Knootoss

KNN Journalist Condoleeza van der Meer was sitting in front of her computer. Mocking herself. "Bah, that assignment was due pretty soon", she considered, as she still had not found out the stances of the candidates in the Artitsan elections.

She took another drag from her cigarette, casually blowing the smoke up towards the ceiling as BunnyNet(tm) loaded for a complete websearch. Bored and unattentive, she put it out in her coffee.

Candidates policies on improving relation towards Knootoss, she queried, limiting her search to Artitsa. She included newsgroups and all the other shit that usually gave her the more in-depth info.

Impatiently she took another sip of her coffee, which tasted strangely tar-like.

To All Parties Interested
We would be interested in which party would support our nation the most, especially in the areas of trade and military support - we are hoping for a positive response from the New Progressive Liberal Party, as that is who we currenty support. If the NPLP accepts the offer I am about to propose, then we shall certainly support them;
An arms contract between the Revolutionary Soviet Union and Artitsa, concerning all types of Military Technology that Artitsa is importing
We hope that this offer, should it be accepted, would improve links between Artitsa and the Revolutionary Soviet Union. We would like to establish a small embassy in your nation, and you are free to do likewise.
What say ye?

Boris O'Connor favours improved relations with all nations of the world, including Knootoss. However, only Dimitri Milosvaji is prepared to improve relations with a select few nations, numbering around two dozen. The list does include Knootoss. Dimitri Milosvaji frowns upon free trade, but he can always come around if there are benefits to the people of Artitsa. The list can be found on the NPLP website.

Etaros

Brandi Valschayes, the Director of TEMAE (The Economic Monitoring Agency of Etaros), was doing her usual searches online. She came across something about Artitsan elections, something she usually would have passed up and continued her monitoring activities. Her job was to find information on economies around the world to keep up their activities, report any drastic changes, and take special note of more subtle ones. Her position was one of great weight; her failure to find a specific change in the economy of a trade partner of a trade partner could create drops in the Etaran economy. It was a very intricate web, and the mention of Iuthia in the Artitsan candidate list had intrigued her. When she realized what was at stake, she immediately filed a report to her superiors in the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

From there, the report went to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where staff would transport it to the ones who needed to read it. Due to the massive bureaucracy of the place, it took several hours before the report even reached the desk of a lowly secretary, who then ordered its shipment to her boss, who then ordered to his, who then ordered it to hers. After an hour or two of transportation, a copy of the report arrived on the desk of Liëssa Ciryatan, Minister of Foreign Affairs. She moved it to the side in place of something more important. About half an hour later, she finally read through the report. A small noise of interest was heard from her mouth, and she called the Erasito to inform him of the situation.

Ëtaros received the call just as he was beginning to straighten up his desk for the next day's work. "Well, yes, Liëssa, I'm glad you called. It's not really such a pressing matter and I don't know how it got to your desk so quickly, but I think it shouldn't hurt to support a candidate. Who's winning?" She sighed, sounding slightly annoyed. "The communist. I just told you that." He fought the urge to growl. Communism was his enemy. "Support the capitalist. It's in our best interests. If the commie wins, we can deal with it. If the capitalist wins, we've earned another asset for our economy." Liëssa assented, and immediately called the necessary people. It was then announced to the media that the UKE supported Elaine Vilosovic.
New Empire

The UCSNE has yet to endorse a candidate, though it is likely to be Dimitri, most analysts say. While this seems odd due to the Centrist Party's transition to Draka rule, the end result may be affected by this arms contract.

With Hyland-Nikolaas starting to face some troubles in New Empire from unconglomerated corporations or HNI member corporations working outside of the conglomerate, there are worries that the Hogswetian arms deal that rather than having Artitsa exporting weapons to Hogsweat, would serve the opposite. Though HNI executives seem confident their line of products better suits the needs of one of the cofounding member's homeland, there is concerns a loss of HNI sales in Hogsweat that is endorsed by these canidates may have reprecussions on the UCSNE economy.
Five Civilized Nations
19-12-2004, 22:33
The Five Civilized Nations fully support the nomination of Dimitri Milosvaji for the presidency. As the negotiations begin between the nations of New Empire, Artista, and ourselves on the subject of the Five Civilized Nations becoming a full partner in the Hyland-Nikolaas Corporation, we feel that Dimitri Milosvaji will best enable the creation of a tripartite conglomerate.

Well then, we fully support Dmitri Milosvaji and his plight to be President of Artitsa. We hope, should be become President, that our arms contract between our two glorious nations shall flourish and our Armies shall grow strong to protect the people of our Nations. The only qualms we have with Boris O' Connor is his devaluement of State Power.
