The IPO-35 Badger is Imperial Praetonian Ordinance's first step into the export market. In the Badger, IPO hopes to offer a unique vehicle of a type not offered too widely. The badger incorporates the stunning IPO 32mm cannon, adapted from naval use and capable of penetrating up to 105mm of RHA. This, combined with the weapons' rapid-fire capablility, allows it to take on most IFVs from the front, and MBTs from the sides and rear.

The vehicle is also armed with two machineguns, both of which can be controlled from insider the vehicle, which can be put to good use against infantry targets and soft-skinned vehicles. In addition to the aforementioned gun armament, the Badger is equipped with two launchers for the Praetonian-designed SMAT missile. This missile is internally guided and able to make use of the top-attack profile, allowing it to engage even the heaviest MBTs head-on. The missile can also be used to great affect in a standard profile against the side and rear, as well as the front of some less well armoured MBTs. The SMAT launchers can, like other missile launchers, only be reloaded from outside the vehicle, but the Badger still carries two sets of reloads internally. On the export version, the SMAT launchers can be replaced with American, European or Soviet patterns.

The Badger Light Scount Vehicle is superb for equipping a Territorial Army or National Guard type force, where the soldiers lack the training to operate a complex battletank, nor are they often given the funds to do so. The vehicle is also excellent for supporting an infantry attack and forming the forward scouting party for a divison or corps.

Cost to Build: $1,200,000
Cost to Buy: $1,500,000

SMAT-E Production Rights: $1,000,000,000

As it stands, the vehicles will take 5 years [5 real life days] to complete from time of confirmation.

Statement from the Ministry of Defense

"Results from our tests of the IPO-35 have come back, quite positively.

In field exercises, the Badger was highly effective in its role as a mobile reconnaisance platform. Fast, light and survivable, it succeeded admirably during these tests, especially in large, open areas and rough terrain which our in-service M998 HMMWVs could not effectively negotiate.

However, we do have a minor quibble with the LSV's armaments. While the SMAT and machine-gun mounts performed well, the 32mm auto-cannon caused the crews to experience massive recoil and shock, especially during sustained bursts of fire. Furthermore, the vehicle's poor turn radius severely hampered the IPO-35's effective use in urban operations.

Again, these flaws are insignificant, although further field testing will need to be completed before a larger order is made.

We wish to acquire fifty more IPO-35s, for use in division-level exercises."

Firstly, we thank Tyrandis for ordering a further fifty vehicles, why will be completed within 1.5 years. We hope that we see further custom from your military procurement department in future.

Secondly, we wish to touch on some of the problems which you have encountered concerning the Badger. We should state at this point that the Badger was neither designed for, nor expected to succeed in and urban combat role. Most MBTs experience high casualty rates against dug-in urban defenders equipped with even the most basic anti-tank weaponary, and so it is not suprising that a lightly armoured scout vehicle would not fare well. With regards to recoil issues with the 32mm cannon, our own military authorities are aware of this and steps are being taken to counter the problem. Your next 50 vehicles, along with all currently in production vehicles will be shipped with a new recoil-absorbtion system as well as a compact air-search radar system that will enable the vehicle to operate in an anti-helicopter role. The cost will be unaffected.

We hope that these vehicles perform admirably in your service and that you return to purchase more IPO products in future.

Our IPO-145 Hoplite MBTs are not currently on general release, but for Sarzonia we can make an exception. They will cost $9,000,000 per vehicle to export, and details are enclosed below.

The Liberal-Imperialist Party and Imperial Praetonian Ordinance wish you the best of luck in your future occupation, and look forward to getting to know your replacement in due course. We would also be happy to run a military exercise, perhaps including some experimental vehicles from IPO. Again, best of luck from us all.

Money has been wired. We are very pleased to hear that airborne deployment is possible. Many of our military operations hinge on Special Forces missions. If you were wondering why I asked for the ones without weapons It is because I have replaced them with the following weapons:

One 25mm Bushmaster Cannon [1x 142 round belt]
One coaxial 7.62mm Machinegun [20x 100 round belts]
One Detatchable Roof-Mounted .50 caliber Machinegun [2x 500 round boxes]
One Roof-Mounted TOW-2 Missile (Tube Launched, Optically Tracked, Wire Guided ) Launchers [3x TOW-2 missiles]
One Roof-Mounted FIM-92 Stinger Missile Launcher [4x Stinger missiles]
Four Turret Mounted Smoke Dischargers
This was needed to keep resupply from turning into a nightmare with all the different types of ammunition.

I had to install new targeting systems anyway so there was no problem with the stripped version you sold me :)

Of course I am not going to make any more than the 1,000 that we modifed nor am I going to sell them, but we thought you would like to know about our modified version, which I am calling the "M-35 Badger LSV" to fit with the rest of my military designations.

In our efforts to instigate massive reforms to our ground combat forces, the Incorporated Sarzonian Army would like to inquire regarding production rights for the IPO-35 Badger LSV and for the SMAT-E. We are aware of the SMAT-E's production rights cost of $1 billion, but we would like to find out the cost for the Badger itself.

Major General Wade tells me the Incorporated Ordnance Company is considering implementing a similar design, but has advised me that the IPO's vehicle would be an excellent choice should they decide not to implement a new design.

We hope to hear from you soon regarding this request.

Imperial Praetonian Ordinance - Three Orders Confirmed!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v387/Praetonia/IPBCBanner.png

"Moving on, the domestic arms super-giant confirmed three orders for the IPO-35 Badger Light Scout Vehicle, closing deals worth upwards of $1,845,000,000. The vehicle, which entered service with the Praetonian army several years ago, is a modern light scout vehicle capable of performing a wide variety of missions. It is highly valued by the Praetonian Territorial Guard, for which the Badger has become an iconic symbol.

"The deals themselves, which will secure 2,300 jobs at the Badger factory in Praextremis, involve the construction and transfer of 230 vehicles over 4 years to the governments of Harlesberg and Killaloe, as well as the transfer of schematics to the Incorporated States of Sarzonia for a preliminary figure of $1,500,000,000.

"A spokesman for Imperial Praetonian Ordinance said the company was delighted at securing the order, 'We've pinned our export hopes on the success of the Badger, and we've seen it really take off. The vehicle is now in service with 11 armies around the world, and orders don't seem to be reducing. We're hoping to open a further five IPO export factories around Praetonia over the next 5 years which will produce three new export tank, attack helicopter and river gun-boat designs.'"

Imperial Praetonian Ordinance - New Orders Coming In

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v387/Praetonia/IPBCBanner.png

"In the last 10 minutes we have received word that the Praextremis Badger plant has received orders for a further 500,000 units to be delivered over an as yet uncofirmed time period. Since the confirmation of the previous 3 Badger orders, world interest in the vehicle appears to have skyrocketted beyond anyone's wildest expectations. An IPO spokesman has made the following statement:

"'We are very pleased that interest in the vehicle has proved so widespread, and we are planning to construct another 3 plants constructing the Badger over the next year. Our engineers are still contemplating how to complete the order within a reasonable time-frame, but with some of the money up-front we dont think there will be any major problems. This is a great day for Imperial Praetonian Ordinance, as the profit made from the sale of Badger vehicles and the SMAT missile have pushed IPO well into the world Arms' Market.

80% of the profit has already been ear-marked for the new Hoplite II and Hoplite-E Main Battle Tanks, as well as the Agricola Attack Helicopter and the Cannonade Class River Monitor to be designed jointly with IPS. We hope that our next creations will be just as successful in securing more jobs for hard working Praetonians and more money to be ploughed back into the business.'

"The Government has also expressed its congratulations, and Cabinet has recommended to Imperator Sarius Publis I that the Director-General of Imperial Praetonian Ordinance, Mr Lucindus Gradius, be awarded a Knighthood. This latest deal is expected to create another 25,000 jobs at IPO and secure the positions at the original plant for years to come."

Subject: Badger LSV

Since we are a new nation, our government has expressed an interest in developing a military that, while it may not be large, will be capably run and professionally organised. To do that, we have determined a need to purchase the best weapons we can to equip our military forces since we have limited national resources.

As a result, our government expresses a great interest in your Badger LSV. We believe that it would allow us to equip our military with one of the finest vehicles in the NS world and we hope to be able to acquire 100 of them. Since our budget is fairly limited as a small country with a developing economy, we would like to propose a payment plan whereby we can pay the amount we incur over the course of three NS years. We would be willing to make whatever interest payments are necessary to ensure the purchase of these vehicles.

We thank your great company for considering our custom.
