The Confederate States of Mestionian are sickened by the wanton death and destruction that are currently plaguing this world which we all share. This senseless display of all that is wrong with man's character has demonstrated to the CSM that order must be restored, and peace once again secured, so that all men may live in harmony with one another.
The United Nations have proven rather inept in their role as the collective world's governing body. They do nothing but debate and discuss frivolous topics, while ignoring the disease of war that has infected our great planet. We can no longer rely on an anachronistic, powerless world government to settle the great issues of the day, what we need, what the world needs, is action.
It is for these very reasons that the Confederate States of Mestionian propose the expansion of the Order of the White Stone. The members of this community have seen the often conflict-rife Mestionian states through many a border dispute and quite a few trade negotiations. They are skilled diplomats, as well as well-trained soldiers, and so they are in fact the perfect keepers of the peace.
The Order of the White Stone was created by King Dirk I of Mestionian nearly three hundred years ago after the Rebellandi Invasion. Due to the near biblical loss of life on the side of Mestionian, the great king ordered the creation of a secret society devoted to the prevention of conflict, and the protection of innocents. It was so that the first ten clerics of the Order were confirmed by King Dirk, and Mestionian became a nation of reason and peace.
The Order of the White Stone derives its name from an ancient Azerian folktale that tells of a benevolent king, deposed by maurauders, who was beheaded on the white stone slab that had served as an emblem of his rule. It is believed that when the great king was killed, that the stone showed not a trace of blood, and that despite their best efforts, the maurauders could not scratch it. This story serves as a rallying cry to all clerics of the Order, as it is a symbol of the triumph of good over evil, and love over hate.
The Order of the White Stone saw Mestionian through her transition from a monarchy to a confederacy with nearly zero lives lost. They have the complete faith of the Confederate government of Mestionian, and have never let the country down.
To be confirmed a cleric in the Order of the White Stone, one must spend extensive time practicing meditation, intense study of the law, and general pacifism. When a student is deemed ready, he must undergo four trials, which upon successful completion will confer upon him the title of cleric. Upon accepting the title of cleric of the Order, one must sever all bonds to their home country and pledge allegiance only to the quest for peace and to the Order. Clerics may not be married, and both men and women are acceptable candidates.
Clerics, though they are taught to be calm and gentle by nature, are also trained in mortal combat, both armed and unarmed, because often times peace may only be secured though the elimination of an agressor. It is reasoned that should a cleric need to use his lethal skills, one death is better than one million.
Mestionian proposes that each nation of the world send two of their finest citizens, be they soldier, politician, or civilian to seek confirmation as a cleric in the Order of the White Stone. Once confirmed, these men will share power equally among a general assembly, whose decisions are based on the vote of the majority, and will be dispatched to troubled regions in the world to seek unbiased diplomatic resolutions to problems.
