IC: Josh walked into he huge arena that had once been a Greek Theater. He smiled and scanned the walls full of greek writings. He was the first person to set foot here for over 2000 years, and he had his duty, find the scrolls and burn the place.

The Teacher had given him this instruction, this sacred task and he would not fail.

"Lamdan, what do you make of this?" the Sultan called out. Lamdan, his secretary, ran in and glanced at the scan.

"Sir, it's some Greek ruins."

"What are they doing in Bulgan though?"

"Obviously the Greeks went to Bulgan at some point."

"Why didn't we see this before?"

"They're ruins. They've only just been discovered, it appeared there was a volcanic eruption here about 2000 years ago. That's why the Bulgan mines are so prosperous."

"What do we do with them?"

"Well, you might want to send in an archaeologist to look at them."

"Pah! Archaeologists aren't fit for something like this! SEND IN THE NAVY!"

"Sir, we don't have a navy. Now where did I put your pills? Now, I'm going to schedule an archaeologist for you. OK?"

"Yeah, if you insist. But quite frankly, a battle-cruiser could do a lot better when it comes to ruining things...." Sultan Makleev Kradal trailed off. Lamdan gave him the pills.

"Are you feeling better now?"

"Yes, my son's an archaeologist! Schedule him! His e-mail's kradalj@dundurnet.mn. He lives with my wife still. He's very good with a battleship!" The pills weren't all-powerful.

"If you insist." Lamdan sent a message. Once he had clicked send, it took him a few minutes to tune his conscious mind to the Sultan's babbling.

"Wait a sec.....you have a wife?" He clicked back on the e-mail urgently, but to no avail. Kradal's son had been hired.

"He's just like me." said the Sultan.

That spelt disaster. Now all Lamdan could do was wait for it to come.

---------------------------------------------------

Handal Kradal stood at the entrance to the ruins. A tunnel in Bulgan Mining Complex had collapsed, revealing these ruins. No-one had even known about them before. And he was here, with his shovel, equipment and miniature battleship, and he was going to.....going to.....what did archaeologists do again?

Josh heard footsteps in the tunnel behind him, someone was making a lot of noise and not being very stelthy, taking out his knife he edged forward, keeping to the shadows.

Someone was stood there but the sun sheilded his fetures. The someone had what looked like a spade, bulky equipment and .... a miniture battleship, how likly was that?

He decided to hide in the shadows and wait for a bit longer.

Handal ambled through the cave.

"Echo. Echo! ECHO! Heehee!" He shouted a bit more and walked on, trailing the battleship behind him. It was a quirk, they ran in his family, like the Sultan's addiction to breaking wine bottles over things. The battleship was on wheels and was about 5 feet tall, 15 feet long.

"ECHO! ECH-"

A spade appeared from behind a column and smashed into Handal's face. He fainted and collapsed. The battleship trundled on into the darkness.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

The battleship hit the cave wall with a thump. A head emerged from the hatch, somewhat dazed. Lamdan sighed. Why the hell did he have to be here? Well, to protect Handal, but only because the Sultan ordered him too. Look on the bright side. Perhaps he'd get a promotion and be freed from having to attend to the bottle-breaking, eccentric Sultan. Dammit. Lamdan seriously doubted it. How many times did it have to be him that did the dirty work? HE was the one who had to deal with the Krakyat crisis, HE had to prepare defenses when Santa Claus went on a random killing spree while the Sultan went to a bloody party, and now he was stuck inside a plastic monstrosity. Well, life goes on. Now, what the hell hapened to Handal. Frankly, who cares? Lamdan closed the hatch and continued to monitor Handal's activities.

OOC: Okay so theres a man inside the battleship, okay... Cool. How old is this guy?

IC: Josh sighed, this guys was just a kid really with all that echo buisness, he was certain that he was no threat, but he might stop Josh from carrying out The Teachers instructions.

Josh waited until the guy was just about to cross the collom, then, taking a deep breath he swung the spade as hard as he could. It came with a loud Thwack onto the Battleship blocks head. The guy collapsed, dropping the battleship handle. The battleship trundled down a slight incline wntil he it the wall with a thud.

But Josh didn't notice, he was already down on his knees searching the kid over. Basic archology gear, a spade nothing dangerous. Probly just a explorer. He took a icepack out of his bag and placed it on the guys forehead,, god forbid he was Killed! Killing was against the Creeds rules. If he had killed him he would have been thrown out for sure.

Hurt when you are threatened, do not kill , that was in The Book.

Josh waited for the guy to awake and then he could question him. And find out what that battleship was about...

OOC: I tend to get a bit surreal in RPing, and since this is a character roleplay, I thought I wouldn't restrain myself. The guy's Lamdan, the Sultan's [reluctant] secretary. He's about 35.

He's also the character I'll be [mainly] RPing with in this.

IC: Lamdan peered from the little battleship's miniature hatches. Suddenly he could make something out in the darkness. It was.....the recumbent figure of Handal......Bugger, the Sultan's going to kill me..... He then noticed another man beside Handal, presumably the man who caused the collapse. ......if I don't get killed first by that guy.....*gulp*

While the man was waiting, Lamdan snuck out on hand and foot from the roll-on-roll-off hatch in the battleship. Time to...err......'retreat', let's say.... Then, while the man was still occupied next to Handal, Lamdan disappeared into the shadows of the Greek complex.

OOC: How olds the other one? I need to know, after all if I call him kid when he's 60 odd, then it makes me look like a fool.

IC: Josh turned, drawing a throwing knife from his belt, something had moved in the darkness. "Show yourself!" he yelled at the dark, "And I won't hurt you."

The hive had descoverd a civilisation in a distant system that led them to belive that some scrolls of great importance in the activation of the atlantian like civlisation. They had already dispatched a lictor to secure the area and an avatar was inbound via deepspace asteroid well jump.

OOC: 16. And mentally challenged. ;)

IC: Lamdan crawled a bit more on hands and feet. He heard a shout behind him.

""Show yourself! And I won't hurt you."

He stopped. Stay still...stay still. Lamdan stayed close to the ground. He wasn't going to confront that guy as long as he lived.

"Don't move away! Or I'll throw! STOP!"

What? I'm not moving!

There was a whoosh and the clang of a knife richocheting from the hard surface behind him, and a cry. Something.....almost un-worldy.... scuttled off into the darkness.

In the confusion, Lamdan crawled into the darkness and away from view. What the hell was that?

Josh decided he's go and investigate later, the kid was waking up. Josh waited until he had mostly regained his senses and then shook him, hard. "Where the hell are you from?" He yelled at the kid. The guy looked blankly at him. "Where are you from?" He asked again.

"Where's the battleship?" came the reply.

A evil smile came onto Josh's face. "I'm going to use it as kindling, however if you tell me where you come from and your name I won't."

ic> The blade spiraled towards the lictor - it was a little confused by this and then the blade slammed into it cutting along its flank before dropping out onto the ground where the creatures acidic blood began to corrode the blade. Screaming the creature backed 6 meters down the dark coridor.

"NO! Not the battleship! I'll tell you!"

"Then where do you come from, and what's your name?"

"I'm from near here! My name is Chicken Stew." Handal replied, with a smile on his face. He was oblivious to the fact that he'd given two incorrect answers. He was actually from Dund-Ur mental hospital.

----------------------------------------------------

Lamdan had been equiped with a pair of night-vision goggles by the Sultan to help keep track of Handal, not that he intended to. He'd also been equiped with a pneumatic drill and a rubber chicken, but he left those in the battleship. However, he had salvaged the night-vision goggles while the man was pre-occupied, and was now well into the tunnel complex. He had reached another large, open area in the ruins. The whole place was empty, eerie. Suddenly, on the night-vision display, something flickered. A chill shot up Lamdan's spine. Was he really alone?

The guy was odviusly a loo, or he was lying and hiding something, Josh knew he had little choice, "Stay here." He ordered 'Chicken Stew' he made his way down the hill towards the battleship.

"Ooh look what I have."
"Thats mine you spirit."
"Fine I'll give it you if you tell me your real name and really were you are from."
"Nope. I already have."
"Fine it'd be horrible for me to drop your little friend into the fire right here."

Lamdan hard screams. One was from the unknown being, although it seemed more like a howl. The other was, he noticed, from the kidnapper. The words "Toasted Chicken Nachos!" echoed through the cave. Good. Handal had obviously hurt him or knocked him out. He wasn't sticking around to find out what the other thing was. He shot up, sprinted towards Handal, and grabbed his arm. Handal brushed him aside, noticing something under the gravel and dust. Lamdan impatiently dragged him on. Handal picked up whatever it was and follwed him out of the cave. There was another howl behind him. Out. Good. As they ran on, over the sand dunes and across the Erdenet ring-road, he noticed what Handal had found. It was a bunch of scrolls. Oh well, at least the SUltan would be pleased that he'd found something.

Josh awoke and looked up, the scrolls, they where gone. looking behind him, he saw one of his attackers with them under his arm. Climbing to his feet he gave chase.

OOC: I find it hard to belive that, what would have to have been only a few minutes at the most after being hit over the head with a pneumatic drill that your character would be up and running. But I'll let it pass. ;)

IC: Lamdan and Handal reached the Erdenet ring road. Handal insisted on stopping, but Lamdan wanted to distance himself as far from the cave as possible. They waited by the side of the motorway, and quickly sprinted across, dodging cars. From behind them came a screech and a crash of windows. One of the cars which had just passed behind them, Lamdan noticed, had careered into another car, the result of a knife crashing through the window and narrowly missing the driver. It looked familiar. Whatever it was, it must have been aimed at either him or Handal. In the pile-up, they crossed the ring-road and entered the outskirts of the city. No stopping - straight to the Sultan's office.

OOC: This is getting a bit boring. Who else said theywould join on the OOC topic? :(
