A new horizon

Grays Hill

President Allan Cooke walked up to the podium, and adjusted the microphone. He was preparing to deliver a world changing speech. He straightened his papers, and began:

“Ladies and gentlemen, I am happy that you could attend this historic land mark in Grays Hill’s great history. This speech may or may not have a profound affect on other nations in the world, but I know that it will on some. Especially those in the RWC, and those who actively hate the RWC. I no longer believe that it is in Grays Hill’s best interest to remain in this alliance. The stench of war looms in the distance, and for no good reason. Some nations in the RWC, which shall remain unnamed, have been quick to want to attack others. Even while still going though the diplomatic process.

“This is the reason for this speech today, ladies and gentlemen. Today as of 12 noon, Grays Hill will withdraw from the RWC. This will have a rather large affect on our nation. Though we are leaving, we wish to maintain the best of relations with those still in the RWC. The hatred of the RWC, by many nations, and the constant propaganda against it has tainted our credibility as a nation, and we wish to restore our once great reputation.

“As Grays Hill leaves the RWC, it will be searching for a new alliance, or starting one of its own. Any development of such, or course, will be relayed to the press, and then to you, the great citizens of Grays Hill, and the world. To the nations of the RWC I say this “It was a pleasure boys, but now we must leave. Good luck and God’s speed.”

With that, the press started snapping pictures, as Allan Cooke turned and left the podium. He thought to himself, “Is this REALLY in the best interest of Grays Hill?” His cabinet seemed to think so, and probably so did many other nations worldwide.

OOC:Please dont turn this thread into an RWC Flame fest.

OOC: We've already talked on MSN, glad you decided to do what you thought was best.

IC:

We are sorry to hear Grays Hill is leaving. We understand his reasons and wish them the best of luck in the future. We also want the world to understand this is an amicable departure between the RWC and Grays Hill, there is no ill feeling on either side, and this was suggusted as a means for Grays Hill to not get caught up in the unfolding events.

We hope your future is as bright as it should be,

Regards,

The Shadows,

We wish Grays Hill the best of luck. Though we did not maintain an extremely close relationship, the intelligence work and diplomatic attempts shown by Grays Hill was quite impressive. Farewell.

"What is this Gray Hill, alone, hmm, no a real suprise there they never were much for the sight of blood."

OOC: You might atract more allies if you show what you have to offer, ie myslef and anyone else looking to you as a "possible" ally, I stress the term "possible"

"Although we know not of your country the Federation is not likely to let a possible ally slip into chaos."

"If we are to speak of alliances there must be terms for dissucsion, and I believe you should begin."

OOC: Yes, but you must show prospecting countries what advantages would come from alligning with you. Such as millitary tech/bases, intelligence ie espionage, so on, like that

Well...Lets see I'm strong. I am modern tech, I have a large storefront, and I dont like espionage, tho if an alliance was to form, we need a nation that is capable of conducting espionage.
