Dreaded Shrike
22-12-2004, 22:54
After eons of silence the Time Tombs of Hyperion began to open. These were not mere doors upon the Tomb but the great veil of energy surrounding the shrine. Scientists from every corner scoured the temples trying to gain access to the hidden wonders that lay within. Many years passed, and though analysis revealed that the opening in the veil was proceeding, no could be sure when they would in fact be open.
Over these years of excitement a fearsome entity appeared. The Shrike. Rumors of the Dreaded Shrike struck fear into the minds of all. A sleepless all seeing god that appeared and disappeared at will snatching souls. It was not long before cults began to worship this being, carrying on secret rituals and building temples. But even they were not immune to the Shrike’s wrath. No one could say how the Shrike chose its victims only that it struck from the lowest backwash bum to the never mentioned elite.
A myth formed slowly at first, but over the years grew to such intensity that even the god fearing clergy considered it fact. Those that ventured to the Time Tombs and sought commune with the Shrike might be granted one wish. The Holy pilgrims must number six, and only one would succeed, if any.
A new pilgrimage is being allowed by the Holy Empire of the Shrike. All those who wish to be considered for the next Holy Pilgrimage should proceed to the nearest Temple of the Shrike for an audience.
