Goa-uld

Hiya! This is just a thread to get people to know about my nation, the Goa'uld (I had to use a "-" because Nation States won't allow a " ' "...). In case you don't know who they are, that's good. You get to encounter a new and interesting race. If you DO know who the Goa'uld, no telling people what's going to happen or what's in store for Nation States. I'm going to be having a lot of internal conflicts, so just watch those instead of telling people what's going to happen.
Just as a premise: The Goa'uld are symbiotes. They are small worm-like creatures which burrow themselves through the neck, mouth, chest, or really any soft spot they can to get to the spinal cord. Once inside, they attach themselves to the brain and control the body. Given enough time (often only a few hours), the parasitic body will no longer be required to keep the Goa'uld in control of the host body. The actual parisite is called "Prim'tah" by the Goa'uld.

Here's a Goa'uld
However, there is a catch: the Goa'uld are weak in a larval state and need a place where they can be fed constant electrical currents in an aquatic environment. Therefore, Jaffa, who are human slaves of the Goa'uld, must carry a symbiote in a pouch located on top of their stomach. This pouch keeps the symbiote in a warm, watery fluid that has electricity constantly pulsing through it. The Prim'tah is put into a Jaffa (who is "Honored" sufficiently) when he or she reaches the age of 10. By the time any Jaffa reaches the Age of Prata (puberty), a Goa'uld is placed in them. A Goa'uld inside of a Jaffa's body gives many advantages. A symbiote acts as another organ in the body, one which heals wounds relatively quickly and protects the host from a variety of chemical, biological, or poisonous weapons. However, a Jaffa must initiate Kelnorim as often as possible. During this deep meditation, the symbiote and the Jaffa's minds are one. It gives the symbiote instructions (if necessary) to heal specific parts of the body. This act replaces sleep for the Jaffa, which the Jaffa do not need. Jaffa are often tatooed with the symbol of their Goa'uld master's on their forhead. The First Prime of that said master (IE: The Goa'uld master's second in command) has his or her tatoo gouged out (in the same shape) and have molten gold poured into the wound. This makes a permanent golden mark of the Jaffa's loyalty to his or her Goa'uld leader. Eventually, when the symbiote reaches maturaty, it will infest its host. This causes whichever Jaffa that carries it a chance to eventually become a powerful Goa'uld...even a System Lord.

Goa'uld society is a feudal-type society. To control their slaves and Jaffa, the Goa'uld set themselves up as Gods; Gods that reflect the mythologies of the Jaffa. The Goa'uld are ruled by many different Goa'uld lords, however a few stand out as being particularly powerful. These very powerful Goa'uld are called System Lords. Currently, the System Lords pledge alegience to Ra, whom they call the Supreme System Lords.
The system lords are:
Ra: Ruler of the System Lords

Apophis: Brother and sworn enemy of Ra

Baal: A very old Goa'uld who once destroyed 60 million slaves rather than have them fall into the hands of Sokar.

Baset: Allies with Lord Kahli, they betrayed the once great System Lord Sobek to his death.

Morrigan: An enigmatic Goa'uld who often works through her servants to gan access to her rival System Lord's information and strategies.

Olokun: Olokun is an old System Lord. His armies have become weak in recent years, not in strength but in mind. He still remains a powerful System Lord, despite these set backs.

Svarog: Svarog is known for one thing: never under-estimating the enemy. He often will send whole battle groups against primitive societies, even if a smaller group would do the trick.

Yu: One of the eldest System Lords, he was alive even when Anubis was exiled. His forces are large, his inner systems well-founded. He is a wise and powerful System Lord, who often looks beyond the pety strifes of the Goa'uld to their nation as a whole.

Nirrti: Evil, amorale, and brilliant. Those are a few words to describe Nirrti. She has many secret agendas within secret agendas, causing even nosy System Lords like Morrigan to become confused.
