Crisis in Artitsa? Foreign Debacle!
Arklow (AP)
In a speech last week, Vladimir Overdanski revealed that Artitsa had indeed been responsible for the Carpet Nuking of the Feazanthia Nation. He expressed his extreme apologies, but the Artitsan Duma decided it would be best if he stepped down. Every member of the Duma demanded his resignation, which was later given almost 48 hours later. Boris O'Connor, Artitsa's Foreign Minister, has been named current President while steps are taken to create an election for a new President. The Duma and O'Connor have agreed mutually to a $11.6 Trillion reperation to Feazanthia to be paid in 3 year increments of $3.86 Trillion. Further more, Artitsa will provide food and other necesseties should Feazanthia require it. A formal apology has been issued to the Government and People of Feazanthia, but it is felt throughout Artitsa that the apology does not convey the shame they have in their government for such a henious act.
Late thursday night, the Duma revealed that it had information that a General in the Artitsan National Forces had been selling high tech weapons to terrorists and freedom fighters. This has been further chaulked upto Mr. Overdanski's rein in the Presidential Office. In accordance with international and Artitsan law, a court date has been set for their trials. The General will remain nameless at this point in time. Overdanski faces charges like Genocide, Crimes against Humanity, and attempt to create war. The General faces the charge of Aiding and albeiting Terrorists. Both face the death penalty.
This recent crackdown came on the public outcry of a mass protest by over 390 Million Artitsans nationwide. Extreme disdain for Vladimir Overdanski is widespread and authorities fear for his protection.
Boris O'Connor is now restructering Artitsan Foreign Policy with these recent events, cutting ties to whomever he believes to have had a connection with the carpet nuking of Feazanthia. Only a certain few allies will remain close, such as New Empire, Adejaani, and the Freethinker Corporation. It is obvious to O'Connor and the citizens of Artitsa that life will never be the same again after this incident. There is now a massive stain on the honour of Artitsa and her people. It is widely believed that the initial attack was prompted by governments close to Artitsa, perhaps even by Iron Blood, one of Artitsa's closest allies before Artitsa had severed connections years ago.
Up for candiacy are two men and a woman, Boris O'Connor, Dimitri Milosvaji, and Elaine Vilosovic. More information about the three canditates will be released later, but the election is to be considered extremely close.
The Children of Artitsa have written their own sorry notes to their Feazanthia counterparts, and the parents of the young ones donating gifts for those that might not be fortunate enough for gifts. People in Artitsa are willing to help, and want to, but they are unable to express this.
"I just feel terrible. The government did this right under our noses to these poor people! I want to do something, but what can I do? Pity is not what they need. They need help. But how do you give help without pity?"
Diane Flanagen, Citizen of Galway, Artitsa.
