Planetfall! (FT with one of any other T)

OOC: I was wondering if people would like to do a "Planetfall" RP. Basicly, a ship from each of the selected governments will have crash-landed on a planet, and they need to work together to survive.

This means that there will be little fleet-fighting, but there might be fighting among the survivors...

Anyone interested?

EDIT: In other words, it is similar to the movie Enemy Mine.

Let me bump this and make it more clear:

This will all be taking place on a delsolate planet. A few nations who haven't interacted with each other should participate. Each of the nations has a soldier, civilian, or other position (or two) and they all need to interact with the other nations to survive. When doing this, they learn about a nation's dispositions, their governments, and need to face their basic fears and emotions.

I'm just asking for a few nations to start.

Jeese! Didn't any of you see Enemy Mine (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089092/) !? It was during the 80s?

The Ralish

Well, I've never seen the Enemy Mine, or even heard of it, but the idea is not unappealing.
The Ralish was originally played as a bronze-age civilisation, but got little to no interaction from the wider community in that respect, so I've been making tentative steps... four or five thousand years into the future to the beginning of the space age.
I'm pretty much clueless about future tech RP, but if anyone cares, some background was recently set-up, here http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=375067

The Ralish Empire is also stuck in the feudal age and has a slave economy that flourishes in isolation on the planet Aisa, "somewhere". The people are human, but exactly how they ended up on this distant planet is yet a mystery. They believe themselves unique, as they can see evolution in fossil records for all life forms around them, but human remains on their world begin suddenly a few thousand years ago. To them it seems hard to deny that the universe was prepared for them by gods, and their race placed on Aisa when all was ready.

They are just beginning to reach out to the stars, curious as to why other worlds even exist, since they are unique in the universe.

Long story short, I'm interested, but new to space tech.
I'm familiar with the Stargate series (and film), if that matters, but not exactly intimately so (I just thought that the unas ( ? ) were cool).
I may get left behind if the thread really takes off, as I tend to get distracted and wander off for days on end. Ahem.

Anyway, it would be perfectly believable for a Ralish ship to crash, because frankly it's a miracle we even get them into space to begin with.

Fine, let me start it off. Any nation can join in. Remember, there can only be one or two survivors:

Shaq'Ran knew he was dead.

"Kree, Terok!" Shaq'Ran yelled to the Jaffa sittling behind him, "What can we do!?" They were in a Deathglider, a sleak, powerful fighter. But now, it might as well have been tinfoil. They were plummiting to an unkown planet's surface below. If they didn't do something soon, they would "skip" off of the atmosphere...or be destroyed upon impact.
"I know not, Shaq'Ran!" Terok screamed, wrestling with the controls of the glider, "We are going in too fast!"
"What happened!?" Shaq'Ran said, checking if there was any power at all. There was. It was at full power.
"Some kind of magic pulled us down! I don't know how!" Terok said as the Deathglider began to shake violently, "I just lost control of the Deathglider! We just got pulled down."
"What are we to do!?" Shaq'Ran shouted, terror in his eyes, "Will Apophis save us!?"
"Yes, Apophis will save us!" Terok said, still struggling to get some control over the ship. The ship was ignoring his commands entirely, though all systems were normal. "But right now, we cannot rely on Apophis for help! He might deem us unworthy if we simply die! We will never get eternal live, and will be damned without his salvation!"
"Praise be to Apophis," he added, hoping that Apophis would hear his cry.
"Terok! We are reaching the atmosphere!"
They could both see it. Their ship was turning bright red entering the atmosphere. The Deathglider could take it...if they slowed down. But they were plummiting at intense speeds. In any normal cockpit, the G-force alone would knock out the piolets. Fortunately, Death Gliders had inertial dampeners: which allowed them to stay awake.
"TEROK!! WHAT ARE WE GOING TO D-"
"SHEL KREE, JAFFA!!!" Terok barked, not out of annoyance but out of fear.

He had no control. They were going to die.

They were jerked suddenly. The Deathglider had speed down. It was passing through the atmosphere at very slow speeds.
"Terok?" Shaq'Ran said, watching the various clouds go past, "What just happened?"
"I don't know," Terok said, breathing a sigh of relief, "Apophis must have heard my prayer. We are s-"

They were past the atmosphere, and now their descent began again - faster than before. Too fast for even the inertial dampeners to take effect. Terok could feel himself loosing focus...blacking out...

All went dark.

Terok had a strange dream. Less of a dream, and more like...flashes. Images. A Temple with long vines...a groved forest with red trees...green eyes looking from behind a veil around a human figure...his wife, Neith! But...she looked different. Her eyes were green and...crying!? But why-hai-

The world spun around again, and Terok awoke in pain.

Burning.

Fire.

FIRE!!! GET OUT FIRE!!!

"NANE!! NANE!!!" Terok shouted, feeling the fire licking his limbs. He jumped up and ran away, his feet touching cool, dewey grass. He paused for a moment, and looked beneath him.

...

...He was on the planet! But how! Why!?

He looked behind him, to see where the fire had come from. His Deathglider had smashed into a cliff wall. It had fallen at least 50 meters. The front was smashed, and looked like a crushed balloon.
A thought suddenly crossed his mind:
"Shaq'Ran!" he thought, running to the wreckage, trying to spot his comrade. He found him within a few seconds: his arm was half-off, hanging by an inch of skin and flesh from a small crack in the front end of the wreckage. No symbiote could cure that.

"Shaq'Ran!" Terok shouted, "Shaq'Ran! SHAQ'RAN!!!"

But no response came. And Terok, one who had seen 50 years of battle and bloodshed, colapsed to the ground, crying like a small child.

OOC: See, this is what I mean. We have a premise here. Something pulled the Deathglider down onto this planet, and now Terok must survive. If any other ships pass near the planet (hint-hint, wink-wink), then similar situations might happen to them. Whatever, or whoever, did this wants at least one person alive. That is certain. Otherwise, they would have died in the atmosphere.

I await your response.

OOC great idea, YAY, first time I get to have interaction with the Castes

IC The Fire warrior Keil'hath Sat on the deck of the ship, deep in medatation. The Air Caste Piolit was cheaking the conrtols, his 4 wings working like arms. The Earth Caste travelers sat on the deck, straped in, looking around with wild eyes. It had been three days since they had left the safty of the Empires borders, and now they headed towards a new location, to set up a new city. The Transport went past one of the system they passed through's planets, thats when things went wrong.

The ship buckled, used to heavy gravity, it was able to almost pull through, however, it was brought down by the second bump. Keil immidiatly ran to the back of the craft, yelling to the earth caste to do the same. They failed to listen, and he was forced to grab the nearest one and pull him into the drop pods. He released the latch, and the pod droped, heading towards the planet's surface. THe pod jumped, and from the windows Keil saw the Transport start to burn up. He sighed, at least he had jetasended the Drop pod, there would be the emergency supplies, as well as weapons, tents, and a few other things. He was considering this when the pod landed in the ground with a thud. When the door droped, he ran around to the one he had placed the Earth one, supprised to see it was already emting the pod.

"Well," He said with a no nonsense expresion. "Are you gong to help or not?"
With that, the two started to set up camp.

A feint murmur seeped from Umbrahim’s dry lips as he floated transfixed by what he was sure was a structural crack. He’d been sure for the past six days, sure it was growing. It measured the same now as it had then, and was an abrasion on nothing more than the vessel’s internal facade. But Umbrahim Adenite Persassus was barely sane, his mind faring little better than his wasted body after so, so long on duty in his zero gravity solitude. His two crewmates slumbered in their capsules, quite unaware of Umbrahim’s trials.

Giant refrigerator... doors are closed and the light’s still on... why is that? What do I need light for... to the lighting rig, men! But he hardly twister around far enough to grab something solid before warning buzzers reminded the traveller that he was not the only source of sound in the universe.

The primitive hulk of a so-called deep-space exploratory ship was caught in the grip of some external force for which it, like its sole conscious crewmember, was quite unprepared. It was with some surprise that Perassus realised his proximity to a planetary body, gods, he must have really been losing it to confuse weeks for what must have been months since he last spoke to another human being. He’d travelled millions of kilometres further than he’d assumed himself to be, and there was no time to consider that fact, the ship was bound for atmosphere and there was no way it’d survive that. The thing barely held together in space.

As the planet ate up a bigger and bigger share of the view once dominated by the void of space, the tired and previously untested ship began to suffer. It was about the best that the Eternal Alshorian Empire had assembled, and the same was true of its three-man crew despite Umbrahim’s lapse.

The fatigued adventurer, guilty of a serious lapse in losing sense of proportion and time and failing to wake a comrade to take-over his watch last month, took-in the sight of the planet below, the whistling of venting atmosphere, and the thought of the hibernation capsules. He couldn’t fix this alone, and time was painfully short after so long suffering inactivity and isolation.

A few hours later, Onil Tkhalo Awar forced open the cover of his charred and dented chrysalis. The transformation was not his but the outside’s as he perceived no t the inside of the deep space exploratory vessel nor the face of his colleague come to wake him, but... sky... outdoors... a completely unfamiliar place. Half a mile away, a second pod containing the still-sleeping third crewmember was lodged between rocks and in a terrible condition.

Needless to say, Onil was deeply confused and more alone than Umbrahim had felt when he ejected the pods containing his friends and made a last, fruitless effort to reverse the ship’s fatal descent.

A heavily battle-damaged Shadow battlecrab phased into existance over the planet... it's proud form scarred and gouged by the weapons of it's adversaries... it still however espoused terror in those who saw it despite it's bad condition, it was still a schion of the darkness that was returning to the galaxy after a million years...

It left a black trail in the sky of the world it made a slightly uncontrolled descent passing over the crash sites of several other ships... and gouged a huge path in the undergrowth beyond... black limbs being severed and tossed to the sky... it finally came to rest in a clearing a few hundred metres from whence it had hit the earth... it was a scene of terrible destruction... it seemed nobody could have survived that kind of crash... but the centralised processor of the vessel and her cargo had...

In space, there is no air. In space, it's extremely cold.

In space, noone can hear your fusion core go critical and put you in a frenzied planet fall.

But to Rennon Carde, it felt like a murderously hard body blow had been delivered to him via every nerve bundle in his body. The Providence was doomed, was his first coherent thought. Already, ADA was ordering all capable personnel to the escape pods.

Rennon's DNI was already dispensing a diagnostic report to his beleaguered brain.

The Engineering section and Fusion Cluster were gone. Habitat sections were compromised. Hull breaches on Bridge, Observation deck, and Sensor management.

The forward section was slowly diving into the atmosphere. There was nothing else he could do.

He fought the Gravitic generators and the Planet's pull, and climbed into the escape pod. The rumble and groan of the entire structure warned him the ship would disintegrate within minutes. Already his DNI was screaming that the temperature would be too much for Emergency Launch if he didn't leave.

Noone else came out. He offered a final prayer to Allah and pulled the ELL.

The Escape pod tore free from Providence's scarlet bulk, and its on board AI frantically searched for a safe landing zone.

Rennon, clawed at by gravity, friction, and the general buffeting one should expect from high speed planetfall, passed out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

With a final, shuddering boom, the pod came to a rest upon the forest floor, reverse thrust rockets still boiling away. All was quiet, save the occassional crackle of burnt plant matter.

The survivor crept out, and looked at his saviour. The escape pod's rough landing was now fully evident. Upside down, the pod's rugged and resilient hide had prevented any severe damage, and the inertial dampener fields had saved the luckless man from death. Thankful to Allah, Rennon ducked back inside the pod, and retrieved the survival kits. This included a fully loaded EMRP (Electro Magnetic Rail Projection) Rifle (With Armscomp) and several magazines of projectiles, a Warlock Utility and Combat Blade, a medikit, (Complete with nanorepair systems, several hyposprays, and certain other futuristic medical marvels) and survival supplies to last an entire week.

The man sagged with relief, and then uplinked to his personal DNI. The Providence had managed to send a distress signal, so most likely the Nightingale Rescue Fleet had been notified.

It would take days for them to reach this world, however, by his DNI's calculations. The Escape Pod would emit a homing signal once the fleet was in range.

He sighed with relief and shucked the PodPack onto his back, before checking for any other survivors.
His DNI reported trace signals from other Pods, however they were garbled and did not match any signals the Providence had supplied for its Pods.
He shrugged and considered it to be damage to the other Pods.
The nearest Pod is four Kilometres south of your current position. Please proceed with caution. Advised his DNI, before closing down.

OOC: This is great. I think we can fit in one more guy, so...

WE CAN ONLY HAVE ONE MORE NATION ENTER THIS!!

Not to make people feel bad, but if this gets too big then it won't be easy to do.

IC:

Terok took account of what meager posessions he had recovered from his Deathglider: A single staff weapon, two Zat'Ni'Katels, and three Goa'uld Grenades.

That was it. No water, no food, not even a long-range comunicator.

Terok looked up from the Deathglider and viewed the scene around him. He had crashed into a giant field, a giant cliff-face abutting the field to the north. From what he could tell, the Deathglider had crashed into the cliff-face and falen about 50 meters below. On the East, West, and South side, there was nothing but thick, leafy forest. He could see far into the distance, purple mountains were looming above the horizon. Terok deduced he was inside the edge of a valey.

"Apophis, guide me." Terok said, holding his hands in a small prayer to his God.

One thought crossed his mind: he needed food, and he needed water. He did not need to perform Kelnorim, for while he was knocked out his symbiote must have been healing his wounds.

Terok stood still for a moment, remembering his childhood on Chulak. Rememberd how he and the children played a game called "Bait." One child would hide, while the others would try to find them. He always won, for Terok would hide near the riverside and the other children could never hear him up in the trees.

Terok listened intently now, trying to hear a stream. Trying to hear if there was any water. For where there was water, there was food. Where there was food, there was survival.

Terok heard something, but it wasn't water. It was a deep rumbling sound, coming from above.

Looking up, he saw a fireball errupting in the sky. From the fireball, three smaller balls of fire exploded outwards, falling at a faster speed straight into the forest to the south. The larger ball of fire exploded a few seconds later, causing the whole valey to be outlined in red for a few seconds.

Then there was silence.

"Well, those were obviously escape pods." Terok said aloud to himself, "looks like I might have found food and supplies."

Terok sneared as he ran into the forest to the South, his staff in hand.

The Firelance was slowely making its way towards the planet, its sensors sweeping the area, whilst it was hidden in its cloak.

"Sir, nothing to report, there are some recent ion trails in the area, but they seem to have dissapated near the planet."

"Good, bring us out of cloak." the captain said, and the Firelance slid out of the folds between the 3rd and 4th dimension. The temporal Cloak, as it was called.

"Ship has reentered normal space."

"Good, now, make orbit around the planet, and begin active scans, I am curious as to whats down there." he said, before the ship gave an almighty lurch. Klaxons sounded, and lights flashed as the ship was magically, almost impossibly pulled towards the surface.

"Sir, whats going on?"

"All hands, Brace for impact."

She looked around a few times and promptly spoke to the ship in an usual foreign tongue... the ship responded in the same tongue...

Send a distress call, Tacheyon enhanced towards Shadow space... we are not too far out I hope...

Ship:

Yes, mistress it is done. We are 402 light years outside Shadow Space beyond our proposed borders. I will inform you when one of my kin or The Eye responds to our call.

Woman:

Thank you, Frida. How much in the way of supplies do we have?

Frida(Ship):

I can provide you with sustance for 7 years, Mistress...

Woman:

No, I meant anything tasty...

Frida(Ship):

Yes, Mistress. I can procure you food by use of my tractor beams and low level weapons, stocks of food you brought back will last you approxmiately 3 months.

Woman:

Thank you, do you detect any sentient life in the area?

Frida(Ship):

Yes, Mistress. Several beings several of different races, we have Goa'uld and Chronosians. The others are not in my files... you would have to access the Talon's files for their information.

Woman:

Chronosians... those pathetic pretenders to the throne of Chaos... they are slaves to it... we are the masters of Chaos... not it's slaves... but they are allies. The Goa'uld however we may have to eliminate our files about them are extensive, they technology itself is standardised and in many ways primitive militarily so we shouldn't have a problem with them. But their symbioates may get involved and we can't have that...

The woman looked around her... it was a forest, a dense one at that... the hole they had gouged in it was enormous. A testiment to the size of the Battlecrab and as she knew the Shadows were constructed much larger weapons of war... she took out a pistol from her clothes and attached a small purpose built crossbow to her arm... she promptly loaded the later with a clip of five bolts all poisoned. Nobody would find the secrets of the Shadows...

So others HAD been here. He chuckled lightly, and moved forward; just as the metal ground gave way below him, and with a roar and a grunt; he plunged into the darkness of ancient industry...

Rennon stopped, and crouched. Something was following him. He could hear it over his audio inputs.

Heavy set bootfalls. Most likely a Chaos Marine or Uruk Hai. Chirped the DNI again.

Sometimes the helpful little AI seemed too happy to report what could easily be his doom.

He swung the rifle about and linked up to its sophisticated armscomp, searching for for a target.

'Bloody Hell, why couldn't Targe be here?' He mumbled, remembering the female security officer's blaze and gung ho attitude. She'd be telling him to ease back and keep moving, away from the sounds, without alerting them to his position.

The Uruk looked up and then looked about him; sunlight filtering down the shaft that he now found himself in, illuminating hard and ancient geometric patterns; walls of sharp edges and linear thought. He looked about him; eyes alighting at the sight of a door; and thursting his hands forward; straining the ancient hinges as they buckled under his might. A low growl filled the dark chamber and he pushed onwards....Somewhere beneath the cold earth; he would find a way to light this labyrinth...And escape its myriad depths

He began to shift, one step at a time, towards the ridge. Anyway out of here would be welcome.

Uruk Hai will track you no matter where you attempt to hide. Advised the DNI.

'I'm a GI, we don't have a scent, DNI!' He hissed, now moving like a shadow towards the ridgetop, gun ahead, eyes scanning in multiple spectrums. His body made barely a track upon the soil.

There's something else out there. Something larger than the Providence and emitting a low resonance pulse. Some kind of communications field. Reported the DNI, a hint of caution bleeding into his voice.

The Uruk battered through the corridors wildly; searching for soem form of power supply and the means to activate it; while high above, the Marine stood at the edge of the gaping hole in the ground and looked down.
The Foolish Uruk had gotten himself trapped; yet these ruins were peculiar.
he knelt, looking down into the deep blackness, almost smiling as he did.
Perhaps being stuck here would yield some good after all. He thought, a chuckle emanating from his dark armor as he did.

There is an eruption from nowhere in space... Energies surge as a massive wormhole apature opens... Seconds later, a massive 1.6km long, dark grey vessel emerges from the apature... Battle damage can be seen down the sides of its hull, plasma leaking from some places where power distrobution conduits have ruptured... The large vessel, heading straight into the planet seems oblivious at first... The wormhole behind it slams shut, and all readings of it vanish as the vessel begins to plumet into the planets atmosphere.... Then activity appears, thrusters attempting to change its descent angle... not to much avail however... The atmosphere rushing past the ship, and the intense heat begins to tear large sections of armor plating from the ship... A port pylon, appearantly housing some type of landing and launch bay, tears from it's supports; bodies can be seen sucked out into the thin atmosphere, and being torn apart... The vessel rolls slowly, as more control is lost; thrusters failing left and right... The vessel, it's outter haul almost white hot at this point, can be seen for miles streaking through the atmosphere... The roll manages to level the ship out close to impact... The massive haul digging into the ground, large sections of the ship tearing off.... The aft 1/4 of the vessel rips off, and explodes, generating a massive mushroom cloud, as the rest continues to gouge through hundreds of miles of dirt and rock, leaving a massive valluy behind it.... Moments later it comes to a halt. It's forward section "nosed up" at a slight angle, with a mound of dirt and rock below it, and a long line of destruction in its wake... Trees uprooted, large rocks over turned....

About an hour later, two men, helping a third emerge from the starboard pylon... the wounded one, being helped, coughing up blood... They all fall together when out on the surface... In their mind thinking, "What are we going to do now...."

"D'tok, Drakk nen yeut urs...." he chanted, his voice carried on the wind in the black words of prayers to Chaos.
The Eight POinted Star upon his armor spoke true; here was a warrior of Chaos...a Servant to the TRUE master of Chaos. De Drakan and his Primarch brood....

NEW CONTACT! Large collision bearing South West!

Rennon didn't even need the DNI to tell him. The impact was spectacular, even from the ridge. He didn't even contemplate staying and going East. He began to move towards this new disturbance without regard fro the danger he'd just evaded.

'DNI, break down the low resonance pulse. I want to know exactly what that was.' He snapped, urging his body faster.

"Sir" he says...

The injured man looks up, blue blood dribbling from the corner of his mouth, and down his power-blue cheek..."Y-y-yes Master Chief...."

"The Tiamat is a wreck... I'd recommend looking at trying to salvage what we can to survive..." says Master Chief Veen, "You are in command, sir..."

Lieutenant Commander Pendleton, looks back at the Master Chief... "Admiral Plestus?"

"Dead sir," says Master Chief Veen, "I found him impailed on the command stack... It is just you, Lieutenant Moore, and I."

Looking over at the Lieutenant, LCDR Pendleton says, "Mr. Moore, you and Master Chief Veen, look around the landing bay, get some food supplied and survival gear, and then see about scavenging some equipment from one of the Wasps, if you can find one at least somewhat intact..."

It took him well over an hour and a considerable amount of effort later, Rennon found himself looking up at a simply gigantic pylon, jutting out of te landscape like some incredible spire. It was segmented, and the gigantic motors that had once posed the pylon about the central hub were damaged and fractured.

Detecting three survivors, one is outside, and the other two are within, no doubt searching for supplies. His DNI reported.

'...' The GI deactivated his rifle and slid down towards the pylon.

'Hello?' He yelled, his amplified voice booming into the crater.

'I come in peace!' He surmised that considering his massive outlandish voice, he may have just scared the survivors off.

Detecting an energy surge from the East. It's definitely a hostile energy weapon of some sort.

'What?!'

Don't worry. It's a deterrent. I've flagged the area as dangerous. It's probably some kind of warship that detected your presence.

'And most likely yours, too.' Sniped the GI.

True enough. Conceded the AI. It's careful calculations told it the Energy Weapon would explode harmlessly overhead. A warning shot.

Rennon queried its trajectory and was relieved when he realised that even the terrain would prevent an accurate targeting solution. The ridge prevented line of sight targetting, and the terrain conspired to put the trajectory of the energy weapon over the Pylon.

Lucky him.

They show nothing but Kek. Terok thought, grinning as he did so. The ship might have been damaged, but the supplies on board should still be in tact.

Terok had no idea how many survivors there might have been, but all he could see were these two. Terok decided to stun them, rather than kill them. In case he needed information from them later.

He put his staff weapon down, and drew both of his Zat’ni’katels.

One shot stuns, two shots kill, three shots disintegrate. Terok thought, gripping a Zat’ni’katel in both hands, his finger on the trigger.

The GI barely had time to get up, before experiencing what most civilised spacefarers called 'A Zat Gun' personally.

'Yargh!' Yelped the GI, curling into a feotal ball yet not losing consciousness. He could thank his advanced synthetic physiology for the last. He really was not enjoying that fact. Biosynthetic nerves were practically telling him that this would be where a normal human would pass out from pain.

"The Symbiotes are gifts from the God Apophis! They heal us and give us strength! They do not possess us! They are simply appart of us, in our pouch in our stomach!"

Teroak looked around the ship franticly, hoping Apophis had given some aid to his servant.

Near the flat surface the two humans had laid the one called Pendleton on, he saw it:

One of the Zat'ni'katel.

One of the human fools had brought it in with him, and it had fallen off of his person.

I must reach it. Teroak thought, immediately turning his eyes away so no one would notice he was looking at it.

Instead, he looked at the surface and said, "You will not need to heal him! He should revive on his own."

Teorak began to inch slowly forwards

A few more meters... Teorak thought, edging closer to the Zat.

"And it won't matter. That "concussion blast" was nothing more than my god Apophis calling forth magic from the skies. You cannot face a god."

Almost there... Teroak thought, he was only about a half-meter away.

"And soon, you will feel the wrath of the Goa'ULD!" That last part he shouted, for he dived for the gun and picked it up, rising to his feet.

"And now, you all die!" Teorak said, looking over the group of men surrounding the table, his eyes shining with malace.

"I believe another shock could kill you," Teorak said, looking at the GI standing before him, "so, I say to you go-"

Teorak suddenly clenched his side, and colapsed onto the ground. His symbiote was begining to squirm around inside of his pouch, it was getting adjatated. Teorak looked his stomach for a moment, when his symbiote suddenly stuck its head outside of the pouch, screetching."

Onil stood weakly beside his singed stasis-cum-escape pod, trying with little success to piece together the reality of his situation. The last thing he remembered was waking his comrade for duty and climbing into the pod himself.

“Well...” he said to himself, “I am awake, and I can breathe. Am I home? I see nothing... this must be the Rustican wastelands. That makes precious little sense. What date is this?” He sighed.

Onil was from Tudkaha province, the Empire’s largest at perhaps one and a half billion citizens and slaves in all. He had the appearance of an Indian man, and one who’d spent several months sleeping in a zero gravity environment. He was dressed in the loose pyjama-like shirt and trousers in which he’d entered the pod, barefoot, and had nothing in the way or arms or supplies. He was, though not absolutely sure of it, the first member of the Ralish civilisation to set foot on a foreign world.

He looked around for his comrades, but was not surprised to see nothing of them. Nobody had been sure that the pods he arrived in would survive re-entry on Aisa, let alone a foreign world, if this was so. The crew was supposed to return to orbit around their planet, dock with the space station Golden Firmament, and return to land aboard a shuttlecraft. Besides, there were only two pods, and there had been three hands aboard ship. This was certainly not good news.

With nothing else to do, Onil picked a direction and began to walk. His only hope was that this was Aisa, and that something had gone wrong on the way home, because if it were any other planet, he was alone and years from a rescue that really he couldn’t expect.

Alien beings were the absolute last thing he imagined that he might find.

Kail and the earth caste, who he had discovered was called Creed. He chaeked the systems of the Pod, it still was able to move, weapons where functioning, the only thing that worried him was the power supply. He looked at his surroundings. THey remined him of the northland, where the mountines gave in to the forests, where the Morthdrel lurked. He had been watching the different crashes with mild intrest, if thy stayed near the pod, they would be safe. No sooner had he thought this then the pod made a groaning sound, then all the lights shut off. He swore, the pod was jamed, and out of power, as such, he and Creed had only a Pulse Rifle and Pulse Carbine, Two pulse swords, a few days of trail rations, and a number of Tools Creed could not seem to let go. Eventually with convergence.... once this one is exausted... The uruk hit a switch and light, cold and bitter, illuminated the dank ruins of ancient times....
High above; the thudding boots of the Space marine echoed through the forest; as it held a Bedlam staff in one hand, and a bolter pistol in the other....Here, alone the sorceror stood; as a rumble echoed through the forest.
Smoke billowed dully from long chocked furnaces; a slight signal fire in light of the barren world. He smirked slightly; moving forward, as far below; the creature stared at architecture alien to him, in relative wonder.
"An unknown race came forth...And brought with them the fruits of the universe; yet what struck them down....What evil or what plague took them from this place, I wonder....?"

The GI hissed at the sight of the Symbiote.

'Those bloody things destroyed Beautiful Dreamer, a neutral tradeship on the outskirts of UCE known space. The closest thing I had to a family worked on that ship, and their zealots mean nothing more to me than dust. I told you to restrain him.'

I have a hypothesis upon this planet, Rennon.

His head snapped up, a habit that most humans had when dealing with the unseen DNI.

'Go ahead, DNI.'

Trace elements point towards an early colonisation approach, which was abandoned sometime in the last century. I have no doubt that if we delved deeper into the matter, both figuratively, and literally, that we will find remains of the past. I cannot identify the species or civilisation, but judging from the heavy trace elemental particles, including rudimentary Reaction Mass and primitive vaporised alloys, I'd say they were very new to the game when they landed.

'But what made them leave?'

I find no evidence to believe they ever did leave, Rennon. Nothing. What sensor logs I managed to download from ADA tell me that there are no sophisticated launch vehicles or facilities on the ground, and that there was a significant debris ring in low planetary orbit. Whoever colonised this planet didn't make it back off.

'But... If they didn't leave... Why aren't there any colonies?'

I do not have enough information to calculate a hypothesis yet.

The GI blinked in surprise. 'NQ?'

He set about healing the damage to the LC, and told his DNI to monitor their response whilst he worked.

'This may hurt.' He advised to Pembleton, before carefully gripping the bone in question and shifting it back into place against Pembleton's array of bones. The quick application of nanites to the affected area had them repairing the fracture and manufacturing new bone.

Now. He looked at the Humanoid's bare chest and sat back on his haunches.

'I'd say the Nanorepair factories can repair the damage, you've just practically got a gigantic hematoma. I'll have the nanites programmed to replicate blood and revive the dead and damaged tissue. This will feel pretty weird.' He advised, before placing the small hypospray on the alien's chest and thumbing the Nanites into his body.

Nanite Factory Control: What orders?

'Complete repair of all damage and internal bleeding, using cobalt that I will supply. Also, I've reset the right collar bone and have lesser nanites fixing the bone, if you could look over their work and refine it if necessary.'

Understood.

'There's nothing more I can do for now, just lie back and enjoy the ride.' The Sarcasm rode freely on his face.

'Now, what's this about NQ?' He asked the Master Chief, walking over to them, and picking up his rifle. It was a comfort thing.

He was walking through when he saw a number of orange shapes, and another one further away. He gestured towards Creed, who moved silently beside him. Kail handed him a com unit, which he put on silently.

"There are a number of human sized creatures over there" He said softly while pointing in the direction of the ship. Kail had had enough, he could not see the people, and Creed was notas fit as him. Already the rigors of the trip where showing. He also had no armour, and he had no idea how to hold a weapon. On the otherhand, the ones inside seemed to have many weapons. He sighed, and told Creed to stand with him.

They moved towards the building, their weapons in hand. While they where pointed down. This would not comfort most humans, as both beings where 9 foot tall. Kail had taken off his helmate, to reveal a Human like face. He had blue eyes, and his hair was as pale as the full moon. Creed on the other hand was black, his skin showing the Keshian Ansestory in his blood. His hair was also black, and his eyes where a deep brown. Both had moved their wings out, something that had been foled apon the body before, now both could be seen. "NQ," says LT. Moore, "Is the code for the material we make our Kraskinov Drive out of... It's a super-dense exotic element, atomic number 299, it naturally occurs on the homeworlds second moon.... It acts as an energy amplifier.... The physics get pretty complicated, but basically we use it to generate a neutrino stream, to open and stabalize a wormhole between, almost, any two points in space.... Present technology on the Mark12 drive units allow us to create distances up to about, at least theoretically, seventy-two million light years.... It lets us jump intergalactic distances in seconds... And how we do most of our hyper-deep exploration... This is the first time we've seen the material outside of the home system... Up to this point, at least, it had always been assumed it never existed anywhere else........"

His head turned, and he grimaced.

'I see movement. I'm going down there.' He hissed, beginning to walk down the corridor towards the entrance, activating his Thermoptics as he walked. A ripple of static electricity washed over his body, as his uniform warped light and bled the heat away from his synthetic body.

Jaffa's hold a Goa'uld symbiote within them, but they act more like another organ in thier body. A reall Goa'uld enters through the neck, back of the throat, or any other soft-tissue spot they can find to attach themselves to the brain and spinal cord.

Kek Teorak thought they have nothing but Kek.

Teorak squirmed around the floor as best as he could. He felt revived, refreshed. Several days of intense battles versus Ra's Deathglider patrols in nearby systems had taken their toll, and he had not been able to initiate Kelnorim for many days. ((Really? Then why did Te'alc (Sp?) have riual crosscuts on his abdomen for the first and second season? I'm confused.))

OOC: Jaffa are normal humans. At the time of puberty, a pouch is put into them, just above their stomach. In other words, they get a little pouch between the skin in their stomach. This pouch keeps the symbiote alive via electrical impulses in an aqueous environment, and in turn the symbiote acts like a seperate healing organ.

A Goa'uld is someone who has actually had a mature symbiote enter through his or her throat, neck, ect. and attached itself to his or her brain and spinal cord. Then, the Goa'uld takes control of the human host, and naquadah is put into his or her bloodstream. A Jaffa is still sentient, and there is a difference between the symbiote and the Jaffa's mind. Only in Kelnorim can the two minds become one and a healing process begin. A Jaffa does not have naquadah, which is why Ribbon Weapons (hand weapons), which require Naquahdah in the bloodstream to use, cannot be used by normal Jaffa.

Oh, and when a Goa'uld actually takes over a person, that is when you have the glowing eyes thing.

Kail ignored the two near him. Fireing another clip into the bushes, he pointed his gun to the floor. "Ómëcë Owndë érëha oúldwú óúyén" He yelled. ((Means "Come down Here")) "Hówsá óuryë äcéfä" ((Show your face))

Creed looked at the map, then drew the most direct parth to the pod. He made a cross referance, then called the Scarecrow LT. "This is where we are." He said softly pointing to his map. "This is where the pod is, it took us aproxamatly 5 minutes to get from here to their at a light jog. So it is not far."

'Excellent. I can probably lift and carry it, provided I have someone to support me.' How he loved being a GI.

I've uploaded a map, peruse and see if this is acceptable. Reported the DNI, translating the iconography into an actual virtual image. The only hard part would be the ridge. However, if it was capable of surviving a crashlanding, a simple roll downhill would not faze it one bit.
'I'll need a guide, and an armed one at that, I'll need both hands.' He asked.

The GI twisted and watched the Master Chief run towards the prostrate Goa'uld. Those suicidal cries fell on sensitive ears.
To let him die wiould violate UCE martial doctrine...
'I know...' Something said the Zealot should die, slowly. He left the decision to the Master Chief.

Uruk Hai infantry soldier, armament unknown, the Chaos Marine is nowhere to be seen. This could be a trap. Cautioned the AI, programming targeting solutions for the Uruk Hai, whilst simultaneously searching for any other targets amongst the forest.

'That's futile, the armour those Marines wear registers as null on most sensors.' Advised the GI, gun's safety deactivated, and the hum of high powered electromagnets registered the gun as primed, before the muffler quashed the sound.

'Come out with your hands up, Uruk, and we'll spare any unnecessary bloodshed.' Ordered the Lieutenant.

Teorak remained in his position, wondering why there was no pain.

Why have they not killed me!? he thought, his mind racing.
They should have killed me. Apophis, Ra, Chronus, they all would have done the same: they would have killed me.

Teorak looked up, and saw that the two men were focused on something out in the forest. He called out to the GI:

"GI, Kree! Why do you not kill me!?"

"Why would we want to kill you?" the Master Chief blurts, somewhat unexpectedly... the back of his mind racing, he has no weapon, and no real way of self-defense, and he gave up his one advantage in that statement. "We are all stranded here... We're just trying to survive....."

The woman sat there in the clearing many kilometres from the other beings now... she sat there listening as Frida relayed the goings on to her in Vrari, the language of the Shadows. Then it became obvious there was going to be fight...

Woman:

Frida, can you give me a view screen of whats going on?

Frida(Ship):

Of course Mistress.

A holographic image condescended into view before the woman showing what was going on in a split screen.

Woman:

Thank you, Frida

Frida(Ship):

You are welcome Mistress.

"Kek," Teorak repeated, moving towards Master Chief as he did so, "Kek means weakness and death. For if one is weak, one might as well be dead as well."

Teorak stopped about a meter in front of Master Chief and briefly looked at his person. He noticed he had no weapons, no ways of defending himself. All it would take was a quick jab at the neck, a quick kick to the legs, and one sweeping motion, and Teorak could have easily taken off the Chief's head.

Instead, Teorak put out his huge, muscular arm and hand, saying, "Then I have misjudged you. I cannot survive alone, for Apophis has forsaken me. I am Teorak."

Teorak suddenly reached out with the hand he was shaking, and grabbed out to his elbow. Chief, startled, compulsively did the same. Teorak shook his arm, which was a customary greeting for brotherhood among the Jaffa.

Teorak couldn't explain why he was doing this. All of his years of battle and training told him to kill this heretic where he stood. And yet, he imediately felt there was something more. Something...else.

"I don't know why...but I feel I can trust you." Teorak said, giving a little smile as he did so. The Serpent tatoo on his head creased as his brow uplifted in his smile.

Teorak let go of Chief's arm and begun to laugh. He suddenly flelt good to be alive. His depression, his suicidal thoughts, they all left him. He flet whole, complete somehow.

His laughter even caried over to the Uruk and GI...

Kail, jumpy from being on a different planet, stranded, with no idea what they where saying, cocked his Pusle Rifle, and pointed it towards the Uruk. He was scared, he was surrounded by, a number of creatures, most of which armed, and he was guarding an Earthcastian who could speak. He was scared, and egdy.

Creed on the other hand was relaxed. He already had plans set out for their defencive perimmiter, using a Space Station design as the basis, he had edited it to suit their own needs. He turned, and was suprised to see Kail with the Pusle Rifle at the Uruks head.

Icewater eyes regarded the Uruk's own demonic yellow.

'I come from the UCE. D corps. I am Lieutenant Rennon Carde. Rennon will suffice.' He safed his weapon and lowered the muzzle, casting an appraising eye over this newcomer.

'You know of the UCE's status with your nation?' His tone was casual, but an undertone of warning was there. 'We are all stranded here until such time as Nightingale can rescue us. Or whatever aid comes to the table.' A sweep of the hand to indicate everyone, from stalwart Goa'Uld to mysterious Lesser Tsuranii.

'However, as you have seen, something malignant was delivered to this planet. There is rumour of buried colonies beneath the forests, and our fusion core went critical moments after entering this system. I do believe everyone here has encountered a similar problem.' A glance at the Pylon, majestic in the halflight, even for a wreck.

'Not only this, it appears we have all conveniently crashlanded here. On this Continent.'

'The likelihood of all crashsurvivors congregating upon the same Continent, given the varying entry vectors of ships and escape pods, is a six hundred to one chance.' Reported the DNI, using the communications equipment. It's voice had a wraithlike quality, and androgynous.

'You heard the AI, something, or someone, wanted us all here. On this continent.' A sombre look crossed the GI's face.

'I propose we work together, for protection, for survival. Perhaps even to discover this Planet's secret. I, for one, intend to find out what could cause a Scarecrows engineered Fusion Plant to destabilise without explanation. Or a ship the size of TRSS Tiamat to overshoot and hit a planet after expulsion from hyperspace.'

He turned to each in turn, asking for an explanation of their ship's failure.

Frida, please disperse a perimeter of Scarabs around our position. Set them to full explosive charge and await my command to detonate them by general area.

Frida(Ship):

As you command, Mistress

Over a thousand insect like little creatures sped out from the black spidery ship, they were as black as night but when they got to the positions they had been allocated they merged into their surroundings pretty much perfectly.

Woman:

Send out a wide band, rippling wave signal in all lateral directions. The message will be 'The Darkness has returned' add your mental scream after that.

Frida(Ship):

Yes, Mistress.

A silent wave of millenia of hatred, death and agony in a wave, which could be tasted in the air. Like the death cries of hundreds of billions of sentient creatures at the hands of a single race. All races had heard of them, mostly as myths and tales to warn children of the darkness that had engulfed the Galaxy a thousand years ago.

This craft was a scion of that Ancient civilisation, the woman one of the successors to that title... The Shadows of Z'ha'dum were back, with them came war, untold suffering and pain... in the name of Chaos and Evolution...

All that could be hoped for was that a new defender of Light would come forward... to fight the Darkness...

There was, of course, the question just why a devout follower of the teachings of chaos, a being incorporating the wisdom of those ancients... Chaos through warfare. Evolution through bloodshed. Perfection through victory. would just scream out the message, rather than operating like those ancients, hidden, beneath the surface, moving slowly, carefully.

Indeed, sometimes it seemed like even those ancients made mistakes... When chosing those who would further their goals.

On Z'Ha'Dum, a world whose name was only whispered by those few knowing, a mind, enslaved by a giant machine, felt a soft touch.

Wierden hadn't had a chance to free herself, in those thousand years passing by since she, greatest of the techno- mages, had been enslaved by the demanding mind of The Eye. Yet, she could feel the touch of the ship in question. And Wierden, the winged creature she was, last of the Taratimude, faithful followers of chaos until Wierden corrupted their mind, responded, automatically, the pityful remains of her mind unable to prevent it.

Well, she responded, the question was, of course, if she would actually be heard. Damaged as this machine of chaos was, it was not at all guaranteed that Frida would hear her... Feel her.

Yet, things had to be decided, and her ancient masters, hidden beneath the surface of this long dead world, came to discuss. Indeed, if security, if secrecy had been compromised, some things needed to be done.

And they would be done.

OOC: I sort of revived the Technomage order to be headed by Galen (an evil Shadow controlled version not like the ones in the books or Crusade but just as powerful as the Book one) and 'The Eye' as written in the Books, I don't use more an Organic Super Quantum Computer (i'd actually forgotten that Wierden was in the Eye).

But in the time line of the thing, my Shadows are the second race to bear that title, with the original Shadows as in B5 having left for the Rim a thousand years ago. This lot look like the Tiste Andii of the 'Mazalan Book of the Fallen' series and are going to use some Thirdspace race style heavy tech.

Both Creed and Kail heard the scream, yet could not care less. The Psykicentic Chip implaneted in their brains ment they where not affected by any type of psykic or mind warfare. They listened to the scream, and then thwe two worked together to make a reply.

-Careful who you talk to.- Came a voice that was two. -Our race know the true ancients. The ones you think are old are nothing, the race we know wiped the ancients from the universe, 500 of them destroyed your old ones greatest fleets. The ancients where gods, made from the stuff of this universe.- They then used their Psykicentic Chips to send the message, and then smiled.

OOC Now, before you say "You have no idea what our ancients where" You must understand Tsurani are born to belive these ancients where what they said.
