The Fuhrer stepped up to his podium in front of the thousands of people and associated press that flocked to his announcement of the day. Usually these announcements detailed war, oppression, maybe tax raises.

And it was also going to be like that today...

"Citizens of Witzgall, it's Empire, and the International Community of the World. I am here, addressing you today, with all the powers of our great nation entrusted within myself. It has come to my attention that several "seperatist" groups have risen out of the dust and clouds in our beautiful Empire, calling themselves such ridiculous names as "The Deliverers"." the Fuhrer said, rising in his voice as he went along.

"It has also been brought to my attention that such groups have begun conflicts with military outposts in Italy and Germany. I have yet to hear about our situation in France, but just last week a hotel exploded into flames. I blame these groups with a mind of thought and will power."

The Fuhrer looked throughout his "audience", his "crowd", the followers of Witzgall. He looked at all of the news cameras and innocent civilians. Amongst them, evil lurked.

"I hereby declare all bibles illegal, as well as anything else faith or religiously inspired. These books and codes have become too much of a hassle for the government, and only bring hatred and death."

The Fuhrer stopped and thought about what he was about to say. Should I? I suppose I must...

"If any nation or organization sees this as wrong, persecution of religion, then you see it for what it is."

The crowd became an uproar. The Fuhrer had just admitted what he was doing was an act of clear oppression, a traitor act towards civil rights.

"But...if you do not wish to "stick to your guns" and use actions instead of words, so be it. The Empire of Witzgall will not stand down from its act, and the Council backs my act with full support. We have discussed the law, and it has become in effect. I ask all civilians residing inside the Witzgallian Empire to bring their Bibles, Korans, Torahs, Vedas, and other religiously inspired books of doctrine or otherwise to their local military base for inspection and cleansing."

The Fuhrer once again stopped, trying to see the overall reaction he was recieving.

"All churches or religious embassies or missionaries have twenty four hours to close down and move their quarters out of our Empire. We cannot hold you anymore."

The Fuhrer knodded in self acceptance, and stepped down from the podium. The speech was on a live feed throughout the world, and all who dared would watch it.

The Mayor of New Stamford has voiced his opposition to this decision. However, instead of pursuing a war or economic sanctions that would surely backfire, he offeres to transport 100,000 refugees to live in New Stamford's Samoa holdings.
