We see you need professors.......we have a professor, Walter Bennett, from the Kleiner Polytechnic University that just retired. He is an experienced physics, earth science, and forensics teacher, and is certified to work around research reactors and handle biological material.

Will he be useful? If you need any more data, just ask.

I wish to enroll a single student, my son Darius Jaques III in your Business Management course as we are looking to start a state controlled arms company and we need a CEO with the know-how to run the company in the modern world. I ask, how much is the cost of this university per term?

Walter Bennett saw the acceptance letter from the Burnsian International University, and went, "My goodness! I'm in! I could use the pay.....ever since I retired I've been bored silly."

He packed his suitcase, and called his travel agent. "Hello!? One one-way ticket to The Burnsian Desert, please. I have a job!!!!"

Several hours later, Mr. Bennett was on a Xenizen National Airways jet, business-class, sandwiched between a rude passenger who wouldn't stop talking, and a mother with a whiny kid who wouldn't shut up, either, running low on batteries for his laptop.

"I'm gonna be glad I came......" he thought. "Now, to survive this plane trip!"

A smiling young receptionist greeted Prof. Kleiner and told him to sit down over by the potted plant. "Mr. Bucharist won't be long, he's meeting with a student."

After about a five minute wait, a young man in a suit with slicked-back hair emerged from the office, and with a quick "Thank you!" walked across the room to the parking lot. After him came Dean Bucharist, a slightly portly man in his mid-forties. Looking around for a moment, his eyes fell upon the professor. Smiling, he walked over and briskly shook the man's hand.

"Well hello there! You must be Professor Kleiner. I'm Dean Bucharist, the dean for the entire campus here. How was your flight over?"

Darius Jaques III drove to the Dopko International Airport in his Ford '66 Mustang. He knew that it would be his last ride for a while. He parked outside the building and waited for his father and mother to show up. They were coming to wish him well and drive his car back to the palace. He saw the bright red paint of his fathers 2005 Nissan Z-350 and sighed. Although he and his father were best friends, cars had been the one thing they had never agreed on. His father and king liked new luxury cars, while Darius the third liked the old, powerful type. He watched his parents get out and waved hello. His mother walked up and gave him a giant hug.

"Oh Dari, I'm going to miss you so much!" she sobbed.
"Yeah mom, I'll miss you too" said Darius as he eased out of the embrace. He turned to his father. "Well, by dad. And don't let the country fall to peices without me around to hold it together." he said jokingly.
"I think I can handle it. Anyways, we'll get your car home, you better hurry. You don't want to miss your flight."
"Right. By, I'll call soon." and with that, he walked towards his terminal for his eight hour trip to the campus of his new collage.

Mathias and Jaron walked into the sunlight out of the airport, and hailed a taxi.

"Can you take us to the Universiy? Thanks," Mathias asked. He turned to Jaron. The wo had been best friends growing up, and were both bright young men. Mathias was a little more studious and would probably graduate higher in the class, but Jaron was more sociable and more likely to make friend while at school.

"This is cool," he said.

"Hell yeah," responded his friend.

As they got out of the taxi at the Univeristy campus, they realized they didn't know where the Dean's office was.

"Crap," muttered Mathias, hoping a friendly student would see the confused foreigners and help them out. He turned when he heard a familiar voice.

"Mathias! Jaron! over here!" It was Dr. Barlow, a family friend of Mathias who was coming here to teach. He was standing with two other men.

"Lost? Come with us. We're on our way to see the Dean ourselves."

IC:

Dear sirs:

As the king of Mauiwowee, I view with incredible interest and hope the launch of an International Univeristy. With that in mind, I, through my royal treasury, am willing to donate the sum of One Billion U.S. dollars ($1,000,000,000.00) to your institution upon the following conditions:

1. One Hundred Million ($100,000,000.00) will be used to found and create the "Narcosis School of Law."

2. One Hundred Million ($100,000,000.00) will be used to establish scholarships to the "Narcosis School of Law" for deserving students, regardless of race, nationality, sex. religion, ethnicity, etc.

3. A minimum of twenty-five (25) students from Mauiwowee per year will be admitted to your undergraduate programs (whether they succeed or not shall be up to your professors, admission will not guarantee graduation or success).

4. The newly established School of Law will not admit anyone who doesn't have a 4 year degree "under their belt" already.

5. In the event of a "tie" between applicants for admission to the "Narcosis School of Law," potential students from Mauiwowee will be granted a preferrence.

6. Fifty Million Dollars ($50,000,000.00) shall be used exclusively to provide scholarships to deserving Mauiwoweean female students in the Narcosis School of Law.

7. One-Hundred-Fifty Million ($150,000,000.00) shall be used to build the most complete law library the world has ever seen.

8. The Narcosis School of Law shall include, as a component of it's instruction, the idea that Freedom of Speech, Religion, The Press, The Right to Posesses Weapons reasonably suited for personal self-defense, Due-Process of Law, Equal Protection of the Law and freeedom from Ex-Post-Facto laws and Double Jeopardy are the hallmarks of a civilized society.

9. No matter what the circumstance, 3 Mauiwoweean students per year shall be admitted to the Narcosis School of Law (again, whether they make it to graduation shall be a factor of their performance in school and the reasoned evaluation of their law school professors).

The remaining funds shall be used as your school deems to be necessary. If these terms are acceptable, please inform us and we shall immediately release the money to your institution.

Sincerely,
His Royal Highness,
King 'Lude Valeeum Narcosis II,

Timothy Carter sighed as he rode along the road in the back of the cab, doing his best to listen as the cabby described the sights of the city to him. He found his mind drifting toward the denizens of the city around him. Someone could be lurking in that alley there, that man walking along the sidewalk could be looking to pick the pocket of someone. Tim snapped out of his reverie as the cab came to a halt outside the school. Am I really there?

He shrugged and stepped out.

“That will be twenty burned notes,” the cabby told him.

Timothy smiled, and handed him the money, then flipped him a twenty Thaler gold piece as tip. He winked at the cabby, then grabbed his pair of bulky suitcases out of the trunk.

As the taxicab rolled off, Timothy looked at the campus and wondered where to go next.

Salius Zavado got out of his car and walked to the Administration Building. Nice place he thought. Professor Zavado was a well built man, in his mid thirties, and was a sharp as a tack. He had come to this university to teach the students about Albinoism. Zavado was athiest, which was the reason that the Education Council sent him here. They believed that the students should be tought about Albinoism, and make up there mind as to what religion they liked. Also the Education Council didn't want any trouble from the parents. Professor Zavado walked into the Administration Building and started to look for the dean. Lest hope he likes me.

Johan Wald, the Taldaani Minister of Science and Research, looked down at Cios.
"Well, it appears that you have been accepted into the Burnsian International University. Congratulations. We're going to fly you over in a Government aircraft and drop you at the nearest airport. We'll be paying your tuition as well, you're a Government scientist after all."
Cios smiled at the Minister, his blue eyes twinkling.
"Thank you, Minister. It is truly an honour to be chosen."
"Enough of the speech alrready, Cios. I hope you've packed."
"Yes Sir."
"Then get to the airport. There'll be a Beechcraft U-8 waiting for you there, with Government markings."

An hour later, Cios was in the small aeroplane, buckling his seatbelt. Then it was rolling up the runway, gathering speed.....
And then it was in the air. Cios, who had never travelled by plane before, gasped as he saw the ground slide away from him. Then he sat back into his seat and smiled as the aeroplane wheeled away towards the west.

In reflection, Cios decided that it was a very good idea that Government planes had DVD players. The flight had lasted around twelve hours, most of it over flat ocean. But now, he was in TBD. He handed the taxi driver his pay, and hurried towards the University. It was early evening, and he needed to get there quickly to let them know he was there. He walked onto the campus feeling nervous.

An Xia liked the desert temperatures, it suited his cold blooded body perfectly, but the penthouse of course.... well, that needed some changing... First thing's first, shut off the air conditioning. Then bring in the sprinklers and the native plants that generated alot more spare oxygen and created more heat. And maybe a few small animals.... Ah, better, now to redo the penthouse so that the water wouldn't damage anything and the animals wouldn't cause anyone to stay up late, and maybe a few solar cells on the roof, to make it more environmentally friendly....

Meanwhile, Robert, always someone to take the initiative, decided to find Dean Bucharist. When the Dean was passing by the tree he was in, he silently leapt out of it and walked up beside him.

Princess Bente had taken the bus (OOC: I'm assuming you have buses, otherwise I'll change it to a cab) from the airport to the University. When she got off, she entered into what seemed to be a blast furnace to her ice-accustomed body. She took off the navy trenchcoat she always wore and stuffed it into her backpack after taking out her dark purple sunglasses to shield her sensitive eyes. She'd have to get some lighter clothes, as her customary black and blue absorbed too much heat. She had smartly worn a tank top under the coat, and one could plainly see now that she had a few tattoos on her shoulders and arms, one the royal coat of arms. A couple passers-by turned their heads, as she had always been pretty, and she was unusual to those on the street. A slight breeze rustled her incredibly long and dark reddish brown hair. She walked briskly, her boots (which she had kept after her military service as nearly everyone did) clicked slightly on the sidewalk.

She walked through the campus, sometimes pausing to look at the architecture of the buildings, or the landscaping. She was not concerned about getting lost, she had a map of the place in her pocket. The only reason the walk tired her was the heat, which she supposed she would get used to. Her rolling suitcase made a slight clickity-clackity noise as she pulled it across the pavement. Before long, she came across the entrance of what appeared to be Dorm 1. Bente checked her map again and went in.

Bente made a little waving gesture to indicate that it was nothing. "No harm done," she said pleasantly, her strange accent coming through fairly strong. She then made her way to suite 101 and unpacked her things. She tacked a few posters onto the wall and stocked the tiny bookshelf on one side of her bed. Lastly, she took out the little iron candleholder/altar that she used to pray to the gods and put it near her bed.

Noticing the table and the various connections for cords under it, Bente went out to buy a computer. On her way, she saw Darius running. Bente smiled and said "hello."

IC: "Yeah, OK. Sounds like fun."

OOC: Sue me, I've got two deaths and around forty threads to juggle...

IC:
