Selling Land!

Golencia
19-12-2004, 07:58
OOC: DO NOT BUY IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO BE DRAGGED INTO AN RP LATER. AFTER YOU BUY LAND YOU CAN STATION NO MORE THAN 1 MILLION TROOPS THERE. IF YOU HAVE MORE YOUR CLAIM WILL BE NULL AND VOID, AND AN IGNORE CANNON WILL BE FIRED. NO NUKES OR OTHER WMDS, HOWEVER CHEMICAL WEAPONS ARE O.K. The New RP Im planning on cooking up for this is:

After the land has been bought a Nationalist Regime still loyal to Golencia will rise up numbering at 3 Million. Equipped with M16s, and some old Artillery. They have Anthrax Capability. They'll strike each occupying Nation in which case you'll most liekly need to ally with someone else to put down the Rebellion. However if you all join up the Rebels are more likely to take desperate measures. Besides if its only 2 or 3 of you, you can take the whole island and split it 3 ways.

IC:

Today the Emperor has announced the Holy Empire of Golencia is in short supply of some valuable assets to their war in Jerusalem and are selling their Island of Juristan to Pay for it. Descriptions

The Mines- The Mines which consume 1,000 Acres of Land produce 15 Tons of Uranium a year. They are old and with new machinery have much more potential. Included with the Mines are Trucks designed to carry the Uranium, and Gaurd Stations.

Southern Coast- This Hot Beach is greta to be year round. With not only beatiful women but amusement parks. Its the ideal place for Amphibious Assault Training, as well as a summer get away.

East Mountains- Snow year round makes this place ideal for Skiiers. Have an Army that you need to train in Winter Warfare? Then go no further because using the lift you can teach your armies what you want them to know at the top!

Southwest Cities- These Cities are bustling with research and educational oppurtunities. With Several Universities amongst them many Scholars attend here from around the Globe. Abuse your privilliages and make it impossible for your nation not to get students in here.

Central Forest- This is the perfect spot to go through and look at nature. Not only that! But you can bring your Army in and teach them how to survive out here during a war in the Jungle! Dont pass this great offer up!

Capital City and North Coast- This has been the Center of Diplomacy in this colony for many years. To the north are the labs which have produced invaluable assets. Unfortunately the Research was robbed and the Products were aswell. However these labs are ideal for Historical sites and future projects.

Western Desert- Well not much to say about this, other than somewhere out here Raiders are known to live. Which is why the kand is so Cheap!

Ports on Southeastern Shore- Ideal for Trade which has brought income for so many years to this colony. Don't miss out on a chance to further your trade or make a station so your navy or merchant ships can refuel.

Oil Fields- The Price explains it all. The Major Income for this Colony has been form the Oil. Not only has the Oil been used for the Navy, Army and Air Force of Golencia, but its not your chance to take the reigns of this bad boy and gain from it!

West Cities- Every nation has that one thing they wish they didn't and thats the Western Cities. For the most part Crime Free however some of the Cities are torn apart by Gang Wars which only a strong ruler can stop. IS that Ruler You?

Northeast Cities- With a coast and plenty of cities. You can have men work in factories or just another place to dump those unwanted people. No matter what your purpose they are great for you

Wow. I'd like to buy some also, my army needs both desert and jungle training grounds and I'm also in need of a port in the area. I'd like two sectors next to each other please man, with the jungle, desert and port for preference.

ooc: my nation is located in the northern pacific, so i think that logically it would make sense to establish some sort of naval base and maritime connection, so the ports in the southeast would make sense, but just to clarify, these are port cities, by that I mean some level of civilisation, correct? In addition, I think the southwest cities would also be welcome, however, i am curious with these in how far distant these cities are from the ports, because ideally i'd like the two sectors to be adjacent so i could further develop the two regions, and it makes it extremely difficult if they are not adjacent. If they aren't, I'll take something else, but if they are connected, then those two would do fine. And as for the payment, my nation has a, well suffice to say a roaring economy, so i think that my nation can easily afford the two bits of land. i hope this is sufficient.

We are constructing a large training facility in both sectors of the land, as well as aid centres and administrative buildings. To this end, we will be constructing a military base capable of supporting fifteen thousand infantry personel, as well as five times that number of non-combatants, pilots and tank crews. The companies in the base will largely be rotated to suit training demands. Temporary airsrips will be builtin the desert to cope with heavy traffic in the first few months of construction.

as for the land itself, do the cities have names, or should we feel free to name/re-name them. And what would be the attitudes of the people right now towards their new powers, what I am trying to get at, is will the rebels show more leniancy to kinder colonial masters or be simply brutal to all?
Golencia
20-12-2004, 02:28
Name them as you wish.
However the Capital is named Juristan City. The Rebels will be Brutal to all who attempt to supress them. However, they'll be kind to anyone who helps them accomplish their goals. In other words if you give them arms they will most likely not use them against you. If you help them Regain their land, they will praise you, and will either 1 Co-exist with you or 2 Decide their allegiance really lies in your nation.

The Falasturian 5th Army Force, consisting of around 1 million combat-ready troops, is being made ready for immediate dispatch to the newly-purchased territory on this Island. The force will be placed there for the sole reason of defense of the territory until Falasturian rule is established.

The 1st Army Group in the Force, consisting of around 400,000 soldiers in 8 Armies, will be located in and around the South-East ports Province. They will take up active defensive positions on the borders and on the coast, until such a time as they are recalled. The 2nd Army Group, consisting of around 400,000 soldiers in 8 Armies, will be located in the Southern coast Province, and will do likewise to the 1st Corps. The 3rd Army Group, around 200,000 men in 4 Armies, will primarily be in reserve, and will be used to rotate armies in and out of active duty.

OOC: An Army is supposed to be around 50,000+ soldiers, so I utilised the "Army Group" unit as a unit of varying size that is one step up from an Army, and then created a larger unit, the "Army Force" to group this whole force. It's better than trying to manage 20 different Armies at once, or so I thought.

Also, any idea how many citizens there are on this island, and how many in my sectors?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v600/slaytanist/GolisleS.gif

I've put down some decent roads to start, and have whacked up two quick compounds and a temporary airstrip. I've no idea about the economy of the nation: if I've said 'aid' when the economy's good consider it compensation or public works of sorts, rather than food or whatever.

1. Temporary airfield. Construction crews are constantly resurfacing the frankly rubbish runways. Traffic is lower than it was, with about 500 tons of equipment, supplies and passengers travelling through per day. A military force of 750 infantrymen and 20 ST-21 tanks remains here with adequate logistical support and supplies to last a while, in addition to 20 MiG 29s and 15 IL-76s, with support personel and a couple of IL-78s, good radar SAMs and a couple of Scuds and Hellbolts (our Patriot)

2. A half-finished military base. Rather a few of the buildings are still temporary shacks, and the whole thing is surrounded by three lines of sandbags and trenches, with bunkers spaced around the perimeter. Tanks and missiles lie under shambolic structures covered in tarp. The base holds fifteen thousand infantrymen, three times that number of support and logistics personel, sixty ST-21 tanks, and a number of missiles and support vehicles. Many construction crews and their vehicles are finishing the base, but it remains secure.

3. Desert training ground. A number of things are planned for this area, such as tank training grounds and mock villages, but all that exists for now are a few border patrols from 2.

4. Desert City. Slaytanicca has improved the roads leading from this town, and set up a few administrative offices as well as attempting to get the locals to elect a colonial governer. They have tried to be as reasonable as they can, and have shown the natives nothing but kindness. 750 infantrymen and 10 ST-21s reside here with a couple of Hellbolts, but no show of force has been made. Over ten million USD worth of aid has been distributed here alone.

5. Jungle city 1. Similar arrangements as 4, but with twice as many tanks. The Slaytaniccan compound is a little more secretive and better fortified, so the city doesn't become a staging point for an assault on 6.

6. Second Slaytaniccan military base. Similar to 2, although three times the size. The main seat of operations in Juristan, rather than glorified training camps as the other two. Also has a small runway, suitable for IL-76s: Five IL-76s, 5 MiG-29s and one IL-78 are currently here.
Built in an existing clearing with respect to the environment of Juristan.

7. Second Jungle City: Similar arrangments as 4.

8. Second "training" base, similar to 2. BUT IN THE JUNGLE :)

9. Jungle Training Ground. As 3, not much has been done here except nail up signs and arrange patrols. Used by soldiers in 8.

10. Third Jungle City: Similar arrangements as 4.

OOC:
Hope this is OK man. More stuff on the way, like callsigns and equipment of forces. If there's anything wrong, or if this isn't what you had in mind at all just shout and I'll change it happily.

Lachenburg, since your mountain territory is landlocked, for certain considerations such as a free trade zone and such, we would be willing to establish a rail and road connection between our new port city of Victoria and your territory. I suspect it would assist in moving heavier equipment and supplies to your troops.

Ivan Valovich
Minister of Foreign Affairs

Slaytanicca, the same offer applies to you. The Commonwealth would be willing to negotiate for the construction of a rail line from your territory to that of the port of Victoria.

Mr Valovich,

We are grateful for your offer, and believe this progression would benefit both our developments and the people of Juristan. We would be interested in knowing the predicted costs, and proposed tarrifs for both use of the ports and your rail infrastructure. Materials and funds are currently being put aside for a railroad through the desert should we come to an agreement. We hope we can come to agreement, and that this will herald a cooperation between our nations in the handling of affairs on this island.
A more important matter we believe is the matter of administration. The people in our territries wish to remain alliegant (sp?) to Juristan City, and we would be happy for our colonial administration to answer to the capital. We would of course like to keep autonomous power over our holdings in the region, which we will not be abusing. We believe we have already shown our repect of both the environment of Juristan and the wishes of it's people.

Many thanks,

Mr. Gorevomit,

The projected costs of the rail connection to your territory would be approximately seven million dollars. This includes the founding of the rails, laying them down, and appropriate cables and wires along the system. We anticipate that taxes on Juristanian businesses will more than makeup for the expenditure within a decade, and in accordance with that projection, we request that a free trade zone be established between at least our two territories. No tariffs on goods being exported, imported, or merely transported.

Per the matter of administration, while it may be tricky given the interests of our two states, the idea of linking the colonial administrations together is intriguing. Hopefully within the year my constituents will have elected their representative to the Commonwealth Parliament, at which time we can begin such negotiations in earnest. For now, however, I speak without authority and can only speculate on possibilities.

The Commonwealth means to maintain the Juristan Republic as a member of the Commonwealth, however, by our constitution it will not be allowed to negotiate with foreign governments or agents of foreign governments. As such, any framework would have to involve linking your colonial administration to the Juristan Republic with ultimate authority residing in the Commonwealth of Azazia. Of course, exemptions could be mandated by law and treaties safeguarding assets and civilians of Slaytanicca could be arranged. It will merely take time.

I would be most interested in hearing any detailed proposals you may have.

Due to your boarders in relation to the territory now held by Neo-Soviet Russia , we wish to contact each of you to the possibility of trade, connecting highways, railways, connections in communication, and other such links. We feel this would help the state of all those within each of our territories, our economies, and possibly help strengthen relationships between each of our nations. This would also aid Slaytanicca in the way of a link to the sea and possibly multiple links via us and other nations in due time. If any of you or all are interested, we would be willing to negotiate subjects such as trade costs, construction costs, ways to manage the crossing of inhabitants of our territories, and other such things. With that said, we await each of your replies.

Terror hit the small island today when aound 2,000 Protesters struck in the Southern Coast. The destroyed several buildings nd caused an uproar in the region. 42 People were Injured and another 167 Were killed in the small Riots. We hope the occupying nations can take control of the Rioters who have become found of calling themselves the True Juristanians.

Known facts about the Rioters were they were using 9 millimeter guns and revolvers. We do not believe this is a serious threat, but the Golencian Officials advise all nations to be aware.

Juristan City

Cahill glanced down at the report on his desk. He had been hearing of unrest throughout his new area of administration. Now, on the other side of the island riotings were taking place with limited property damange and even deaths. Granted, it wasn't much now, but it seemed as if this... resistance was on the upswing.

He looked through the document one last time, and found what he was looking for... True Juristanians... hmm...

Azazian Network News

JURISTAN CITY - Governor Cahill announced today that he was seeking talks with the leader of the group known as True Juristanians, a group that has killed over a hundred Juristanians and caused extensive damage to personal property in the south. Although the rioting occured outside of Commonwealth jurisdiction, sources have indicated that Cahill would like to discover how deep this sentiment runs throughout the nation.

"Roberto! These guys want to meet me! hahaha! You hear that!"

The men began to laugh.

"Its probally an attempt at my life. So i want you to send Jericoma. Make them believe he is the leader. Lets see what they have in mind."

Roberto whistled and two men went out of the room.

"You know Roberto, when this is over, we'll be back in Golencia. They'll see us as Heroes. They all will. We know the Emperor just wanted to test our loyalty. So prepare to make another hit. In the name of our true Emperor! Ruben Aragon I!"

Roberto nodded and left. The two men returned with Jericoma.

"Yes?"

"Jaricoma i want you to go to see these Azazians, make it look like your the leader. If anything happens to you, we'll get those bastards."

Cahill smiled broadly,"Welcome to the city of Juristan, Mr. Jeromica... I am sure you are quite familiar with the city, and I assure you outside of some improvements to the roads and highways it remains rather much the same."

He led the man to a conference room in the building, which still being under construction was littered with concrete dust, steel supports, and machine tools. "I apologize for the state of the building, however, I'm sure you understand that since we've arrived we've had little time to complete this office. Eventually it will serve as the new offices of the Juristan Republic, the communications suite here will be far more advanced than the equipment in the office now used. But I figured it best you see the future of this land."

Cahill motioned for Jericome to sit down across from him at the small ciruclar table. "I hope you don't mind that I dispense with normal diplomatic pleasantries, I have never excelled in their usage. But, I'm sure you know why you are here."

"The rioting that occured in the south a few days ago... this concerns me greatly. I assume that your group is in opposition to the transfer of authority from Golencia to the multi-nation coalition on the island. In light of these uprisings, however, your former government has urged us to caution. Why? Because they support the transfer of sovereignty."

"I understand your concerns regarding losing your traditional life styles, and your culture being destroyed, and while I can speak only for the Commonwealth, I can assure you that is not my nation's goal. We are aiming for what is now the Juristan Republic to be a highly successful member of the Commonwealth. What this means, the designation of Republic of the Commonwealth I mean, is that Juristan still has authority over all internal affairs. You will run your police, your bureaucracy, most of your transportation concerns, your Republic level taxes and economic policies. The Commonwealth will be in charge, however, of all foreign policy, defense, and Commonwealth economic matters. This allows your nation to not worry about maintaining the expensive modern army and modern national bureacracy, the Commonwealth will take care of that in exchange for the loyalty of the Republic and the annual taxes upon the citizens."

"That said, again, I do not speak for all the other nations on this island, but I was wondering if you could perhaps enlighten me to what your aims are. Perhaps we could even come to some agreement?"

We have given your proposal much thought, and have decided it is most beneficial to our administration of the Falasturian sector of this island. We are very willing to play our part in the plans for this island, and hope that these renovations may unite the sectors under our control as well as the sectors under the control of our fellow nations, and allow our communities to grow and work together for the common good.

OOC: Not that it matters that much, but the city of Levina is the most southern city on the map - the one closest to the border between my two territories (Southern coast and South-eastern ports). Almatia, as mentioned, is further to the west along the coast.

IC:

5th Army Force HQ, near Levina

Edwards felt like banging his head on the wall. Since he had been sent to the new Falasturian territories to exact military protection over the region and oversee shore assault training, he had been forced to endure problem after problem after problem. Having finally sorted fuel shortages, resolved issues over locations of units, rescued supplies that had been sent to a different continent and eventually seen the military encampments constructed weeks after they were supposed to have been erected, he was slowly getting used to the complaints over the heat and the lack of vaccinations, and smaller problems seemed to arise every hour. Surely nothing else could go wrong.

Looking up from his desk, which he was staring blankly at, wishing his forms would just go away, he saw the pristine uniform of Colonel Jeffers appear in front of him. Before he could speak, Jeffers snapped to attention, before beginning.

"General! News, from several of the units in and around the cities on the southern coast. There have been riots in the city of Almatia, on the South-western coast. Thousands involved, causing an as-yet unknown number of casualties. Many of them were armed. Some of our units arrived at them in time to break up the crowd with few casualties, but the damage was done. The riots have all been put down now, with almost one hundred arrested on charges of inciting rebellion and for assault."

"You’re kidding me! Tell me this is a cruel joke, Jeffers!"

"I wish I could, Sir" There was an awkward silence. Eventually, Edwards slammed his hand down on the table, feeling like he wanted to explode with fury. Finally composing himself, he turned back to the Colonel.

"Right. Do the locals have a police force?"

"They have a crude force, Sir. More of a vigilante militia, and they are ill-equipped and untrained."

"Forget them, then. We can train them up later. Have units sent into the cities and towns on active patrols. I want them in Company units, not any smaller unless they are in small towns. Have them prepared and ready in case they are shot at. But try to keep it friendly. We aren't going to cover this up, but we sure don't want to make it look like we're trying to rule with an iron fist to the locals. Some of them might be on our side, if we act friendly, so make sure the patrols act peaceful and don't bully anyone. I don't know why that riot started, but I suspect an unprovoked thing like that might happen again, and I want to do everything I can to dissuade it."

"Very good, Sir!" Jeffers turned on his heels, hurrying to get the orders out immediately. As soon as he was gone, Edwards looked back at his desk, and let his head drop to it, wondering when it had all started to go wrong for him.
