handing the Field Marshal the packet he had recently finished.
"Let us pray his plan works, eh Colonel?" the Field Marshal said, flipping through the intel quickly.
"Indeed."

The 18th Gepanzert Division prepared their weapons and vehicles for the operation at hand, hoping to surprise the enemy sufficienly and make a quick takeover and establishment in Andorra.

OOC: Sounds like a challenge.

I have a funny feeling Im allied to Euroslavia in some way but can't remember (a while back semi secretly).

I still have a large well equipped force just a bit West of the med. I will act when I know whether I am allied to him. I think there may be one or two others who are allied to Euroslavia too if this is the case. Good Rpers too.

It's a long story how I forgot, so forgive me, but if we are allied, Euro, Tg me. I can probably call you in a few allies for this.

which nation is Euroslavia located in?

EDIT: I have to be Earth III specific. Doh. never mind, but one or two of the others may be anyway.

Its a pain really as if you dont have a claim you cant participate but if you have a claim you still cant participate in several other worlds. As annoying as hell but thems the breaks I guess.

The time had passed. The 18th Gepanzert mobilized swiftly and rolled towards Andorra. The tanks rolled behind the massive troop movement, keeping at a slow speed but able to speed up quickly if need be.

Resistance was expected, but so far none was found. The troops paused at the border. The Colonel and Field Marshal's jeep drove to the front of the line. The Colonel stood in his jeep, and made a radio call to all vehicle commanders.

"Today, we make the Euroslavians respect us. Today, we make them acknowledge our name. Today, we earn our place in the history books, and the mind of generations to come. Today, we conquer! FOR WITZGALL!" the Colonel shouted.

"HAR HAR!" exclaimed almost every troop and vehicular commander as the 18th Gepanzert Division rolled with force across the Andorran border, and the ground shook with fierce trembling. The war had only just begun...

Early morning Christmas Eve commuters at the New Jersey entrance of the Holland Tunnell were startled and pleased when met by paratroopers of the 39th Airborne Division waving them through, with no toll.

Traffic on the Ben Franklin bridge into Camden ground to a halt as the trucks and armored vehicles streamed east, fanning out south across the Delaware river littoral.

Flights out of Newark International Airport continued, with the same friendly service happy flyers have come to expect. Everything remained normal. Only the most observant noticed the changed insignia on the National Guard uniforms at security.

And as dawn arose on that cold morning, traffic at the Port of Perth Amboy continued on it's busy way. Above the Customs Building flew the White over Blue of West Cedarbrook. Five minesweepers flying that flag were moving from the Manhattan side of the Hudson to the port.

At 9:00 AM, on all major networks, President Louis Steinberg addressed the nation:

"Last night, based on events overseas, we have secured necessary transportation facilities in New Jersey on Earth III. These facilities, including but not limited to tunnels and bridgeheads connecting New Jersey with New York City, the Newark International Airport, and the Port of Perth Amboy are largely owned by our investors and are a vital part of New Jersey's livelihood, as well as our commerce. We have also secured the far bank of the Delaware River to gaurantee continued access to the Atlantic for the Port of Philadelphia.

The Empire of Witzgall, the hand that held the dagger, plunged it in to it's neighbors back. Although we are far from Europe, we cannot help but view these events gravely.

West Cedarbrook stands to protect and preserve the freedoms that we, and our North American neighbors hold dear. Our embassy in Euroslavia has conveyed our sympathy with that violated nation.

It is our hope that Europe will come to it's senses. Peace is desireable, but never desireable at the price of slavery. I look forward the the continuation of the holiday season, and we offer any services possible to regaining peace in Europe. But we will protect our nation, and will extend support to our neighbors."

The networks continued coverage of the move into New Jersey. Fox News Eretz showed the Mayor and Council of Egg Harbor offering bread and salt to the first units to enter that city. The Cedarbrook Broadcasting System featured happy toddlers bouncing on the lap of a Santa in fatigues at the Paramus Mall. West Cedarbrook One was on the scene as the Young Libertarians siezed the Student Union at Princeton and hauled up the White and Blue.

Greetings, Fuhrer.
The Empire of Risban wishes to help you in your conquest of Euroslavia both out of payback for your aid in evacuating those civilians from Tunisia and out of personal gain and interest. We can transport to Witzgall 645,000 trained soldiers from Ireland, who you can use in any way you want. We can also send you naval support both from our ports in Ireland and Tunisia. Also, due to a boost in our economy, we can provide Witzgall with some monetary resources for this campaign as well. In return we ask that, should Witzgall be victiorious, Risban be granted permission to settle and annex the Balearic Islands off the coast of Spain. We will, of course, should you ask for it, give some monetary compensation for the islands as well.

"Bravo Delta, this is Hawk Seven. Do you come in?" the radio cackled.
"This is Bravo Delta." the Colonel responded, picking up his radio from the Jeep's control panel.
"Roger. Hawk Seven, I am above you." the other operator said.

The Colonel stopped the Jeep, and looked above him. Eight Numen V's flew directly above the 18th Gepanzert. The Colonel smiled as his air patrol flew above his head at great speeds.

A Mk II Gara MRLS, just eighty yards behind the 18th (now stationed approximately 180 miles outside of Soldeu), aimed its missile system at a certain degree. The sun's light hit the rockets, reflecting them into the Colonel's dusty sunglasses.

"POSITION READY!" shouted one soldier.
"POSITION READY! AWAIT GO!" shouted the driver of the MLRS, peering his head out of the window.
"ROGER!" the other soldier exclaimed, rushing away from the system.
"FIRE!" the driver exclaimed.

The soldier pushed down a small button. A light in the control panel of the driver's position went on, and the driver flipped a switch. The first valley of six missiles fired out of the system, and flew throughout the air.

"PREPARE SECOND BATCH!" the soldier said.
"READY!" the driver exclaimed.

The same process happened again, but the driver held off on hitting the switch. The ground shook a little, and smoke could be seen in Soldeu.

"FIRST BATCH STATUS IS A HIT! FIRE SECONDARY!" the driver said, flipping the switch.

The secondary batch of missiles fired out of the MLRS system, the flames and propulsion of the rockets scorching the ground behind the angled back. The Colonel took of his sunglasses and wiped them on his military uniform, watching as the second batch of missiles pounded into Soldeu.

"HOLD POSITION!" the Field Marshal accompanying the Colonel exclaimed, talking to all soldiers. "PREPARE MORE MISSILES!"

Andorra wasn't exactly prepared for the swift attack by the Witzgallian Empire. The wave of missiles launched at Andorra was, as a matter of fact, a complete shock. Each missile streaked towards the downtown area of the city. In specific, 2 missiles went array, and hit a government building. Thankfully, it was already evacuated. Two tank factories were hit and severely damaged, and a civilian house was hit and destroyed, killing what is estimated as 5 civilians. One missile smashed into a local Kmart, but failed to detonate.

"Roger. Shall we continue our approach?" the Field Marshal asked.
"Not yet. Get me Colonel Pusk of the 26th Gepanzert."
"Yes sir."

The Field Marshal clicked several channels over on the radio frequency, until he got the 26th Gepanzert division's call.

"Twenty Sixth, Twenty Sixth. This is the Eighteenth Gepanzert, radioing in. Do you read us?" the Colonel said, taking the radio from his comrade.
"Roger that. This is Colonel Pusk of the Twenty Sixth. What is it?"
"This is Figurre. We require the 26th to go after El Serrat, to take the Euroslavians into seperate routes and split up."
"Roger. We will move out now."
"Thank you, Pusk."

The Colonel disconnected the radio conversation. The soldiers loaded new rockets into the MLRS that had recently fired, and the other MLRS systems began to aim their armaments at Soldeu.

"Shall we fire?" asked the Field Marshal.
"Indeed."

The Field Marshal raised his right hand into the air, getting the attention of the drivers of the MLRS. He dropped his hands, and the drivers flipped the switch. Over twenty four rockets flew into the city, even though some missed their target and ended up hitting outside of the mark.

Meanwhile, the 26th Gepanzert, consisting of 12,800 troops and 128 ST-21s, began to take arms and roll towards El Serrat.

Twenty eight B-2 bombers flew towards the capitol of Andorra, Andorra La Vella. Their armaments and payloads consisted of several Mk 82 and Mk 84 "dumb bombs." They flew above Andorra, completely unrecognized by the enemy.

"Sorry sir, just making sure they aren't allied reinforcements."

"Why the hell would allied reinforcements come at us from Witzgallian Territory?!?!"

"Good point. Prepare the anti-air missiles?"

"Yes, how many of those aircraft do you have on count?"

"It is estimated to be from 20-30, at the most. Should we go ahead and launch a few extras, just to make sure they're taken down?"

"You must be new, right?"

"Yes, I am actually, you see..."

"FIRE THE MISSILES IDIOT!"

"At once sir!"

35 anti-air missiles were fired at the upcoming enemy air force, however, due to the ...conversation that took place between those two, precious time was lost, and the chance at destroying them all was low, however, majority of them, according to statistics, should be taken out. "Sir...we have large lights." a B2 weapons officer said.
"Must be snow or something." the pilot said.
"Shall I switch on countermeasures?"
"You mean they aren't on?" the pilot asked, looking with grimace.

The plane was hit directly on the left wing by a large missile. The wing exploded into flames, and the plane made a rapid descent.

"ENGAGED!" another pilot shouted into his radio.

The B2s began to fall like ducks from the old Nintendo games, and they hit the ground with such force the ground shook all over the nation of Andorra. Only six B2s escaped the hellish uproar of the explosive anti-air firings, and they proceded to drop their payload upon Andorra La Vella. Small black bursts could be seen from the city, and the planes began to circle around and approach France.

Two more planes were shot while crossing the Andorran-French border. Another was heavily damaged, and the engine was spitting out black exhaust and small flames.

The threat of war moved for the evacuation of majority of the citizens of Andorra into Spain, however, there were still many that decided to ignore the requests, leaving approximately 1,035 citizens dead, as well as military personnel.

"We've been hit sir!"

"No freakin way, soldier, I did feel the ground shake. It's time to fire all of our remaining missiles into France. How many in total do we have left?"

"Sir, we have 400 cruise missiles that we can fire at the border in France."

"Fire them all."

"Excuse me? Did I hear you correctly?"

"No, you didn't, I said fire 1 missile, and see what it does..."

"Wait..wha..?"

"FIRE ALL THE DAMN MISSILES JACKASS!"

Missiles were fired at 4 specific cities: Lourdes, Perpignan, Toulouse, and Pau.

Not actually on Earth III... http://messenger.msn.com/MMM2004-11-10_11.23/Resource/emoticons/72_72.gif
The Coalition of Evil is a landmass centering around the north pole. Barbarosea covers the north pole, and to put it on a planet of Earth's actual size TST would reach into the southern hemisphere.
But, so as it doesn't get confusing, I usually RP a position from a Norway-like coastline in the north Atlantic, roughly the same latitude as Inverness, Scotland. Doesn't really matter with regard to territory, as any counter-invasion of me by Witzgall et amis would be met by my star/gravships and put out of its misery a few seconds later, but for travel-times etc that's where I'll be playing from. I can't really do a ground invasion of Witzgall from my country.
Assuming that's okay, I would request a list of rules (tech level, policy on WMD*s, etc).
(*I wouldn't be nuking Witzgallian cities or anything, but my standard naval tactic is: When outgunned or in a hurry; nuke the enemy fleet.)
Witzgall:
The fact I don't want to deploy a navy doesn't mean I won't.
And I need to know if dropshipping first-strike forces into Euroslavia would be okay. I'll keep to modern-ish tech if you desire, but the dropships and mecha can and will be adjusted to do combat with MT fairly (that is assuming you're MT...).
IC:
The massive aerial troop-insertion fleet took off. The troops were being ferried by massive hypersoar transports, flitting back and forth to build up as big an infantry force in Euroslavia as possible. The journey each way would take just under an hour, with the same time again to load and unload the troops.
Normally, the armour would be loaded into massive transport zeppelins. However, they were large, slow moving targets, and with almost certainly no air or naval superiority, they'd have to wait until the Hypersoars were ready to begin ferrying them.
Meanwhile, the Ineffable tenth navy left port, and headed towards the combat zone. It was the standard fleet make-up, excepting the inclusion of the twelve Hellfire class missile battleships. Admiral Dave Kristofski had a feeling they might be needed.
As this happened, the dropship-carriers moved into position over Euroslavia and prepared for troop deployment, just as the hypersoar bombers of the eigth airfleet were loaded and prepared for strikes against Witzgall.

In Lourdes...
A younger husband and wife, with their four year old son, entered their car outside of the Lourdes' market. Suddenly, a large explosion came from the building next to their parking spot. The building crumbled under the massive heat, and fell onto the family.

Six more missiles crashed into the marketplace, killing hundreds of vendors and military officials who were there to enforce the effect of the newly acted Martial Law.

"WE HAVE MEN DOWN! REQUEST ASSISTANCE!" one soldier shouted into his Hummer's radioset. Two seconds later, his car was toppled by rubble and fire.

Only three of the missiles hit the nearby airforce base, but they were enough to devestate the national guard that was positioned there. The base exploded into flames, killing over 800 servicemen who rushed to their jets and bunkers to escape.

In Perpignan...
The Le Palais des Rois de Majorque sat in its beauty as nightfall came upon the medieval architecture. The building suddenly crumbled as a missile pierced through its side.

Civilians rushed for cover as missiles rained down upon them. The people just wanted to enjoy their holiday, but instead were massacred. Over a thousand people were killed as they rushed for cover, but only eight soldiers were killed.

In Toulouse...
The National Centre for Space Research was locking its doors for the Christmas holiday. The guardsmen exchanged small gifts, consisting of rich cigars and golden lighters.

Eight cruise missiles hit the building, as well as several art museums. The city was devestated entirely, including the nearby Army Fort. The Fort was hit by over two dozen of the missiles, and a nearby ST-21 MBT factory was completely reduced to rubble and ashes.

In Pau...
The Sainte-Marie cathedral, a magnificent Roman gateway declared World Heritage, burst into flames and the eastern high tower collapsed. The guardsmen of the church were crushed by the rubble.

Two missiles hit a nearby ST-21 factory, exploding the armament of tank shells inside the factory. A massive fire came out of the factory. Only thirty civilians were killed, but roughly one hundred military policemen died.

To Whomever it Concerns in Risban

We thank you for your support. We would much appreciate it if your troops hold off for the moment, we may need them later.

However, it would be much appreciated if your navy would blockade Portugal and all ships leaving that area. We request this to happen immediatly, as we fear that Euroslavian ships may be leaving the area of Spain/Portugal and coming to attack Germany and its massive amount of U-Boats.

The Euroslavic Army had a few plans of its own. It had outlined it's plans for a complete invasion of France, and a surrender of the Witzgallian Empire to Euroslavia. Four separate Battle Groups were being assembled, after the air strikes were to end. There were Battle Groups being mobilized at the Western and Eastern Spanish-French border, and a third being mobilized behind the Andorran-Spanish border, just within the Spanish territory, to suprise the Witzgallian forces. Mechanized Divisions were also being prepared, for pave the way through France.

"Comrade, should we launch our air strike?"

"Yes. We all know that France can't do wars, so let's try and make this quick. Send the entire strike forces into France, near the border, and bomb the hell out of them. It's what they get for declaring war on us."

"Yes, sir."

The Expeditionary Air Force was given the go-ahead to take off.. it consisted of 3 groups, at each of the Battle Groups mentioned previous.

OOC: All of these stats are for 1 Battle Group, so triple them to see the total forces. ^.^

26: F-117 stealth bombers
10: F-12C Advanced Attack Jets
30: ZaS-27M Thunderbirds
30: Yahweh attack helicopters
20: F-16 Fighter Jets

A quick strike to the borders was necessary to paralyze the Witzgallian Forces, and send them into disarray, in hopes that a delay in their attacks will occur. The cities that would be targeted are Toulouse, Bayonne, and multiple smaller cities, by the third group: Narbonne, Carcassonne, and Beziers.

Each of the separate Expeditionary Air Forces went ahead and soared into Witzgallian space. There were a few suspected enemy encampments in the heads of the strategists, that needed to be knocked out, as well as specific power sources within the city, a main reactor within each city, to cause a blackout, and mess with their heads.

More forces were requested to send behind each of the already moving groups:

OOC: Read the OOC stuff in the last post

40: AN-4B Tempests
50: F\A-18E\F Superhornets
70: Apache attack helicopters
15: B-2 Stealth Bombers
50: A-10 Warthogs

Each of the previously launched groups would have aid only a few miles behind them, in case of an all out assault by the Witzgallian Air Force. They soon took their path to the suspected areas in France that needed to be taken out. Missiles were to be specifically aimed at all power sources.

The Witzgallian "Royal" Air Force was moving after the sirens in Paris went off that a large "anomaly" near the French-Spanish border was detected. The massive Air Divisions 1 and 2, named "Schlechte Vögel" as a codename for the airforce, mobilized out of their positions in France and Italy.

Each division stayed close together, preparing to meet the large anomaly any second. The Numen Vs roared to the front of the pack, hitting Mach 3.8 each.

The airforce was large in numbers and the pilots were highly trained, especially in dogfighting.

As they approached the border, a Numen V pilot spotted an enemy F16 on its highly sophisticated radar..

"Sir, bogie spotted." the pilot said, radioing to the others.
"Roger. Engage all targets."

The Numen V released its Russian-made AA missile, a R-77. Other pilots began to unleash salvos of missiles at the enemy crafts as they appeared on their radar.

"Countermeasures initiated." a pilot said.

Grand Admiral Eric Tarda of the Risban Imperial Navy stood on the bridge of the RIS Scorpion as the First Fleet neared Portugal. He sighed, rubbing his head. He hated action. "Why did I get into this job, Jen?"
A naval officer standing beside him laughed slightly. "Because you liked the navy when Scorpius was in control of it and wanted to serve him well when he became Emperor. And, this thing is the only thing you're really good at," she responded.
The Grand Admiral rolled his eyes slightly. "Thanks... Where's Tim?"
"Admiral Zimmer is going to be a while; they're taking their time getting through the Strait of Gibraltar, staying as close as they can to the North African coast so as to not put the Euroslavian forces on high alert there."
Admiral Tarda frowned slightly, stroking his chin. "Hmm... I have an idea. Have Zimmer move one of the Type 22's, preferably the RIS Lemming, closer to the Euroslavic coast once most of the second fleet is by. I want the Lemming to make sure Euroslavia notices it; have it attack the coast."
The officer's eyes widened slightly. "But, Admiral.... That means we'll probably lose the Lemming and the Euroslavic navy will be put on alert and-"
"--and move their forces there to stop a potential Risban threat from passing through the Strait," said the Grand Admiral. "With the small distraction, our blockade should be able to last a little longer and buy Witzgall more time. Give the orders."
"Yes, sir!"

The Risban Imperial Third Fleet, the Strait of Gibraltar
Admiral Timothy Zimmer sighed as he received orders from Dublin. He looked out the window at the group of Type 22 frigates sailing alongside the Risban Command Cruiser and Albion Assault Ship. He had been ordered to sent the Lemming on a suicide mission.
He sent a message to Captain Kevin Geary on the Lemming. "Captain, you are to travel up to the coast of Spain with minimal crew and supplies. I want you to attack the first Euroslavic building you see."
Zimmer was very glad that many in the Emperor's Navy were fanatically loyal.

"We're being trailed everyone!" yelled a pilot in an F-16 Fighter Jet.

"Everyone, watch your asses. These guys have some decent equipment from my sight. Do your best, in what we practiced before."

"Roger."

It didn't seem that their training helped them as much, because the Witzgallian Air Force was beginning to out-run them. It was time to take evasive manuevers...Unfortunately though, three F-16's were knocked out of the sky, including the pilot who warned of the enemy aircraft. Two of the F-12C Advanced Attack Jets were hit with missiles as well, and six Yahweh attack helicopters fell soon after. The remaining F-16's and attack helicopters each launched their own missiles to take out the Witzgallian pests.

The F-117 Stealth Bombers, however, took a completely different approach, seeing as they strayed from the pack. They began to pass over their target city. Half of the Bombers immediately went towards power sources while the other half targetted suspected military factories.

As the air battle continued, 7 ZaS-27M Thunderbirds were shot down while trying to shake the trailing enemy, however, they were able to launch a massive missile barrage against the enemy Air Force. Now if the missiles were going to be successful was a completely different story.

Meanwhile, in the Second Battle Group, another battle enraged between Euroslavic forces and Witzgallian forces. There was a semi-different approach here, for the Euroslavic Air Force. It was decided that power sources would be the first thing to take out, and the stealth bombers would take care of that as well, however, maneuvers of the Second Battle Group were far superior to the first. The best trained pilots were always classified as part of this group. Their goal was a massive strike against the oncoming enemy Air Force before they could make a formation. Each and every one of the aircraft fired a missile, besides the Stealth Bombers, that went towards the power sources.

Finally, the Third Battle Group seemed as if it were un-noticed. They flew towards the three targets, with the stealth bombers moving over Power Plants, as well as other major power sources, and dropped their payloads. Each of the other pilots stood by while this occurred, and were shocked at how enemy resistance hasn't arrived yet. Something was wrong...

The Numen Vs were stampeded by the missile volleys of the enemy. Many were dodged, but roughly twenty six Numen Vs were shot down. The F-22 Raptors and Numen IVs began to enage the stealth bombers with AIM-120Cs and various other anti-air missiles.

"We have hostiles, all over the blipper." a pilot said, referring to his radar.

The sky was filled with black explosions and flak caused by the numerous anti-air guns below at ground level. 88mm cannons fired into the sky, as well as guided missiles, attempting to takeout anything that could cause damage.

Two nuclear reactors were demolished by the bombers, and over six hundred civilians were killed. Numerous military officials were also killed, as a fort was located inside one of the numerous targeted cities.

"There's another group, attacking smaller cities!" exclaimed a officer inside of a bunker in Paris.

In Germany, B52s, B2s, and other planes were being routed around France and towards Ireland. They were ordered to circle around Ireland and bomb Portugal with utmost secrecy.

The pilots entered their crafts with haste, and the engineers and crewmen wheeled the planes out of their hangars and onto the airstrips.

"Operation Gift Wrapped is a go, all planes to leave. Enroute Inferno na terra." the speakers sounded.
"Inferno na terra?" an engineer asked his crewmaster.
"Hell in the land, its Portugese." the crewmaster said, checking the coutnermeasures of the B52.
"Ah...kind of ironic, isn't it?"
"Not at all."

The pilots were being briefed on their operation as the crews checked out every detail of their repected planes.

The massive airbases in Germany were all ready to launch the secret assault on Portugal.

The planes and pilots would carpet bomb the entire nation, going from north to south, killing anything they could. Some thought of this as pointless and suicidal, but to the Furher this was gold. Without Portugal, Spain would be basically on its own. Andorra was falling quite smoothly, and Morocco was not yet a threat.

As the pilots left their briefing, they began to talk to each other about the mission, about family, how they would be missed on Christmas. Even if the mission was successful and everyone was survived, they would need to stay at the base for at least another two weeks.

Two hours later...
The massive plane force flew towards Portugal from the north. They split up into several groups, all who would drop their payloads at seperate times.

As they came around to the northern tip of Spain, a radio operater requested their nation of origin.

"We are from The Silver Turtle, routing supplies to Portugal. We request a landing strip to be cleared." a pilot said into his radio.

The pilots were all nervous as they neared Portugal, and awaited a response from the Spanish operater.

The 26th Gepanzert rolled into El Serrat. They fired off MLRS rounds like the 18th did, but after firing the rockets the 26th Gepanzert approached the city quickly. Witzgall was penetrating Andorra swiftly and with much force.

Resistance was expected, but so far none was seen. This was very suspicious, but Colonel Pusk brushed it off. It made for a swift victory and less casualties, he thought to himself.

On the Colonel's left arm was the standard "Badge of Honor" (http://www.armystudyguide.com/uniforms/branch_insignia/images/Image51.gif), the greatest accomadation handed to a man of the Witzgallian Army. He brushed some dust off of his badge as his vehicle drove towards El Serrat.

The soldiers ahead of him walked at a steady pace, keeping alert to any enemy forces in the area.

Surely there had to be some sort of force in all of Andorra... the Colonel thought.

The "Have Black" Project was launched. Sixty two B9 Sphinx (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=384467) advanced bomber planes flew from Germany. Their destination: The heart of Spain.

The planes, flying in a 'V' formation, looked like a flock of seagulls leaving Germany and flying southwest through France and heading towards Spain. Even if they appeared as seagulls going Mach 2...

The B9 Sphinx were closely guarded by five squads of Numen Vs (http://s4.invisionfree.com/The_NC_Forum/index.php?showtopic=271). The Numen Vs weaved back and fourth, not doing their max speed by a longshot.

The countermeasures on both planes were state of the art, and they prayed that the Sphinx would prove itself worthy.

The payload of the B9s was perfect to takeout large quantities of buildings. Twenty eight of the bombers carried 42 500lb "dumb bombs", and eighteen of them carried a mix of 500lb and 250lb bombs. The other sixteen B9s carried CALCMs and ALCMs.

The stealth provided excellent as the Layartreb-made planes flew over French radar screens, set up to test the B9's performance.

"Pharaoh Six, your RCS is roughly point zero one square feet." said a radar operator, speaking with the lead pilot of the B9s.
"Roger that. Continuing patrol. Silence the radars, boys." the pilot responded, speaking to both his comrade pilots and the radar stations.
"Roger. Going nocturnal." another pilot responded.

The planes flew in the dead of night. They were masked by both excellent stealth technology and the moonless sky of the night.

"Last slipcourier reports that the meeting is underway. We have a high opinion of Natalya de Greif, she has proven herself and her empire a highly valuable ally many times.
We are pleased to aid you. We have word that Dumpsterdam wishes to surrender, so extra naval forces are now on the table. With these, your nations sovereignty is assured.
I don't know if you are familiar with our armed forces, so I shall brief you. All our surface and aircraft have a Metus level 2 encrypted identifier codes that should be broadcast at all times excepting cases where it was compromise the detection of the craft, for example our stealth bombers. For these craft we have a different system which I won't go into. This is to ensure minimisation of friendly-fire; our automated ship defences have a faster response time than manually fired weapons would, but to ensure they don't shoot everything that moves we use a sophisticated ally/enemy identifier. I won't bore you with the details, but we are sending details of how you can perform this simply so that we won't engage your forces by accident. This will also ensure there are no "Trojan Horse" style attacks by the enemy. Our tenth naval fleet is now but a few hours journey away. It will attempt to establish naval superiority, and will hold the line until more forces arrive.
As for air forces; We request details on your airfields. While our hypersoars have a tremendous range, our conventional bombers have a limited one and as such will require airbases, to begin launching bombing runs on Witzgallian military bases near the border, which will proceed further in until they are unable to supply their frontline forces.. Additionally, long range carpet-bombing runs on major cities will be conducted by our heavy hypersoars operating from our airbases. I think I have covered everything, if you require further information it can be provided.

As the message was sent, the first wave of Flash class bombers took to the skies. One hundred and fifty of them were sent to each of the three major cities in the Witzgallian Empire; Rome, Berlin, and Paris. Each bomber carried a total of two hundred 500kg dumb bombs. With no stealth technology, they would be as visible on radar as anything that flies at an altitude of 60km. Their high cruisng speed meant also that few missiles could hit them, but their need to slow and descend a bit to deploy their ordinance meant they were vulnerable for crucial minute or two. They'd still be high and fast, but not as much as to be out of reach.

The bomber Rusty Doughnut was one of those assigned to the bombing of Paris. As the bombadiers looked at the magnified thermal image, they spotted one of the cities most famous landmarks.
{Coming into position, drop bombs within this thirty second window}
Joe smiled. A thousand-foot phallus. The Witzgallians must feel the need to compensate for something, espescially if they also wanted to enlarge their massive empire...
Grinning, he waitied until the targetting symbol was over the tower, and he released the bombs. Only a few would hit the tower, the rest would be strewn across the surrounding are, but even one would be enough to - he grinned at this last thought - to take them down in size...
His job done, he deactivated the targetting device and settled down to get an aerial view of the city before it was destroyed. Focussing on the Louvre, he almost laughed as the bombs smashed through the famous glass pyramids before detonating inside the museum. He could only wonder what was happening elsewhere...

IC:

The 18th and 26th Gepanzert divisions rolled through there cities and met up in Encamp. They had totally devestated the northern area of Andorra with "steel rain" launched from MLRS systems, tank launched shells, and artillery strikes.

The cities were reduced to ash and fire, the death count unknown. The two divisions rolled into Encamp, the city in the heart of Andorra.

"Resistance ahead, Colonel?" the Field Marshal asked.
"None spotted...this is very intriguing. We basically just stole this nation like a cookie from the jar. Easy pickings..." Colonel Figurre replied, taking his binoculars away from his eyes.

The 20,000 some odd troops from both divisions strolled into Encamp like it was Bryant Park in New York City. No resistance whatsoever, no police force or military detected at all.

"This is very strange...get the Fuhrer on the line." Figurre said, walking away from his command jeep and over to Colonel Pusk's.
"Hello Figurre. So nice to see you." Pusk said, stepping out of his jeep.
"Indeed. Is it me or is this whole 'no resistance' thing a little creepy?" Figurre asked.
"Nope. Andorra is not militaristic at all, and is a horrible position. I'm sure the Euroslavians were too worried about Spain and Portugal to care about Andorra."
"Hrm..."

The divisions rolled through Encamp, seeing nobody but the occasional civilians.

The carpet bombing of Andorra La Vella was a success, according to the force's commanding officer. Casualties were also unknown in that field, but they were expected to be very high, possibly in the thousands.

"Establish here until the 29th and 34th Gepanzert come from France...they should be here by tomorrow." said Figurre, grabbing the phone from the Field Marshal.
"Colonel Figurre?" the Fuhrer asked.
"Greetings from Andorra, sir. We have taken it halfway, and tomorrow the entire nation falls."
"Great to hear, Figurre. I must go now, but I will catch up on the situation tomorrow."
"Good day, Sir."
"Indeed it is."

The Second Fleet was dispatched for a completely separate reason, to block off the Gibraltar to Witzgall, making it more difficult for them to trade. Once a closure of the entire Strait occurs, more forces will move on to blockade France.

OOC: Those planes, going for the heart of Spain, despite their superior stealth, cannot avoid being spotted after flying so far over Spain. They're bound to be detected. I'm not saying that I'll be able to easily pin-point them, but things won't be that easy. I'm not gonna assume that just because I'm older, I have a better radar, in detecting stealth technology, but I've had more time in developing and purchasing such things from other people. Heck, once the Forums are working better, I'll pull up the thread of the purchase of my defenses.

IC: "Sir, we've got unknown amount of planes traveling over Spanish Air-Space. I can't quite get a lock on them, or tell exactly how many there are, or what they are for that matter. I've never experienced something like this before..."

"The only thing we can do right now is at least try and get some sort of lock on them, and fire our missiles, in hopes that we can hit a few of them down. Give it a little more time, and we should be able to get a better chance at hitting them, as they continue to travel. What direction are they heading for?"

"It looks like they're heading even further south, than the border. They could be going for Madrid."

"We need to do everything we possibly can to take these out. We cannot afford to be bombed in our capital at this point. Witzgall fails to realize that they have awakened a sleeping dragon. Euroslavia has never been fully tested in a time like this, and I'm afraid they don't realize what they're up against. It's time to show them that they made a huge mistake, and that they'd better be ready to lose a lot of territory."

"You're right sir, there isn't any possible way that we can lose this war."

"I'm not even sure that they're citizens are 100% informed about the way they declared war on us, I mean, we were allies, and suddenly, bang! Witzgall declares war. If anything, we should spread the truth to everyone within the Evil Witzgallian Empire, and we can definitely expect some sort of backlash against their current regime. Send an order to our Comrade that we need to send a few planes into Witzgall to drop leaflets across France, to show the travesties that their own beloved empire has done, especially the carpet bombing of Andorra."

"Yes, sir."

"Oh, and fire those missiles at the approaching aircraft, I have an idea...just as long as we can get within a small radius of them, I think we can destroy them. You'll see."

Each of the three groups of the Air Force continued with their campaign in taking out the power sources of each of the fairly large cities within France. Each group encountered a large resistance, and is currently engaging the enemy forces. Reinforcements were on the way, however, and the advantage would move into our favor. Exact replicas of each of the groups were being sent to more cities near the Spanish-French border, however, this time, more to the north, and slowly moving towards Paris. The main objective was to knock out power in a 'city-hopping' sort of manner, kinda like island-hopping if WW2 by the Americans, except within one major country.

First Battle Group
6 of the Stealth Bombers were shot down by anti-aircraft fire, and one was minorly damaged, however, it was still able to fly. Their mission was successful, in taking out the main nuclear reactors within the city, and now it was time to retreat back to Spain and re-fuel. The problem was avoiding the Witzgallian Air Force, however, currently, they were quite occupied with the growing amount of support for Euroslavia. It seemed as if, slowly, we were gaining the upper hand.

The remaining Superhornets and Tempests fired majority of their missiles in a short period of time, sending a massive barrage of fire against the Witzgallian Air Force, while retreating, as they tried to dodge them. An estimate on the amount of missile was approximately 100. The group then made formation, and took off, back to a base near the French-Spanish border, hoping for low casualties...

Risban Imperial First Fleet
"Damn it," cursed Eric Tarda under his breath as he read the reports about Euroslavia moving in to block Gibraltar. Luckily, the Second Fleet had made it out of the Mediterranean, abandoning the Lemming ruse. Unluckily, however, was the fact that Grand Admiral Tarda was planning on moving the First Fleet into the Mediterranean Sea, not following the plan originally set out between Imperial Command and Witzgall.
Most fortunately was the fact that Euroslavia knew nothing about Risban's original intentions in these waters. While they may know that Risban is giving Witzgall some money and food, Tarda hoped they thought it was out of payback for Witzgall's help in evacuating some civilians from Tunisia.
"Proceed with plans," ordered the Grand Admiral. "Continue to the Mediterranean."
"Pardon, sir, but what if Euroslavian ships stop us?" inquired a younger office.
"We merely state that we are a Risban fleet sailing from Ireland to Tunisia to aid in 'fixing' the country after that attack and relieving the Committee of Vigilance peacekeepers from their duty of protecting our people there," explained Tarda. "Now, let's move."

Having already been near Gibraltar, it did not take too long for the First Fleet to arrive.

Meanwhile, the Second Fleet stayed near Portugal, just outside the territorial waters, pretending to be involved in a series of war games and training excercizes.

OOC: Witzgall: I posted earlier that I didn't have one, but said where I usually RP from. Since you didn't complain then, and indeed since you posted your planes flying up to Ireland then turning around to approach Euroslavia attempting to impersonate my forces, I assumed it was fine.
You said Italy was part of your territory; since I've not seen a claims map, I merely assumed Rome was yours. I shall edit my post accordingly.
Oh, and if hypersoars are disallowed on the grounds of being post-modern, then half the stuff you've already used is too. In fact, just about anything used by "modern tech" nations, if it isn't RL tech, comes under post-modern, since it is more or less always designed to be better than RL stuff. Otherwise, why build it? It'd be better to use RL stuff.
Also, if my nation was RL, hypersoars would be possible today. A lack of funding and research limits modern technology. With my nations abilities (maybe an approximate 5 trillion yearly budget for the airforce alone), hypersoars are possible for my nation modern-techly.

OOC: They circled around Ireland (Risban territory) and came to portugal. Thats when they attempted to disguise themselves as Euroslavians. I also stated that 2012 tech is definetly post modern. Granted, in your views, everything is post modern. But usually in NS anything that before 2010 technology is considered "modern." If you wish to further this conversation, either TG me or IM me on AIM.
IC:

The B-9s kept their distance from the ground at 70,000ft. The radios were in dead silence. The Numen V guard jets were lower in altitude now, trying to distract all enemy forces by firing off missiles at the Euroslavian defenses.

"Pharaoh Two, come in Pharaoh Two. This is Pyramid Seven." the radio suddenly broke out of its eery silence.
"Roger that Pyramid Seven. You are breaking protocol." the pilot responded quickly.
"Pharaoh Two, we have a problem."
"Delta Code?"
"Nein. Pharaoh Two, you are being detected."

The pilot of Pyramid Seven looked at his radar, which showed miniscule dots and then one large dot, roughly eight times the size of the others.

"Shit. That's not good, gentlemen." the pilot of Pharaoh Two said in all anger.
"Run the ECM, Pharaoh Two." the pilot of Pyramid Six chimed in.
"Roger that."

The radios once again grew into an eery silence. Then, just ten minutes later, the silence was broken.

"Pharaoh Two, how ya holdin' up?"
"We're doin' fine."
"Great to hear it. Osiris One, Osiris One. Come in Osiris One. This is Pyramid Three."
"Roger that PT. This is Osiris."
"Launch the 'cascade' in ten."
"Roger."

The word 'cascade' reffered to the massive ECMs the Osiris One B-9 bomber carried. Roughly four 10,000lb ECM bombs were packed into the Osiris One, two in each front bay. The plane also carried fifty five 500lb standard dumb bombs in the rear bay.

"Nine..." the countdown initiated.

The radio grew intensly silent, as if suddenly the murderer in a bad movie would come out of the darkness and claim his next victim.

"Eight..."

All of the pilots looked side to side, monitoring their allies. They all waited in the dark sky for a go code.

"Seven..."

Only seven more seconds before hell was upon Spain. A blade would pierce the nation's heart after those seven seconds.

"Six..."

Six. Six. Six. Satan's calling. The B-9s were now the devil's advocate, sent to take souls in his name.

"Five..."

Five more seconds. The call was soon upon the pilots who strained in the silence, waiting for the final "push" of war.

"Four..."

The pilots still held their tight formation, still holding their unbelievably silent radio conversations. Only the countdown was heard. The bomb bays began to open.

"Three..."

The sky was so empty, or it appeared to be. No moon, no clouds. Only the bombers flew in that sky, along with their escorts.

"Two..."

Almost there. So close. Death was upon Spain, death upon them all. Death to all of the Euroslavians. Their last chance for surrender was upon them. They had but one second.

"One..."

The bomb bays were all open now.

"Release."

That was the go code. The ECMs flew out of Osiris One, and not three seconds later did the small bombs held in the rear bay fall into the sky, destined to hit Madrid.

The other planes began to drop their bombs on the city, as well as nearby defensive sites.

"PULL!" shouted one pilot, after his munitions were dropped.

That was the signal to "Get the Hell outta Dodge" after you had launched your payload. Witzgall didn't want any casualties in this mission, and so far that was successful.

Department of External Affairs,
Kramden of West Cedarbrook

In light of the war in Europe, the West Cedarbrook Navy will escort our transatlantic shipping to landfall in the Azores Islands. Surface coverage by the West Cedarbrook Navy now extends to 40 degrees West. Our eastermost point is currently covered by the carrier group Zakopane, accompanied by carrier groups Circleville and Mayfield.

West Cedarbrook air escort will continue from 40 degrees West, 40 degrees North to Azores landfall. Shipping will continue from that point under protection of the Euroslav Navy.

We urge the belligerent parties in Europe to resolve this war by negotiation and offer services to this end. President Steinberg has made clear our sympathies in this conflict and our resolve to defend the Kramden.

The Fuhrer steps up to his oak podium in Munich, just outside of the Council Building. He walks up to the masses of microphones the press has put atop his small podium, and begins to speak.

"This war has gone on with no clear victory in sight. I am appalled at the amount of civilian casualties we and the Euroslavians have suffered. I call upon Comrade Maloney, leader of the Euroslavian Empire, to agree with me to a cease-fire until diplomatic talks can be arranged and carried out. That is all I have to say."

Being straight to the point as he always is, the Fuhrer left the podium and entered his limosine, guarded by two Hummers and a few police cars.

We hope that the war in southern Europe may be solved by diplomatic peace talks.

However, we have closed our borders in the southern part of Sweden, and we have military ships patrolling the southern Baltic Sea, Skagerrack, Kattegatt and the North Sea (all of ‘em are waters south/west of Sweden and Norway). This is just in case, because the Witzgall empire is not far away from the southern part of Sweden.

Three B-9s, while a relatively small force, flew over France maintaining maximum stealth capabilities. Behind them were B-52H's, massive bombers with a large payload of ALCMs.

Death was upon Spain once again as the bomber force (Reffered to as the 17th Annihilation Force) flew to the Spanish border. Doing a routine SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses) mission, the bombers flew in the darkness of New Years Eve.

"Quite a new years gift, I must say." said one of the pilots over the radios.
"Heh. I would prefer wine, but this will do." replied another.
"Shut up, you two. Maintain silence. You can squabble on the way home."
"Roger. Initiating code Delta Six."

The planes flew in absolute silence. With special gifts for the Euroslavians tucked into their bays, the planes were going to celebrate the new year with quite a "bang".

On many of the BLU-82s inside of some of the B-52Hs and B-9s were some phrases written. Five or more stated "Pathemata Mathemata", which means "One learns from suffering" in Greek.

"Happy New Years from the Empire." said one of the pilots of a B-9 as they crossed the border into Spain.

Hopefully the Euroslavians weren't expecting another assault, but it wasn't certain...

Witzgall seemed to think that its strategies were throwing Euroslavia off course, however, we knew exactly what they had planned. The bombing of Madrid, a city far from the border of France was not only unstrategic, it was pure insanity. There was no chance that Witzgall ground forces would advance that far. As a matter of fact, Euroslavic forces about to begin their assault into the borders of France. That, however, was another story...

"Sir, those bombers are approaching Madrid."

"Remember those missiles I told you to fire?"

"Yea, I just fired them a second ag..."

"Exactly." the General interrupted. "Just checkin to see if you're paying attention."

The soldier gave the General an odd glance, then returned to normal.

"Those missiles are state of the art, remote controlled bombs. It's an experimental project. You said before that we could get a brief lock on the advancing enemy targets, right?"

"Yea, for only a few seconds."

"Good. Those calculations that I asked you for, the targets speed, formation, and direction. Do you have them?"

"Yea." It finally clicked in the soldiers' head. They could only get a brief lock on them to fire at the targets, so they were going to launch many missiles at once, into the formation of the targets, and detonate them strategically so that a dead on hit wasn't needed.

"Alright, get a lock on all of the targets, and fire when you think it'll hurt the formation the most. Do it as fast as you can, but be accurate. I trust that you'll do what you do best."

The soldier was really nervous. This whole system was new to him, however, he was always good at predictions and estimations. The thirty missiles that were launched were well on their way. Many things raced through his head. Was he going to completely mess everything up? Would the destruction of Madrid be his fault? All he knew was that he needed to do his best calculations at this point. You either get it right, or you lose.

He hit the button that triggered the bombs to go off, and he felt very good about it. He couldn't have gone wrong with this one. The missiles were launched in a specific formation as to have a chain effect upon the invisible formation, and send them into disarray.

Minelayers left port. They were'nt interested in mining the entire Spanish and Portugese coast, there was little point. A land invasion could already be done. They had one goal; the straight of Gibraltar. Providing cover numerous fighters were launcher, along with several escort cruisers, frigates, and submarines. Small battlegroups blocked off each end, consisting of two Iowa battleships, one missile battleship, one carrier, and a few cruisers, destroyers and frigates for support.
Meanwhile, troops and armour continued to pour into Euroslavia, convoys protected by fighter cover and mobile SAM systems. The seventh and eighth armies were headed for the Franco/Spanish border, where they would prepare for the assault on Witzgall.
A cruise missile attack was also launched. Any significant Witzgallian military holdings within a 2500km range of Porto (missile battleships stationed there) was subjected to a barrage of Tomahawk missiles.

Naturally Id make missiles capable of both with a little developement. Infact if you gave us this discount at a low price we would develope this for you. Naturally it would only work on larger missile systems, such as our anti aircraft vehicles (which mount racks of larger missiles), defences and ship mounted systems. That way if our enemy have really sophisticated defence we can counter it if conventional missiles fail to make a reasonable hit rate.

From the Chicago Tribune, Friday, December 31, 2004

The President concluded addressing the Senate Trade Committee on the impact of the current Eurpoean War.

"We see a lull in hostilities now. But we cannot conclude that this is any more than the end of a probing action by both sides. In any event, the impact on our overseas trade has been drastic. We believe this has been caused throughout the year by fighting in the Mediterranean and Black Seas, and more recently by the closure of the straits of Gibraltar and entrances to the Baltic. I wish that this will improve in 2005, but cannot expect much in that respect. At this time no shipping has been lost. But the accessibility of ports throughout Europe is badly reduced."

In concluding remarks, Committee Chairman Bernstein thanked the President and again offered strong support for the policy of preparedness and naval escort. The ranking opposition committee member, Roger Diamond deferred closing remarks to Ronald Roseman, third term Conservative from Westchester County, New York.

"While all of us appreciate the necessary and prudent actions to defend the Kramden," he stated, "there is a growing need to find and secure markets that are less vulnerable to interruption. It is hoped that the Administration will make as major an effort in promoting our industries, protecting our workers, and providing for our prosperity as it has in attending to these overseas problems. We will be eager to see what the President can propose in this respect next year. Let's not forget, our responsibility is to the people of West Cedarbrook first."

Response from Senators afterward was mixed. To a man, all the majority Libertarians polled were in strong support of President Steniberg's policies. Conservatives were split. But a growing number of the Conservative rank and file appeared interested in Roseman's message. At this time the depth of that support cannot be determined, and whether it is based in any form of isolationism which has plagued the Conservatives, or in the hope of a new standard bearer after their calamatous defeat by President Steinberg in the 2002 Presidential election.

In Paris, many riots and protests have broken out in the past two weeks. Civil unrest is becoming far too much for the police to handle. To date, over twenty police officers and riot control police have died. Over one hundred civilians have become deceased, as well.

The Council of the Empire is becoming a bitter debate center. Today, the Fuhrer adresses the world in a speech that Witzgall has never given. A speech...of surrender.

The Fuhrer appears on over a million television screens, worldwide. These televisions rest in homes of civilians, military officials, and even the barracks on the front. Everyone watches intently.

"Men and women of this fine world. I come here to discuss great disruption in the Empire of Witzgall, and the massive amounts of chaos. These violent delights have violent ends. With such, I am announcing the recession of Witzgall from Andorra, as well as all other Euroslavian territories. We will cease all acts of agression and warfare on the nation and empire of Euroslavia." the Fuhrer said.

The Fuhrer glanced into the crowd as massive amounts of flashes from the cameras went into his eyes and nearly blinded him.

"And with this announcement, I also wish to make another statement. Come January twentieth, I will no longer be the leader of this fine Empire. I am receding from my so called throne, and allowing my greates comrade, Joseph Pimmlot, the chance to oversee our fine citizens. I trust him with my heart, with my soul. He will do right. He will succeed where I have truly failed."

The Fuhrer knodded his head, and dismissed all questions. He was lead back to his office by the security guards and his staff.

The Comrade of Euroslavia had just received word of the leader of Witzgall, making a speech over the surrender of his nation. Thank goodness for TiVo, because he would have missed the first half of the speech. His secretary turned on the television, and they began to listen with the utmost respect.

With such, I am announcing the recession of Witzgall from Andorra, as well as all other Euroslavian territories. Everyone was in shock. The war had barely begun, and Witzgall was ready to surrender. Euroslavia had yet to begin its ground invasion after the Air Force paved the way.

"I suppose it'll save a lot of lives on our part. Finally, he came to his senses, thanks to all of the riots in Witzgall. I need to make this announcement to the entirety of Euroslavia. They'll rejoice."

The Comrade waited for his Secretary to get a camera, and the crew ready, which suprisingly, only took 4 minutes. There was always a team ready in case an emergency occurred.

"Greetings comrades. It is with my pleasure that the war between our mighty nation and Witzgall has ended, with their surrender. This is a time to rejoice, as not only our war efforts prevailed, but our propoganda to support an uprising within Witzgall succeeded. Now our nation can rebuild itself, especially with all of the losses in Andorra. It is time to unite together, in the spirit of being victorious over an enemy whose original intentions were to wipe our entire nation out. Europe has become a safer place.

At the same time though, in the spirit of cooperation, we will initiate efforts to help the rebuilding of Witzgall, and unlike most wars, we will not be inflicting any sort of restrictions on them. We were formerly allies, and we need to work together, to figure out what went wrong, and fix it. Today will forever be known as E-Day!"

The speech was ended. Throughout all of the houses in Euroslavia, people were cheering and rejoicing for the war that was won. It was time to start over, united with the rest of Euroslavia, in a time of peace. People never could understand the great joy of peace, until they themselves had gone through war...

The Sovereign People of the Federal Republic of Vas Pokhoronim, in the interests of furthering European amity and peace, will contribute as we can to the rebuilidng process in both nations, if they will have our help.
We are immediately capable of deploying three medical and two engineering regiments to the affected areas, and can airlift food and medical supplies to displaced civilians, and remove refugees to safer areas. It is not our policy to meddle in the internal affairs of other nations, so the Witzgallenreich and the Euroslavian government may handle their own security matters without interference or judgment on our part.
We congratulate the two powers on their decision to peacefully resolve their dispute, and offer our hopes that this heralds the coming of a new era of peace and prosperity upon our continent.
With respect and honor,
Germann Herceg, Federal Minister of External Affairs, RVP

Official Statement, Imperial Government

The Democratic Imperium is deeply concerned as to the future of the Witzgallian Reich. We wish to be reassured that it will not be dismantled or demilitarised to the point that it can no longer defend its own borders. We are willing to pledge billions of Praefelis and several battalions of peacekeepers in order to help the reconstruction effort. We also hope that the Euroslavian armed forces will support the legitimate government and not the French insurgents in the Witzgallian civil war.

I started a "civil war" in my Earth III Empire. That is the link. If you wish to, follow that story...
