[Earth II] "The battle for Swaziland" (Moronyicka vs Binthor)

Moronyicka
23-12-2004, 04:15
The screen flashed and a view of King Jedo appeared on the screen. Almost everyone in the kingdom had tuned in, it was on every news station.

King Jedo: Good evening Moronyicka. I come to you tonight with grave news. The need has come for us to mobilize our Royal Military.

The king took a deep breath.

King Jedo: We have discovered an obstacle in our mission to "liberate" the kingdom of Swaziland. The nation of Binthor has taken control of Swaziland before we could complete our preparations. We now must eliminate this threat to be able to accomplish our goal.

Jedo then glanced off camera and then back.

King Jedo: We have intelligence that Binthor has been mistreating the Swazies. They have not been giving them the proper food and medicine that they deserve. Also, many Swaziland citizens have been killed because they were deemed anarchist. I ask Moronyicka to stand with us during this trying time. Thank you.

OOC: I'll have more tomorrow. My computer keeps booting me.

Official Reply, President Vale Odgers

"Nations of the world, and citizens of Binthor and the Binthorian province of Swaziland: We have recieved word that a foreign aggresor nation, namely Moronyicka, has released a public statement denouncing the treatment of Swazi citizens and declaring war to 'liberate' Swaziland from Binthorian rule. I tell you now: This statement was a lie. Swazi citizens are treated with the greatest respect, and are allowed, nay, encouraged to report abuse and other forms of bad treatment, such as Binthorian occupation forces taking food and forcing upon them malnutrition, to the government centers in every major city. Humanitarion aid arrives by the hundreds of tons daily. Binthorians are punished harshly for any abuse. The death rate has dramatically fallen since Binthorian occupation, as has the crime rate. Freedoms are at an all time high [in Swaziland]. We now make a plea to all nations to support the Binthorian occupation of Swaziland. Even Moronyicka may send in neutral inspection teams to judge the situation in Swaziland. We wish for no fighting, but we will defend our territory if need be. The Swazi militia has been deployed, and Binthorian occupation troops are on a hightened alert. We will meet this threat, and destroy it if they pursue our assets for any longer."

Today the Moronyicka fleet departed from Bokalocka naval base.

Among the fleet were, Several Aircraft Carriers, Destroyers, Frigates, command ships, cruisers and AAS. Also, they would be testing out the new Godzilla Arse (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/arsenal_72.jpg)nal Ship. (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/arsenal2.jpg) (I'll have the actual stats soon. My military is in an MS word document on another computer that I won't be able to use until after the holidays)

The fleet now sat in the Indian Ocean, near the Tropic of Capricorn.

Rear Admiral Whitecomb was leading the attack. He was currently stationed onboard a LCC-19 Blue Ridge Class command ship. The King had given him orders to wire a telegram to the Generic Empire. With their permission, they would use the lower half of Mozambique as a base.

The fleet again started to press forward, searching to see if Binthor had deployed any ships into the sea.

General Van Dervand sat by the Command Desk looking over the map of southern Africa. It would be simple. Madagascar was both a naval and airforce stronghold of the Empire. Within the next twenty four hours he could have Swaziland bombarded into submission.

The General picked up his red marker pen and turned to the wall behind him to which a map of the world was hung. Slowly he put a cross through Swaziland.

Picking up his intercom he spoke,"Lieutenant put all units in MGS on Code Green. The confirmation slip has come through from the Emperor. Operation Hail will commence as planned."

OOC: Are you in Earth II? I looked on the list and didn't see you, and it said someone else owns Madagascar. If you were, and your nation got deleted for inactivity, your claims would be null and someone else would have taken 'em. Anyway...

IC: The three F-31 Interceptors streaked over the skys of the Indian Ocean. They were designated Patrol 1-1-36IOW, based in Swaziland and patrolling for Moronyicka ships.

"This is Patrol 1-1-36IOW, to Tamakin Control, repeat, Tamakin Control, do you come in, over?"

"Patrol 1-1-36IOW, Tamakin Control, we read you, over."

"We have unidentified ships on the radar, 97 miles north-northwest. What orders, over?"

The controller from Tamakin ran to the commander in charge of the base. The commander looked over the report and quickly telegramed Amy Enfant. The orders came back quickly: Make a fly over, but do not engage unless fired upon.

"Patrol 1-1-36IOW, this is Tamakin Control. Fly over once, but do not engage unless fired upon. I repeat, do not engage unless fired upon, over."

"Roger wilco, Tamakin Control. 1-1-36IOW out."

The three lone figures turned and sped toward their new goal.

Meanwhile, Amy Enfant looked over the report again. If they had a navy, they had aircraft carriers and landing ships. The carriers were not a problem; Binthor had major air superiority. But if there were landing ships, there could be major problems. Since Swaziland was landlocked, they would have to come through one of two superpowers; the Generic Empire or Decisive Action. Almost no one would be stupid enough to attack either of them, meaning they would have safe passage, or what Amy feared the most; Moronyicka would ally with one of them. She figured Decisive Action would laugh in the face of an alliance with Moronyicka, and would be too careful to let a foreign army in the nation. That left the Generic Empire. That Moronyicka would pass through Mozambique instead of South Africa was supported with them coming from the Indian Ocean rather than the Atlantic.

"Well," thought Amy grimly,"whichever way they come, we had better be ready... Or else...."

I'm going to make an observation here, moreorless to poke fun. Moronyicka, your infantry has no machine guns just assault rifles. Your army has no support units. Your air force has no support units. Your navy is a few ships. If you last more than 8 minutes I'm going to slap Binthor.

Rear Admiral Whitecomb stood in the deck of his command ship. Captain Fritz walked up to the Admiral and saluted.

Whitecomb returned the salute then said: What is it Captain?

Fritz: Sir, we have received a response from the Generic Empire. They have granted us access to their airspace.

Whitecomb: Very good. Now all we need is somewhere to move our ground forces in. What do you suggest?

Fritz: Well sir, Decisive Action currently controls South Africa...

Whitecomb: Ah, perfect. We have long had good relations with the Fabus regime. Contact the Czar right away.

Fritz: Aye sir.

Fritz then turned and left.

Whitecomb heard something in the distance, it was a low rumble. The channel of his comm system clicked on.

Comm: Sir, our radar's have picked up contacts in the sky... Three of them. Most likely scouts.

Whitecomb: Roger that. Send up 8 fighters to intercept. Prepare the surface-to-air missiles and cannons on the destroyers. Do not let them escape.

Oberfeldwebel Reinhardt knocked on the door and entered the room, carrying in his hand a folder containing information on the situation in Swaziland.

Oberfeldwebel Reinhardt: "Herr Feldmarshal, it appears there is a situation in Swaziland."

Großfeldmarshal Kahn: "Well, what exactly is it? And is it of any REAL concern? Can't you see I'm drinking my afternoon tea and smoking one of these fine Belarussan cigars?"

Oberfeldwebel Reinhardt: "Well, sir, it appears the respective nations of 'Moronyicka' and 'Binthor' are going to war with one another for the nation of Swaziland. It seems to me it would be quite adventitious for us to maybe...serve as 'peacekeepers'? "

Großfeldmarshal Kahn: "Thank you, Herr Reinhardt. I will read the report and decide on what to do. A piece of land in Africa couldn't hurt us."

Reinhardt saluted and walked out of the room.

Herein lies the ultimate question. It says [Earth II] in the title and was submitted to our registry of RPs. I don't know where Moronyicka is coming from in this as he isn't from E2 but Binthor is down with it so maybe he's RP'ing as citizens or something, who knows. The fighters took of from the deck of the Kitty Hawk and started searching for the enemy air crafts.

F18 pilot and air squad leader: Sir, it appears the enemy is fleeing, permission to pur-- Wait, their coming back for another pass.

Commander: Prepare to engage.

As the three Binthor scouts flew over the fleet, the Moronyickan fighters moved in behind them.

Commander: We see them over top of the fleet now. I want "Spruance
one" destroyer to ready its Sea Sparrow missiles and "Kidd three" destroyer to ready its RIM-67 missiles. I want the fighters to target the enemy, but hold fire. We are all going to fire at once.

4 of the fighters followed the scouts over the fleet. The other four headed towards the direction that the scouts came from, just in case the attack failed.

As the fighters drew closer to the scouts, they began to target them with their sidewinder missiles. Soon they had their weapons locked on.

Air squad leader: Missiles locked on, awaiting orders to fire.

Commander: Hold fire air squad, your almost above the destroyers. Wait......Wait....Wait........FIRE!

Simultaneously; the F18s fired their AIM-9 Sidewinders, the Spruance
fire its Sea Sparrows and the Kidd fire its RIM-67 missiles.

As all of the missiles cruised towards the three planes, everyone watched to see the destruction of the war's first shots.

With the mobilizations from Operation Slip Slide, the Imperial Layartebian Navy was well ready for what was going on in Swaziland. SSBNs were on patrol throughout the worlds' four oceans as were SSNs. One would be sent to the coast off South Africa to harrass the Moronyickan Fleet.

A Scythe Class submarine was immediately sent over to the coast. The 529 foot long and 40 foot wide submarine weighed 12,460 tons on the surface and 15,137 tons underwater. It drafted 36 feet and could dive to 3,000 feet. It utilized a pumpjet propulsor allowing it a top speed of 40 knots and a tactical silent speed of 25 knots. At 20 knots, she was as quiet as a 688/I or a Seawolf/Virginia NSSN at 8 knots. It would take an active ping to nail it and at that it would be difficult. She was powered by a SNR-1 reactor that generated 75,000 shp and could go for 15 years without refueling.

She was armed with 8 torpedo tubes, 4 forward facing and 4 aft facing. She carried a total of 48 weapons, 32 MK-55 ADCAP IIs and 16 UGM-180H Harpoon II missiles. It had 20 vertical launch tubes loaded with 10 UGM-176B Tomahawk II ASM and 10 UGM-176C Tomahawk II HE.

Crewed by 15 officers and 150 enlisted men, its combat systems were beyond advanced, utilizing every possible advanced system. Each of them cost $1.5 billion and there were 80 of them in service.

The Scythe dispatched immediately for the target area. Down at 1,200 feet and moving at 15 knots, she was quieter than a 688/I sitting at the dock, her reactor plant noise being virtually nothing. It was a 300nm journey and they'd be there in less than a day. At 100nm away, the Scythe would dive down to 1,800 feet and using its towed sonar array, it would be able to track everything on the surface with ease.

[I]OOC: The Scythe is more advanced than the Virginia NSSN (the most advanced SSN in the world). Additionally it is a "top secret unknown system" which also means that anyone other than the crew, the higher ups in the ILN, and the Cabinet of the Emperor, it doesn't exist. "We had spies" or "Reconnaissance" isn't going to be a valid reason because it is never on the surface. It comes in and out of a specialized port under the water.

"We have four fighters tailing us, four have dropped off. A second Kitty Hawk has been sighted. Wait a minute... The pass is almost complete. They don't seem to be f... Oh my god! Multiple air-to-air and sea-to-air missiles! Evasive maneuvers!" Two of the three fighters immediately shot straight up, dropping countermeasures and chaff. The third fighter hesitated, then pulled left, smashing into a sidewinder. The missile struck its left wing, sending the fighter into an uncontrollable spin into the sea. The two remaining fighters used their awesome maneuverability to twist with their high angle of attack. A second missile struck the lead plane in the tail, blowing it off entirely and slamming hot metal through the exterior. The plane continued to fly, but the loss of the tail decreased its stability, while maneuvering systems were destroyed by the shrapnel. This resulted in another missile striking the underbelly of the plane, ripping it into to pieces and killing the pilot. The last plane fired its two ASRAAMs wildly before trying to hit mach speeds and escape. As it turned from firing in the direction of the planes, a missile from the surface ships smashed into the side of it. The fighter started to plummet towards the sea as the pilot ejected. The plane smashed into the ocean at a high speed, annihilating the fuselage. The pilot then slowly drifted towards the Moronyickan fleet.

The Scythe arrived on station in the dead of night. Soundings put the water depths in excess of 10,000 feet and the thermal layer at 425 feet. The eight tubes were all loaded with ADCAP II torpedoes. They were deep at 1,600 feet moving at 18 knots, trailing the towed sonar array and listening on all arrays, both towed, hull, and spherical. They were plotting the two Moronyickan fleets and developing firing solutions for every one of them. The targetting computer on the Scythe could maintain and update up to 96 plots simultaneously. This meant that up to 96 ships and subs could be tracked and solutions kept up-to-date for weaponry. Once each solution was fully ready it was given a number and that number programmed into an awaiting torpedo.

CCS Triumphant, somewhere off the Swaziland coast

The CCS Triumphant, a Cottish Virginia class nuclear powered hunter/killer submarine, patrolled the waters outside Swaziland, using her towed sonar array to try to pick up any ship or sub. She had been on position for only 12 hours, but was still trying to pick something up. She maintained a depth of 258 meters (860 feet), just below the thermal layer and with the towed array just above the layer, and the regular patrol speed of 6 knots; just enough for her to keep the depth yet quiet enough for the sonar operators to get as good conditions as possible.

Her captain, Commander Frank Buchanan, was an experienced skipper, having commanded two other SSNs before getting command of the Triumphant. Now, he was sipping his coffee while waiting for Sonar to pick something up.

COM: Conn, sonar.

Buchanan: Sonar, conn. Go ahead.

Sonar: Contact bearing 2-5-1, range 50 000 meters. Designate contact Sierra 1. The engine sounds like a gas-turbine. Possibly a Spruance sir.

Buchanan looked over to the fire control team, led by Lieutenant Commander Tom Cray. They were already on the trace, preparing the guidance for the weapons.

Buchanan (to sonar): Got it. Good job.

He then looked over to the diving officer, Lieutenant Oleg Rispan.

Buchanan: Come starboard to course 2-5-1, all ahead 2/3.

Rispan: Come starboard to course 2-5-1 aye, all ahead 2/3 aye sir. Rispan relayed the orders to the helmsman, and immediately, you could feel the sub powering up, the nuclear reactor working up towards 66% efficiency.

Buchanan: Sound general quarters. All hand to battle stations. Rig for ultra quiet.

The alarm bells rang, and the crew of the Triumphant ran off to their individual battle stations as quickly and quietly as possible. In the torpedo room, ADCAPs were loaded into the tubes that didn't already have a "fish" inside it.

The Triumphant closed the distance to within 8 000 meters. Sonar had confirmed that the ship was a Moronyickan Spruance class destroyer, and the decision had been reached to engage. By now, the control room was totally quiet, everyone ready for action. Buchanan walked over to the fire control team.

Buchanan: How are we doing?

Lt.Cmdr. Cray: Excellent sir. All fish are reading target, and we are ready for attack sir. I recommend we use one ADCAP.

Buchanan: Good. Prepare tube one.

Weapons tech: Tube one ready sir.

Buchanan: Set number one to discreet profile, starting course 2-5-7.

Weapon tech: Set sir. Tube one ready to fire sir.

Buchanan: Coordinate bearings and fire. Reload the tube with another ADCAP.

There were a tremble throughout the Triumphant when the torpedo entered the sea and were controlled by an isolated wire that it pulled by the tailfin.

Weapon tech: Torpedo away. Fish running hot, straight and normal.

The ADCAP raced against the Spruance in a calm speed of 35 knots, 250 meters below the waves in the thermal layer. When it closed to 2500 meters, it rose to 10 meters below the waves, increased speed to 60 knots and started its active sonar.

Inside the Scythe, GQ and ultra-quiet had already been established. But in the sonar room, something was amiss.

"Conn, Sonar. Torpedo in the water bearing 0-4-9."

"Sonar, Conn. Target?"

"It's heading for the surface sir."

"Very well." The Captain looked down at the intelligence brief of Cotlandish submarines. Bastards are shooting already. They were some 4,000 yards from the target and had it designated already. "Fire Control, Conn. Contact Sierra 14 is the target?"

"Conn, Fire Control. Yes sir."

"Very well. You know the proceedures."

"Aye aye sir."

The Captain looked around. Okay now we need to act fast. We're deep, we have tubes at the ready. The two carriers are twenty-two and six thousand yards away. There is the fish in the water. It'll confuse them!

"Helm, come to course 0-2-8. Make your dept 1,200."

"Aye aye sir. Come to course 0-2-8..." The orders were repeated twice more.

As the ship turned and rose, the ranges on the torpedo changed. It was much closer than previously thought. "Fire Control, Conn. Program two ADCAPs for Sierra 18 and Sierra 12."

"Conn, Fire Control. Aye aye sir." The submarine rose quickly and quietly, moving at 10 knots. "Conn, Fire Control. ADCAPs at the ready sir."

"Fire Control, Conn. Very well." The Captain moved over to the firing station and looked at the solutions. Excellent. "Fire tubes one through four!"

"Aye aye, fire tubes one through four." The doors opened and immediately, four ADCAP IIs screamed out of the tubes, accelerating to 45 knots as they ascended to 200 feet.

"Helm, make your depth 1,650 smartly. Come to course 0-9-3 and make your speed 15 knots. Get us out of here."

"Aye aye sir. Make my depth..." The submarine moved back down again, the trailing array becomming useless again as the submarine dove down to 1,650 and accelerated to 15 knots. They were moving underneath the Cottlandish submarine that had just fired and was using it as a tactical sheild. The enemy would think that submarine launched the torpedo and fire upon it. It was a brilliant manuever.

The four ADCAPs acquired their targets a mere 2,000 yards from them and rose to the surface in attack mode, moving now at 55 knots and using passive sonar rather than active. It would only be a matter of time now.

CCS Triumphant, somewhere in the western Indian ocean.

Sonar: CONN SONAR TORPEDOES IN THE WATER BEARING 2-4-1

Buchanan: What the hell? Launch decoys. Fire control, get me a firing solution to that target. Helm, get me down. 400 meters! Sonar, talk to me!

The Triumphant descended as fast as possible, throwing out a few decoys while she descended.

Sonar: 4 torpedoes in the water. Sounds like the new mark 55’s. That would make it a sub. A Layartebian sub sir. Allies.

Buchanan: Heading?

Sonar: Unknown contacts. The Spruance must have blocked it for us. Time to impact on the Spruance is now 41 seconds.

Lt.Cmdr. Cray: Sir, I recommend going quiet and relocating.

Buchanan nodded, and faced Lt. Rispan.

Buchanan: Diving officer, get me as fast as possible to the other side of the carpet. All ahead flank speed for 10 miles. then, slow to 1/3 and go to utlra quiet. Get the weapons ready to attack, ADCAPs and Harpoons. It’s time to earn our pay gentlemen.

The officers responded with the usual repeat of orders and "aye sir", and relayed the orders to their respective personell. At the same time, the reactor jumped to life from its slumber.

The Triumphant flew across the waters making 35 knots. At the same time, the poor fellows at Sonar tried to get a new fix on the Layartebian sub. It had to be a sub. There was no other explanation.

OOC: I'm firing on the Yankee Assault Fleet

"Conn, Sonar. The Cottlandish sub is onto us. They're heading out at 35 knots sir, making a lot of noise."

"Sonar, Conn. Aye, keep a tag on it. They're alerting the whole enemy to their presence." The Captain smiled. "Keep her steady. Helm."

"Aye aye sir."

"Fire Control, Conn. What's the situation?"

"Conn, Fire Control. Both ADCAPs hot sir. They're closing in on the targets and are true."

"Aye aye. Keep me informed. Plot solutions for the Sacramento, the Sirius, and the Emory."

"Aye aye sir." The solutions were plotted. The Cottland submarine was still only 3,000 yards away. Three ADCAP IIs were fired again, one at each of the three ships. They raced towards the targets at 200 feet and 45 knots. The Cottland submarine once again masked the Scythe. She had one more ADCAP remaining in the tubes as the other seven were being reloaded with three ADCAPs and four Harpoon IIs.

The Captain looked at the tactical plot. It showed all contacts and showed the Cottlandish submarine barreling to the northeast. He smirked, Don't these guys know the enemy has submarines out there? He look at the contact overlay to see the positions of the two fleets. He had enough torpedoes on the water to sink all of the supply ships and severely damage the carriers. The ADCAP IIs were also programmed to hone in on the propellars. One of them would slam into the propellars of the two carriers and the other would go straight for the middle. Which they might not sink the carriers, they would certainly make them inoperable, thereby making them easy to target with aircraft. Another Scythe would be coming into the combat area in another day and that would have a full assortment of weapons just like this one.

IC: As the Triumphant attracted the attention of the Moronyickan fleet, the other three Cottish subs (CCS Relentless, CCS Conqueror, CCS Courageous) approched from the other sides. They closed to 3000 meters before they let loose their deadly arsenal of ADCAPs and Harpoons.
The first volley consisted of 2 ADCAPs and 2 Harpoons from each submarine. A total of 6 ADCAPs and 6 Harpoons flew on their deadly course towards the fleet intel claimed was named "Yankee".

As soon as the Triumphant detected that her sistersubs had fired their weapons, she went to quiet mode faster then lightning and relocated quietly.

OOC: You guys better stop ravaging Moronyicka's fleet, and give him a chance to make a counter attack. I can't see how you would have got off all those torpedos if the fleet had 4 submarines to fire back at you with. But whatever...

IC: Amy Enfant looked over her reports. Two carriers and at least three... No, make that at least four wasps. Plenty of other surface ships, too. There had been no reports so far from Cotland or Layarteb on the status of their ASuW operations, so she assumed the submarines were not to the fleet yet. She picked up her telephone at her desk and dialed the number for her fleet admiral, David C. Harmly.

"Admiral Harmly, this is Commander Enfant. I need you to deploy the 23rd Task Force. Give them orders to attack the Moronyickan fleet. Tell them to target the Kitty Hawks and the Wasps. We can't let their Wasps land, because they may very well have superior numbers to the small Swaziland occupation force."

Next, she dialed the number of the commander of the air force base at Manzini.

"Commander, get some more of your planes on that fleet. Use a squadron of F-35s, F-27s, and F-22s. Bring in several Vipers and A-17s as close support."

Lastly, she called the President, Vale Odgers.

"Mr. President, we desperately need support at Swaziland. They have numerous surface ships in their fleet. I need to ask you to deploy the 3rd Heavy Battlefleet for support."

Vale looked over his reports closely and then answered.

"Permission granted. The Invincible Guillen and the rest of the 3rd are on their way."

Rear Admiral Whitecomb watched as the scout planes were destroyed. Their was no doubt now, they new they were here.

The fleet continued to move forward. The Sierra fleet was about 8 hours away. All was going well until a captain came running up to the admiral.

Captain: Sir, our radar's have picked something up, a torpedo. It went past one of our Sacramentos.

Whitecomb: Hmmm. It must have been a bad shot... from a submarine. I want you to order our subs to look for it. If we--

The Admiral was cut of by an underwater explosion from one of the Kittyhawks. Before the water from the first explosion hit the surface of the water, another explosion came from the same AC.

The Kitty Hawk came to halt, but did not sink. It was damaged too severely to move.

Soon, another torpedo hit the second Kitty Hawk. The AC had some damage in the lower levels, but was still able to move.

The attack halted for only a couple of minutes and then a Kidd class destroyer was hit with two torpedoes, one right after the other. Immdieatly the ship started to sink. People jumped over board, some with small boats, others with just life jackets.

Then, everyone watched in horror as another Kidd class sunk.

A single Harpoon struck the Spuarance class. The crew rushed around to extinguish the fire that the missile had caused.

Another torpedo hit the Stores ship causing severe damage.

Their only cruiser, was then pounded by harpoon missiles. One after the other, explosion erupted across the ships hull. As soon as the attack had stopped the ship began to sink.

Whitecomb: How the Hell did this happen?! I want those subs taken out now!

White Comb then switched on his comm to Rear Admiral Franks, head of Sierra fleet.

Whitecomb: Whitecomb to Franks. Franks; do you read me?

Franks: I read you, what's your status?

Whitecomb: We've been hit with heavy fire from a submarine. I suggest Sierra fleet holds position until we can eliminate this threat

Franks: I copy, Sierra fleet holding position.

_____________________________________________________________________________

The Moronyickan submarines were looking for who fired the shots. Among them were 2 Seawolfs and 2 Sturgons. They scanned through the water with their sonars, looking for anything that could be responsible

Captain: Sir, we've picked something up. We can't identify it, our guess is its from Layarteb. Orders?

Whitecomb: Fire at will captain. Do not stop until that thing is destroyed.

The crew of the Seawolf loaded up the MK-48 Torpedoes. Once they were all ready, the captain ordered them to fire. Four rapid shots left the submarine and headed for the enemy. The Sonar guided torpedoes cruised through the water. It would arrive at the target any minute

CCS Courageous, somewhere outside Swaziland

The Courageous eased herself throu the water, making only 8 knots. Her towed array were out, listening and trying to calculate the location, using the direction of the Mk 48's fired from the enemy sub to find her.
It sounded like a Seawolf, a class also used by the Cottish Navy. The crew of the Courageous had training in tracking that type of subs, and more often then not they had won the mock attacks against the Cottish Seawolfs. But this was no training exercise. It was real combat, and the Courageous had already sunk one ship. A Kidd class destroyer, and participated in the destruction of the cruiser with 2 Harpoons. All talk were restricted to only the most neccissary, and even then, it was only wispering.

Sonar: Sir, we have a bearing on the Seawolf. 1-0-5, 4000 meters.

Captain: Copy. Weapons control, get me two ADCAPs. Anti sub configuration.

Anti sub meant that the torpedo wouldn't detonate under the vessel like it did when attacking a surface vessel like the Kidd they'd sunked, but instead detonate when it struck the hull of the ship.

http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/nssn-backsub.jpg

CCS Relentless, 2000 meters off Courageous' starboard side
The Relentless sailed in formation 2000 meters off the Courageous' starboard bow, making 8 knots. The ship was as silent as the grave. This formation were a new tactic in the Cottish submarine force. The subs were too far away to be hit with one salvo, but still close enough to assist eachother, should they be attacked.
The Triumphant and the Conqueror sailed in a similar formation on the other side of the enemy fleet, just like planned. The Relentless prepared her torpedoes too, searching for the enemy subs.

Inside the Relentless, the morale was slightly higher then before the attack started. They had partisipated in the attack on the Kidds, but their target (codenamed Sierra 5) had evaded their ADCAPs, and escaped unharmed. They had, however, fired 2 Harpoons on the California, effectively sunken it. Now, they were waiting for the subs to be picked up. They also had a bearing on the Layartebian sub, but that contact was fading in and out.

ESM operator:Sir, I've got missiles. A whole bunch of them. Tracking... It looks like they're heading for the enemy sir.

It was no more then a wisper, but still someone hushed on the 19-year old submariner. The Captain replied with the same, silent wisper.

Captain: That's probably the Germanians. Better late then never. Sonar, get me a fix on the subs ASAP. And someone get me some coffee.

OOC: Active pings are very bad. They give you away. Thank you...Just FYI on some things. As deep as I was it's doubtful the active ping would have nailed but I'll give it to you that you found something faint enough to fire torps. Also, my ADCAP IIs have the same signature as a normal ADCAP so there would be no telling the difference. Lastly, there's no viable intel that I am actually in this fight.

"Conn, Sonar. We've got an active ping in the water!"

"Sonar, Conn. They get a fix?"

"Conn, Sonar. Hard to say sir. Hold on. Torpedoes in the water. Four of them."

"Sonar, Conn. Bearing?"

"One-two-zero sir. Eighteen thousand yards. ADCAPs."

The captain looked over at the tactical plot. "Weapons. Snapshot one ADCAP II at one-two-zero. Send it out non-acoustic, forty knots. We'll guide through the wire."

"Aye sir." The torpedo was launched. "Torpedo away. Homing good."

"Helm. Take her down to twenty-two hundred, speed twelve knots, heading zero-three-zero."

"Aye sir." The orders were repeated and the Scythe sped up, sinking beneath the waves where it would be even quieter. At twelve knots the submarine made little noise. This far below the layer not even an active ping could detect her. The countermeasures were ready though, prepared to be used if necessary.
********************************************************
Thirty miles away, the other Scythe came into the area. She was deep, at twenty-seven hundred feet, moving at fifteen knots. She was too far away to detect what was going on with her sister ship and she was also too far away to be detected. The captain was bringing her in well. "Helm, make your depth sixty feet, four knots."

"Aye sir." The Scythe rose slowly and quietly, the pressure differential system active to preventing the popping that was normally associated with diving under nine hundred feet. She was loaded with ten UGM-176B Tomahawk II ASMs. This gave her a brutal striking capability against enemy shipping.

It took some time to get up to sixty feet but when she did, both the radar and the ESM masts were raised. Immediately, all surface contacts became known and the tactical plot expanded. The masts were lowered and the submarine sank down to one hundred and fifty feet.

The captain, an experienced man, looked over the plot. "Okay we've got carriers here and here." He continued his notes. "This one is dead in the water, this one moderately damaged. Alright. Put two Tomahawks onto the dead carrier and two onto the other. Target the main reactor room on both. Flight profile is this. Launch static-float. Ignite burn on surface. Cruise altitude 90,000 feet. Downward 45° attack, mach 2.2 onto carriers. We'll have so much fuel left over it'll help the eight hundred pound warhead."

Static-float launch meant that the Tomahawks were launched and floated to the surface before igniting. It took six minutes from a depth of 150 feet. By that time the Scythe would be heading southwest at twenty-two hundred feet and ten knots.

They were fired and the Scythe descended quickly, her towed sonar array coming with her. Six minutes later, as the Scythe was nearing 2,200 feet, the Tomahawks lit and streaked upwards at Mach 1.2 to 90,000 feet where they would fire down onto the carriers. They had a range of 750 miles so 30 miles was nothing for them!

Six of the 14 CGN-9 GPS Guided Stealth Modified Missile Ships were in range of the Moronyickan fleet. The added and custom-designed stealth factor made them appear on radar as large whales.

Kapitän Uhlrech: "Moronyickan fleet picked up on radar. Ensign, prepare to fire the long-range Kormorans. Have them fly at 12 feet above the water. They won't be able to knock them out. Now, ensign."

Ensign Jurgen: "Jawohl, Herr Kapitän!"

24 Kormoran-III Anti-Ship Missiles burst out of each of the 6 CGN-9 GPS Guided Stealth Modified Missile Ships.

144 total Kormoran-III's sped towards the Moronyickan fleet, each with their own target.

The overall goal was to sink the aircraft carriers and battleships.

5 U-219 NSSN Attack Submarines (based on the same technology as the Virginia Class NSSN's) approached the fleet at 14 knots. They were moving quiet as a whisper.

Just as the Kormoran-III's launched off from the missile ships, the 5 U-219's hurled off 2 ADCAPs each. Every U-219 targetted a WASP.

Just after 2 were fired, the tubes were reloaded, the WASPs' positions were relocated and 10 more ADCAPs were launched.

The helicopter carrier was loading up 20 NH-90-II Transport Helicopters, each with 15 ESPK Special Ops inside. Once the carriers and WASPs were sunk, the German Special Ops would raid the remaining ships and commandeer them.

The plan was to then use the enemy ships for espionage purposes.

The Moronyickan fleet was on its last legs, and the Germanians would finish it off...

"2-7IOW Delta, this is Tamakin. Engage, I repeat, engage. Destroy all Moronyickan aircraft you see."

"Roger that, Tamakin. Engaging now."

As the Scythe moved down deeper, to twenty-seven hundred feet, sonar picked up more launches. "Conn, Sonar. More torpedoes in the water. Heading to the Wasps sir."

"Sonar, Conn. Keep a talley so we don't waste ammunition."

"Aye sir."

The captain turned back to the tactical plot and watched as the contacts bore down on the Wasps, the near uncountable number of torpedoes in the water, it made it hard to decipher what was what. All Layartebian ADCAPs would have to be fired semi-active guidance. There were too many torpedoes out there to shoot them off actively or passively, there were too many objects to confuse them. All tubes were reloaded, four with ADCAP IIs and four with Harpoon IIs.

"Sonar, Conn. We've got another contact, faint, bearing two-seven-nine sir. Plant noise puts it as a Sturgeon sir. Eight thousand yards moving one-three-five."

"Weapons! Does the torpedo have the fuel to take that out?"

"Aye sir. And then some."

"Change your target. What's the time of impact?"

"Twelve thousand yards to go, fifty-five knots, it'll take a little over six and a half minutes."

"Make it so."

"Aye sir. Weapon changed." The ADCAP II immediately changed direction and speed. It went into attack mode on the enemy Sturgeon, which was somewhere around 800 feet moving at ten knots, rather quiet. But the reactor plant noise was picked up on the ultra-low frequency sonar.

It was about three minutes after the first attack. The fleet was trying to regroup. The sea battle had been going on for longer the 8 minutes, Whitecomb didn't know why but for some reason that felt like an accomplishment (:))

About a minute later and the attack resumed. Harpoons slammed into the hulls of each the kitty hawks. The disabled AC was the first to began sinking. Pilots scrambled to take off from the deck as other jumped overboard.

Another wave of harpoons soon hit the ships. The first harpoon hit the already sinking kitty hawk, which was then destroyed even worse. The second missile hit the other AC, which also sank as pilots took off.

Whitecomb: CAPTAIN! TELL THE ADMIRAL WERE RETREATING!

Several more missile hammered the last remaining SPRUANCE, which sunk right away. Two more crashed into the remaining KIDD class. One of the damaged Kidds sunk but the other did not.

The remains of Yankee began to turn, preparing to retreat.

______________________________________________________________________________

The seawolf had no reports of the torpedo hitting its target. With still a faint idea of were the enemy sub was, the Sturgeon was ordered to fire. It loaded up 5 ADCAP (this time using passive sonar) and fired in the direction of the enemy sub.

While the vanguard seawolf waited for the missile to get to its target, something showed up on its radar.

Ensign: Captain, we have several incoming torpedoes, the're coming from the other direction.

Captain: Prepare for impact! I need--

The captain was cut off as the first torpedo hit the subs hull, followed by another.

Ensign: Sir we have a breach of the hull. Vast amounts of water is pouring in. Should I--

Two more torpedoes hit the side of the sub splitting it in two ... killing everyone onboard.

As another torpedo headed towards the Sturgeon, it was hit by a salvo of Moronyickan missiles.

Most of the subs got the order to retreat with the rest of the fleet. However, the same sub that had just fired at the enemy, was ordered to stay behind and hold them off.

________________________________________________________________________________

Back on the surface, the fleet was caught off guard when a hail of missiles came from the other direction. Many of the missiles hit the already sinking ACs and destroyers. The last remaining destroyer was crushed by missile after missile. What was left of the disabled Siruis was also destroyed by the missiles.

What was left of the fleet was now facing away from Swaziland and starting to retreat. They were heading back towards Moronyicka at maximum speed when one of the Wasps was picked off by a torpedo. As they kept moving they lost one wasp after the other until they were down to two. Then, the attack paused.

________________________________________________________________________________

While some of the aircraft followed the fleet hoping to reach an AC before they ran out of fuel, others stayed behind and engaged the enemy.

Several aircraft ingaged enemy helicopters while others targeted Binthors aircraft. They didn't stand much of a chance for survival, but they wouldn't go down without a fight.

________________________________________________________________________________

Two of the remaining subs cruised away at 26 knots, leaving only one Sturgeon. As they awaited to see if the torpedoes had hit their targets, the captain ordered that they ready every last missile.

CCS Courageous

The Courageous’ control room was in the seventh heaven. They had sunk the enemy Seawolf. All the ADCAPs they had fired had hit home, and now they were preparing to get out of the area. So far they had fired 6 ADCAPs and 2 Harpoons and all weapons had hit their targets.
Only one thing remained: To fire off their last Harpoons.

Captain: Helm, take us to periscope depth Nice and quiet. Weapons, prepare our last Harpoons. Let’s make them hurt real bad.

The NCOs and officers scurried around, preparing their last shots for this time well. The firing simulation ran thru the computer three times before they felt confident enough to actually fire. They didn’t want to loose their outstanding record of no misses. The two Wasps were the next vessels on the firing list. The Harpoons fired, two on Wasp 1 (Sierra 10) and two on Wasp 2 (Sierra 11).

CCS Relentless

Cruising along, the Relentless prepared to exit the area as well.

Sonar: Conn, sonar. I’ve got a submerged contact at 3-1-1. Plant noises tell me that it is a Sturgeon sir. Range 7000 meters.

The Captain looked over to the weapons station, but the men there were already preparing him a firing solution. It would have to be ADCAPs again. It didn’t matter. They had plenty of them still left. But they had to fire off the Harpoons, because once they reached dock at Lakshadweep, they would be fitted with the new sub-Lance anti-ship missile. The plans and production rights had been purchased from Preatonia a long time ago, but the weapon was only recently entering service. Well well. It was said to be much better then the Harpoon.

Weapons NCO: Sir, we have a solution.

The Captain looked on the solution. It called for the use of 2 ADCAPs, and they would have to approach without active sonar. That meant guiding the torpedo manually through a wire.

Captain: Very well. Get the weapons into position. Prepare to fire tube 1 and 2, full spread. Make their speed 40 knots, depth 140 meters. When they are within 600 meters, take them up and ping them hard.

The firing team did as ordered, and within seconds, the weapons were programmed and good to go.

Captain: Fire tube one. Fire tube two.

The fleet thought that they were away from the enemy, they were wrong. From behind came 4 harpoon missiles. The fact that the missiles were launched from so far away played to Moronyicka's advantage. The furthest wasp fired 4 Sea Sparrow missiles, knocking two enemy missiles down.

The remaining two enemy missiles hit the other Wasp, sinking it. The fleet didn't have time to stop, it just reloaded the missiles and pressed on.

A few Arsenal ships slowed down so the wasps could pass them, they would provide a better missile defense.

The Captain looked on the radar image they got before the dive down below the thermal layer.

Captain: Damn. They got two of our Harpoons. Well, it's time to pull out the big artillery. Take us to launch depth Open vertical launch tubes. Prepare to fire Tomahawks.

The crew gulped. Was he crazy? Tomahawks from only 20 000 meters away?

XO: Sir, that would not be wise. The missile defence of the enemy shot down Harpoons. What would they do to the Tomahawks? They'd be sitting ducks. If we are to further engage, I recommend using the ADCAPs.

The Captain thought about this for a little while. Then, he turned towards the weapons station.

Captain: Correction. Close VLTs, open outer doors. Ready ADCAPs, full salvo. Target the remaining Wasp. Depth 230 meters, right below the thermal layer. 40 knots when they exit the tubes, then max when they've run 5000 meters. Wire-guide the fish as far as possible. Once they get within range, wait with the pinging till they are 1000 meters away. Helm, once we fire, get us the hell out of here. Set course for the rendevous point, 14 knots.

OOC: Couple of things. "As another torpedo headed towards the Sturgeon, it was hit by a salvo of Moronyickan missiles." Huh? The Sturgeon is a very old SSN. Also what missiles are you talking about? Underwater anti-torpedo rockets or something? Also you didn't address anything I said in post 66 with the 2 OOC comments (top & bottom).

The Second Scythe moved in closer and quiet, eight knots at 2,200 feet. It detected the fleet moving towards them, at twenty-six knots.

"Conn, Sonar. Yankee fleet moving towards us at twenty-six knots sir."

"Aye. Range?"

"Twenty-thousand yards sir. Closing fast."

"Very well. Weapons. Four ADCAP IIs on my command. One per submarine, one on the Sacramento, and one on the Emory."

"Aye sir."

"Fire!"

"Torpedoes away sir. Passive guidance set sir."

"Aye. Keep me informed."
**********************************************************************
On board the first Scythe, the torpedo launches were detected. "Sonar, Conn. Four torpedoes incoming from two, two, one. They're not pinging sir."

Passive. Shit. "Weapons. Ready countermeasures. Fire a full spread on my mark. Helm prepare for quick ascend. We're going up to 400 feet."

"Aye sir."

"Helm. All ahead flank."

"Aye sir. All ahead flank."

"Sonar, Conn. Torpedoes in the water against the Sturgeon."

"Aye sonar. Range of incoming?"

"Seven thousand yards sir."

"Aye." He pushed a button on his stop watch and timed the torpedoes.

The torpedoes closed slowly, the Scythe doing forty knots, towing in the sonar array for the ascent so as to not damage it. The countermeasures would provide a noise barrier for the Scythe, making enough noise between the two of them to drown out the Scythe. Aside from the two noisemakers were two jammers that send out a sharp signal throughout the water for fifteen hundred yards meant to scramble the guidance systems of any torpedoes within its range.

As the torpedoes closed, locked onto the Scythe now that it was doing forty knots, the captain eyed the stop watch. He had put the torpedoes to his side and they were closing in, moving at some fifty-five knots a piece. When they were a mere eight hundred yards away, some twenty seconds off, the maneuver was done.

"Weapons. Launch your countermeasures. Helm, put us up to four hundred rapidly." The captain held on as the four countermeasures were dropped from the submarine and the sub took a near 45° ascent towards four hundred feet, accelerating as it rose. In just a few short moments and some six hundred feet, the submarine was moving at sixty knots, the ascent on the edge of control.

Well, if my ships are traveling at 20 knots, that's the same as 11 yards per second, which is 660 yards per minute. If I've been traveling for more then 5 minutes I would be more then 3,300 yards away. You torpedo can acquire targets from up to 1,600 yards

Yep. But the ADCAP can be wire-guided. There should be enough length on the wire for the torpedoes to come within range. I can change to wire-guided if you'd be more comfortable with that. My fish are traveling at 55 knots, so they should hit approx. 1 minute after launch (given that my math is correct).

Briggs: Load up six torpedos and fire them where you think they came from.

Ensign: But sir, that will only leave us with two, of we do evade the torpedos we won't--

Briggs: Just do it Ensign, I don't think we'll neeed any weapons after the torpedos hit

Everyone already knew that they were going to die out here, but the Captains words destroyed the last bit of hope they had.

Briggs: Yes sir. Torpedos away.

Joshua Briggs reached into his pocket and pulled out a picture of his family, he looked upon them for the last time.

Ensign: Sir, their coming in close... I can't shake them... Brace for impact.

The captain wasn't paying a bit of attention to the ensign, he was only focused on his family.

As the first torpedo impacted the hull, it shook the entire sub. As the sub shook Briggs dropped the frame of his family that he was holding. It feel and then shattered on the steal floor. Seconds later the 2nd torpedo hit, obliterating the sub. The Sturgeon's job was now done, it was up to yankee to get back before the enemy got to them

Kapitän Uhlrech: "Excellent. The fleet is done with. Hit that aircraft carrier in the Sierra Fleet with an EMP air-burst missile. Prepare a 200-member ESPK Op raiding team. We're comandeering that AC."

The Tier-9 EMP Missile fired off of one of the NG-CGN Class GPS Guided Missile Ships and headed for the aircraft carrier. Eight decoy missiles flew in front of it. Even if it was taken out before it hit the aircraft carrier, the EMP blast would knock out all radar, guidance, tracking, and navigation equipment on the aircraft carrier. As well as all electric power.

A C-18A, launched from an aircraft carrier specifically designed to carry one C-18A and a raiding party, flew towards the aircraft carrier, supported by 18 MiL-31-IIC jets. The fighter/bombers would take out all manual AAA and SAM sites on the carrier, then the Ops would parachute onto the ship and take it over...

OOC: Cool thanks. I need to make reattack capability I see. Rather have them miss though than explode prematurely. Anyhow. What's the displacement on those Godzilla's?

OOC:

Layarteb -- I'm not really sure about that, both of the places with specs for it don't have that listed. Its not custom made by Moronyicka, I get them from Wolf America

North Germania-- Ummm. My fleet has been moving for a long time while your fleet just sat there. It would be a bit questionable if you attacked Yankee, but to attack Sierra which is nowhere near your fleet? And, what is your point in this battle, if your here to protect Binthor then you should see that I'm retreating, if your here to attack Swaziland and was just getting me out of your way, then your going the wrong way. I suggest you rethink your tactics.

Sierra escorts, Indian Ocean, heading towards Yankee fleet.

The group of Destroyers, Cruiser, Arsenal ships and a submarine headed towards Yankee fleet. The escorts were moving at about 20 knots.

Over the horizon they could now see a small group of ships, it was supposed to be Yankee fleet. The damage was worst then they expected, there must have been other nations involved.

Commander Blade: This is Commander blade of Sierra fleet. Yankee, do you read me?

Yankee Fleet, Indian Ocean, heading towards Moronyicka

Rear Admiral Whitecomb: I read you Sierra. Boy, are you a sight for sore eyes.

The Sierra ships began to turn, preparing to return to the rest of Sierra fleet. By the time the Yankee ships got there, the Sierra ships were completely turned around. As Yankee was reunited with the escorts, they took off towards Moronyicka at 23 knots.

After about 18 minutes they were back with the rest of Sierra fleet. They then reported what happened to the King and waited for him to decide weather or not to continue the campaign

CCS Astute, 38 000 meters behind Sierra fleet

Unbeknownst to the Moronyickans, a Cottish Virginia class submarine, silently followed them. The range was 38 000 meters, just close enough for the sonar operators to hear them, yet too far away for the Moronyickans to hear them on passive. She had just been at periscope deapth to peek on the naval vessels and sent back reports to the rest of the wolfpack. Now, they knew that Yankee had joined Sierra.

Wolfpack 12, 120 nautical miles away from Sierra

The other 7 Virginias and 1 Seawolf had just finished rearming from the Howard Johnson, and prepared to join the Astute near the Sierra fleet. It would be a dangerous strech to travel. They would have to go at max speed (35 knots) in order to have a chance of getting there in time. The Captain of the Superb was the wolfpack commander, so he'd have to decide if the Astute were to engage the enemy. If so, he'd have to use the Tomahawks.

OOC: In total, the fleet have available:
74 Tomahawks
56 sub-Lances
248 ADCAPs

Live television broadcast, Moronyickan Royal Palace.

King Jedo: Good evening citizens of Moronyicka. I come to you tonight with news of our campaign in Swaziland. As it turns out, almost the entire Yankee assault fleet has been destroyed, we have reason to believe that other nations were involved in the defense of Binthor.

I have found in the best interest of Moronyicka to cease all offensive actions against the nation of Binthor. However, this might not be the last time we attempt to liberate Swaziland. We feel that there are more important issues at this time then expansion.

My hart goes out to the families of those who lost their lives in this conflict. I ask that the citizens of Moronyicka would be strong at this time. All of the surviving members of Yankee assault fleet will be on their way home, to their families. They will also receive pay bonuses for their heroic actions.

I am currently working out a plan to increase naval funding, because a strong army and a strong airforce won't do us any good if we are unable to deliver it there.

So then this is it, tomorrow we will resume our lives

Thank you and good night.

High Command, Cotlandstad

Admiral Howard Smythe looked down on the tactical plot. Wolfpack 12, or W12 were almost in position. Within morning, they would sink the remainder of the Moronyickan fleet once and for all.

Lt.Commander: Sir, sir. Newsbrief. Moronyicka surrenders sir. They've ordered the remaining fleet to withdraw. We won, sir.

Admiral: Confirm the message. Send a message to W12. Tell them to hold their fire. New ROE: Fire only when fired upon. Do you understand?

Lt.Commander: Yessir!

The Lt.Commander ran off to the Comms office to send the message.

Wolfpack 12, CCS Superb

Radio operator: Sir, recieving Emergency Action Message. Reccomend Alert One, reccomend Alert One.

Captain: Mr. Cobb, take her up to 15 meters. Raise the ESM mast. Get the transmission and get us down to 300 meters again.

The Superb rose from her relatively safe location 300 meters below the waves to 15 meters, hung around for 2 minutes and sunk down to 300 meters again. The message was decoded and its authenticity confirmed. The orders read:

Start transmission
To: CCS Superb SSN-894
From: High Command Cotland
1. Sieze all hostile actions against Moronyickan naval forces.
2. New ROE: Fire only if fired upon.
3. Maintain position
4. ADM. Smythe sends
End transmission

The Superb contacted the rest of the subs, and they all breathed more easily. One hour later, they recieved orders to leave the area quietly and to sail back to Lakshadweep Naval Base. The Moronyickan fleet never knew how close they came to destruction.

Electorial Palace, Cotlandstad. The same evening

Elected Leader Thomas Rothsky: People of Cotland. It is my duty and pleasure to tell you this evening, Cotland has achieved a major victory. Let me start in the beginning.

A week ago, the nation of Binthor came under threath of invasion from Moronyickan naval forces. Binthor requested help from everywere. In response, our ally North Germania sent naval forces. As did we. A total of 9 of our submarines have been in the combat area, but only 4 have actually fired weapons. The total tally ended with the following ships sunk by Cottish submarines: 2 nuclear submarines, 5 destroyers, 2 assault ships and one cruiser. Cottish losses are zero.

The Cottish submarines, aided by North Germania and Binthor, destroyed most of the Moronyickan fleet, and were prepared to destroy another fleet sent by Moronyicka to help in the invasion. It is my great pleasure to tell you that the second fleet was not destroyed, due to the Moronyickan kings order for his forces to stop fighting. I thank the king for stopping the need to shed more blood, and hope that the bodies of those lost can be recovered and given a decent burial. Cotland is willing to assist in the recovery work, should help be needed.

I also wish to thank our submariners for their effort and courage. On behalf of Cotland, Thank You.

OOC: Sorry I haven't been in on this much for the last few days. I just went back to school and they've been loading us up with homework.

Public IC: Binthor thanks Cotland and North Germania greatly for their assisstance in the plight of Swaziland. The sailors of these two nations should be proud of their valor, as are the citizens of Binthor. Binthor offers to pay in full to both Cotland and North Germania for weapons expended in the defense. We hope to extend diplomatic relations to these nations at a later time for this great favor they have done for us. Thank you again.
-President Vale Odgers

Secret IC, Layarteb: We thank the great nation of Layarteb for their needed assisstance in this conflict. Without the valiant sailors of the Empire, Moronyickan military forces could have reached Swaziland and many more lives could have been lost than were. We again offer to pay in full for your time and weapons expended. You may not get any thanks from the citizenry of Binthor, but know this: The ranking military and political leaders in this nation thank you enormously.

OOC:

This is Earth II. I've got bigger plans and things to worry about than picking a fight with a few foreign fleets belonging to a nation I've never had any encounter with near Australia, nearly on the other side of the world from my home lands.

To be more precise: I have no interest whatsoever in you, nor your fleet, except one of your ships.

The two Scythe class submarines rested at 1,800 feet. They recieved the news that the nation of Moronyicka had surrendered. It was over, for now. The number of actual kills by the Layartebian submarines was largely unknown due to the plethora of torpedoes. However, they were still alive. They had a few close calls, some too close for comfort, but in all they prevailed. The submarines made their way back for port in Ynoga, where they would be relieved by a pair of Seawolf Class submarines. Their presence had never been isolated nor discovered and they were ghosts, just as the Empire wished.

The Emperor looked over the report listing. "Good. They surrendered." He smiled. "Send our congradulations to Binthor and thank him for keeping our presence secret."
