Dawn of an Empire ((FT))

In a sector of space, a fair distance away from any known empire, it a small planet covered in jungle. Becuase of this planets atmospheare, as well as a large number of other aspects, the hole planet is in the from that earth was before the Dinosours died out. THe Entire planet was covered in steeming jungles, and the planet was almost a full water body, with lakes, rivers, laggons and the like consiting of 69% of the surface. With this in mind, many people may wonder how civilisation could be born, considering that mamles are almost non-existant on this world.
That, is simple, with the dinosaurs never dieing out, they evolved, and in the end, one speiceis stood dominent. These where the Slann, the amphibious creatures that where linked with the life of the universe. They where created by an empire long ago, using genetic seeds, and when this empire died out, they continued on. They where large and bloated, resebaling a frog, and where slowly becoming trapped within their Temple cities. When a group of humans from space destroyed one of these cities, they knew something must be done.
The Slann where a resorsful race, and they had learned much of the technology that the Old ones had left behind. They became interested in the creation of Sentinet life, and after a long debate, decided to create two races from the genetic codes of the local creatures.
For the next fifty years, this was tested, and the failures where in the hundreds. But in the end, two races stood out. One that where perfect for fighting, using the DNA of three powerful predators, and the skinks, ones that where fast and posionse. These began mast breeding, and the old ones technology was copied, so that the warriors would have weapons with witch to fight.
That had been hardly 5 years ago mused Slann Corak. Now they had compleat control of the planet, and the first star ship was in the final stages of its hatching. When teh Skinks and Sauras had been unable to work out how to piolit the Old ones ships, they had begun to create a creature in their designs. Risky, but would be worthwhile if it worked. Now, the egg shell fell away, and five million of the Sauras and Skinks had gahtered. The last of the shell broke away, and a starship was laying there. There was a cheer, and Corak knew he had to concider things, so, his promise to the council had to be kept, the Old ones would be found. Lustrinia was born.

Above the jungle planet, a rift opened, and a warship popped out. It was a destroyer, on a standard exploration mission.
"Looks habitable, although there is a thick atmosphere and it is a bit warm."
"nonsense, a human could live there. Should we call it?"
"Fine, call it."
After several minutes, a larger, bulbous ship jumped in-system, flanked by two corevett-sized ships.

OOC You don't mind some fantasy stuff do you? Since the Slann magic is a large amount of our power. Also, you will need to respect that in the early days, eg now, ALL of the pop was made to defend the Slann, they are a 5 year old race, so scocity is yet to dawn on them.
IC Corak watched as the ship tried its first flight, its huge mass lifting off the ground with precises ease. It was one with the other Lizard men, it understood its task, and would compleat it without problem. The whole thing was sentinet, and it was getting used to all its skills. When it clearedthe atmopheare, it had no problem with the lack of air, since it was designed not to need that.
From the Atillia, a clear amount of bone and skin that could be classed as the Bridge on a normal ship, the Sauras Temple guard saw the other ship. He walked over to the Immuclius, a brain wave transfere that was the ships communication device, worked by sending brain waves directly into the targets mind.

This is General Thorat of the Concordiat Colony Group-119. We are on a routine exploration/colonization mission, and preliminary scans indicated that this planet is habitable by humans. Since you, apparently, are already on this planet, we can move on. However, one of our corevetts was damaged, and can go no farther. Can you repair it? Or, better yet, allow us to land?

OOC Ok, Magic can't do that much, unless it is against your ground forces, but if it was really powerful, there would be no reason for the Sauras. Also, please assume the hissing, I can't be bothered to do it ALL the time.
IC The Temple guard was the oldest of his kind. He was the first, and had the same position of King among the warriors. Yet he was still confused. Colonize? corevetts? Land? The only one that had a meaning was the last, and he had to cheak with the Slann, he was not that powerful.
-Hans on, Stop your ships. He hissed, before he sent a message to Corak.
-There is some things like our new brother asking to land.- He's message said. What should I do?
-Continue your orders, and tell them they will be allowed to land at Tlaxtlan. Came the Calm reply.
-Yes wise one-
-Unknown people, you may land at the Temple city, my masters lights will guide you, please don't land anywhere else, we are yet to have the majoty of the planet held, so to land anyhwere else would be dangorus. Thank you.- With that, the Lethailin creature began to move around the planet, discovering its new body.

understood. Our ships are inboud. However, the colony ship will stay in orbit, as well as the destroyer. Our ships are fragile, in gravity, you understand. Also, on board the landing corevett, there is a special item. Do not harm it, or come within five meters, as it is automated.
The general was worried about sending the Bolo to the planet, but he had no choice. The corevett was the only ship outfitted to carry it. Something bothered him though. He couldn't remember what it was, but he had the sinking feeling that it was bad. Very, very bad.

Space crystallised in a most peculiar way, becoming shiny and opaque, a region of space more than two hundred kilometres long simply disappeared, replaced by a gaping hole, rimmed with the coronas of a million protostars.
The darkness then rapidly disappeared, seemingly sucked into the hull of an immense ship, bristling with lights, armour, sensors and weaponry.
The Tradeship slowly twisted upon its gigantic axis, and sent out upon every channel its message.
'Greetings, we have come to trade.'

When the ships reached the Temple city, they would have seen nothing but the clearing where the Egg had hatched and the Form of lord Corak (http://oz.games-workshop.com/games/warhammer/lizardmen/catalog/images/Slann_Mage_Priest_c.gif) He used his magic to move slowly across the ground towards the damaged ship. He Guard where hiddn in the trees, posioned Darts in their blowpipes ready, swords unbuckled. It was not that they ment to be so careful, but never had they seen another race. When the men steped down, Corak's bloated face did something like a smile.
"Welcome to the City of Tlaxtlan" He rummbled. "Your ship is very advanced, we have yet to discover how to move through space, the ship you encountered being our first of the breeding prosses." He did the strange immatation fo a smile again. "Follow me please, you can have some men guide my skinks in what to do. They will follow orders." He then turned and hovered off, not seeing if they followed, while from the surrounding trees, a number of green and blue shapes came out. The Temple guard jumped, this was the second time in one day. THe hatching of their first ship made something special in the universe, obviously. He felt strange, his ship was huge, but had only the basic idea of how its body worked. The Sauras moved back to the Immuclius, targeting the new ship arrivle.
-To the new ship, I must ask you to stay where you are, our leaders a currently busy, and I may not make that kind of desision on my own.- He then considered it, the Slann where different with him, they taught him how to do all the things they could do, they had chosen him to go on thei voyage. He was the most powerful of their race, larger then any human, although at the time not by much. He was made to lead, wasn't he? He understood trading, it happened between the different Cities, so, why could he not choose?
-We would like to negotiage, as such, I am asking you to send someone to the city of Tlaxtlan, the largest city on the planet, blessed by the god of all gods Tlazqolt. he then continued the ships movement, showing it its new body.

The rumbling volley before the ship announced its intent sounded like a small Earthquake.
'We shall send our Transport Calliope. It will have our Ambassador and a small contingent of Merchants aboard.' Reported the ship, even as the tiny (In comparison to the Tradeship's own ludicrously large bulk) Calliope was borne from one of the myriad hangars upon the hull.
It made a few quick calculations and within seconds was hurtling towards the planet below.

A slipspace rupture appeared as 15 Covenant Cruisers appeared. They glided through space silently as they made their way towards the defensless planet.
On board the command ship, elites where working steady to moniter the activity around the planet. The commander looked through the window at the planet as another elite approched him. "Sir, there appears to be more craft than we had originally scanned around the planet. They are not locals to the planet but may aid them if attacked." "The great Hierarch has entrusted us to take this planet in the name of the Covenant. You know our laws, failure is heresy, punishable by death. Prepare landing parties. Also have all the ships ready incase attacked." "Yes, sir."
5 minutes later
8 Phantoms left the cruisers and headed towards the planet. They arrived at what looked like the second largest city, since they noticed foreigners were at the biggest city. They landed right in the city center, scaring the locals in the area. 15 elites, 25 grunts and 10 jackals jumped out of the ships and fixed their weapons on the locals. The grunts started setting up gun emplacements for better protection of the LZ. 3 ghosts left the Phantoms and started patrolling around the city center.

The gigantic ship noted the arrival of the cruisers in system, alarm and surprise rippling through its various denizens.
'Covenant ships. This area is protected by the Neonate Sentiency Act of Caldera. To invade will be in violation of the Act, forcing me to obliterate your paltry ships.' Warned the Tradeship, gigantic bulk reconfiguring for battle.
Drones burst forth from their Hangars, a veritable swarm of hundreds and hundreds of terribly powerful Super Acolyte Drones. The hull of the Tradeship seemed to break apart, ten fully armed Dreadnaught battleships drifting into formation. The now smaller Tradeship's sweeping arms slid together, protecting the less armoured insides, whilst the weapons systems powered up.
'I repeat, Covenant. If you do not desist, I will destroy you.' If there was one thing the Tradeships (Yes, there is more than one.) despised, it was invasion and enslavement of sentient life. Now that there was a very real threat of invasion, the Tradeship would defend the world for all its worth.

IC The Temple Guardian was worried. So mang ships, all arriving now. THe last ship in the system had been 5 years ago, right before the council had agreed to breed his own kin, so finding the old ones might be acomplished and the Slann could oce more be guided by these people. This much activaty was worrisom to say the least, and he was glad that there where already more eggs beging laid under the surface of the cities. He shrugged, and his ship turned on the convent ships.
-Stand down, none may land on the Planet of Lustrinia without the permission of the Slann, to do so is to become rouge ((Enemy)) And be pushed into the outlands.- ((The areas the other speices still control.))

Space Commander Leonard Wilkins hurried through the skies. His Black Myrmadion, an odd 3-D triangular shaped ship hurled through space at speeds of over 1,000 mph. Fourty-eight lightning cannons decorated the winds of his ship, protecting it in case of danger. Around him swarmed six other Black Myrmadions, though they were holographic projections, so they were not real.
Leonard Wilkins gazed out of his control port, lookin over the new world. "A nice place," he thought, "inhabited too." He ignored the buildup of other ships, his own circumnavigated the planet in about three seconds.
As he approached the hold-up again, he stopped, as did the holographic projections.
"What is going on here? I am of the Imperial Yaforite fleet and I command you to ell me"
In orbit around this snew planet, explorator Group 'Skull Throne' ripped it's way out of the Immaterium. 100 ships, 10 Emperor class Battlecruiser Cap Ships,40 Retribution class Battleships, 20 posessed Battleships of a design so archaic no civilisation now knows it's name and 30 thunderhawk gunships, not forgetting a little gift from Ra, a Space Marine Battle-Barge, came screaming from the warp.
The commander of the Space Marine Detatchment, Khamun, a Noisemarine from the Capital City of Ankh looked at his sensor screen.
"I see that the Emperor was correct. There are a lot of people taking n interest in this place. Prepare colonisation pods. I want 100 Marines on the surface, deployed on Thunderhawks. The rest of the 'Hawks will be used to ferry colonists from our fleet. Have one of the posessed go into the atmosphere and make sure nothing gets close enough to hurt the colony site. I want an area 2 square miles to be cleared with the cannons."
"As you command."
The Thunderhawk gunships left their motherships like bees from the hive, as a bombardment, only three seconds long flattened the colony site.Chaos was here.

The battleship TVFS Sunflare flew effortlessly through the Myrn Tunnel that pulsed all around it. The energy sails spun at the back of the vessel, providing the massive power requirements of interstellar travel. The crew sat at their alloted positions, but most of them had nothing to do. At the helm of the graceful but mighty warship stood Admiral Grunhaus, his shoulders back, his head held high, and his back ramrod-straight. A small smile was on his face as he watched through the viewport, and his eyes sparkled. He had served on this same ship for five years, but he had never lost his feeling of pride.
The ship AI spoke, its voice the same one which had made him want to seize the digital creature and strangle it.
We are exiting the tunnel shortly. Prepare for realspace transition.
They probably wouldn't find anything out there. It would just be the same dead system that usually greeted them. But the Government had decreed that the galaxy must be explored and charted, and relations established with sentient races. Colonies were to be set up, although this was not the role of this ship. Myrn Gates were to be built, forming trade routes between the stars.
There was a fizzing pop as the vessel emerged back into realspace, and the ship was jolted from one end to the other. The crew had got used to this by now, so only a few fell over. Realspace transition was supposed to be smooth and silent, but there appeared to be something wrong with the Myrn generator.
For a moment, the battleship hung in space, not moving. Then the mighty engines activated and it swept forwards. And, through the viewscreen, the Admiral saw ships.
Communications Officer, open a wideband channel. I want communications opened with all of them.
The familiar reply was uttered, and Grunhaus picked up the microphone from the control panel.

IC:The Tantalus Generation Ship: Goross swung round upon itself heading for a new system. The cracked and ancient AI had spotted an inhabitable planet, just what it had been searching for for nearly one and a half billion years. In that time probably the entire ship had been replaced in repairs. The job of the Tantalus when they were launched periodically as the World Eater: Xaxoss made its slow two billion year journey through the stars was to spread to Okyton Empire. What had happened to them was unknown. Several hundred had been launched and none had ever reported back. Their mission to find an inhabitable world suitably similar to Okyto and settle upon it, to preserve the culture and genetic data of the empire for all time. The Goross wearily made its way to the new world and began to hail to the ships surrounding it.
“This is the Tantalus Generation Ship: Goross, in the name of the God Crassuss we ask for what purpose is this planet being used. We have been assigned the divine task to seek out a planet on which we can settle, is this such a planet?”
Inside the Goross the warring tribes put down their weapons. Across the sky had rumbled the voice of God. Goross had spoken.

The General gritted his teeth. "You imperialists! You need it to trade. Back on New Devonshire, the Melconians murdered three-thousand of our people. They needed them to 'trade for machine parts.' That explanation did not prevent us from killing them all, even if it meant using a orbital bombardment of our own planet! This is puzzling. As a Bolo, my computer processors are to calculate the most efficient military strategy. The Covenant ships that were once in this system have left without shooting. All calculations indicate that they would have destroyed the space fleet, and inflicted many casualties upon the ground forces, save myself. Why did they leave? This requires much more speculation.
The Bolo clacked again as the missile tubes slammed shut. There was a whine as the turrets returned to full forwards, the Hellbores lowered. The Bolo itself moved backwards several feet, wary to avoid any Lustrian (?) structures and organisms. The crisis had been averted.
In space, the large cruiser that had recently jumped in-system loaded its RIFT engines and jumped back out, to the fleet gathering at the Sirut Naval Base. The colony ship shuddered, awaiting orders to jump to the next habitable system.

OOC Hehe, still got one more problem on our hands. My race have problems with Chaos. Also, for any interested, my ship is something Similar to Moya in Farscape, they are hatched from eggs, and have their own minds, but also have one piolit as well. Now, to the RP
IC Lord Corak heard the messages, as well he heard the bombardment of the lower jungles. He grimeced for the People who tried to land there, the creatures around that area where unsuually cunning ((Think Raptors in Jarrasic Park with Predator Camoflage)) He would send a Scouting party down later, but for now he had a message to send.
-To all nations wishing to trade, talk and converse with the Slann, and see our cities, we invite you to the City of Tlaxtlan. The first of the Temples of the gods, and the birthplace of the Breeding grounds, it is also the only city to have the landing feilds your ships require. We will be giving gold to all who attend, as well as other gifts fit for gods such as yourself, we await your ships.-
OOC Yes, you heard right, they belive you gods. This is the same kind of thing with the Aztexs/Conquistors except the slann know something about you that might be frightening. THEY belive you to be the same thing Jesus is to Christians, the messiah.

OOC: Sounds fun
IC:
A Shadow battlecrab sped past the borders of Shadowspace within hyperspace and towards the Slann homeworld. It carried an Ambassador of the Shadows, they would find out the truth behind these 'Slann'. They had the scent of being First One created... if they had been the Shadows would have to demonstrate the fact that they were superior and try to get them into their service just like many other world's had succumbed to the Shadows influence...
After almost a day of travel in hyperspace, the Battlecrab phased into the space around the Slann world and began it's descent. It was a huge beast, a living ship... inside was a sentient organism enslaved as the ships central processing unit by the Shadows. It stank of ancient Chaos... it was almost palpable on the lips of most races... even the sight of it occasionally induced visions of the past. Burning worlds, The screams of the dying and wounded and most frightening of all the experiences of those captured by the Shadows for their experiments and the arenas.
"Admiral, they have accepted our landing."
"Excellent."
Grunhaus pushed a button, allowing him to communicate with the carrier bay.
"This is Admiral Grunhaus. I want an atmospheric transport prepared and a team assembled for landing on the planet. I want Diplomat Jiro included."
After around twenty minutes, a small landing craft had been prepared for the short flight to the surface. Jiro sat in the passenger area, accompanied by two soldiers and a handful of aides. He couldn't wait to get down there. He always had been enthusiastic about his job, and the combination of him and Admiral Grunhaus was enough to make even the most tolerant crewman feel slightly ill. His robes looked good on him, unlike so many other Diplomats who looked like they were drowning in a sea of coloured cloth.
The light blues and greens contrasted with the dark battle armour worn by the soldiers. They had visors lowered and they were clutching their guns as if they were expecting something to attack at any moment. Planetfall in such small groups was always a nightmare for Taldaani soldiers.
Jiro lay back in his seat as the lander rolled along the rails into the airlock. Around a minute later, the small craft was exposed to the black void. The engines fired, and it swooped away, before turning in a long arc towards the planet's surface. It cut through the atmosphere like a knife through butter, before gliding to a perfect halt, around a kilometre above the ground. It hovered for a few seconds, and then slowly fell towards the landing field below. It hit the ground with a gentle thud, and then the ramp slid down. Jiro was first to leave the lander, closely followed by the others. Looking around, he headed towards the city.

On the edge of the system, green flecks of light coalesced into a burning bright blue portal. A sleek, purple ship soared out of the slipspace portal, glossy reflective paint giving the stars a mirror to stare at themselves in. Shortly after, four more ships exited slipspace, creating a perfect V formation.
In the lead was a Udrax-Class Destroyer, the Merciful Fate. Following it were four Muilaxx-Class Frigates, the Honorable Death, the Calm and Quiet, the Death and Duty and the Truthful Reality. As the slipspace engines hummed quietly and powered down, scanner systems began actively sweeping the system.
Onboard the Merciful Fate,
Ship Master 'Uiximee was impatient, he paced back and forth in the confines of the ship's bridge, clicking his mandibles together quietly and in perfect rythm.
"Excellency," Comm Master Rukot said, "The Calm and Quiet cannot identify any ships in the sector yet, but Ship Master 'Erumiee suggests we keep looking."
'Uiximee nodded slowly. "Very well, Helm Master, bring us forward. Keep scanners online and Shields at 100% charge. Weapons shall remain hot and keep an eye out for any of Truth's soldiers; I don't feel like being ambushed by Covenant troops just yet."
The Sangheili sighed loudly as the ship lurched to life, a slight shift in the gravitational field being the only noticable change. "Let Purity be with us, let all the great warriors of Purity's Covenant be with us. 'Malakee, Zyn, Rukap...watch over us. Your deeds shall guide us into battle if it so comes to it." 'Uiximee muttered quietly, unheard by most of the members of the room.
Meanwhile, the four Purity ships cruised towards the last detected Covenant slipspace signal, moving at a somewhat slow but still respectable pace.

The Warship moved through space, having discovered most of its skills, it was now watching the massing of ships. The Temple guard who stood on the deck of the ship was happy, he had managed to teach the ship everything, and now it would teach other ships, and so on, until the fleet, was able to protect the planet. Then the breeding grounds would create more powerful ships, and the new plan, the mighty Space temples. THe Guard shrugged, and made a scan of the area.
On the Surface, Lord Corak had sent his second in command to the landing area, who would designate the Armed guards to take members to the Temple of Quezoql. The Temple city would be deserted, as many warriors where proving their power to local creatures. The only ones that stayed had been the Temple guard, the oldest of the Sauras. Corak was anxtious to see the new arrivles, he might have found he he searched for.

OOC Yea, I mixed Lizard men and Tyrinids, as well as some things from Farscape. THe Main Battle ship, the one launched, is a bigger versionof Moya from Farscape, with a number of weapons. Thank you again.
IC The Raptor melted its skin into the surroundings, so well that it was undetecable by sight. As the air had cooled, finding it with its blood tempreture would be hard, since it kept at the tempreture of the surrounding area. This was a predator that even the Sauras feared. They cold only be senced by their smell, or by shooting it. They worked in packs as well, never less then 50 of them attacked prey. This is why the southern jungles had been left alone, and why the Saurus had been created.
The Raptor ran across the feild, blwoing up as it hit the mine feilds. The Other raptors watched, as each one moved across, their skin changing colour in seconds. They killed almost 39 of their number, but they had a map through the feilds. They stalked away, intending to return when the men where not alert from the mine explosion.
OOC The Raptors are nothing like our ones, similar to aliens from Alien, as well as the camoflagen of the Predators, and the fact they use normal blood, and they have Eyes. They are nasty, and can make a mockery of any Sauras Sacred Blood pack. They stand no chance, besides the fact they are invisable from sight and are smart.
The reptilian creatures seemed to want Jiro to follow them. They looked to be attired as warriors, but Jiro didn't know enough about their culture to be sure. Maybe it was normal for all those of their religion or society to bear arms. After all, it was common on Earth, according to the history books, and civilian colonists were often lightly armed when exploring or constructing on new planets. They walked through the jungle, a vast city getting closer with every step.
"Excuse me? Where are we going?" asked Jiro. The reptilian just grunted and snarled. Either it couldn't understand or it was incapable of speech.

Onboard the Merciful Fate,
"Ship Master!" Comm Master Rukot shouted. "The Calm and Quiet is detecting numerous life forms on one of the planets in this system. Sensors indicate that it is habitable and can support Sangheili, Yanme'e, Kig-Yar and Lekgolo life. Unggoy will need their standard-issue Life Support Tanks, as usual."
'Uiximee nodded slowly, taking in the information before speaking. "Take us towards that planet, and have the Calm and Quiet watching for signs of other ships. Take us out, half speed."
"Yes your excellency," the bridge crew stated at once, before leaping to their tasks. 'Uiximee smiled slightly, pacing back and forth on the raised dais of the ship's bridge.

The huge black spidery ship slowly descended onto the assigned pad... the ship itself was at least 2 kilometres long... it's skin seemed to swirl, like water in a pool... but it was black and stank of the Ancient ones known as the Shadows to many and the Ancient Evil to others. It didn't actually touch the surface more hovered slightly above it and a hole appeared suddenly in it's side...
A shiny black skinned woman with a black silken robe stepped off to be greeted by the lizard warriors. She had black eyes, which seemed to take in light and her hair was long and a brilliant white... she grinned
'Take me to your leader, Lizardmen' she said in a pedantic tone.

The Sauras almost attacked the thing that walked out, but managed to hold his mouth ((Littraly.)) He instead walked off, expecting the Thing to follow. They arrived very soon, almost ten minutes, and what they saw would take most humans breath away. The city was huge, and anyone would instantly see it was never ment to house the Sauras. The Temple in the middle was huge, more then 3 km at the base, and went as high as the canopy, only just under. The Main temple had 6 temples surrounding it, in the shape of a star, and all had their own path to the temple. The smaller temples where half the size of the large one, but still quite large. After about fifty meaters from the base of each temple the houses started, these where small, not large enough to house the Sauras, proving the city was never ment for the lizard men. THis would all be nothing, when many of the people had made their cities larger then this. Every one of the Temples where Sheathed in pure gold. The Rest was in silver and the streets where made of bronze.
"Welcome to the City of the Old ones." THe Lizard men would say when they broguht one of the people to the city.

((OOC: Oh dear oh dear. Slann. I can see that I shall have to pay attention to this.
"Between it and the forces it had assembled, it had enough Particle Lances to reduce the entire star system to atoms... " Oh yay. Superb techwankery.
Firstly, I'd like to ask you all to ease up a bit here. Honestly, are we expected to believe that Ankhmet randomly sends hundred ship task forces to make first contact with people? Or that everyone has to be intent on colonising the same system? Please, try not to pull out huge fleets. MK13 Bolos and ludicrous storylines. This is exactly why many people have no respect for future tech.))
At the edge of the planetary system, a lone probe appeared. It was not remarkable in form or appearance, a cylinder some three meters long and one meter wide. It seemed stretched when it first appeared, as though made of taut elastic, it snapped back into place, a tiny pulse of radiation, undetectable unless one knew what to look for, expanded at the speed of light. The object slowly drifted inward, its surface bubbling as if it were being boiled away, revealing the hunched form of something akin to a giant beetle. Green eyes dotted its forward 'face' and it looked around with interest at the goings on - there a shadow vessel - no, not the true shadows of Z'ha'dum, whom its masters had certain dealings with, but some pretenders to their title - lurked, elsewhere, cheap knockoffs of Imperium of Man vessels. But more interestingly, the planet itself, a fertile jungle, perhaps, perhaps with the remnants of the Old One's creations still there.
The probe drifted onward, and fired up a particularly discrete point-to-point, and in the normal course of things, untraceable transmitter. It addressed the Reaper of Light, the personal vessel of Mephet'ran.

Old Imperial Germany

I don't mean too be a grinch, but arn't the Slann, Sauras and Skinks part of the warhammer fantasy game? I do believe they are from the Lizardman range of minitures. Could you not be slightly more origional?
Jiro gasped in wonder at his surroundings, his eyes widening at the sheer opulence displayed here. He had seen a lot from the Sunflare, and even more on the surface of so many planets, but this was a whole new level of magnificence. The houses were built of silver, and the golden temples glowed in the hot tropical sun. Looking around, he noticed that his two soldiers had lowered their glare filters to block the reflected light from the city. He thought that Estran had been rich, but this place.....
Damn it, I can't go up before whatever ruler dwells here like this
A column of Predator Tanks, warped and mutated by the evil daemons within them , followed by a defielr made their way towards the city of the Slann, with intent to take the technology of the ancient ones by sheer force.
"Dominus 5 , this is Imperator 7, we are on course, another day or two at the most. Those marines have been complaining about the bloodthirster beating them up.Bunch of idiiots.Anyway, these Slann will be piece of cake.Ra is worried about the ship they built...Grew.Seems to be worrying that they can grow ships. Not very powerful in itself, but...Eh."
The tanks crawled on.

OOC Yes, they are, it was the point, I don't have to be original, and when you see what this nation is going to evolve into, then you shall see they are very Different. The names and bases for land forces are the same, but when they start using my own tech, as well as breeding my own ships, then you know it will be different. Also, Ankhmet, you DO know that we don't have much of their tech. We only have the DNA manipulation and their cultrual units, the weapons on the ships where going to be evolved after long amounts of time. You will be finding things like really advanced friges and toilets. You also forget how well patroled these foress are, we are fighting a major was with less inteligent replies.
IC The Skink compony stood in the forests, watching the tank coloum. They readied their trap. As one of the tanks went past, it fell into a hole almost 50 meaters deep, origenly intended to trap the large Canosaurs. The Forest to the major city was covered with traps as this, meaning the army would have to move at a snail's pace, or loose large numbers.
When groups arived at the city, Warriors would give each arrivle a pot made from gold. Why was not sure, for they had never met a race that had a love for the gold, but they did it. They where watchful of the other races, but accepted them, the Slann had, so they would to.
The Chaos Champion grinned and let out a mighty roar.
"These lizards are fools! The Imperium will never give up on this place, the animals here are valuable to Ra.We will fight forever if need be!Have the flamers burn the forest around us, and use the field-Auspex devices scan for holes in the ground!"
A squad of Chaos Marines moved tot he edges of the column and began burning the forest with flamers, hoping to cause a big enough blaze to kill some skinks. The tanks soon joined in with their great mounted flamers, and missiles, randomly firing into the forest. The whole column was engulfed in a battle rage, even though there was no enemy to be seen, and they hadn't really seen anything, but it suited them, they liked burning things.
"Commander! What the hell are you doing?"
A bolt pistol flashed, and the marine responsible for starting the burning found that he no longer had a face. Ra II, Primarch of the Emperor Ra's own bodyguard of marines stood over the corpse.
"Thunderhawk gunships are being sent forward to drop napalm on the forest. In the meantime we will have to wait.NO BURNING.You fools will get us killed by an ambush if you keep giving the skinks smoke signals like this.Idiots.I want three more marines killed."

OOC Hey, THis nations is not going to be killed in its first RP, Sorry to say, I AM winning this.
IC The Ship felt its weapon systems, it activated it sheilds, it did all the other things to prepare for combat. THe Temple Guard sent a message to the slann to get more ships priotarty, making sure they where born with their knowlage. THe Slanns reply was good. The Other eggs had been incubated five days after the first, and they would get the most attention. In two days, a thousand of the new breed would be ready for combat, as well as the new Orc Sauras crossbreeds. The Ship readied its body, solidafing it to make a version of natural sheilds not thought of before. It then moved to the dark fleet, it would be wiped out, but the damge it would do would be harsh.
In the Incubation room underneath different temples, hundreds of eggs where being attended by the Slann mages. The sheer number of the huge eggs was increadble, but they where serverly severing their land forces. They had let the other eggs work themselves, so their Sauras and Skinks where going to slow down right now. But that was not a difficulty, at the time they had many millions, the south was not yet finished.
The Raptors watched, their long elongated forms blending in with the surroundings. They avoided the flames, and took a number of Skinks who tried to flee to their food storage. But they wanted a challange. The Armies they fought so far had no been a dfficulty. Now they had a challange, they would actually earn their food. This idead appealed to them for some reason, and so it was with speed that they started to run at the chaos forces, their colours skimming all the while.
OOC I would like you to know the Raptors are..........not easy to kill. Their body has armoured plates the same strength as SM Power armour, and they continually change color. As long as they are in long range they will die, but if they get into close combat you might want that bloodthirster :P
ooc:lol, I know.But I don't like Slann.
The face of a Noisemarine seemed to explode outwards, the ceramire armour punctured clean through by the powerful predator reptiles.

ONI Concordiat
01-01-2005, 02:19
The Bolo sensed rapid-fire bursts of gunfire, and awoke from minimum awareness level. It traversed its turrets towards the Marines firing in a circle of death. "FOR LUSTURIA AND AGAINST ALL IMPERIALISM!" Boomed the Bolo's voice. "I am Hector, a Bolo of the Concordiat. You WILL not stifle the development of this fledgling nation!" It's infinite repeaters opened fire, 120 kT/second of energy streaming from the ball-mounted turrets in the Bolo's hull. The forward main turret traversed, then the sky lit with the firing of the Bolo's main Hellbore. A 6 mT/second plasma pulse hammered the Ankhmet marine's formation.
My systems report full functionality. I am concerned, however, as I enter this fight, that the Concordiat's space assets in this area might not be enough. I may be able to destroy Ankhmetian (?) ground forces, but I can do little against orbiting ships. There is an enemy marine formation, and I spend 3.7 seconds powering up my main Hellbore before I fire. This will require some more of my weaponry to be brought into play, if the Enemy continues to advance.
OOC: A Bolo is a giant, sentient, armored fighting vehicle created in a Sci-Fi series of books by Keith Laumer. Very good read if one likes to see the triumph of armor. :)
"Fools. We do not fear armour.DEFILER!FIRE MAIN CANNON!"
The huge spidery mech fired the demolisher cannon embedded in it's chest, the daemon shell crashing into the armour of the Bolo, the effect unknown. The Marines blasted away at the Bolo with Meltaguns, melting the armour with blasts of hyperheated air, certainly at least scorching off the paintwork :).
"RaII to Thunderhawk Gunship 'Hatred's Light', we have a class-5 Armour level-threat, repeat class-5.We neat heavy Meltabombs, cannons, the whole thing.Expend all weaponry on target.Designating target now.RaII to Battlecruiser 'Litany of Fury', request precision strike position 3344,5566 and Drop-Pod landing of Hellfire dreadought 30 metres NW of convoy's current position.RaII to Colony, request backup.Get us the other Defiler here NOW!"
The masses of reinforcements, made ready, the main guns charged up, the drop-pod fired, and the Thunderhawk flew in.The Marines laughed as they fired at the Bolo. This was real war!

The Raptors retreated, not used to such powerful weapons. They did what their race was able to of a smile, the larger ones had set up fortifacations all around, not allowing the newest target to get away. They allowed The Lizards out, but they could attack them in the jungle anytime, they had a rare opertunity here, a real fight. Already they had learned something, they had taken one bolter, soon these would multiply, and then they would be a threat.
The Lizard men where not compleaty defencless. When the cannons where heard in the city, the entire people seemed to dissapere. They moved through the jungle, until they reached the area of devastion. The creasts of the creatures started to flash angraly, and they drew dimond weapons, using the presious mineral as if it where no more common then steel. Skinks took roket launchers from the stores, and began to fire on the Predators. The dimond weapons of the Sauras where more then they seemed, every one was infused with Slann magic, able to shoot the pure force, much the same as the Marines used their bolters. The Sauras spear weilders started opening fire, while the warriors ran across the ground, sending energy from their swords as they went.
In the jungle, a large roar could be heard, there where great creautes coming, the size of the T-rex on Terra, but more of a predator. The Sauras Scar Vertrans rode with easy, their long spears fused with energy. They moved towards the battle feild, but they where not their yet.
In space, the New battle ship fired. Increadbly, the weapon fired was the same as a Necron Gauss cannon, but it was different as well. It was followed by a spawn missile, which would snap apart dropping Ready to hatch eggs inside the hull. This would deploy a number of small creatures, that would eat the wires, trying to diable the ship.
OOC Yea, I shall use my main nation for it, if thats ok. Linky please
On the battlecruiser 'Litany of Fury' the drop-pod tube roared into life. The huge casings dropping the Marines into combat at incredible speed. A diversionary attack had been arranged, and a second group of troops, 200 men with 50 terminators, 15 dreadnoughts and 30 Land Speeders had been dropped on what had been identified by Auspex scans as the city. The troops were under orders to raze what they could before they were overwhelmed.
"CONTACT!Gausscannon shot incoming!Point defense railguns online!Fire countermeasures!Starhawks, intercept gausscannon shot!Your lives will bot be destroyed in vain, you shall be remembered in the halls of hatred, the wreckage of your ships put into the halls of victory with the treasures of a thousand worlds!"
The starhawk fighters moved to maximum speed to black the shot.
"We have a lock on the damned ship which fired on us.Sound general alarm! To fleet:this is the Litany, sending co-ords of enemy ship, all craft fire at will and launch Starhawk superheavy bombers!"
The full mught of 150 Ankhmeti Battleships and 5 Battlebarges was concentratedon the Slann craft, their thousands of guns firing as rapidly as they could, torpedo tube flaring, railguns blasting away.
"They cannot survive this."
----------------------------------
Surface, battlezone |
----------------------------------
Drop-pods smashed into the ground. Seconds later, 2 hellfire dreadnoughts got out, twin-linked lascannons blaring. The missiles of the mech blazed towards the largest of the mounted lizards, blasting chunks of flesh. The marines within the dreadnoughts, though long-dead still enjoyed the battle, letting out long mechanical howls of joy as their flamers burned sections of forest away.
"ETA on tThunderhawk?"
The Bolo fired, blasting away a Predator.
"About 5 minutes, give or take."
3 more predators exploded, blasted by the reptiles.
"Good.Back to war."
Heavy bolters clattered, ripping through a squad of lizards.
"Sir...We could...S-s-summon a bloodthirster?"
"And waste our Librarian?"
"No.The damage a bloodthirster could do would cxertainly make it worthwhile."
"Do it.We cannot win this battle, you know that?"
"Yes.But we will make them remember us.The battlecruiser has been given a viral bomb. Not enugh to annihalate them, but enough to make them know we are here. The terminator squad in the city has set it.They die, the bomb goes off. They survive, the bomb goes off.The lizards fuind it...You get the idea.Even a direct hit from most flame weapons isn't enough to stop it.We are going to have to fortify the colony a lot."
------------------------------------------
HIGH ORBIT,LITANY OF FURY |
------------------------------------------
"Commander, we are losing the convoy. We must make sure the colony remains."
"I agree.Have main guns create a chasm around the colony.A mile deep should do it.No ground forces are going to hurt my colony!"
The main guns of Litany fired around the colony, creating a very deep chasm.
ooc:My marines don't use formation.Orderly groups tend to make good targets, whilst a scattered group has to be picked off one-by-one.Note about Ankhmeti Bolters:These can only be properly used by warriors of Chaos, otherwise they just go crazy. If the raptors use Ankhmeti bolters they are going to shoot each other a lot.
Ankhmet has 4 Explorator fleets, each one of 100 ships, and a battle-barge, to prevent being overwhelmed by enemy forces, plus, being chaos we like to conquer a lot.And as for colonisation:this place obviously has a lot of resources, reading about the diamond weapons of the slann here, so I think everyone's going to want a piece of this lovely shiny pie.Mmmm....pie.
Intelligence modules report that combat is taking place on the surface of the planet. The Ankhmeti fleet is attacking Lustrinia.
The annoying AI voice cut through the quiet of the battleship.
"Damn it. There's nothing we can do against that fleet. Raise energy sails, we jump in ten minutes."
"Where, Admiral?"
"Nowhere. We stay in the tunnel. We'll be safe there. Meanwhile, I want all land forces to drop down onto the planet and attack the Ankhmeti army. Get me a channel to the surface."
Lustrinia, this is Sunflare. We are sending reinforcements planetside to assist you. Do not attack them.
A few minutes later, a hail of dropships and single or double seat fighters and bombers erupted from the docking bay. They hit the planet's atmosphere hard and fast, dropping like stones until coming to a dead stop and drifting slowly downwards. Soldiers and vehicles emerged from the dropships, then scanned the jungle around them.
Thought for the day:Whilst putrid aliens feel not the whip of Ankhmet, we are not complete
"Sir, rapid Auspex scans reveal a ground force to be on the ground, within 5 kilometers of the battlefield. Our guns can hit them, but our main guns are still building the trench. We only have railguns and small missile batteries, should we fire?"
"Estimated effect?"
"Unknown. The marshy ground makes missiles inneffective, and railguns need a precise hit."
"Set the missiles to airburst shrapnel, and fire at will.Status of the ship which attacked the fleet?"
"Unknown. There' a huge cloud of fire surrounding it."
"Heh."
The Litany of Fury began its attack, really not a very useful one, but enough to keep the scum at bay for an hour at most.
"Oh, use Thunderhawk transports to get the Ankhmeti Guard and their supplies into the colony.I better see a battery of Basilisk guns when I visit that place!"

OOC Actually the dimond is much like the gold, left there by the old ones. The planet has only wood and a few mines. Now, link my to your hearsery thread please.
IC The ship felt the blows, its skin crumpelinglike paper to so much fire. But it was resliliant, and it managed to surrvive the first salvo, if just barly. Thus, it did what is wanted, which was send itself at a speed increadble for its size directly at the Litany of Fury, spawn eggs ready, the gauss cannon fireing one shot. Then, a great maw opened up, able to swallow the smaller fighters hole. In the suicide charge, it launched millions of spawn pods into the fleet, that alone would keep them busy for long ebnough to give the New batch time to hatch.
On the ground it was going rather badly, the humans had done major damage, and the Carnosaurs had been engaged by the dredanaughts. The Hellfired would not last long, since the power of the creatures in close combat was legendary, while the Hellfires had given up close combat weapons for firepower. With the Lascannon, it would lack the Auto cannon needed for cutting down the great agile beasts in close combat. The Marines would be having less luck, the Skinks having poisoned blowpipes and an uncanny eye for weak spots in the armour, while the Sauras where using sowrd, claw and teeth to kill the enemy. The colony was being watched as well, by the skink charmilions.
In the sopposedly abandoned city, the marines landed. They started to run amoke in the city, seperating to do most damage possible. THat was when the temple Guards and Ork Sauras struck. The Temple guard where all large, easily the size of terminators, while the Ork Sauras where as big as the dreadnoughts. The cretures sprang from holes in the ground, roaring as they attacked the other creatures with raw hatred. At that moment, the Teradons came sweeping through the city, the skins fireing apon the Land speeders. And from the top of the temple, Corak sat, and fire lanced from his fingers at the nearest dreadnought. He then felt the temors, five more hours and the fleet would hatch.

"GREAT ONE,WE BESEECH YOU!FILL THIS EARTHLY VESSEL WITH THE HATE AND BLOODLUST OF KHORNE!TODAY WE ALL DIE, BUT IN DOING SO WE OFFER YOU OUR BODIES SO YOUR DAEMON MAY BRING YOU SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!"
Everything stopped. The Marines froze.Everyone stopped. One by one the marines exploded in a fountain of gore, the dreadnoughts simply disappeared. The relief was not to last long, however. From the ground, a great fountain of blood and skulls erupted.Soon it was followed by the terror of all, the sight feared in a thousand combats. The Bloodthirster of Khorne greater daemon of slaughter. It let out an unearthly roar, and began it's suicidal mass slaughter.
TEMPLE BATTLEGROUND
"Legio Exterminatus to command! We are in troub----"
In that final word the head of the Terminator was swiped off. They now numbered just 5, forming a ring around the virus bomb they brought, inwardly grinning at the pain it would cause.
"Bow down, pathetic Xeno!"
The lead Terminator shattered the skull of the nearest temple Guard with the best strength he could muster, bringing down his flamer on it's skull.
"FORGET THIS!Detonating virusbomb!"
The bomb detonated, showering the city with deadly virus cultures.
Now just the fortified colony remained.
ooc:Weak spots in the power-armour?at most weak spots in that stuff a handgun couldn't penetrate, you'd need to have jet-lungs to propel a dart fast enough to pierce it.
NB:My ships are not knock-offs, they are designs from an original STC unit, explained in my history thread.Cheeky bastard!

Why?
OOC: Because my sect of the Covenant has been isolated from the Covenant for awhile, and desires to meet them again.

OOC There are always weak spots, you do know there is only a thin layer of lether in the Neck don't you? As with the ships, there would be lots of them infested, the spores are to small to be shot by the larger craft, and milions of them have been released. The Ship is aiming to swallow smaller craft.
IC Corak felt the bomb go off, and immidietly set up a sheild arounf the temples. The city would surrvie, but as long as the temples where safe, it did not matter what happened to the rest. When he siensed the deamon he became livid, and when the sheilds where put in place, sent a opowerful blast of magic towards the creature.
The ship, on its attepmt to swallow, was wiped out. But the damage was done. Hundreds of spores had been released, the things would hatch in second of cotact, they would become deadly to human type targets within an hour. Quite a dangorus weapon, they floated around the ships, their small size ment they where almost undectable by target systems.
Meanwhile, back in the city, rubble was pushed aside as the Pathfinders moved through the ruined streets to reach their target. Pathfinder armour was one of the more ingenious inventions to come out of Taldaan. Not only did the armour carry active camoflauge, it also masked the infra-red signals given off by the men inside them. The leader grinned as he looked through the helmet-mounted scope. The enemy were ahead, power-armoured warriors and armoured tanks and walkers.
Behind the leader, the air rippled slightly as the rest of the pathfinder team followed. Communicating only by hand signals, the small team moved into position in the ruined buildings. Their mission: cause too much havoc for the enemy to mount an effective dfence, then tag the column for airstrikes. When that was done, the fighters and bombers which had come down with the transport would drop out of the sky and hopefully obliterate the enemy column.
Rifles were raised to shoulders and magazines checked. Among the rifles was a rocket launcher. Ten pairs of eyes narrowed as they locked on to targets. The rocket launcher pointed dead on at the nearest armoured vehicle. Rifles swung around to point at the heads of the enemy. The neutronium darts they carried would hopefully go clear through the heads they were aimed at.
If any of the Chaos Marines were standing very close, they would have heard a series of muffled cracks as the hypervelocity darts sped from the railgun-rifles. A rocket slashed through the ruins, although no-one saw if it impacted or not. Nearby, other teams were doing the same. A volley of fragmentation charges spewed forth from the trees around two-hundred metres away.
The pathfinders began to retreat into the rubble, hopefully before anyone saw where the shots had come from.
ooc:Eep.I will be back....
"That pathetic Xeno craft seems to have been annihilated on contact, but the Litany seems to have taken some damage, nothing much to worry about."
"Losses?"
"2,000 Ankhmeti Guard too stupid to leave the impact site."
"I want the remainng Guardsmen and their tanks in the colony within the hour. Have a shield raised around the colony, I want nothing to hurt it.Send the Adeptus Diplomacus onto the planet, unarmed."
"Yes sir.One...Minor thing of interest."
"What?"
"The Taldaan troops appear to be shooting at nothing. They seem to think our men are still in the jungle."
"Hah!Have the fleet fire all torpedoes and rockets at the surface, expend 20% of cannon ammunition and leave this place within the hour.Target the city."
"Yes, my Lord."
Thunderhawk gunships and ships cannons began the bombardment, whilst StarHawk transports moved the Ankhmeti Guardsmen to the surface.A powerful shield was erected to prevent fire from hitting the colony, and 100 Berserkers of Khorne were transported onto the colony.
Within the hour, the ships would leave.
ooc: Curses. I thought you were still in the jungle. I'll edit it.

Onboard the Merciful Fate,
"The Calm and Quiet is picking up ships on its sensors, unknown classification. They are orbiting the planet with lifesigns and it seems that there is combat going on in the sector." Rukot stated.
'Uiximee closed his eyes and sighed, glistening golden armor reflecting the stars on the main viewscreen. The ships would be leaving the shadow of one of the planets soon, and everybody would be able to see them loud and clear.
"Send a probe back to Ectras IV with a current status report. Have all ships raise shields and keep weapons ready to fire within 10 seconds of my order. Keep all military units on standby and all ships on yellow alert." 'Uiximee barked out quickly.
"Excellency, we are leaving the planet's shadow," his first mate informed him.
"Open a subspace channel to all ships in the sector, transmit in all known languages and subdialects." 'Uiximee ordered, turning towards the main communications console. Shortly after, there was a beep and a light on the console turned a pale blue-white color, indicating it was ready to be used.
"Greetings to all ships in this sector, I am Shipmaster 'Uiximee of the Merciful Fate. We represent the Covenant of the Servants of Purity, and we have come to this system on a mission of peace and exploration. Our sensors have detected combat in this sector, and have no desire to be involved in petty inter-racial conflicts. We do desire to know what is going on however, and will not hesitate to defend ourselves if any hostile moves are made in our direction."

THe fire would have collided with the sheild systems the Slann had made with their combined magic. This had happened right after the drop pods had landed. Presently, the forces where pulling out, leaving the feild dead. Messages went to all to go to the city, that they would work out how to attack the colony from there. THe Bloodthirster would not be able to get through the sheild, and would eventually die from lack of combat. Then the forces would martch on the colony.
The Raptors had a much more advanced plan. In the space of the battle, they where able to fully understand the bolter, and now over one hundred of them had bio-implants that was similar to a bolter in all aspects. They ran to the city, and camoflauged while they tried to work out how to get across the moat.

The Bolo felt the impact of the weapons fire from the Marines and the Delfiler's main cannon. The main gun round went right through the battlescreens (they absorb only energy) and impacted the side armor of the tank. The ablative armor melted away, revealing duralloy armor. The gunport on the number Six infinite repeater was also dented, restricting the gun's field of fire. The Bolo returned fire with it's main Hellbore turret, aiming for the Delfiler. Six megatons per second of energy hit the target, but the effect was undiscernable amid the smoke. The marine's guns simply heated the ablative tiles, but the Bolo continued to rake them with infinite repeater and machine gun fire. The Point-Defense repeaters in the Bolo fired at inbound kenetic rounds after the initial hit, as well as attempting to hit the atmospheric drop pods.
The Concordiat space assets are not gaining strength, as the enemy gains strength by the second. I have taken a hit from the enemy Mech's main cannon, damaging my Number Six Hellbore infinite repeater. The enemy infantry continue to fire at me, and I return fire. Also, enemy drop pods are inbound. I am aware that if I continue a static defense, I will be quickly overwhelmed...I will have to begin movement and a mobile defense.
The Bolo's treads squealed, then lurched into motion, accelerating. The Bolo's fire, except the infinite repeaters, was directed skyward. There was a flash as the main Hellbore fired again, skyward towards the cluster of inbound drop pods. The acceleration was enough to outrun the enemy infantry, but the Defilers were another matter. The infinite-repeaters concentrated now on the Defilers, spitting 120 kT/second of energy.

OOC: I would like to see all that attempt to stop a Bolo. In the books, even the simplest Bolo tanks were considered to be worth an entire infantry division. They have a HUGE amount of Point Defense lasers and cannon, and they have main cannons that can hit ships in medium orbit. Their armor can withstand a sixty-megaton direct nuclear strike, if the PD systems don't shoot the nuke down first. The Bolo also has 240cm counterbattery howitzers, 40cm mortars, VLS missiles, ande a large number of 20cm infinite-repeaters, as well as seventeen remotely controlled dragon tanks with infinite-repeater main cannons.
And its 25 meters tall, thirty-eight meters wide, and one-hundred and twenty-five meters long...go to http://www.jade-leaves.com/kepper/bolo34/bolo34.html# and click on the various links
ooc:Then you obviously know little about the weapons systems I'm using. Besides, I'm now using a DAEMON!If it wanted to it could possess your bolo!We could just wait until your big guns run out of ammo, and worry a little about the small ones.

OOC: yes, I know little about WH40k...sorry...
A Bolo is a psychotronic unit, pure machinery. And the "big guns" are Hellbores, and their slivers of Cryo-H2 can be made from any hydrogen gas, water, or simple hydrocarbon lying around. In the book Bolo Rising, the Bolo drives into a lake and uses the water to make more Hellbore needles. But again, I know little about WH40k, and therefore I will simply leave the planet.
